Review for U-Haul Experience: I’ve rented 17 vehicles this season through my corporate account, using various U-Haul locations, and overall, my experiences have been excellent—except for this particular location. Unfortunately, the same individual handled both my pickup and drop-off, and their behavior was unprofessional, rude, and alarmingly uninformed about U-Haul policies. First, during the pickup process, this person caused unnecessary panic by falsely claiming that any driver not added as an “additional driver” on the account would be arrested if caught driving the vehicle. This was completely incorrect, as corporate accounts allow employees to drive vehicles without being explicitly listed. This misinformation nearly led me to return all 17 vehicles prematurely. Second, when I was waiting for a driver to pick up a vehicle, I was told to park and wait in the street—even though the parking lot was completely empty. This was entirely unnecessary and a poor display of customer service. Finally, at drop-off, the situation worsened. One of the vans had a minor scratch on the rear bumper, which should have been fully covered by the SafeMove insurance I had purchased. However, this individual lectured me about the van’s cameras and falsely claimed the damage would not be covered under the policy. This again demonstrated a complete lack of understanding about U-Haul’s own insurance options, creating unnecessary frustration and delay. This type of behavior is unacceptable and significantly tarnishes the reputation of U-Haul. I’ve dealt with multiple U-Haul locations this season, and every other experience was excellent. This location stands out for all the wrong reasons. Unless this issue is addressed, I will avoid this location entirely in the future and would hesitate to recommend it to others. Bottom Line: The unprofessional and uninformed behavior of this employee is driving away business. I hope U-Haul takes this feedback seriously and makes necessary changes.
