The app was a horror to use. It stopped working and had to restart the entire order. Got called the next morning asking why we had 2 orders. Then when we got to the pick up location, the app still didn't work and loaded very slowly. Some guy came out and I'm not even sure if he worked there, and started yelling at us for using the app saying we should do business face to face. He said right off the bat we were going to be charged more for using the app which didn't make me happy. He then told us our truck was on the other side of building and after checking every truck he was wrong it was parked on the other side, so at this point I was pretty pissed off. I had the truck for an 1.5 hours and put 15 miles on it. When I got the truck back, cleaned it, and locked it up and put the keys away. I log into the app to see it wants like fucking 7 pictures and it's too late I already put the keys away. So then I called U-Haul to only be transferred to someone with a 2 hour wait. The next morning I get a bill and the lady charged us 15 dollars for cleaning because there were foot prints in the back of the van. Not happy with U-Haul or the staff at the pick up location.Adam S.

I really like dealing with this location - reserving and checking-in online beforehand makes the pick-up go even better. They are always quick to help get the trailer hooked up and run through safety checks, etc. Very easy and gets me on my way quickly without cutting corners.Nathan M.

I got an email that said they had my 5'x10' trailer. I was quoted $863. I put my card in to pay and the amount was nearly $1800. I told her I was quoted $863. Then she looked it up and said yes that was correct. I paid and went outside to hook it up and they didn't have the 5'x10' trailer, all they had was 6'x12' so I had to take that or nothing. The reason I say below average is because it was not possible to put the key in the drip box. We walked around the entire building to see if there was another but there's not so now I have to make a trip tomorrow morning to bring the key by my deadline time. This is a policy issue rather than a comment about location or personnel. I ordered the equipment I required online from the location where the move was taking place; the reservation was approved. It wasn't until one business day before the scheduled pickup that I was telephoned by a company representative and told that the truck I needed wasn't available at the requested location. Instead of paying for a local rental, I had to drive an hour away to pick up AND return the truck and then was charged all the mileage involved. With the addition of the required gasoline fill-up, this added an unplanned $230 to my task. In my opinion, the equipment shortage was not my fault, and I shouldn't have been required to pay for or travel to pick up the appropriate truck. This entire situation was a mess. We were notified a day before we were supposed to pick up our truck and told there wasn't one available. The nearest location was over an hour drive to pick up and bring home, then after picking it up and loading it, I got a text telling me the drop off location was changed. We had to drive ANOTHER hour just to drop it off. I would not recommend UHaul to literally anybody. It made our entire move SO much harder, and cost us WAY more money than necessary.KenaDee F.

The owner Ed, was super friendly. The other staff members, Missy and Michael provided fast and friendly service. The storefront was clean, organized and inviting. I would recommend True Value Rental for all uhaul needs in the area. I was able to get in and out quickly and with ease, all staff here is knowledgeable and ready to assist. I paid $76+ to drive 5 miles, had the truck less than an hour. Truck I requested was not available. The gentlemen who helped me get the keys for the uhaul seemed sick and was VERY RUDE and snapped at me for not hearing him. I felt disrespected and overcharged. The lady in the store was very nice, helpful. The best I could say about the experience. I hope I don't get sick after dealing with this ornery person I gave nothing but respect to. I put the fuel-used back into the tank (over $10 for a 30-mile use-? On a smaller U-Haul truck....that would equal less than 7-miles per gallon).....but was charged for fuel after returning of truck ??. I originally reserved a 10 foot truck in the Standish, MI location. However, they were unable to find my reservation when I arrived due to â€œsomeone from UHaul must've taken the truckâ€ so I was forced to drive 35 minutes away to Bay City to pick up another truck and then drive back to Standish to pack. This caused a significant increase in the amount to gas I had to pay and I felt that this was unfair because I had my reservation for 2 weeks.Joseph M.
My problem isn't with the location, my problem is the way uhaul charges me almost 70$ for a 4 hour rental when the default is supposed to be 6 hours. I didn't have an option to extend and now I have to wait another week to rent another truck to move the rest of my things. I will not be using uhaul for any truck rentals in the future. I understand wanting to maximize profits but I shouldn't get charged for a full day on a 4 hour rental. RidiculousKyle M.

This location did fine work. But overall I am terribly disappointed in my service. 1. The location I originally booked was just all out weird in a pharmacy. The pharmacists had computer issues and then left for a while before coming back to tell me that the truck would not start. At first he offered no solution until I pressed. Then he literally said he was going to "call a guy who lived up the road to see about a replacement." I waited an hour with no updates. In the meantime, I reached uhaul chat and the rep insisted that I was at the wrong location. I attempted to explain my circumstance and they were no help. I reached out to the 1800 number only to get a terrible busy signal over and over. In a last ditch effort, I called a "local" customer service line where it was explained to me that they changed my reservation to this location and that I could pick up immediately. The service rep also said they left a message in my home phone which was 1.5 hours north of my location. They also said that my bill would be credited 50 dollars for the hassle. However, when I received my final bill, there was no such credit. Not only was I well over an hour late, I had horrible service every step of the way UNTIL reaching this location, where the staff were spectacular and efficient. I am still very frustrated with uhaul as a whole. With several locations near by, this should have been a quick easy fix...but relying on busy pharmacists to remedy an issue like this seems highly irresponsible. And having poor service in the chat wanting to argue and no way to connect with uhaul at the toll free number was a comedy of errors that caused great frustration. The assistant that helps hook up the trailer could be more friendly. It would have been nice to get a warning that there are predeparture instructions and online dropoff instructions to follow. We were not aware and had to drive back to site to complete them.Shaun E.
Not argue with customers about signs that say "Leave boxes in truck" about boxes left in truck. Then I got the 2 boxes out of the truck out of approximately 30 that wouldn't be reusable if you only want to put 1 piece of tape on it after being threatened with a $50 cleaning fee. That company had the audacity to still charge me $10 for a cleaning fee. I want my cleaning fee refunded immediately.Bradley H.
