Uhaul online, there weee 2-15’trucks 2 blocks away and Uhaul called and made us go to Winnipeg 84 km away to get a truck. 0/5 customer service as our time is valuable, fuel costs, etc. shameful!!

chris hI booked a truck and dolly 1 week in advance. Got a call the day before that they wouldn't have a truck in the location I wanted. Once I got to the alternate location I found out they had no dolls. So I had to carry everything with no equipment to make it easier. I still left good marks because it wasn't these locations fault but I'm quite disappointed with how it all went down.

Extra cost in milage, fuel, helpers, time spent, and terrible experience for my moving clients and everyone involved. Booked a 26 foot truck,.... was given a 15 foot truck !!!! Had to make three trips... cost me a lot of money and time... and Uhaul is going to contact me to see about a refund... so, see what happens in 3-4 DAYS, worst experience, very stressful.

He said he is gonna charge me 25 extra if i don’t. He was very unprofessional and very disrespectful. He was talking on the phone all the time he was dealing with me. If this guy was the company ceo uhaul would be closed 20 years ago.

Upul HWorst moving experience and customer service I have ever received. Friday March 29, Uhaul systems were down when I showed up at 315 for my 330 pickup at 1751 pembina hwy. Agent at the desk was incredibly rude and dismissive accompanied with eye rolling. Was told they’d call when the system was up and nothing else they could do. I drove 30 mins to pick it up, so having to continue with my moving process, I left and drove the 30 minutes home. Received a phone call around 445 that system was up and to come get it. Drove back another 30 minutes. When I arrived I was told there was only 1 dolley and that he gave away the other two of the three I had reserved. Was told too bad and that they don’t check reservations to ensure equipment is available. He then said I could call uhaul “but it’s Friday and Easter so they’re closed” is what he told me. At this point I’m 2.5 hours behind with movers waiting at my residence to load this truck. The agent then informed me that they only accept master card or visa. No debit, visa debit, or cash would be accepted. I don’t have a credit card and made the reservation with my visa debit. There was nothing written in the itinerary when booking that location that payment options would be restricted. He told me too bad nothing he could do and offered no other solutions. I asked to speak with a manager and he said they don’t care and there’s nothing to be done. Thankfully the friend who dropped me off was able to come back to use their credit card to put a hold. We ended up checking the truck out at 5:27. Got back to my residence at 630 as the weather had taken a turn and was snowing and traffic was delayed. I live in an apartment and had the elevator reserved for my movers 4pm-9pm. This whole ordeal left is with less than 2 hours to load. I had to take the load to storage 35 minutes away and was only able to do the one trip as they closed at 11. We had to load the truck again Saturday March 30, and make a trip to storage and had to return by 4pm. Due to the delays, we ended up needing to rent A SECOND U-Haul from a U-Haul centre to use Saturday night and Sunday. All loads would have been completed (2 Friday, 1 Saturday) and the truck returned by 4 had this not happened. This created unimaginable chaos and cost me $350 more than it ever should have. I’m hoping to have some of this refunded as the service I received was HORRIBLE. The only redeeming factor was the agent I complained with initially on the phone Friday. I was advised to call back after my move and some sort of a refund would be discussed due to the service and that it was unacceptable and not the type of service they expect of U-Haul representatives. It was speaking with Tammy and then kittie I decided my only option to complete my move was the second U-Haul rental. I chose a direct centre on dufferin ave as service was promised to be better and it most definitely was! Everything was available and the staff was helpful and courteous. I’m grateful that I was able to have gotten the second U-Haul on short notice and that the service there was amazing. If it wasn’t for that my move would have delayed onto Tuesday with it being Easter weekend and I would have been charged a late move out fee. My reason for moving was due to losing my job as the building manager due to company restructuring and had 30 days to vacate as the lease I had ended March 31. Tia TMy impress of this uhaul is they don’t take care of their vehicles. The service was good, but the passenger side couldn’t be opened with a key, the truck was filthy even though the uhaul office is inside a car wash, and the gas cap was missing. Also, during the return process it gives you an option to say No to a question about if everything was working properly, but you can’t actually continue the return form if you do so you’re forced to just chose Yes, which the owners may not know about.
JONATHAN GUhaul Rental March 9, 2024 1. On March 9, 2024, I rented 15ft truck at the Pembina, Winnipeg location 2. I saw the check engine light on and I told the agent I’m not comfortable with the truck, he insisted I should take it. I also had to clean the snow and wasted time and gas. 3. At 1:46pm after loading the truck, I couldn’t start it. 4. I called the Pembina agent and he gave me road assistance number to call. 5. The road assistance lady gave me a reference number at 2:01 pm. The reference number is:2916450. 6. The lady told me help will come in 30 minutes, but didn’t come and at this time my feet and fingers are frozen. 7. At 2:50pm I sought help from someone in the area who charged $50 (cash) to boost the truck. And I left 3pm. 8. The guys that I hired to load the truck charged extra $200 for the additional time and inconvenience. I hereby request $250 from UHaul.
ADEKUNLE AThe truck did not pick up speed. The parking has a lot of snow and we were not able to park the truck. The customer service rep was very rude. They were charging more for fuel and said that “they have to satisfy other customers”. Overall the rep was not very helpful

