The safety cable was broken still they let me use it and one of the ramp was stuck could not use it had to hire a tow truck.for my towing.

You took a deposit from me when i picked up vehicle and when I dropped it off you could not return deposit due to system issues. I actually had to go back again the next day. This is only problem I had. Staff were great.

The check-in process was slow (multiple people in line) despite having made my reservation online. The trailer I got had not been cleaned and was mud caked. Despite that, the trailer was safe and did what I needed. Dropping off the trailer was quick and efficient.

I thought I could drop the trailer I rented at Lac La Biche - I was told I had to return it to the 50th St location. That was not what I had planned - so I had to adjust my day to make the return trip. I should have been told that when I booked the trailer … also, when I booked the trailer it was for the 17 St location - when I got there, I was told I had to go to the 50th St location … again, poor communication.

Booked a dolly, got there and all they had was a furniture dolly or appliance dolly. They hooked up the trailer and got a call it was the wrong one. Dolly was missing pieces and completely useless. I haven't had a good rental from U-Haul in years, time to buy my own trailer. Will never tell anyone to use your company

Hassle-free return experience. As soon as I drove into the lot, a courteous worker approached me and disconnected the trailer, ensured my payment details were accurate and I was free to go with 2 minutes. The staff need to have a CHECKLIST to remind clients what they need to know, come with, when they go to remove their items from storage. For example, I didn’t know that I needed to BOOK a TRUCK at least ONE MONTH before. We ended doing 2 trips that cost me $50.00 more instead of just an extra $10.00 more for a bigger truck. 2. Key to open the unit. If only I was reminded! 3. Customer Service employees were very RUDE and defensive and totally unprofessional when I proposed that they should adopt having a checklist. NOT a great customer experience, I’m afraid. And and…being open to improvements would have made it better

On many occasions I had to ask for extra cleanup from other people leaving trash behind. Main automatic doors to my storage building found left unsecured and in automatic open mode after regular business hours. Mice droppings found in areas inside and around my unit even with no food stored inside requested to have bate traps refilled told to leave outside the unit only have them removed altogether. Several occasions over the years unable to find sufficient staff to help with issues and finding hallways almost and even sometimes completely blocked with abandoned items. When brought to staff attention always told "oh someone should have taken care of this". Only to see rates rise every year for increased cost of care and security for the facility. What a laugh. Will not recommend uhaul storage to anyone ever. Glad I have finally emptied out and closed my storage locker. Closed my locker this weekend. Came into the office ignored by staff the first time, came back later to close out my locker staff took my locker number never asked my name or for ID no signature on anything just, " it's taken care of." Shake some heads and retrain some staff.

Fantastic experience with onsite manager. A breath of fresh air, manages well formal young age, great problem solver and always with a smile. Yard crew fantastic with trailer holdup and return. Snow removal needs to be addressed in yard however, as well as paving. Front pavement and manhole protrusions from incorrect grading benchmark needs to be addressed because with a loaded heavy trailer it is like driving through land mines.. units need to have lighting installed inside. I moved to an independent uhual closer to home for 24 access, well lit and large unit and better value for dollar. It cost me over $600 to do so between help, rental l, new deposit fees and keys etc etc. the is said, far cheaper rate too. In any case I have used U-Haul for sometime now and overalll had 10 pit of 10 service from manager to yard crew. Thank you guys. I did not use my first month free storage unit that I planned on using to store and sort out my valuable personal belongings of mine and my deceased mother's things because I didn't trust or feel that it was safe enough to use I did not believe it was secure enough to put my things at risk so I never did even use it to sort my stuff out for a month I had stored it for a very long time out in Manitoba at another storage place that was very secure with gated security. And I wasn't about to take the chance of losing it after hauling it all away from Manitoba to Edmonton. Anybody could just drive up and break into your storage unit here quick and easy and be gone before anybody knew the difference!

