The customer service was below average when I arrived. The trucks were parked about 6” away and made it extremely challenging to enter vehicles. It was simple to schedule though.

The desk attendant was very distracted and more concerned about her side conversation with the other employees than getting me checked out. I waited patiently at the desk until she was done chatting about her pregnancy, her diet, Sonic slushes, etc. Throughout the process, the side conversation continued.

The staff on site seemed very nonchalant about the entire process. The employee I spoke to on the phone was very nice but once I arrived to the location, the other employees behind the desk were both on personal FaceTime calls while the person helping me seemed to be struggling. One of the employees was complaining about something to do with overtime and was throwing out profanity with every other word. Once the contract was finally completed, the truck I was given was “somewhere outside.” Come to find out it was somewhere in the back, not one of the front four trucks of that size staged and ready to go. I had to go back in to ask the employee that had originally helped me to just help me find the truck and once he found it and pulled it up, it was covered in snow, and was missing a wiper blade. No one seemed eager to help at any point. Horrible experience.

The reason I have given a below average score is that my truck scheduled for pickup @ 11: 00, was delayed for a half hour due to a network issue.This contributed to keeping the movers we hired from U-Haul longer which added $100 additttional charge. The movers are awesome workers but when your system fails you shouldn't cause extra expense for customer.

One employee in particular had a real attitude. He cut me off when I tried to explain that the fuel gauge on my assigned truck wasn't on full, even though I was required to return it on full. He reluctantly assigned another truck to me, not without making it obvious that I had somehow inconvenienced him by requiring him to do his job. The girl who checked me in was slow but she was fine. I have already recommended my friends use a different location.

I got charged a fuel surcharge fee. I drove 22 miles. I put five dollars of gas into the tank and you charge me 30 fucking dollars.

The employees were sitting around and they told me they didn’t want to do my contract cus she just didn’t feel like it. So she passed me along to another co worker. And the co worker said the same thing and refused to assist me. So they sent me down the line at the counter and the male employee seemed very uninterested and showed disinterest in assist em and just game me the key and sent me off not explaining anything or showing me to the uhal in the sea of tricks. I’ve been to quite a few uhals and this was not at the top of my exercises. I hope you can use this as a learning and growing experience.

The customer service was very good. The truck we rented was in poor condition. There was a hole in the roof. My husband covered our cargo with a tarp to keep the furniture dry. The left headlight was broken. We drove from Topeka Kansas in the dark with one working headlight.

The three staff were exceedingly slow and preoccupied with themselves. Getting their attention when I came in was hard enough as each was trying to avoid helping - it was a maybe a half hour before close. But it was even harder keeping my agent on task, then bonus round, a different reservation needed to be made after the first one as we were dropping the equipment in a different city - which I’d made clear earlier.

I had been at this storage for 18 months When Xavier became Mgr Thier my storage became a problem in my life. I was threatening auctioned I was verbally told if I didn't pay...etc. I don't know who this guy fooled into becoming a Mgr but he is sneaky ,rude, unprofessional. I even rented a truck from downtown location cause all I wanted with him was to remove my property. He has to be friends with someone in U-Haul I have been using Uhaul and never seen so much negativity.

I am writing about 3429 Troost in Kansas City...terrible situation - says 24 hr drop-off but the gate was locked on Sunday evening at 6 pm. Has number to call - which we did and they had no idea what to do. Had a trailer parked on a difficult spot with heavy traffic trying to figure this out - just a horrible situation. We ended up finally getting ahold of U-Haul and they sent us to the 3100 Main St Ste 10 site. Very upset about this entire situation.

Unfortunately, my entire experience at this location was not great. When I went to pick up my U-Haul at 6am (which I had scheduled ahead of time), it was blocked in by multiple vans and trailers, so I couldn't take it off the lot. I had to come back an hour later when the office opened and the gentleman who was working was unfriendly, did not apologize for the earlier mishap, and seemed annoyed that I was there. He said we couldn't go into the building due to central air issues, so we (multiple people) had to sit in his U-Haul truck (which was odd) while he found me another vehicle. I had to remind him that I needed dollies and pads, otherwise we wouldn't have given them to us and the new U-Haul I received was almost out of gas, so I had to refuel immediately. The entire experience set back moving back an hour or more. I understand that things happen, but at the very least an apology or some kindness from staff would have helped offset a frustrating start to our moving day.