Dexter HWe rented a u-haul and it did not had full tank of gas. We were informed if the tank is less than 1/4 we will be charged $30 extra so we returned the u-haul at 3/4 where it was and was charged $15. Upon asking the person, we were not answered properly and still had to pay that $15.

Abigayle SWas bad experience as I got a Van which had 4x4 heavy blue pallet in the back looks like from the previous renter which has not been cleaned up and I had to move it so I can fit my items in. Also there was no Windshield Washer Fluid in the van and I had to drive with dirty windshields and fill it.

Narinder KI needed to extend due to weather and was out of province. The customer service rep from uhaul put pressure on me to return the trailer even though it wasn't safe to do so. She tried to make me feed guilty saying it was needed by a family and then threatened a $50 extention penalty. Her attitude and lack of understanding was not appreciated. The folks at True Blue car wash were good.
Ray STruck did what it needed to do, although it was poorly maintained…. (Driver and passenger door did not close, hitch was difficult to close, check engine light was on, and cabin was dusty and dirty)

Craig WI would say the equipment was well maintained and it was so-so on clean, but we are in a wet season. I went to a previous U-Haul location prior to arriving at this one and the only comment I would make is that the equipment should be nicely lined up and evenly spaced for both the trucks and trailers. The Pembina location had an RV camping trailer sitting outside the front door that makes the setup look disheveled and tight for vehicles coming and going. The RV camping trailer should be parked out of site in the back.

Ronald DBooked moving truck online for 24hrs. Upon pick up I was asked when I’d be returning. In confusion of me thinking, does my reservation not state this. As I received email confirmation. Advised that they don’t allow more than a 6hr or 8hr window of usage due to month end moving. Don’t know when most people move. However, best guess it’s end of month or the first of the new month. If these franchises would review their reservations and reach out to advice. Maybe at the very least. That would have been better than me then needing to find other means to move. I was asked the amount of of mileage I’d be using it for. I estimated 20km. Used much less and was not reimbursed. Service isn’t friendly or professional. I’d be after an enclosed trailer from other business’s next time around. Uhaul and it’s associates do not deserve my money.
Rithy KI think to take more care and put more attention to business is the best way to improve this service. Mileage on paper differs from mileage on vehicle meter. In the end I paid double mileage. This location strongly not recommended.

The only small suggestion I would offer is to ask the customer if they need a lock for the truck when the pick up the vehicle. Then it could be included on the invoice. Renan GThe man there was very friendly, but did not even look at the truck I dropped off, and no receipt was offered. I felt like I was leaving myself vulnerable for unwarranted additional charges.
William PIt took around 45 minutes to pickup the truck. Around 15 minutes was standing in line waiting to get the key. I should be able to do do personal verification before getting to the location and picking up the key should be simple. Also there needs to be a way to report minor damages.

Josenino MTruck had some loose steering and it was not checked prior to pickup, it only had 4 blankets and they were not in the pouch but strewn all over the back amongst the cardboard and pieces of wrappers left behind by the last user. I returned it cleaned with blankets folded in the pouch provided. I also added two blankets from a previous rental.
Rick EUhaul itself needs to do better when the equipment you reserve is no longer available in your city to find something at least close. I was told I would have to go to a different province to get the trailer I reserved but found one in a different city luckily but still had to drive 500km just to pick it up. Very very poor service from uhaul and if I can help it will never use again
COSMOE-JACOB MVan was not very clean (very dusty) and did not feel well maintained. Although I could be wrong as I can’t judge it based solely after driving it for a few kms. The location’s after hour uhaul parking was confusing (unsure of where to park and could not find a space). I was also surprised I had to wait for 20 mins in line before I could get the UHaul (was not expecting this based on other experiences). But perhaps that’s because they were running other businesses at the same time. I am also not happy about being charged $25 for a cardboard box. I haven’t had this happen before and it was placed at the bottom because it felt unclean. I assumed others could use it, otherwise we would have tossed it. Didn’t know I’d be charged so much for something that takes 30 seconds to remove if they didn’t want it there.
