For trailer anywhere hooking up. Maybe have some type of temporary leg for receiver height setting. Just keep in stores. When customer comes in, lend them temporary leg to hook up. Picking up trailer and trying to hold while hooking up is very hard for a weaker person.

We set our pick up time for 2pm. We arrived to pick up the rental and the woman who runs the Uhaul portion had left to run errands for the gas station. Completely unprofessional. We will not be renting from this location again.

I had this unit reserved and it was rented out to someone else, either off the books or with no documentation as the owner said that the guy who came in offered his girlfriend's license and then attempted to pay with a credit card that was rejected. Terrible service. The owner simply gave me cash for my rental, charged my credit card for the rental anyway, left the reservation in my name, dispatched the auto transport trailer in my name, and now I receive the review because it is still in my name. The owner offered me a phone number to another location, but offered no other consolation or help in finding a trailer to use. This set me behind for at least a 1/2 day of work, since I had to wait until the next morning and secure another unit at a different location. I have made at least 3 contacts to the U-Haul corporate office and am still waiting an answer and a final resolution to this problem.

Absolutely appalled at additional charges on my bill. Did not keep truck 3 days. Called 800 number for Uhaul to return and received no help allegedly closed!!! Drop off was not confirmed, but had the UNIT for ONLY 3 HOURS. Absolute travesty!!! I have always used UHAUL equipment and NEVER been over billed like this before. SOOOOO disappointed!!!! You list this as Statesville when in actuality it is in Olin. You also need to change some of the locations listed online where a truck can be returned--it is very inaccurate.

I would like to recognize Cindy at Tomlin Mill One Stop as an exceptional employee of U-Haul. We rented a car trailer with truck. Before we arrived home to pack truck, the trailer tire caught fire. Cindy handled this issue with calmness, empathy, and professionalism. Please extend our sincere thanks to her again for her assistance .

It seems that your computer system needs upgraded and more user friendly. The card machine at this location does not work well or it is the operator system is not working properly. Use of and return of the trailer was fine.

I am not sure if I would recommend or not, I could not get any returned calls, out of about 10 calls left voice message no returned calls, I wanted to use a credit card the lady say cash was easier, I gave 100.00 in cash. When I returned the truck no one was there. I ask that the refund money be return be mailed to me. That never happened. I called back several times and no return call. 2 weeks later I went back to NC as I live 4 hours away from there. Was told my refund was in an envelope. I went in the lady took the money out of the register. calls should be returned and refunds should be made in a timely manner.

This was overall my poorest experience with U-haul. These locations mentioned above did a great job with customer service and equipment however, I went to get my rental from another location prior to picking up at 1025 Tomlin Mill Rd, Statesville, NC. The original location was not customer friendly and they are the reason why I had to find a different location to pick up from. They did not make the rental experience welcoming. Basically insinuating that I was not going to return the vehicle. Days prior to the pick up, I contacted scheduling only to wait on hold for 2.5 - 3 hours to find out that the scheduling department was closed for the day. I expressed all of this and more to the U haul customer service representative and they have filed a formal complaint. I am requesting a full refund for the rental. Again, this was the worst experience I have had as a long term customer. I have been a customer of U haul for at least 5 years.

Person who handled uhaul wasn’t there for scheduled pick up, trainee was confused and lost. Damage to truck not noted, gas less than recorded, charged for equipment they didn’t have and when I asked for a refund the lady in charge “was doing paperwork and couldn’t be bothered”. 2 hours for pick up. Ridiculous and horrible customer service.

Great trailer compared to my last rental for another location that had a short and blew my trailer equip fuses on my truck. Staff was fantastic and all the equipment on the lot appeared well maintained so I didn't have to worry about which trailer was picked for me.

I was texted the night before to call and confirm. Immediately called, they said we were good to go and they'd be ready when I showed up. I showed up, the lady at the gas station managing the uhaul trucks wasn't there as she said "we have nothing booked for today", then she returned and told us she missed it while looking. After this, the printer and computers weren't working so it cost us almost 2 hours.

Locate trailers off of the incline, it makes it harder to hitch and unhitch to vehicles.

Honestly, when we arrived to pick up the trailer, the staff was not yet there, then there were some printer issues that delayed the transaction a little bit more. However, it was handled exactly the way you would hope it would be. VERY courteous and I always felt our best interest was her motivation.

When I placed my reservation I set the pick up location to here due to the close proximity to my home. When I arrived to pick up my 9' cargo van I was informed this location hadn't had the vans in 2 years. So I called the information center and they told me the van was in a troutman location and that they closed at 12pm, it was 9am. So I called the troutman location and there was no answer the 3 times I called. I called the information center back and a different woman answered and informed me that the troutman location was closed due to holiday schedule and that no other location had the cargo van. The woman at the one stop called another location and I was told a Mooreville location had a van. The information center then confirmed the location did in fact have a van but I then advised her it was 20 miles out of my way and that if I was going to have to drive the extra way I should receive some sort of mileage comp for the inconvenience. The information center said they don't do that kind of thing. It then so happened that a man with a 10' truck came to drop off and the woman at the one stop said I could use it since it was the same price. I was then also advised the mileage that was on the website(.59c a mile) was incorrect and was actually .99c a mile due to the weekend. So now I have the wrong equipment and am paying more then what I was told. When I came to return my uhaul from my Statesville to hickory(28 miles one way) trip that I had driven 73 miles. So now I also owed more for miles for miles I didn't even drive. So my $40 uhaul turned into a $125 uhaul. It's a good thing I didn't ask for movers or other equipment because who knows what would have happened.

Unable to comment on the service of the Uhaul rep. They were not there when we dropped off our truck. However, the person at the checkout desk of the gas station did give us a written receipt that we dropped it off. And we got a receipt via email for additional miles we used.

I was supposed to pick up a U Haul in Elkin, but there wasn't one. I received a call stating I would need to pick one up 30 minutes out of my way in Mount Airy. Then I received a call from Mount Airy that they didn't have a one way and that I would need to call U Haul. I called dispatch who sent me to another department which was closed. The second person in dispatch had the sense to tell me to call in the a.m. On Saturday, I called and made arrangements to pick up the U haul in Statesville. I asked dispatch when I needed to pick it up and she said any time before 4:45 p.m. At 1130 a.m. I received a call from Statesville asking if I would be there at noon. I told her what dispatch had said and she said that she would have to make special arrangement with the owner to be there. When we arrived in Statesville at 2:30, no one was there to assist, and the store clerk tried to call the local U Haul owner multiple times. We waited about 30 minutes before someone arrived, and she was rude.
