truck was clean and person was kind & helpful.
Saurav SFirstly, this isnt an Indian restaurant anymore. Its called Smitty's, so that may confuse anyone that isnt a local that knows it used to be an Indian restaurant. They have no counter/inside representation. Just a phone number taped to the door. So you do everything over the phone, then some guy hands you a key. The truck I got had the check engine light on the whole time and the windshield cracked all the way across the windshield. Both of these things should make a vehicle unrentable until repaired. I did not feel safe or confident driving the vehicle, but I was just staying in town. I would not have taken that truck on a big move. But at least they had a truck for me this time. Last time I scheduled a truck rental when I was moving they just shrugged their shoulders and told me they didnt have a truck for me, regardless of my booking confirmation.

Jonne IThe location is NOT Thali... it is a Smitty's... spent ages trying to actually FIND the right place to go in as it is a busy mall space... had to ask a random passerby who happened to know that Thali closed ages ago and that the Uhaul is in the Smitty's. Insid the Smitty's there was no one at the desk, Smitty's staff came and went, I tried to talk to someone who just said "leave the key, you'll get a receipt in a half an hour... no receipt came for afull day....
Sarah NTruck was shaking, may be some issue in engine but later it ran good. 5 start for the person who helped a lot over the phone. he helped for pick up , drop off easy. person also helped over the phone for the issue.

devanath rThe franchisee is very rude and unprofessional. They threatened me with "parking fees" after their initial bullying tactic did not work. After submitting the documentation online for the return of the vehicle, an employee ( i believe to be a family member of the franchisee) told me to "fuck off", yet again. ( see notes re customer service call at approximately 11:30 2016-05-31, where this same employee told me to fuck off several times, after I told him that I would not be paying his parking fee.) I have a text from the same employee telling me that a parking fee would be added "per the contract". I note there is no such fee listed. These people at the very least need a refresher in Uhaul policies, or should have their franchise revoked.

frank bTheir counter or customer area could be cleaned up. Windows are cloudy, and stuff on the floor and counters. Feels line you are in someone's basement. People are friendly.

Scott HThe vehicle wasn't ready and front desk was empty when I arrived for the time of my scheduled pick-up, but there was a number to call and the person who answered explained the problem and let me know when the vehicle would arrive. The delay was about 10-20 minutes total. Things went smoothly after that though. Return, especially was a breeze and was primarily taken care of for me by the agent.
Jamie DCustomer Service Rep. was friendly and attentive. Vehicle was fairly clean but needed to sweep after receiving due to what looked like dog food and dirt on back and pet fur on the cab, Fairly minor imo.
TJ STold me everything was fine when I dropped off the utility trailer. Then I got an email invoice and they had added a $15. Cleaning fee from the drop-off location. The trailer was cleaner when I dropped it off than when I picked it up. Because of this treatment, I will not rent from uhaul again nor will I recommend this business to anyone. Beware and take pics before and after.

JEAN HThey made me do all paperwork over the phone while standing outside on a very cold day. I was told to go grab the trailer by myself (U-Haul usually have someone checking that you have all the proper equipment to tow) None of the trailers they had there had jacks so they were nose down in the snow, mine was also frozen to the ground. I had to call again and they had to send some to try and pry it out. Had to go back for tools. When I dropped it O had to manually disengage it and just let it fall to the ground as it was heavy.

Dilpreet SIt was messy. The brake and turning signals were checked by the employee. The running lights were not checked and we found out later they were nonfunctional. This was a very big concern considering how far a trip we were making from Sault Ste. Marie Ontario to London Ontario at night so we had to run the hazards the entire time to make sure we could be seen on the highway through the United States. The first time we rented a trailer from UHaul a few years ago, the wire harness set on fire and this time no running lights…not very impressive, major safety concern for my family traveling such a long way.

SAUMIN OWell, I originally requested (well over a month) a 26 ft box truck and a day or so before the pickup date, i received a call that there was no 26 ft truck available and that a 20 Ft + small trailer would be provided instead. The day and time of pickup, no one was there? no one? Doord were locked. I called the number on the door and there was no answer. I called the number on the reservation and once again, no answer. I then called the main uhaul number and was on the phone for a exceptionally long time waiting only to be told that the pickup location was closed and that I might be able to get the truck and trailer tomorrow? After almost 2 hours at the location, another person came to pickup a small trailer and just picked it up and left. I asked them how they were able to get the pickup and they said you needed to go inside of the restaurant "Smitty's" and go up a set of stairs and there may be someone there. I did this and it was at the kitchen door. I waited for someone but no one came. I eventually went into the kitchen / cooking area and found a woman who told me she saw me but was busy and would get to me as soon as she could. After a long wait she finally came out to see what I wanted. I proceeded to show her my reservation and she said she did not have a truck available although one was outside. She didn't have my reservation on line. I called Uhaul again and had a helpful woman on the phone who spoke with the attendant and we finally got some action. It was a single person operation with the uhaul representative wearing a "Smitty's" cheff outfit? The truck and trailer were both filthy inside and the truck was on "Empty" saying 9 miles of fuel remaining? and the "Check Engine" light was on. We used the truck and trailer on Saturday morning and returned it that afternoon with an almost full tank of fuel. Again, no one was present at the drop off location and we took pictures and attempted to back the truck & trailer into an area out of the way but because the area had not had any snow removal at all, we got stuck and were not able to move the vehicle at all due to poor tires. After attempting to dig the vehicle out, were had to leave it where it was. All in all an absolutely terrible experience. I am hopeful that the invoice I eventually receive will reflect all of the above. Respectfully, Carl Cooper

wayne pNo one was there to meet in the morning. I was on route to another location when they ended up calling and telling someone at a neighbouring business would be able to get my keys for me. The parking lot wasn’t plowed and the truck wasn’t cleared off of snow and ice. Worst yet no scraper was provided in the cab to remove the thick layer of ice and snow all over the hood, windshield and mirrors. Upon return no one was there to check my vehicle or ask me how my rental experience was. I was also not provided a receipt or any further explanation of my bill as far as milage charge or anything else. This was a terrible customer service experience and not at all what I am use to as long time uhaul user.
Dan DThe name of the location is incorrect. The named restaurant no longer exists (and hasn't for quite some time), Also, it was frustrating to pick up the key. The location of the key pick-up was not well marked, the door was locked and a person had to move a bunch of junk to open the door and speak to me. At drop off a person appeared and checked the truck and then left and told me to document the same info on the app. The location is central in town and the truck was clean, so that part was good.

Sherri kChange the name of pick up location for a start as there is no restaurant by that name at that location. The locations parking lot had not been cleaned and was pure ice by all the uhaul trucks made it very hard to walk around for inspection and getting in and out. I had to stand out in the cold for several minutes as the door was locked when I went to collect the keys. The mobile check in was pure garbage also

COLIN SThe person needs to be at the location at 9am to handle the customer's coming in. There were 3 customer in a dark foyer trying to get ahold of the person in charge. Then texts links to upload all our information. This needs to be done face to face. Once I handed in my keys the customer service was great. Someone met me there turned on thr lights and completed my transaction.

JOHN WThe 26’ truck was in very good shape but it was a lot bigger than I actually needed..unfortunately the 20’ or 15’ wasn’t available for the trip from Sault Saint Marie to Hamilton and I didn’t really need it for 3 days. 1 would have been sufficient. So overall I got what I wanted to move but with the 3 day contract and the bigger truck it was pretty expensive

Micheal CName of business was incorrect. Requested dolly was not available. Only half of blankets were available. Location charged me for a dolly before confirming one was present, causing additional hassle asking for a refund through uhaul.