The only downside of my experience was that my expectation of the outside storage lockers was that they would be sealed against dirt and dust. They weren't and had I known everything would have a veneer of dust and I guess road dirt over everything I would have bought some drop cloths or sheets to seal off my chattels from this Insidious dirt. So would I rent again from U-Haul of course now that I'm a prized of what's necessary to keep everything clean and this may be the case with all other outdoor storage facilities I don't know but now that I do know what to look out for I'll be looking out for it

I went back to my locker to get stuff a few years ago and their was mouse feaces all over my stuff in the boxes it was discussing. I was told that it would be taken care of but I cleaned as much as I could up with my mom. I was in a bad accident so I haven been able to go to my locker. When I went on Thursday August 8 2024 I had my lock cut off and I was shocked so was the lady helping me. We both looked at my unit and it was invaded in dirt I mean really bad worse than just writing your name in dirt I had run my suitcase back and forth many time to get to the black under it. All of my stuff in my locker is discussing and covers in a lot of dirt. Further more I was told when I have my unit a year they would give free month for the years I had my unit. I never got 1 free month. I am very disappointed in u haul on 50th all my thing are wrecked. I was sent this because the young lady who helped me said that was so wrong it should not be dirty like that and no mouse poop. I hope this case is taken seriously, this is not ok and not how u haul storage should be. Please call me back about this issues and what can be done. Thank you Sincerely Shannon Beauregard

Wonderful staff but the automatic sliding door being locked during regular business hours was extremely frustrating. Moving carts through a heavy swing door that can’t easily be propped open is difficult due to it being much more narrow and also the lip to get through the door. Nearly every time I came to do something in my unit, often during the mid day regular business hours, the sliding doors to the main buildings storage area (the east side sliding doors visible from 50th st) were unusable making moving items in or out much more difficult.

I was in ontario dealing with estate matters got backand left messages still no call and my stuff was apparently sold. I know I owed money but I would have figured out how to make the payment now I don't care about my personal stuff but I do care about the things from passed family members that I will never get back. So sad. But due to uhaul 50st I will never pay another cent or use any services from uhaul. So here is to ALL the uhaul employees that make decisions like this when you loose family members...hope you loose all your precious memories too. 🖕

There were not Dolly's in the front of our storage building, like promised, we called to ask for some, told someone would bring one over, but it never came. We had to move everything by ourselves, luckily we made it out okay, but it cause unessesary struggle for us.

Mice infiltrated the unit and destroyed 2x mattresses. Was given a month rent discount to compensate which covered 20% of replacement costs. However this caused auto generated emails informing a lien has been placed against my things and that action works be taken against me. Trying to rectify this led to spending 2 hours combined on hold trying to speak to someone to clear this matter up.

50th Street Uhaul was great 👍🏼 I stored items in a '10x18x10 Drive Up Unit' for about 48 months/4 years. *Be aware these units are not climate controlled aka your stuff is at the mercy of the elements. *Mice will be interested in anything that smells like food

On 3 different occasions in 3 different years, there have been problems with the computer system causing long waiting periods. The location on 50th Street in Edmonton desperately needs more staff inside as I have been there at different times at people have stood almost 5-10 deep waiting as there were only 2 available, one doing only truck pickups. When I tried to call in, I was put on hold for 30 minutes so that I opted to go in in person. The staff, however, were very friendly and helpful.

Uhaul Trucks ALWAYS parked in front of my unit. Whenever I needed in it I couldn’t cause there was a truck blocking my unit

I was late with a payment and phoned beforehand to make a payment arrangment.My unit for storage was 135$ a month. I was charged 50 lien fee a 50 pre lien fee and 2 /10$ late charges and a 15 dollar late charge. 135 in late fees. Absolutely ridiculous. I used to use Uhaul quite often. I will never frequent this buisness again. I have found a unit with another company that is 3x the size for the same price. So my advive is shop around and DO NOT USE UHAUL FOR YOUR NEEDS.

