As per U-Haul policy, the provider told that they have to ensure that Trailer is properly secured to the customer vehicle and the electric connections are working between customer vehicle and trailer so that rear light of the trailer are working for safety reasons. The electrical terminal of the trailer was not getting connected to my Honda Pilot towing light socket. It needed an converter. The agent forced to buy the converter from him. After connecting the trailer electrical connections using his converter, he told me to press brakes and then the turn signals and said that he checked while standing behind the trailer that the trailer rear light were working. He took photo of the connections between trailer and my vehicle but did not take photo of the tail lights of the trailer but just said that he saw the lights working. It was very bad weather that day, but I was feeling safe that trailer is properly connected and trailer lights were working till such time while driving on the highway one passing vehicle informed me that my trailer lights were not working. After stopping the trailer I checked that the electrical connection were proper and tightly fitted but the trailer lights were still not working. So this means right from the start from U-haul area the trailer lights were not working either due to incompatible converter or the converter was defective. I reported the matter to the U-haul owner who is also the owner of a Gas station since his U-haul outlet had closed by that time. U-haul agent should not have told a lie that the trailer lights are working and not put me in danger. I am sure he purposely did not take photo of the trailer lights while delivering the trailerGurvinder M.

Their was no windshield washer fluid, so if the windows got dirty, I would have had to stop beside the highway and grab a handful of snow and try and clean it that way..this is dangerous. Their was a half eaten bagel in the cab. The speedometer was in miles per hour not kilometres per hour. I was not happy that their was only a quarter of a tank of gas in the truck. The guy who rented the truck to me didn't give me any instructions on the truck. The truck seemed to be on its last legs. The mpg was shockingly bad. I had to turn the steering wheel a little to the left just to go straight. Overallâ€¦not good.steven H.

When I return the cab on Saturday, I forgot to collect my glass. It was in the cab side of the driving seat. I informed the person who was there and went to collect it on Sunday morning. But it was not there, and someone has stolen my glass. This is not acceptable. Very frustrating about your service. I don't recommend Symons Valley location as the people who work there is not trustworthy.Sanath H.

I rented a 6' x 12' tandem trailer which was quite heavy. It was a very heavy lift to get it hitched onto my truck without help. Other trailers I've owned or rented had an attached crank to jack the end up to make it easier and safer to instal.Mark W.

I did not drive that many km... I have had nothing but an absolute horrible experience. I showed up to what looked like a run down barn they have turned into a uhaul to find Noone at the little makeshift desk set up they have..... to than have somone finally walk in the back door not Even greet me or anything just ask why I was there. He told me he didn't see my reservation even tho it was clearly on his computer and I had pulled it up on my phone. He pointed into a farmers field across the little shack and told me there was my truck and threw me the keys and walked back out the back door like he had better things to do. The pickup truck was barried in 2 feet of snow I had to climb my way through to snow to the truck and spent 30 mins brushing off the truck and another 30 mins digging the truck out that barely started in the first place. I than had to find my trailer out in the farmers field and took another 45 mins hooking it up myself eith Noone from the uhaul place to be found. The truck was not on a full tank of gas... buried in 3 feet of snow, flashing that it needed oil change was overdue, no windshield washer fluid and had to be dug out by your paying customer.... I want this situation resolved asap and I want a response back to this email from upper management this is a complete joke and a paying longtime uhaul customer should never go through this your vehicles should be ready to go for your customers apon arrival for a reservation not in a farmers field burried in snow and them be left to hook up there own equipment....Jesse P.

The van was in good condition, but the cab was dirty - would not have been much work to clean it before providing it the next customer. The van supplied was from Arizona, so it did not have very good tires for the snowy Calgary roads.Michael C.

I was pleased the location had so many vehicles to offer. However, the "office" is a sad spot to have to work in. I suspect it's a heritage building, so maybe nothing can be done about that. I was able to conduct my business fine but I felt sorry for the workers. It's small, old and cold.DianaMarie S.

The location is the worst! Their service is poor and unprofessional! The right information wasn't passed at any point in time. As a new user to Uhaul who didn't know how things were done, I didn't receive the proper guidance. My information was messed up, I had to chase after my receipt due to this. I was hung up on, even escalated it to the Area manager who basically saw no fault in the service and basically heaped the blame on me saying I should have 'known' better and that I wasn't 'patient' for him to get around to me after I had previously reached out to the customer service. I have been in tears since my call with him.TEACE C.
You have a mixed experience here depending upon who is working on the day, lack of IT literacy for a system based rental booking, the call centre staff are also useless, I was called 2 days after my online reservation only for the agents to redirect my reservation to a different location, subsequently when I went to the location to pick up the truck, there was no record of my reservation and all they had was a 26 ft truck when all I needed was 15 ft at most. A complete waste of truck space and incredibly inconvenient for my needs. I also locked the keys in the truck, the agent sent someone to open the truck but over 3 calls failed to mention any charges for this service, had it been mentioned earlier I would have called my own breakdown service who would have covered this for me free of charge. I did drop off at night. the location was very dark and intimidating at night. I dropped the trailer in a location but no sure if it was in the proper location as there was no signage to indicate a proper spot. If there was signage there was no way to see it due to the lack of parking lot lighting. I would prefer to drop off in the daylight next time if I can. Why is there no location in the community of Cochrane AB. I had to drive almost an hour to get to this location, which was the closest location for the dropoff.Jeff S.

Very poor customer service with no empowerment, no care for customer. Hire friendly, welcoming, and smart people to work for you - ones who care for their customers to create loyalty. Filthy dirty vehicle provided, was charged for two days instead of one and incorrect milage charged too! Booked a 9" Cargo van and ended up with a 20" Truck to carry a 10 cu ft fridge. Very poor experience. Despite calls to customer service center - response not making up for poor experience. Disappointed!Alim S.
