Did not have the equipment I had reserved, shitty damaged truck, realized it was completely inadequate for my fairly simple needs, turned around immediately to return the truck, no ability to get a refund or compensation. So I spent $60, drove about a mile so I could turn around to go back. I was unable to get any kind of refund or compensation or accommodation. Your policies are terrible, your customer service abysmal, and I pray I will never need to rent a truck from you again. Ended up grabbing a truck from Menards for about $20, much better vehicle, service, price and actual employees who gave a fuck. Just awful. Zero stars. Will be promoting ANY other rental service. You used to have customer service and support, but no longer. Practically predatory now. It is sad to see.

The price quote I got online was about 34 dollars. Then after the drive I am billed 54. And THEN I received an “after hours service fee” of twenty dollars plus other fees tacked on that I will be disputing because I got the truck back early but nobody was there and the doors were locked. I put the key in the key drop and took pictures of the truck in the lot with time stamps because I feared I would be charged a late fee. I got a sketchy feeling about the guy working this location during the pickup so I’m glad I trusted my gut enough to take pictures of everything. I will be reviewing this location to warn people of lack of transparency on price and of the illegitimate charge tacked on.

Nobody told me I needed an app to pick up my truck early, not in any of the 3 emails I received, so I was 2 hours behind. I then was told to close out and return my truck through the app or website. But not until after I dropped my key off so I couldn't get back into the truck to take pictures. So there goes 20 dollars for no reason! This was so absolutely ridiculous and just added more stress to moving.

My drop off location was changed without my consent and the people I spoke with on the phone trying to fix it were extremely unhelpful. I was interrupted, and they didn’t believe when I said that my drop off location had been changed even though I had proof that it was. After this rental experience I am unsure if I will ever use U-Haul again when moving.

I thought of book the 10’ inch vehicle and went to Plymouth location, While booking the guy was mentioned like you have to drop the location and I also agreed but he didn’t told me that if I am dropping to different location then cost is high

Arrived just after close, gate locked with key code required, sign directed to go to uhaul.com or app for after hours help, there is 0 instruction on either on how to access after hours, nor was there any advanced instruction on how to access and utilize the 24 hour uhaul service. If I use uhaul again I will not be using the 24 hour service and will be avoiding the garbage app.

I got charged 67.14 twice. Once when I checked out. And again the next morning at 7am. I also got charged 74$ when I returned the U-Haul. I called and asked why I got charged the same amount twice and they said “it balances out after 4-5 days. Not exactly sure what to think about that. Not sure why I’m getting charged the same exact amount twice.

This is a gated location so you cannot drop off anytime. We arrived at 9:05 on Sunday to drop off our truck. Sign and website said they were open 9-1. Nobody there. Two other customers waiting to pick up. Had to call at least 8 different numbers to get in touch with someone. She claimed the location opened at. 10…she will remind the, to change the sign. Ha. Said someone would come from another location. Gave me code to gain access to park. Had to call back multiple times when code did not work. Lady from other site finally showed up. Was a horrible experience and this location does not reflect well on u-haul. You can do better than this location…or demand that they do better. Super disappointing experience.

I was extremely stressed going into the hopkins office and the gentleman working was amazing. He asked me how i was cause he could see i was upset. I started crying and talking about my stress. He was both professional and compassionate and literally gave me legendary customer service all the while training in a new guy. He deserves not only a bonus but a raise for delivering a story i will tell many times over. Thank you so much!

GREAT - our check-out and check-in experiences were really good. Staff member was super helpful and super friendly! He helped us find a dolly rental location when we found that U-HAUL doesn't offer for rental. CONFUSING - U-HAUL online allowed us to reserve moving blankets and a moving dolly. Neither of which were available from the rental location. Not that they didn't have any on hand, rather they DO NOT OFFER them. I would ask U-Haul to improve the system such that customers know they'll not be able to rent anything other than the truck.