I wish there was overhead vehicle coverage for inclement weather. I wish it was easier to get access to moving carts. I was not able to figure out 1- how to get sliding doors to open/work. So , also not able to determine if sliding doors can be positioned in open mode and not always open/ close with each pass through with boxes.

I set up my unit in person while I was renting the trailer I was using to move. The front desk attendant took my credit card, and I asked if the payments would be automatic. She assured me that they would. My first month's hadn't come out and when I called I was told was told the first month was overdue because there was no automatic credit card on file. I asked them to make a payment and set me up for automatic payment. My second month was also late and when I called, the attendant told me that it was because no one activated it on the account. Since then, I have paid for a facility where food and items were left in the hallway, and the alarm seemed to always be going off when I got there. When I asked if I set the alarm off, the attendant said that no, I hadn't, and that it just goes off every time something happens. Which appears to be 6 times an hour during busy time. There also were times when a cart wasn't available for my building. I know it's a courtesy, but it still would have been nice to have one.

I came in to check into my unit about 25 mins before closing. I was trying to get there earlier but this move has been very challenging. Robyn helped me and was amazing. She helped me make sure I had the right unit that worked for me and easily able to move in. She even directed me to McDonald's while I waited for my brother to show with the truck because I hadn't eaten all day. When I went to eat I saw a reflection of myself in a window and I was an aweful disheveled mess. Yet when I was checking into unit Robyn still treated me great. Would definitely recommend this location and I would use them again both for storage and truck rental.

Latch on door was bent and very hard to open and close. Staff were aware but never fixed it. Only issue with staff was when I moved out I was driving a large truck and when I went in to close account I didn't realize I had parked in front of disabled parking. The staff member who addressed it was very inappropriate. Instead of simply asking for the vehicle to be moved he went on a long winded explanation of why, yelling it across a very busy store. Needless to say it was very embarrassing and rather than close the account I left.

I made a reservation at the facility in 154th street, on arriving there, I was redirected to 50th street without letting me know the prices are not the same. I arrived at the facility (50th street Edmonton) the first sets of staffs were helpful, after storing my items, I went and gave the keys to the front desk, she insisted i return it under the blue canopy, of which i did and went back inside. I gave her the keys but she refused to collect it , she said I didnt park the truck under the blue canopy, that I parked outside the facility, I explained that was another dark skinned guy that she should collect the keys and verify , she insisted and told me she would loose it if she found out I was lying, she eventually checked and saw my Truck parked under the blue canopy but she didn’t acknowledged her mistake or apologized for threatening and calling a customer a liar. Please kindly look into this as this should not be happening to customers.

There was a little confusion about using both key pads ( I only saw the one initially). Initially there was no cart available and the loading doors stayed locked and closed. The attendants were able to correct all this easily and quickly once I told them.

I found that the light sensors in inside unit only work for a max of 10-15 minutes so when I was organizing the lights went out. Also mice chewed through drywall. I don’t like bait boxes inside the units. Mouse poop located there. It also was very cold inside. Things would freeze. I found a much cleaner unit elsewhere

When it takes 48 to 72 hours for staff to answer the phone lines in this facility, that is completely unacceptable. I've also been in line and watched how the staff answer the calls. "Hello uhaul 50st hold please?" They don't even allow the caller to indicate they've been on hold already for hours. This always bothered me about your facility.

We were very disappointed that we could not purchase contents insurance from your company. We have moved out of the country and therefore do not have home owners insurance. We had to terminate our contract and move our things to a different company. It took us two days of driving from Olds to Edmonton and back to get everything done. This is not the first mix up we have had with U-Haul and we are reluctant to even rent a truck again.

One of the employees crashed a uhaul truck and blamed me for the damagaes! After I paid for the insurance and everything and I seen the damages where the wreck was done but nothing was done or said about it and the employee ended up with a raise! And the employee they call nick is a terribly rude over bearing employee with no respect to the patrons of uhaul! Steve O on the other hand is the best employee that uhaul has to offer he was the most helpful and respectful employee at that branch and I just thought that he should be recognized because he is an amazing hard worker!!

