My over all experience was great the uhaul representatives was very helpful, my visit was quick in and out with that being said I really don't see where the location need to improve in any area so I will say to uhaul keep up the good work being there when people's are in need of a rental equipment.

Jennifer MThe store didn't have the dolly I reserved, so I had to go to another store to get that. I paid extra because of the mileage, and had to pay extra to be able to return the dolly with the van. When I returned the van, 10th Avenue told me I had to take the dolly to the other store. When I showed the receipt and said I paid $5 extra to return it with the van, they told me that was the regular price. So the whole thing costs me an extra hour and mileage. The other store did refund the $5 for local vs. one way.

DANIEL RMy confirmed order was for a 9' Cargo Van to be picked up at U-Haul Moving & Storage at Box Rd. 1700 Box Rd. Columbus, GA 31907. The day before pick up it was swiched to 930 10th Ave. I was given a 10' Box Truck which felt like it was about to fall apart with every bump in the road. This was also out of my way and cost me more in milage. Never had an experience like this before with U-Haul.
ARTHUR GI was over charged. I had the truck two days but was charging for four because they failed to check it it. Also I could not make a split payment.
ISSIAH BThe app check in needs to be similar and more informative. Was not able to tell if I successfully returned my equipment so that I'm not charged the fee for a rep to check in the following day.

ROBERT BThe gentleman that helped us was very nice. The app to check the condition of the truck out wouldn't work. We reported this to him. We were told not to worry, it was o.k. The truck was in rough shape, inside and out. Lots of scratches, dents, seats were very worn and cracked.The ramp had chuncks of mud, rocks and dirt on it. We needed to sweep it before we could use it. It did, however run fine, all the lights worked. When we returned it, the app to check it in after hours wouldn't work. So, we were charged an additional $20.00 convince fee.
LINDA DPickup and dropoff went smoothly and both associates were pleasant and professional.
PATRICK CI wish the sales rep that helped me would have walked me out to the truck that I would have been using instead I had to walk around and find the truck and it was freezing cold overall it's still good service.

JOHN WGet some CSR's who're knowledgeable about the product and want the client to be pleased with the service. That way they won't have to keep transferring you to someone who knows less than the one that they just transferred from. Give the reps and info about what rentals are where; scripts and FAQs so that they won't try and get creative and tell the client bald-faced lies. The 10th Ave, Columbus, GA was pretty good but the service by phone was horrible. The phone went dead too many times when they didn't want to deal with the situation or they didn't know how.
ANNIE SAt no point was the process explained on how mileage and fees work. I was just given paper to sign and told “Might as well keep it till Monday because it’s the cost the same “. We was completely mislead about the 49.99 per day and posted charges to my account before even asking or discussing anything. Explain my concern to U-Haul employees and they could have cared less.

DEWAYNE BThe process is easy and user friendly. The staff is attentive and polite. The only point of contention is the size of the customee parking area. There are so many rentals present it leaves little room for parking or maneuvering for hook up. However, it is still doable for an experienced operator. Thank you.

UHURU HReservation was switched there for a pick up so no hit to this location. However the original pick up location and the end destination dropped the ball. Won’t use again! Charge $41 for gas when I was supposed to be compensated for using my personal automobile to get to the new pick up spot.

AMERICO DBeing told there’s nothing he can do and not calling the previous customer at 9 am when the truck wasn’t there for drop off and I showed up at 10 am for my reservation is ridiculous. Why couldn’t you call the previous customer and then inform me over the phone that the truck wasn’t available. Get more organized if you’re going to be running a business based on appointments and reservations.

James SI waited in an empty showroom for 15 minutes. The contracting process is WAAAYYYY too slow and requires your physical presence and a smartphone app. Where else do you shop that requires that? The mileage on my contract was off by over 50,000 miles. The employee did not update the mileage in the computer. Before I left, I looked in the back of the truck and the pads I reserved and paid for were not in the back. I had to then wait on that. I ended up spending nearly 45 minutes without anyone ahead of me in line. It was annoying to say the least.

