Great Customer Service by all store representatives!
EDDIE JSomehow my reservation was not in the computer when I arrived. The trailer that I needed was not available. I needed a 5x8 with a ramp. No 5x8's were available with a ramp I was hot.. But the young lady that opened the store that morning went over and above to make sure that I left there with a trailer that suited what I needed it for. She showed me a 4x9 motorcycle trailer with a ramp that worked just fine, Kunyesia Brights's service was excellent. She even sold me a hitch ball and pin. Thanks Ms. Bright
DUANE WStop being deceptive and charging in the miles the customer uses when they know they haven't traveled those specific amount of miles. Just because a customer is busy moving doesn't mean they don't check their receipts.

CAS RI reserved my truck and the equipment I needed to get our job done, well in advanced! we knew we needed the two different Dollie’s you have one for appliance and the other for furniture. I reserved the both of them . When came to get the truck we were told that neither of the dollies were available because it was a first come first serve basis…. Others before us had asked to get them,,, Then why are we reserving the equipment?. My help had to move the furniture without dollies and my Dinnett server was dropped due to men having to haul the furniture and appliances manually without equipment to help them I was not happy about this , it seems if equipment is reserved it should be keep for the reservation and no just first come customers . What about my concerns , the need to have a dolly we should be told that from the beginning.!

JACARY BI did not take any moving pads. I did not need them. I was quite upset about the overall cost of my move. It was not as explained. I didn’t realize that it was $225 every time they dropped off one of the boxes and I had two. I feel like I would’ve chosen a different method of moving Had I had been told what the final number would be. When they came to pick up the boxes on Friday, March 28, they also knocked over all my bulk garbage in the front yard and it was blowing all over the place. They could’ve at least picked up what they knocked over. So to me that’s unacceptable. But it’s done over with and next time I most likely will hire a mover.

GARY WWe reserved a 15’ truck for pickup at 10am in Chesapeake, VA. My reservation was changed, without notice or a phone call, to a 20’ truck in Portsmouth, VA, requiring us to pay a toll to not only pick up the truck but to go to our destination. Then we got there just to be informed that our rental wasn’t available. She said we had to take a cargo van, which was not big enough and ended up costing me more money due to not being able to take our belongings to our new home, several hours north. They were rude, using their personal phones while trying to assist us, and were not helpful.

HERIBERTO CI do NOT like how U-Haul kept increasing the storage fee. If the company wouldn’t have done that I would still be renting the space. I think this is not just U-Haul but an industry-wide practice. The staff at this location is/was very helpful and courteous and all interactions with them were pleasant. It is the company practice I have a problem with. The facility was always kept clean even if it was a bit tight sometimes this winter navigating a vehicle behind the gated area with all the U-Haul trucks parked there. I understand the necessity for protecting their assets though and find no fault with them for that. It wasn’t like that in the warmer months so I suspect that most people aren’t moving in the winter and the crowdedness will be remedied in the Springtime.
Tanya N | Overall ExperienceThis whole inter-state moving process with U-boxes was stressful and a nightmare for me. First, my movers through Uhaul's Movinghelp bailed. Then, once, my Uboxes arrived at the destination, the staff there set up one of the U-boxes on the wrong side of the trailer. My movers couldn't open it. They had to bring it back to the store only to find out the person who operated the forklift had left so they couldn't fix it for us. Had to wait another day. My movers also couldn't come back the next day to deliver my stuff. They had to book another mover for me which was a waste of time, and the new movers were rude. The whole experience was brutal.

DARRYL OI had an issue because I was notified hours before I must pick up a truck from another location which caused me to have to pay for more mileage which was an inconvenience on Uhaul and I wasn't accommodate.

DONOVAN MWhen I showed up, I told them I needed a one way vehicle and they ensured me that it would be okay. When I got to my destination I was informed that I had to return my vehicle to the original location. This was upsetting since I was on military orders and had little to no time. I had to pay more than originally told, and had to pay for an additional day just for travel with an empty unit. This was a horrible deception and I will not be using this location again.

September 2024: First the disrespect from your worker Maurice to myself and my daughter, then the observance of the lock I purchased from your company, having been changed and removed, with so much of my mama's personal property being removed from the Ubox without my permission, just stolen and allowed by your company. Then the continued disrespect from the Uhaul insurance company representating Uhaul, I have decided to Gift the Ubox and the contents to the Uhaul company. Gifted from myself and my mother who passed away June 2023. Sham on you Uhaul. You seem to really need it. No more payment will be made for the Ubox or its contents, as it has now been gifted to you Uhaul. Now I will move froward without support from Uhaul. If you got in that means you have a code. So why would you need one to get out. And if it do stay in place that should be accessible from your car also.

I came back to VA and was sent to Airline Blvd to store my items for a free month so I could get everything straight. The staff at this location was unreal. Immediately got me into a size unit that was convenient for storing my items. They understand I was in a situation that no one wants to be in and honestly took care of me. I worked with 2 younger guys at first ( I wish I could remember their names because they deserve a shout out ) and then finished up with Tyeva. These humans do not understand how much they all contributed to helping me out and I will forever hold gratitude for them. Uhaul better treat them right!

My unit was due Nov 3rd but I emptied it Nov 4th and the full payment was still taken out of my account. The office personnel was told the week before of my intention s. New requirements should be made for situations like this.

I got a code for the gate to move stuff into storage, and it didn’t work at all. I called the storage manager today to have a rude manager tell me “we only do that for out of state moves” and for the code “you have to get a card”. No email I ever got told me about a card and the code didn’t even work the initial time which was what she told me it was for. Also, why would the website tell me my first month was free when I signed up if it’s not actually free! Poor advertising and exceptionally poor customer service.

Then had to walk all the way around to get back in because there is no key pad on that side of the bldging. Then tried to use the cart and ramps. The concrete ramp was broken on the end so created a VERY LARGE LIP to try and get over. The cart had a broken wheel most likely broken by the very large lip. Our furniture Dolly couldn’t even maneuver well over this lip. Made it VERY MISERABLE AND DIFFICULT TO MOVE IN. ADDITIONALLY the door shut and locked us out while trying to move in so I had to walk to a different door to let us in. All in All it was a very frustrating move in with many a cuss word spoken!! 😡. SO NOT HAPPY WITH THIS EXPERIENCE!!

When we finally arrived with a huge 26ft uhaul and a car being towed, they told us there are no units available. You can imagine the panic we felt that moment. Apparently uhaul (corporate) will overbook things but the units themselves are “first come first serve” at this location. Having said that, the staff accommodated us rather quickly and ended up finding a unit that just emptied out which was perfect for our things. Their customer service was fantastic and the people working there are very accommodating and work hard. Can’t say enough good things about this location. Hopefully uhaul corporate can correct this booking issue. Overall very satisfied with my experience after it was all said and done.