Facility was fine. Staff were helpful. Only problem was 3 weeks after storage unit was emptied, I began to receive email and phone calls reminding me that rent was due. It took a couple of phone calls to sort it out but it was dealt with.

The door closing mechanism on my storage unit is faulty and difficult to open and close. It either needs to be replaced or maintained as it is rusty.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. wouldn't recommend or want to use this service myself ever again. All personnel from the in-store staff to customer service seem very incompetent at their job. Some of the most clueless people I've ever talk to. First they send me a notification that I had checked out of my storage unit when I wasn't even in town and still had 2 more weeks left. I called them several times but no response, eventually I had to drive 3hrs back to town to make sure all my belongings were still there. When I got there they told me my locker was broken into and was empty so they replaced the lock on it. They went looking for the keys but 20mins later couldn't find them. The staff I was dealing with didn't look very intelligent so I lost confidence in them and took it upon myself to walk to the locker and have a look myself, sure enough my key worked and all my belongings were still there. Then 2 weeks later I was moving my stuff out and had made a reservation for a truck a month ahead of time, the day before my truck rental I received a call and I was told the truck I had made the reservation for wasn't available and I'll need to drive 60km out of town to pick one up. I didn't have a choice so I went to pick up the truck, but when I went to return the truck to the location I had picked online, I found out that they had also changed the drop off location to a place 40km away from the location I had reserved online. Called customer service several times to resolve this issue and every time I called I came across someone with their age higher than their IQ. Eventually I realized it was a losing battle, you can't reason with those that aren't equipped for it.

Unit was not the size I wanted to rent. Staff would not believe me even with pictures of tape measure showing size. A total waste of my time. Long line up to rent unit. Second line up to ask questions about the size. Then wait to cancel. Not impressed.

The area in front of our locker was often blocked by cars or rental equipment, making it difficult to move in and out. Otherwise, the facility was excellent.

One of the worst services out there that shouldn't be allowed to exist. I was told I had moved out when all my belongings were still at the unit. I was out of town at the moment. When I found out I had supposedly checked out I called the office but nobody picked up the phone for 6 straight calls. Then I made the trip down there and went to see it in person, there they told me my locker was empty and I had checked out. They couldn't find my info in the system. They didn't seem very smart or sure about anything in life, so I walked up to the locker myself and had a look inside and everything was still there intact.

Spent 90 min to rent a space ,after was rented i go back and forward several, times and the distance was considerable, because the access code was not working ,when finally was working the storage room had someone lock on , I was told (in very bad way ) to wait until The lady will be available to come with me and fix the problem . The waiting line was long till the door (around 7-8 people ) so i have to cancel after almost 2 hours spent there.

I lost half of my belongs while transferring to a smaller unit. Upon asking one of the attendants to hold my stuff until the next day so I could get more helpers, to my shock and disappointment found that instead of helping me my stuff had been taken to an auction. I lost all of my camping gear and much more. Your company is greedy and only serves there own needs which is to make more money. I am very disappointed with your organization. No matter how big your company grows with our trust and good gusty service you will lose more than win.

I waited on the phone an hour and cancelled my locker back on March 30th, then I received an email 2 days ago saying that another storage payment was due. Had to once again call in and wait on hold for another hour just to cancel the 2nd time. Terrible service, would not use again.

I was given a free month of storage that went with the move i did.. i had my things in there for literally less then 2 weeks in total, they have been charging me even after i was out, for several months now and refused to listen when i told them several times i only used it for 2 weeks of my Free month.. they are con artest scammers and steal from people anyway they can..

Your system was down when I said I moved out of the storage locker. Was told I would receive my receipt following day. Never received it and you tried to charge me over 200 dollars for a unit I was no longer in.

I moved out of my unit many months ago and you’ve still been charging me. My locks were taken off my stuff was all removed. Doors were left open. I let them know in the office. I had two units originally, and only one was a continuing charge.Long story short I’ll never use you guys again.
