Yesterday’s crew was great! Cracked jokes that landed while still maintaining professionalism. Gentleman I returned the van to was incredibly. Was unsure of the condition of the vehicle when I returned it. Was a little dirty but I know they always give a clean up before handing it off to the next customer. He’s was rude the entire time. Answering questions while walking away. Told me the do charge a cleaning fee. I asked to get the keys back so I can clean it. He didn’t answer then proceeded to shut the van door while I was still approaching. Every time I have used U-Haul it has been a great experience until this one

The employee that served me asked many of the same questions that were already in the system before looking it up. It would be better to reconfirm what’s in system than treat it like a new reservation where I’m wondering if they’ve even got the equipment at the location.

Shuting HHal has helped me just about every time I've gone in there. I buy storage units at auction, so I need a trailer often. He is exceptional at his job and has helped in any way he can. The facility and everyone there is top notch. Now yes it's their job, but in a society where customer service is more often less than par. My experience there every time is without a doubt the best

Instead of having to buy a punch of boxes they encourage customers to bring back gently used boxes for others to use for free!!!! Very helpful and life saving for me! MIGUEL CI made my reservation in person with the owner. I repeatedly said I would pick up the trailer between 12 and 1. My reservation confirmation that i got from uhaul said pick up time at 10. I did not see a way to change that. When I looked at my emails the day i was getting the trailer, my reservation had been canceled at 11 am. I went to the shop at noon, like I said. The owner wasn't there and a young man said that it was the owner who canceled my reservation, so he had to do it all again. Maybe he was new, but it took him a really long time. He didn't seem properly trained on your software. When I arrived in Washington and went to return the trailer, I was told that it was a local rental and set up to be returned in Tucson. I then had to spend more time on the , many phones calls, getting it changed to the local shop here.
LINDA HTeam at pickup and drop off locations were excellent. Only hiccup was lock recommended/sold to me to secure truck slide up door did not fit. Had to go to Hardware store to get a lock that fit.

Holly LThe trailer I had reserved on-line was double booked. When I arrived to pick up the trailer, it was not available. I had to trave an additional 20 minutes in the opposite direction of where I needed to go. When I got to the alternate location, I had to wait in line for nearly 30 minutes. On return, I went to the facility that is 5 minutes from my house to return the trailer. I was told that I would have to return it to the location I picked it up at, or pay an additional charge. This is unacceptable customer service. Be glad you are the only act in town! Very disappointing!!!!!!!

DANISTA PI have rented here many times before mainly quick and efficient no problems but this last time was just a fiasco. From long wait time for a reservation to having someone give me the keys without key to the lock on the back of the truck so when I got to my location I could not open it. There's a lack of communication between employees. I have to drive all the way back to get the key to the back and the proper keys to the vehicle and find out that it was supposed to be not rented to customers because it was supposed to be going in for maintenance but I received it anyway and they still issued it to me and said if there was any problems they would take care of it and give me another truck but how good would that be if they're giving it to me at 5:00 p.m. and they close at 7:00. I used the vehicle up until 10:00 I returned it and after hours drop off and as you're supposed to download the U-Haul app like I did it makes you log in and register an account and it would not let me do that mine too this is 10:00 p.m. at night I dropped the keys in the lock box for the guys to receive in the morning. I get a call at 5:00 p.m. saying I have not returned the vehicle where is it? When it was return 10:00 p.m. the following night at the same time I also received a final billing which had 30 additional miles put on it, luckily when I dropped it off I had a picture that I took of the mileage. So I was not told what the final mileage they had they either rented it to another person and tried to charge me for the additional miles of that person or they just made it up I had to call U-Haul Nationwide phone service to have them properly adjust my billing. I would say my experience this time was they just dropped the ball in every possible situation I don't know how they could do that I've never had problems with them before but this was my worst experience.

KARL Sinappropriate behavior, not professional at all. Picked up a vehicle to move, took it back over night but decided to keep keys for responsibility concerns, wife returns them early morning even when advised over the phone. Wife came in handed over keys for a manager to grab my wife’s hand to “scold” her for keeping keys (hands over keys then proceeded to ask for her hand back to slap it on top like you would do to a child…) they also pick and choose females they will remove the gas fee for when on paper it says to return with half.
MEMORIE HJust keep making the counter experience pleasant and the service nice for your older customers that can't and won't use the phone. Being able to talk to someone that was as kind who helped my dad.
WARREN HRent equipment in good working condition and have personnel in that store address customers with some sort of manners. As far as equipment, customer safety should be #1. The equipment rented was not safe. Horrible experience from the moment I walked in to the moment I had to return the trailer because it was not safe and when I addressed the safety issues I was replied to with rudeness and threats it was just ridiculous. It took hours out of a busy day and to be degraded by the staff was not good. Never going back, never recommending.