I wouldn’t recommend the location as the area itself is dangerous. I’ve only been by 2 times where there wasn’t someone fighting the staff or someone without housing causing a ruckus in the parking lot. It’s just a dangerous spot for staff and renters alike.

Communication was poor, especially when the elevators went out. Yes, Both elevators went out of commission on the same day and my unit was on the 3rd floor. I had rented a truck and hired help on that day, and you all screwed me royally. It was not just inconvenient, but you cost me a lot of money. You all can communicate perfectly when you want to be paid OR the NUMEROUS times you raised my rental fee. I have had rental units before, and no one ever raised my fee. This is the LAST place I would ever rent a unit from again.

But there is a supervisor their I highly appreciate for her help who needs to be recommended to call on BECOUSE she understands and in some way is willing to help. As long as your in compliance with uhausl's rules...I learned a valuable lesson as well . That is be carefull of the help you hire to move your things. They can cost you money time and your peace if they are not true to the work and have their own vendetta ! Like stealing along the way. But yes she did that! The staff are second to none. Always friendly, helpful and happy. Unfortunately I was misguided on the storage rates. I wanted a large unit for my clothes and one wasn't available. So I was assigned 2 smaller units that almost added up to what I needed but way less convenient on separate floors. Then I was charged a rate that was way higher than the large unit I requested and inconvenient as well. So I moved my storage to someone who gave 2 smaller units on the same floor while I wait for a large unit to become available and am being charged the rate that I would be paying for what I requested until that size comes available. THAT'S customer service. You don't punish a customer monetarily because you don't have what they need immediately.

I hope that my reasons for leaving doesnt hurt my relationship and future business with uhaul I caught covid early on and fell behind on payments for a storage and the manager Nichols Shaw was so understanding and uhaul so helpful during my hospitalization and offered me and way to save my things I just wanted to say I really appreciate you uhaul when I thought all was lost and thought I wouldn't make it thru covid 19 knowing that my personal belongings were safe and I could come retrieve them thank you thank you thank you love you guts for that because with the payment agreement i just didnt kbow how I was goibg to pay for and thought I surely lost it . ❤❤ its so nice to see companys that care about there customers and understand this pandemic. The stall that was given to me was still full and he moved me over to the next stall that he said was larger but it did not look like it to me. And I have to pay more then I was quoted. I am glad it is going to be temporary until I get a larger home and I will be measuring it when I go back. But it is nice and clean other then having to pay almost $25.00 more a month and a stall that might be smaller.

The day staff was extremely helpful. Raquan helped with literally all of my issues, which made the storage process much easier. Nicole made sure that once I was locked out (after 10pm) that my things left in the hallway were stored safely until I returned the next day. The only thing the storage facility needs are larger elevators. My sofa and queen sized box spring had to be carried up 2 flights of stairs which was a painful process. But I like how secure the building is, and the employees were helpful.

To whom it may concern I rented a truck that was on E they said it was going to credit my money back to me for putting the gas in the truck when I call about my money they said they credited to my account when I checked my account my storage balance was still the same when I rented the truck the very first time they overcharge double charge whatever you want to call it for $92 and some change tell me to call my bank because they credited my money back to my card and my bank said they never did they didn't see any credits of them returning my money and they didn't credited to my account because my balance it never went down and never changed nothing so when they say they're going to credit your money back they don't credit your money back they don't add it to your account none of that they give you the run-around the and they don't give you anything back like they say they do are they say they will so no I will not recommend, not at all.... thanks for your services......

During this time of crisis and uncertainty. My daughter is at university in Kansas City and we live in Canada . It was a rush and a panic to get my daughter home then to hear a day later her school was closing and she needed to be out of her dorm in 3 days . Nicole was an amazing help with setting everything up online and over the phone , as where the 3 call centre Agents I needed to speak to . Your staff has been an amazing help and comfort . We got everything moved in and secured by my daughter’s roommates. . Hopefully we will be able to move her Back into dorms when school resumes in August , and we will be back to work with U-Haul for summer break over the next 4 years.

The only drawback was not being able to access the storage unit later in the evening. Other than that, each time I was onsite, the staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly!!!!

Booked a rental in Bellingham which was changed to Ferndale. In the end, I cancelled the booking. Booking with UHaul is like a moving target,locations keep changing.

Lot attendant was on personal phone and walked away as I entered. GM and staff person were unbelievably rude, argumentative and unhelpful. Worst service I've received in years.

The staff went above and beyond to accommodate me and I really appreciate them. The access being shared w/ the bank means the hours are less convenient but it worked out fine.
