My unit #17 had a water leak that the staff was aware of prior to my move in and yes a few of my items have water damage. Instead of an offer of a different unit, I was told that a person would repair the leak (again). That night we had another rain and once again my items were damaged. The manager was not in and the staff present did not know if the repairs were made. I moved out the unit the next day purchasing moving men, a truck, and a discount on new boxes. I give UHaul a lot of business!

MICHAEL BThere is an unkempt car on the lot in the way of the roundabout turn. I guess the site is storage for your cement barriers. Those look messy and unattractive. There was a caved in door on one of the units but maybe it was fixed now. Staff said that a car ran into the door. I am glad because I thought it was an attempted break in. Some residents leave litter when they move in or out. I couldn't see inside my unit in the evening.

When I came to pick up the truck after 2:pm Terrell wasn’t very friendly. I also felt uncomfortable when he asked for a person to call in case of emergency as if he expected something to happen to me while out moving my belongings. I didn’t get a dolly however it didn’t seem that he took the price of it off compared to the estimated price I got from Kimberly in the morning. I suggest he stop; get a drink of water or a snack if he’s not quite ready to handle the public. Maybe that will help him come with a smile.
SIDNEY HI received a text message asking me to take pictures of the vehicle. The website would not work with my phone so I was unable to do that. The same issue occurred in store when it asked to take a picture of myself and the front and back of my drivers license. It was extremely frustrating that something's the company was asking me to do did not work on thir own website.

The access point is hard to maneuver because it also has a ramp going up to a door that doesn’t stay open. It was pretty hard to get things in and out because of those reasons.

Immediately two men came out but when I asked a question about the mileage they said I had to wait until after the inspection and to go inside. They didn't seem friendly. I would recommend the branch because of its great location.
DEBRA FNothing. The Guy Walter at the 5400 Bragg Blvd, Fayetteville location was an absolute life saver. I watched him handle some of the most difficult customers and he remained so calm and professional. When it was my turn he was so pleasant and accommodating. I was in Fayetteville doing a home renovation and ran into some problems. Walter helped so much, he even told us about places to eat and gave us directions while there. If I ever need to rent again I will make sure Walter is working and definitely use this location. Need more WALTERS. The only issue we had was the truck felt like it was going to stall. I think it needed some repairs because the check engine light was on, but I really wasn't worried. I knew if anything happened it would be taken care of. Thanks U~Haul

Angela E | Overall ExperienceI am almost 70 years old even though I don't look it. I needed further directions to the unit. Your rep abruptly told me that he just showed me on paper where to go. Then the unit was bound with a zip tie; luckily I had a knife. After the movers unloaded the truck, I asked the same rep if I could leave my truck at the facility. He said no! He said if he called for a transfer he could be on the phone for hours. There was another worker behind the counter. They had no other customers. Since I added a storage, another product why couldn't he called for me. I called since I understood I could transfer. The rep answered right away. The transfer took 15 minutes. Lastly he did not want to give me one month free storage. He said I had to be from our of town. I was! He knew that because he could not find my reservation and confused me with another customer. He said he talked to me earlier on Saturday. I didn't call UHaul; I placed my order online

COREY HI would only recommend this location based on its convenience. However, my recent experience raises concerns. When I picked up the rental truck, it had only 2 miles’ worth of fuel remaining. Since it was 7 PM (closing time), I immediately informed the maintenance representative, who then spoke with the manager. While I was given a $38 fuel discount, my main concern remains: how can a rental truck be handed over to a customer with practically no fuel, especially when it is expected to be used immediately? This is not only inconvenient but also reflects poorly on business practices. Due to this issue, I may need to reconsider renting from this location in the future and recommending it to friends, family, and colleagues. I strongly urge management to address this deficiency to prevent similar experiences for other customers.

VENEL EU-Haul should update its driver’s license database to include Puerto Rico as an option for drivers. While the database currently accommodates licenses from Canada, a foreign country, it omits Puerto Rico, a U.S. territory.