I didn't feel comfortable dropping the car towing equipment at the burnt down building I was directed to go to, instead of the Uhaul place actually being run, and in a safer location in town. I work for the government and would not leave anything at the destroyed business. I still had to unpack the truck. So I was told when I needed to be back with the truck, to avoid late fees. We drove straight through from Oklahoma and at 55 miles per hour in a truck whose brakes were very questionable, it was not a good drive. I also am a licensed CDL Driver, and that Uhaul which I reported should not be rented out until thorough maintenance was completed, was messed up. Anyway we arrived safely. And if I were to get a position with a state agency, I would not hesitate to to lease at the 930 10th Ave Columbus, GA 31901, location. The young man he help me start and close my 1133 storage rental is amazing and needs an award, or monetary bonus of some kind. Thank you for being there for my family. Respectfully, Lydia B. Unfortunately the climate-controlled unit is exceedingly hot and does not have as much vertical space as I would like. Also the layout of the facility makes it difficult to access your unit even with a small vehicle and it is difficult if not impossible for multiple customers to access units simultaneously. I'm not certain what the employee parking situation is but an employee vehicle had to be moved in order to facilitate the relocation of the rented trailer from near my unit to the desired return/drop-off location.

Jeraquis C | Overall ExperienceThe problem with the UHaul storage was not the local location, but Uhaul itself. I set up an autopay that NEVER worked - not once did the autopay withdraw funds from my account, try as I might to get it to work. When I called the UHaul national phone number to request help and a refund for a late charge applied despite setting up autopay, the person on the phone refused to help, stating that the fault lay with my bank. They claimed that the funds took a couple more days after the due date to process, which was allegedly my bank's fault. When I tried to have autopay set up for another, earlier date to ensure payments went through on time, I was informed this was not possible. Then I monitored autopay only to find it NEVER withdrew funds at all. I have taken my business elsewhere. While I am a fan of UHaul's trucks and moving services, I was quite disappointed with the customer service I received on this matter calling the national number.

Your representative gave me a temporary access card to enter the building I left Uhal shorty to retrieve my unit key from home. When I returned couldn't open my unit because there was still a lock on it hours later after I made my past do payment. Having walked in the rain for a employee assistant to remove the lock so I can enter my unit. When I entered the unit I noticed water dripping down the wall of the unit and a puddle on the ground my things where wet. To many issues that could have been handled better.

This was very inconvenient and a bit of a hassle. After a month they finally got it fix. Probably because they were tired of having to let me in weekly. Other that that it was good and if we ever needed to store our belongings again we would consider this location.

I was told to come back later and ask office staff to let me into the card-gated hallway to access the unit. I was not told the unit number. Office staff were obviously overworked and too busy for pleasantries. These issues are not the fault of the staff, but the fault of Uhaul. Uhaul needs to provide their staff with adequate resources to do their jobs effectively. Based on this experience I will not use Uhaul for future needs, as their pricing does not reflect their ability to deliver on a consistent and reliable product.
Justin g | First ImpressionsWhen booking the space online from out of state, I selected the size I need and a unit that was described as “drive up exterior”. When we arrived, that is not what we got. Instead we had a unit that was inside a storage building, at the end of a long & narrow hall, with a pole in the middle of the unit. We refused the unit for these reasons. The associate took us back inside and offered us a larger unit, which we accepted. Although the unit was still inside, the hall was wider and the unit was closer to the entrance. When finishing up the rental agreement at the counter, I was asked if I needed to buy a lock; I said no, I had one. It was not pointed out that a specific type of lock was required. A couple weeks later when we return to get a few things out of storage, there’s a second lock on our unit with a tag for non-payment. We go to the office because a payment hasn’t even been due yet. We were advised that it was because we weren’t using the right type of lock, and that housekeeping would continue to put the additional lock on, and we would have to come during office hours to have them unlock it. We weren’t happy about this, but said fine. The next time we came, the additional lock is on there and we are now informed that a charge for the lock has been added to our account. I will take ownership that the agreement requires this type of lock, so I paid the fee for the lock without complaint. However, the handling of this is very poor. Rather than lock a paying customer out of their unit, you should at LEAST call to inform them at the first notice. Also, this should truly be explained up front, as I would not have known the difference in lock styles in just reading the agreement. To wrap it all up, we cleared out our unit on 06/13/20, and followed the online instructions for move out on 06/14/20. The move out was not processed until 06/30/20, when I called because I received notice that payment would be due soon. Overall, we only had the unit for 3 months and it was a bad experience from start to finish with customer service. The unit was clean, secure, and well-lit, but the parking and access to the lot is also not ideal; many times we were stuck waiting for others to move a truck or trailer they were renting/dropping off and causing congestion in the lot.