The general manager was able to accommodate us and save us a double trip just by explaining how the rentals worked and I am grateful for that. He was also the same person that checked in me in apparently recalling our earlier incident. He unhooked the heavy 6x12' trailer, dropped in on the cement and said something like "you're done" and walked away. I hesitate about letting you know of his behavior, but it is a reflection on the company and the local manager.

JACOB EThis U-Haul on Oracle in Tucson, Arizona by the Tucson Mall has very friendly and professional staff and the business is clean in the office area and around the property which has a large storage unit area. My unit #114 I received the 1st month rent free and they had a crew that were independent of U-Haul that they recommended to unload my large truck rental. They arrived within 45 minutes of when I contacted them . My only negative comment is that the roll up door kept coming down making it difficult to enter and exit. I advised the staff that it needed to be fixed and advised them when I would be there for them to get access. This was never done in the 2 months I was in that unit.

Then when I asked questions, or ask your agent to repeat all the instructions that confused me, he was visably put out.. ..once even rolled his eyes. And when the pictures of the truck I took would not upload on to your app, again Daniel was visibly perturbed when i asked for his help. I am older and not a cell phone phenomenon! I dont like your check out system at all. I wont be back!

SHEILA LThe truck I had was old. Over 142,000 miles on it. Very loud, had power, and was clean, but driving over 200 miles listening to the loud muffler was very annoying.
Brian HLowest rating for customer service person, Hal D., whom I found out later is the manager of this location. He was condescending, sarcastic, snarky, and did not stick solely to business matters. He absolutely needs training in working with customers. Also, when I rented the truck, I was informed that I rented it a full tank of gas. I was advised I should return it with a full tank of gas. I had only driven 9 miles total for my rental period. Yet, when I went to add a little gas at the end of the rental day, it took 2.92 gallons. Then it took almost 3 gallons to go 9 miles???? It just looks suspicious.
JANET SVery professional and friendly. Responded to my questions in a way that I could understand. I was given a storage unit, the largest they had and when asked if they could recommend someone to unload the largest truck and my 8’ bed pick up. The manager called and the 2 man crew arrived within 15 minutes and had everything well stacked and finished.. I was given a remote gate card so I would have access to the storage unit when ever I needed. I recommend this U-Haul for both equipment for your move and for dropping off the equipment. I highly recommend this U-Haul location 100 percent to my family and friends. Even total strangers looking for a company for moving and storage I could recommend this unit to them with complete confidence.

U-Haul required us to use their lock an you General manager let an individual have night access after hours. This individual picked locks on several lockers over several weeks. U-Haul would not pay for the loss since I did not have your insurance. In my mind, none of this would have happened if your manager did not allow personnel to drive in after hours and carry off large items for multiple weeks. If someone climbed the fence at night then they would have limited capability to carry off my large items. In my mind, U-haul is liable for this loss since they broke the contract I signed for a limited secure storage facility. Matt McKinney

Out side of that instance, access was easy enough seeing as we paid for 24 hour access, staff was attentive when we needed to work with them. The area was well maintained and other than occasionally showing up while someone was picking up equipment and blocking the gate we could always get in. Overall a great experience save for the break in attempt.

After the first year they had a fire in the unit directly across from ours yet NEVER contacted us so we could go check on our belongings and we didn’t find out for almost 3 months. We had items melted and smoke damage but they said nothing they could do and would not give me a report on the fire for my insurance, so I lost about 4,000$ worth of items. Then shortly after that incident they changed from being 24/7 to closing early… never emailed and notified us or anything and we went to get items one night and was unable to get to our items. Plus they are always extremely busy yet seem to only have one person working which does not cover it. Even when I moved out I had to wait 30+ minutes just to hand over keys. On top of all this they keep trying to charge wrong card entire time we were there although we did try changing it numerous times. Yet they still kept charging wrong one and not getting payments then charging me late fees for 3 years. If I had help or money to move I would have. I am glad to be out of there and will never return.

