I submitted a request for a U-Haul on June 12, 2026 for pick-up on July 9, 2026 at the Cockeysville, MD location. I received a call the evening before notifying me that I would have to drive to Nottingham, MD to pick up my truck instead. Upon arrival on July 9, a new employee said he was unaware of a U-Haul rental so he did not have keys and I would be unable to pick up a U-Haul that day - one day prior to my out-of-state move. I had to convince this employee to call his manager and waited 25 minutes for the manager to arrive with keys. I then had to wait another 30 minutes so they could find my information in their system. When I finally received the keys, I was told that the appliance dolly I purchased was unavailable...the one item that was desperately needed for heavy furniture. The whole process was unprofessional, especially considering the fact that I rented a U-Haul a month prior, so there was plenty of time to have a truck and appliance dolly ready for me at my exact requested location. It felt like my reservation for the Cockeysville location was more of a wish list than a true reservation. Going forward, I will not rely on U-Haul in Baltimore County. Moving is stressful enough without the unnecessary stress of an unorganized, unprofessional process.
