Silvijo MWe got there at 8am and could not get our truck with mobile app because it was blocked in by a returned truck. We called and they said we needed to wait until 9am when the store opened. Once we got the truck and pulled out it was empty. We had to get gas. I took a picture of it to show them that it was empty. When I returned the truck they asked if I took a picture of gas gauge to show empty and I said yes and the receipt for the gas which I showed both and got nothing taken off my bill for that. I would never recommend.
Paula JDon't assume a customer has driven a truck before. Make sure a person is familiar with specifics of the truck. Don't park trucks in an inaccessible area.

Steve GI returned the truck with exactly 1/2 tank as instructed. I was still charged for 2 gallons of fuel at nearly $20. I will never return to your location. All the times I have used UHaul trucks, this is the only time I have been erroneously upcharged. And your lot situation is ridiculous.

I am hoping I receive a credit for this. Also when we came to reserve the truck the representative said we could give the credit card over the phone when we came to pick it up & this was not true so I had to use my credit card not the person renting it!
Sonja RWow! We had bought boxes from home depot and rented the truck from U-Haul and boy was I wrong! Boxes cheaper and everything walk in the store and I was very impressed! They got it all and at great prices,wouldn’t go no where else U-Haul getting it done 10 out of 10 stars! Period!
Stanford MWe were required to pick up One Way 5'x8' Cargo Trailer at this location, arrangements made by some agents on the telephone on 5/20/26. We were originally scheduled to pick the trailer up on 5/21/26 in Fallbrook CA. Because Fallbrook did not have the One Way, on 5/20/26 we were told we had to pick up in Oceanside. Because of the inconvenience, the agent gave us a 2 day rental for the price of 1 day. I told the agent we would pick up the trailer on 5/20/26 sometimes after 3:00 PM. When we arrived at the Oceanside location at 4:30 PM, our reservation had been canceled. The guy at the desk who had canceled did a reverse on the cancellation, but now we could not selection the original location we wanted to drop off the trailer on 5/22/26 in San Diego. We had to drive out of our way to return the trailer on 5/22/26, which we did before 12:00 PM. To add insult to injury, on 5/25/26 we received an email that we had been charged for the 2nd day rental of $29.75. I had to call U-HAUL to request the charge be reversed, which I received the refund today. De'Angelo the agent told me the 2 day was annotated on the agreement, but the turn in location did not put in system. This seems a very poor way to do something, make an annotation on a form, and hope someone else sees it. That One Way 2 Days for the price of 1 Day should have been put in the system at the time it was offered. If the system does not allow, it should, and it's something U-HAUL needs to correct. We have rented from U-HAUL many times over the years, but this rental was a mess, and not sure we will come back. Also, it's my understanding, since Oceanside canceled our original reservation on 5/20/26, our local dealer Moe's in Fallbrook did not get any credit for the rental. If accurate, that does not seem fair to him.
Luis LReservation location changed to quite far from me (significantly more mileage - at least 2 or 3x). Team didn't give me a key to gold lock that locked the back of the truck and it was locked. When I called after having gotten to my final location, I had to call multiple times because the phone system wouldn't allow me to speak to anyone, and person answering the line wasn't too interested in helping solve this problem - other than come back. Missed my planned timelines due to having to find alternatives to not having a key.

Brett BI would like to state that I am not angry at the hard and decent workers at Oceanside. They answered every question I had with courtesy and enthusiasm. I am simply making this comment so that they can ensure what happened to me does not happen to anyone else. I booked a 15' Uhaul with a trailer to be picked up at 7am, over 30+ days before my leave date. The day before I go and pick up the items, a worker calls me and says "You are scheduled for 7am, our store does not open until 8am." (My plans have now been pushed by 1 hour.) I go to pick up the items and the gentleman says that he is only giving me a trailer. Both of us are now confused, because I show him my receipt. He informs me that I have to go to another location across town to get the truck. Luckily I have my personal truck that has a trailer hitch to hook up the trailer. So I drive to go get the vehicle at other location. The worker informs me that "We do not have any 15 footers, all we have is a 26 footer." I had no other options but to get the 26' Uhaul truck for a 1 bedroom apartment. There was more empty space in the 26 footer than there was items from my apartment. My frustration was that no one informed me that I had to go to two different locations nor that a 26 footer was all that was left. If I would had been informed sooner I would have reached out to other Uhaul locations that had a 15 footer. I had movers informed of specific times to be at my apartment, where they are paid by the hour. The two different locations cost me time and money.