Once he finally “found” a unit, that unit had someone else’s things. I didn’t find that out until I went back on Saturday to look at the inside of the unit. Since then I’ve emailed them twice to refund me the insurance I paid for initially and I still haven’t heard back. They weren’t able to cancel my unit because the store manager, Hal wasn’t there. Alexis was kind enough to call another u-haul to check availability. It didn’t get cancelled until the following week after their rep Melanie called me a few times to ask me if I still wanted the unit and that it had been emptied. Totally unacceptable to rent storage units that haven’t been cleaned out. I will not return to this location ever again.

Raymond c | Overall ExperienceI had another U-haul storage space which I had reserved in March 2022 at the U-haul storage facility located at 450 N. Freeway in Tucson, because this is where I rented a moving truck, auto-carrier trailer and indoor storage unit as I was relocating from San Diego, CA and moving to Tucson, Arizona. When I finally arrived in Tucson to return the truck, trailer and off load the contents of the truck, I was notified that "there's no reservation on file for you here, we don't have anything available". I told this customer service representative that he was mistakened, why would I have pre-paid for an moving help service to meet me here to un-load the truck, and they're outside getting paid to do nothing! "I was told to contact U-haul customer service, because there was nothing he could do". So, I called the 800-468-4285 number and was placed on hold for an unnecessary extended period of time, in order to get some help. Finaly, I was connected to an call center customer service agent that I had to explain the entire story and situation to, before she could begin to assist me. The best solution that could be done at such short notice, and to allow for the very limited time I still had remaining on the paid help, was for me to be sent to the U-haul storage facility on Oracle Road which is an outside storage facility. I did not have any other option at this point, so I had them contact that office before they closed and notify them that I was on my way. When I and the moving helpers arrived, I meet the U-haul customer service representative to sign the rental contract, purchase a lock, locate the storage unit and attempted to drive the truck to the rental unit. This may have gone much faster if the storage facility had not recently had a fire inside a storage unit which took out the lights in the yard which made finding the unit and unloading the truck extremely difficult. By the time we found the unit and placed one item inside, my time was up for the paid moving help. I locked the unit and never returned until I moved out last month.

But it'll cost ya $15. All I had were 2 boxes (that were torn-down/flattened), plus 1 (15 gallon) bag of garbage. For $15?? He told me if I didn't want to pay, I could dump it next store (in their dumpster). I thought, Wow, that ain't right!? Now, this is after I just spent $1400 on a 15' truck (plus another $450 in gas) to move across country. Only to find out when I arrived that all my stuff, at the back 5' of the truck...was all wet on the bottom. By the way...he acknowledged that. It's just the principal of the whole thing. But I have to keep telling myself, that most people DONT CARE ABOUT PRINCIPALS. All they care about...US MONEY.

Even when I said call main office , they'd say they're out to lunch or dinner. 2 young men diff times acted either totally stoned or I'm sorry mentally extreme slow. Staring at puter doing nothing making us wait. For nothing. I was given a credit instead of a refund for unused boxes etc but they'd never let me use the credit, either cuz I can't use it towards storage rent or truck. But when I was buying supplies then it didn't work come back. This is even with whoever is acting boss that shift. Mgr seemed to be drugged or ? at times too. Everyone came in was frustrated, everytime I had to come in, often at times. Mgr leaves alot it seems never there. When he was he was nice. The premises itself felt safe and at time good loc but due to staff and how it's all run, I'd never use it, in fact I have moved out. The times I've had to use the main office it's been great, including this last time where without any hassle at all, I was given my immediate refund on that useless credit. Ps.. I was there about a year and all I said never got better in fact worse. I don't understand why you're letting such a prime loc be run by stoned vegetables idiots, including it's 'upper mgt' down. Yur customers r moving, we don't want or need that problematic time sucking error ridden headache for things so simple.

maya g | First ImpressionsThe facility and staff was great. One complaint is that they force you to buy a special padlock. They claim the reason is that these locks are more secure. This is not true. The round locks they force you to use can be broken in less than 5 minutes with a drill. I'm pretty sure the reason they require these is so they can get into a unit (with a drill) if someone stops paying, etc.

Catherine T | Overall ExperienceI found the experience pulling a 5x8 trailer with a car very taxing on gas mileage. Normally I get 25 mpg. I only got 12.7mpg pulling the trailer. The drag is tremendous. Perhaps you could offer a wind foil that attaches to the roof of a car to reduce the drag and increase mileage. I Imagine it would help with Your profits also.
