So the place we originally reserved was , "The Golden Smoke Shop" on Hwy 111 in Palm Desert. After being up all night preparing for my move, I was awakened by the owner of the shop. He said he needed 2 references to prove we were who we said we were. I told him we just rented in March and no one has asked for references then. He said, "Well they weren't doing their job then". I was half asleep and got off the phone. When we went down to get the Uhaul, the very nice employee of "The Golden Smoke Shop" said he needed 2 references or he couldn't rent us a Uhaul. I told him, it was not a job interview and we had rented in March and no one had asked for references. He said it was the boss who had told him to get the references. Not only to get the references but he would have to call these people who's names and numbers we would give him. We said, No. It didn't sound on the up and up. The employee was nice, it was the store boss who was asking for this information. We left and went to the second spot , Towmedic where we were treated very nice by a lady who knew what she was doing. What a difference it was. Towmedic is friendly plus professional. Uhaul could improve some also. If we reserve a 15' uhaul, we shouldn't get a call the day before telling us you don't have one at the location I reserved it for. That happened to me and I was told I would have to drive to Indio or Palm Springs to get it, if I wanted the 15'. What has happened to customer service??? If uhaul finds out ( after it let me reserve a particular truck) that you don't have one at that location, you need to pay someone to drive one down to the location where I reserved one. It shouldn't be on the customer to have to be driving around to find the truck that was reserved.

supposed to be open until 5 pm. had to leave truck on street and drop key in lock box. The Photo I took of the dash with the gas gauge when I left Tustin looks the same as when I dropped off. The charges me 14 bucks for 2 gallons of gas. I called them and told them I have pictures of the gas gauge on pick up and drop off they told me I need to call Tustin. I told them Towmedic Transport charged me and told me to call Tustin office.... complete run around never even asked me to see my pictures, plus when dropping off the number listed on my rental agreement was not in service friggn disconnected phone number on my rental agreement for drop off location. I had to call tustin office. to find out if Towmwdic would be open. I got another phone number off window to call towmedic.... when I called to check if they were open they told me they are not going to be doing the U haul anymore.

Nothing went wrong, it just happened to be that our truck was not cleaned sufficiently. Dog hair and dirt. The other challenge is that I forgot to stop filling the gas tank to the point where it was when i picked it up, and ended up filling it to the top, which was almost 1/2 a tank over what i needed to. I didn't have a way to communicate to anyone there to see if i could be credited for that oversight on my part. Oher than that, everything went well.

I’ve had a claim out for almost 3 weeks and I have not heard anything back. No call, no email! This is the most ridiculous rental I’ve ever done! Ive been using you guys for over 20 years and never had a situation like this! I’ve already emailed you guys as well and so no response! Shame on you!!

These people are unprofessional and are doing this as a side hustle. Their main business is a towing company. Please STOP using these part time people. They are untrained and not helpful. Horrible! They could not answer my questions as they know nothing The only good thing was that I got a truck with just 5,000 miles so the equipment was good

The truck was not clean neither from back or the cab. It was a mess. But that did not stop me I used the truck and then swept the cab and the back.