I returned the equipment even before my return time tried to drop it off via mobile drop off but had a network glitch i also called uhaul support but i was charged extra $20 for after hours drop off and extra $1 for environmental fee. Yet to see that resolved and my refund processed.

The self serve option was very difficult and not explained throughly in advance. The representative was unwilling to help and referred me back to the website for help. He actually stated “We don’t have any interaction with”y’all” anymore. Not a great experience. I will not be using U-Haul again.

The location was fine but because of how atrocious the app/website reviewing was I would never recommend a friend use a location without a service counter. The process to pick up through my phone was terrible. Chatting with a service person online was awful. All the instructions they provided were wrong and it didn’t make sense. One chatter just stopped responding to me and never replied so i had to figure out how to start the process over. This was so frustrating and it was also completely avoidable if the app/website UX/UI was better/USABLE. I will never do the Mobile pickup ever again.

I have found the U-haul app to be buggy and unreliable on my iPhone. It would not complete the check-in procedure to pick up the truck, nor would it complete the procedure for returning the truck (it would get "stuck" and just spin forever). Thankfully the staff member at the rental site completed each procedure manually. The truck itself had two cigarette lighter sockets, neither of which had power, so I was unable to use my dash cam and unable to charge my phone. Three years ago the U-haul app was similarly buggy.

It was a lot with a locked gate and no instructions. I spent 20 minutes trying to load photos into the website and then it told me to put the keys in a u-haul drop box, but there wasn't one. After calling several numbers, I got ahold of someone who gave me a code to open the gate and I walked around inside until I found an office to put my keys through the mail slot of. I really miss dealing with human beings. Also, it was a 25 minute drive away from where I was originally supposed to drop off my u-haul, which made it a lot more work and messed up my schedule.

My first truck had a dead battery after waiting 45 minutes for the app to approve me. DONT USE THE APP TO CHECK IN GO TO THE FRONT DESK. second truck had low tire pressure but used it anyways and then the drop off location suddenly changed and i couldn’t return it via phone like it said i could. worst experience ever.

I made a 24/7 reservation and all of my email and online confirmation notices stated an 8am pickup time that I could do from my phone. When I arrived at 8am to pick up my truck, the location was closed and no one was picking up the phone. When I logged onto my online account, it said my reservation had been changed to a 9am in-person pickup. Only one phone call was made to give me notice of the change (at 6:30pm the night before and I missed the call). There was not a second phone call, text, or email notification. So I was running an hour behind schedule on my moving day which put my entire day behind schedule. No real apology was made for the mishandling of the reservation and no discount was offered. I am extremely unhappy with the customer service at this location and will not be returning or recommending this location to anyone.

Don’t allow someone to reserve moving blankets, furniture dollies, and dollies in general unless the location can guarantee availability. They are critical pieces to a successful move.

The location manager said he doesn’t do dollys or furniture carts anymore because it is too much work. He didn’t put them in and wasn’t going to tell me he didn’t. I only found out because I asked if they were in there. Only then did he remove the charges. I also asked about the blankets, which he didn’t put in the truck either, and he acted like he was doing me the biggest favor of getting them. Definitely not a customer first environment and the manager just came off as lazy. It also felt dishonest that he was going to charge me without including any of the extras I asked for. Also, I had to call the location for the manager to show up even though I had a 10am pickup scheduled. All my other u-haul experiences have been positive this manager just is bad at his job.

overall my rental experience was very good. I rented on a Saturday (3/18/23) and expected it to be busy. The rental person was very cheerful and helpful, But I did the rental paperwork online which turned out to save a lot of time when i went to pickup the truck. The 10' truck was in good mechanical condition; back box was clean. I returned truck later that same afternoon. I did the return online, which also saved time.

The after hours return was a scam. We followed instructions. We returned and used the URL as described. They also charged for 2 gallons of gas even though it was filled within 2 miles of the location. Who is accountable for this? Who can we escalate this to?