ROBERT PDuring pick up representative was more concerned about an upcoming “propane training” and why all employees where at the location at the same time, rather than providing the full attention to my needs and questions. Additionally every time I asked a question or made a comment about my pick up process the person seemed to be bothered by my questions. Next day o received a call saying my return was late when my 24 hour period wasn’t even over yet (still had 2 hours).

RAFAEL PThe location was very dangerous at night especially being a woman by herself in that particular area of town. I did not feel safe. On top of that I tried to complete the "return the truck" process on the website and it did was not effective which made me have to linger longer there to figure it out. I spoke to a rep and they said they would create a note to give to the staff letting them know of this difficulty since she could not help me. I took my own pics though. The truck runs rough and makes an odd humming sound from time to time that doesn't sound good. The fuel gauge is ridiculous. I put 45.00 of fuel in it when the needle was on a quarter tank and it barely moved.

When someone books and signs a contract for a specific rate, it should remain the same throughout their time needing the unit. There were no upgrades or reasons why for the increase. Unless it was for the small rodents or birds living in my unit.

I went to get my things out tonight and everything was covered in some sort of sand/ dirt or something. Then I come in to tent my truck and the payment system took $100 off of my card for the attendant to say the payment didn't process. He then calls tech support which we waited 30 mins for to answer. They get on the phone AMF days my payment was canceled in their system even though it fully processed out of my account. They then tell me I need another form of payment and it may take up to 5 days for my $100 payment to be refunded back to me. I won't EVER use Uhaul again. And I definitely won't recommend them to anyone EVER. One last thing, 2 out of their 3 computers was down. Just sad.........

julia j | Overall ExperienceI recently made a trip from Texas to North Carolina, after 14 years, to finally get my keepsakes out of storage and clean out the storage unit. My entire 3 bedroom house was contained in this storage unit, and I was extremely excited to finally go through these old memories, or so I thought. Upon arrival, I found that my lock has been cut and my unit has been moved. That was problem number 1, why was my unit moved? Finally, after speaking to management and explaining that I shouldn't be charged for the lock and key when I have my key on me, and the lock was cut without my knowledge, and without me present, the management allowed me to move forward without paying for that lock. Now, the maintenance man drilled out the lock, and I rolled up the unit door. At which point, my jaw dropped. My entire 3 bedroom house was dwindled down to a few boxes on one of the walls, a few trash bags, and a couple pieces of broken furniture. Everything else was gone! My beds, Livingroom sets, dining sets, 3 bedroom sets, most of my boxes of stuff; everything was gone. I immediately contacted the management and was met with even more questions. Nobody seemed to have any answers. As management went over the situation, I started looking at what I had left. As I opened boxes, I found mold, mildew, and rat/mouse infestations in the remaining boxes. Out of my storage unit, I was able to scrape together less than one medium sized tote of stuff to take home with me. This included about a quarter of my service awards, one class A jacked with ribbons, half of my baseball cards I had as a child, and maybe 20 of my 500-1000 pictures. Everything else was destroyed. Management got back to me while at the unit. Apparently there was a hurricane that went through in 2016, and my unit was underwater. They moved my unit and threw away everything that was wet. The unit was essentially a total loss. I have been paying for this unit for 14 years. Why couldn't they tell me that my unit was underwater and everything was destroyed? UHauls answer to this? We tried to contact you. Really!?!?! You sure have the ability to send me a bill, verify I paid it, and call when payments are going up, but you can't contact me to tell me everything in my unit has been destroyed by a hurricane?!?!?!?! REALLY!!!!! Anyway, I continued to pay the bill thinking everything was fine with my unit for an additional 7 years. Afterall, what I don't know keeps them getting paid for the unit. What did management tell me? I need to submit an insurance claim, and they will need an itemized list of everything destroyed. How am I supposed to produce an itemized list of everything in that storage unit when it was an entire 3 bedroom house, especially trying to remember 14 years ago, and they 95% of it away without my knowledge? Now, the insurance garbage I have been dealing with. I tried to contact the insurance carrier for Uhaul , the one that handles the claims, and literally never heard anything. Nobody answered the phone, nobody emailed me, nobody returned the call. I left voicemail after voicemail, and no replies. I tried for weeks to no end, and finally gave up. I guess the way insurance claims work is if nobody answers the phone, I guess my claim cannot be submitted. No submitted claim means no refund for 14 years (7 minimal) and repayment of the furnishings for an entire 3 bedroom house. To answer your question, "Please rate your overall experience storing with U-Haul?" I wouldn't do business with Uhaul if they literally got on their knees and begged me. The audacity to send me that question, after my experience, Uhaul should be absolutely ashamed.