MATT WThe person at the counter was extremely rude never looked me in the eye took a personal phone call on his own personal cell phone and then continued being rude before my transaction was over at one point I even told him that if this continued I was just going to walk out worst experience I've ever had renting any equipment. Please check your cameras at the time the contract was written and see what I'm talking about You will totally understand how rude this gentleman was.
Kevin AIt was wonderful. I know you all have the water fountain in the store, but can we give travelers water bottles to go? Maybe a whistle or something to keep them safe? If they keep it it is $5, if the return it, it is $5 added to the $4 return.

Katinka CThe appliance dolly and the blankets I paid for were not included. The missing appliance dolly was a major inconvenience for me because I had a very tight moving day scheduled and I couldn't wait for them to open to get it. It would have taken an hour round trip for me to go back to U-haul after it opened and drive back to my move. During that whole time, I would have been paying movers not do anything. As a result, I wasn't able to move my refrigerator and it was difficult to move other other major appliances. I called customer service multiple times and the other thing they could offer me was to drive back and get it, which was not possible. In situations like that, I think Uhaul should consider delivering missing equipment. At the very least, I should get a heavy discount for the inconvenience

Derek HI went to pick up a cargo van late at night using the app, which indicated that at least one vehicle was available at the location. However, when I arrived, there were no cargo vans on site. I contacted the customer service hotline, and the representative I spoke with was friendly and helpful. She confirmed that, according to the system, multiple cargo vans should have been available for 24/7 rental, but there were no alternative vehicles anywhere nearby. As a result, I had to return home without a solution. A couple of days later, I called the store directly to follow up. Unfortunately, the person I spoke with was abrupt and did not offer any apology or acknowledgment of the issue. It seems there is a disconnect in maintaining accurate inventory within the system. The customer service representative I spoke with that night was also friendly and apologetic and was also confused as to why our system was showing multiple vans available, but not on site, as her system clearly showed available vehicles that were not actually present. What was most frustrating was the lack of acknowledgment from whoever I spoke With of the store staff. Given the inconvenience caused—especially since I was relying on that cargo van for catering an event the next day—I would have appreciated at least some recognition of the disruption. The situation caused significant stress and inconvenience, and better system accuracy or communication could have prevented it.
Thierry MI don't remember the gentleman's name that helped me check out the utility trailer on Saturday the 18th of April, but he was awesome. I showed up close to closing time and told him the predicament I was in and he helped me out. If he's not up for promotion or a raise he should be.

BENEDICT DI had the biggest U-Haul truck so it’s a little hard to maneuver, but this place is spacious and easy. Someone had broken the driver‘s door lock and broke into the cab when I had the truck parked in elk Grove so we handled those problems and it was super easy.
SHANNON BThese days no one practices great customer service anymore. It's all about the mighty dollar... They definitely weren't looking out for my best interest. They were more interested in making money off of me. I don't think I will go back to this particular store. I don't think I can afford to. But I did appreciate that they had the equipment I needed.

Where my storage locker is close to the restroom there is a fowl oder of urine and it's very umplesent to be around. A plumbing issue sould be delt with in a timely manner. Access, I store tools there so sometimes I Need to access early if I have a job prior to 5am. I hope this email helps serve u and can help get at least the bathroom issue resolved. If someone is moving alot of things in it is very inconvenient that they have to leave and find a rest room.

Also, the 2nd level units had chicken wire as a ceiling which was weird to me. I feel like if someone wanted to, they could’ve fished things out of my unit undetected if they were motivated to do it. When initially purchasing the unit, I was told I couldn’t pre-pay for the 6-ish months that I planned to rent for but upon downloading the U-Haul app it became apparent that I could prepay for the upcoming months.
