easy drop off
SAUMIN OWell, I originally requested (well over a month) a 26 ft box truck and a day or so before the pickup date, i received a call that there was no 26 ft truck available and that a 20 Ft + small trailer would be provided instead. The day and time of pickup, no one was there? no one? Doord were locked. I called the number on the door and there was no answer. I called the number on the reservation and once again, no answer. I then called the main uhaul number and was on the phone for a exceptionally long time waiting only to be told that the pickup location was closed and that I might be able to get the truck and trailer tomorrow? After almost 2 hours at the location, another person came to pickup a small trailer and just picked it up and left. I asked them how they were able to get the pickup and they said you needed to go inside of the restaurant "Smitty's" and go up a set of stairs and there may be someone there. I did this and it was at the kitchen door. I waited for someone but no one came. I eventually went into the kitchen / cooking area and found a woman who told me she saw me but was busy and would get to me as soon as she could. After a long wait she finally came out to see what I wanted. I proceeded to show her my reservation and she said she did not have a truck available although one was outside. She didn't have my reservation on line. I called Uhaul again and had a helpful woman on the phone who spoke with the attendant and we finally got some action. It was a single person operation with the uhaul representative wearing a "Smitty's" cheff outfit? The truck and trailer were both filthy inside and the truck was on "Empty" saying 9 miles of fuel remaining? and the "Check Engine" light was on. We used the truck and trailer on Saturday morning and returned it that afternoon with an almost full tank of fuel. Again, no one was present at the drop off location and we took pictures and attempted to back the truck & trailer into an area out of the way but because the area had not had any snow removal at all, we got stuck and were not able to move the vehicle at all due to poor tires. After attempting to dig the vehicle out, were had to leave it where it was. All in all an absolutely terrible experience. I am hopeful that the invoice I eventually receive will reflect all of the above. Respectfully, Carl Cooper
Carl CEngine light was on when picked up, a heads up that the staff knew that would have been nice. Otherwise, very good experience and will use again
wayne pNo one was there to meet in the morning. I was on route to another location when they ended up calling and telling someone at a neighbouring business would be able to get my keys for me. The parking lot wasn’t plowed and the truck wasn’t cleared off of snow and ice. Worst yet no scraper was provided in the cab to remove the thick layer of ice and snow all over the hood, windshield and mirrors. Upon return no one was there to check my vehicle or ask me how my rental experience was. I was also not provided a receipt or any further explanation of my bill as far as milage charge or anything else. This was a terrible customer service experience and not at all what I am use to as long time uhaul user.
Dan DThe name of the location is incorrect. The named restaurant no longer exists (and hasn't for quite some time), Also, it was frustrating to pick up the key. The location of the key pick-up was not well marked, the door was locked and a person had to move a bunch of junk to open the door and speak to me. At drop off a person appeared and checked the truck and then left and told me to document the same info on the app. The location is central in town and the truck was clean, so that part was good.

Sherri kChange the name of pick up location for a start as there is no restaurant by that name at that location. The locations parking lot had not been cleaned and was pure ice by all the uhaul trucks made it very hard to walk around for inspection and getting in and out. I had to stand out in the cold for several minutes as the door was locked when I went to collect the keys. The mobile check in was pure garbage also
Megan SThe emergency brake chain was improperly attached. Staff did not know how to correctly connect trailer. Trailer was partially buried in snow drift.

COLIN SThe person needs to be at the location at 9am to handle the customer's coming in. There were 3 customer in a dark foyer trying to get ahold of the person in charge. Then texts links to upload all our information. This needs to be done face to face. Once I handed in my keys the customer service was great. Someone met me there turned on thr lights and completed my transaction.

JOHN WThe 26’ truck was in very good shape but it was a lot bigger than I actually needed..unfortunately the 20’ or 15’ wasn’t available for the trip from Sault Saint Marie to Hamilton and I didn’t really need it for 3 days. 1 would have been sufficient. So overall I got what I wanted to move but with the 3 day contract and the bigger truck it was pretty expensive

KEITH TI got charged for three days rental and I picked up the trailer and dropped it off the same day. I filed a complaint and as yet haven’t received a reply and that was 5 days ago

Micheal CName of business was incorrect. Requested dolly was not available. Only half of blankets were available. Location charged me for a dolly before confirming one was present, causing additional hassle asking for a refund through uhaul.

GARY LThe location was under construction and that is fine. The customer service was good and friendly. The vehicle was battered, dirty and smelt of smoke (found a cigarette in the front console). Just not ideal. Glad it was only an intown rental.
Logan CMy issue was with the wiring harness provided by the location. The rental agent had a hard time getting it to connect properly. During the rental the harness failed and brakes, turn signals and brake lights were non functioning...not safe.

Ramin Zhave more options available, worker to actually fix the vehicle - no gas cap provided and key gets stuck in ignition worker to be on time - went to pickup at 9:20am and get set up with the vehicle and drive away by 9:30am but both the worker and the vehicle didn't show up until 9:35am - didn't drive out until 9:40am

SCOTT NI would recommend others to book their reservation and pick up at a location when they are open because my experience with the online team was horrible. I have a temporary driver’s license and the app didn’t accept it and asked me upload old or expired drivers license. One online representative flagged my account for uploading the expired driver’s licence. Feel the online representative should be trained on empathy and trying to understand situations before deciding.

Geoffrey IThe truck must be cleaner. There were coffee spilled on the seat. We found candy bar Wrappers behind the seats and under the console. The truck itself exterior wise was clean and the box was clean also. The equipment itself was good., excellent fuel mileage for such a large truck. . If I could make one suggestion though, it would be really great to have a longer ramp. A 10 footer would get rid of the high angles when the truck has to be parked with the back end is higher than the front of the truck facing downhill.

Manish kCustomer service representative was totally Irresponsible. She gave me a truck with broken front bumper and literally torn tire. When I asked her about these , she said I am not responsible for this. I book my truck to travel 800kms and she gave me the truck with these conditions. Completely meaningless. Worst experience.