I sincerely request this situation be corrected so that I have access to my property in storage that I am paying rent for each month.

I was told I would be responsible to pay that month even though I was no longer in the unit. After argument and a phone call to however, I was cleared with a zero balance. Absolutely foolish! I did contact the store to ask what protocol was. I was told I had until close of business on the 18th to pay the unit rent or be cleared out with pictures/video and return of the access key.

We struggled on this using the cart for a couple loads until we found the ramp on the East end of the building was better suited for use with the cart. I double checked with the representative that had helped me to make sure because we were traveling 4hours to this site. I was assured i would be able to put my things in storage 24/7. We get to the site at around 10:07 and attempt to put in our code. It said access denied- closed. I called the Number on the sign for after hour assistance no answer. I called the U-Haul customer service number and was on the phone with her. She told me we were misinformed and tried to reach out to the gm for me. No answer. We had to camp out in our cars till the storage opened because we couldn’t get in. I am overall very upset, why we the rep who helped us book everything tell us we would have access 24/7 if we didn’t. So frustrating.

RON W | Online Move InMy bill was due in the 22nd of every month. I was able to secure a rental property moving my furniture on the 26th (4) days later to be billed for another month. That is unacceptable plus no at this location is never able to answer the phone. The call center can’t help problems at a particular location. No I would recommend nor use U-haul in the future. Plus I’m paid up until the 22 of April to be advised that the storage 404 is no longer available to me. I didn’t checkout. Bad business and a darn ripoff.
Connie J | Overall ExperienceI was involved in an auto accident earlier in the year and advised U haul management that I was not able to pay the full unit rental and asked to be but into a smaller unit after a caught the payments up on the first unit. I did so and they didn’t put me in a smaller unit. I just got out the hospital 4 days ago and answered an email in what my intentions were and I asked to make a partial payment and they refused to except that. Than they expressed other alternatives prior to auction and they never offered that as well. So my unit was sold and there was an overage which was due back to me. When I went to see the store manager Ms Kim she was rude and telling me that there was no credit due back to me when in fact there was because the letter clearly stated such credit. She made a big deal of it stating that she didn’t have the cash or she didn’t know how to do a credit. At the end of it she said the corporate office would half to send a check by mail which is fine but why did I half to come and spend an hour in the store for you to tell me this. I tried to call the store several times prior to going into the store. No one answered and I kept getting the stores voice mail. So not a good feeling dealing with U Hall at all. Not a pleasant experience at all. They could of worked out a plan for me especially by me being in the hospital after the auto accident.

Daija R | First ImpressionsSo there are a couple of things here I would like to say. While the help I received was good, it took forever to get said help. I waited for 45 minutes before seeing the only rep behind the counter (2 days in a row on 09 and 10 Nov). Then on the second day after receiving my card to access the storage I had to wait for it to activate, I was unaware of this. So I tried to access the gate without luck and then went back inside to wait 20 more minutes to be let in by the rep. Also I was not briefed and am not sure how payments occur for storage. Like if it is all auto payments, or if I will be paying for 1st and last month, or need to pay monthly at the location. If that is the case I only need the unit for 2 months and need to end my contract now. So I will also need to read the contract in full to see if these questions are answered there. Other wise I had no issues.
