We made our reservation online a week before the move. We were supposed to get a call the day before to get the directions for obtaining the truck since it was before opening hours and a holiday. We never received the call or text, the app was useless. The app had the wrong location for pick up, my husband went and they sent him to a location that had no one working on site since it was a holiday. I had to go through at least 45 mins of phone calls being switched to different departments until I finally reached a competent worker that found us an open UHAL location with trucks available. When we finally got the truck, IT HAD NO GAS! We lost about 3 hours of moving time! Also it didn't include our dolly we requested.

She was curt and seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else but there. After the paperwork was done, she told me to go ahead and pick up the trailer never telling me where that was. After I asked, she pointed to a section of the yard where the trailers were I pulled my car to that area. And waited, 5 min, 10 min maybe longer. I started hooking the trailer to my car, finally a guy came over to hook it up. I told him I have been waiting , his reply was " I'm busy too" I told him I'm pretty fricken busy too. Hurry up and hook this up so I can get out of this place. I got the total San Francisco attitude. Thanks for that
DAVID RGave me the GMC, but realize too high for height. Ask the staff to exchange a smaller cargo van, like a ford. But don’t want to help me exchange, telling me it’s the smallest among cargo van. When doing the delivery to my client. The cargo van can’t get in where GMC is high on its height. A very disappointed rental agreement. I already explained it to the staff.

ASTROGILDO DWhen I got there, I took pictures of the gas and the mileage because the gas was incorrect. There was only slightly around quarter tank when I returned it. I returned it with slightly over a half a tank but yet I was charged $118.75 for fuel. None of this makes sense to me. We had to U-Haul for three days drove 51 miles and three days and we got charged a total of. $420.00🤷♂️ never again well I use U-Haul and I would not recommend using them.

MATTHEW PI recommend to improve your customer service Bayshore location, the worker on the rental area is not helpful as they don’t seem to care. We rent the trailer and the dolly. The trailer set up did not meet the height with hitch,the person who installed the trailer did not listen to us about the issue, we have to go back to U-Haul to figure it, however the worker was not helpful and we waste a couple hour trying to make the trailer to the same height with the hitch and end up got additional charge for the hitch that we did not rent. We gave up asking for their help fixing it and drove the uhual at Fremont, the guy was great there and as soon as we drove up, the crew member comes to us and help us fixed the issue. Tomorrow I have to go back to this location to fix the additional charges that I did not get. Very bad. I would recommend people to avoid this location and go to other uhual location. Also this location feels very unsafe with many people standby the gate, as soon as you drive up there, they will walk up to you and try to get some work or something from you.
IRENE CI returned the Uhaul six hours after renting it and with more gas than it had when I picked it up; however, the representatives charged me for two days. This is a dishonest location, not the first time this has happened. The clerk also refused to provide me with an updated/corrected receipt for my records.

STEVEN CI made a reservation for a 20’ vehicle and notified 5 minutes before arriving to this location that the only vehicles available for 10’. I had to take the 10’ vehicle because I had already made plans to move boxes of product for my business, but would now have to make several back-and-forth trips, drive more miles, and waste more gas… making it a much higher expense. The desk agent didn’t help the matter, as she didn’t seem to care and would delay my check in because another agent kept interrupting. Making matters even worse: she ends up assigning me a vehicle that was blocked by another one. Fortunately, one of the cleaners offered to go back to the office and move it out of the way. Never going to this location again.

David TI went here because the U-Haul at Parkmerced Shopping Center screwed me over. I scheduled my reservation on Thursday at 4:30pm, and it was green, meaning I can reserve the 15’ truck. But upon arriving on time, the store actually closed at 3:30pm! Worst of they, they never reached out to me, explaining that not only were they closed before my reservation, they also don’t have the truck available after-hours. So an agent had to book Bayshore as a last minute effort. The worst part is that this was for a JOB. Yes, I mean paid work and this incident caused me to run late and affected my job badly. Had this store communicated better, none of this mishap would’ve happened. Worst of all, when I went there, again, to try booking another reservation, they tried to claim I’m a problematic customer, according to their system. And when I called customer support, they had no issue booking the reservation for me. I demand to have my upcoming reservation to be fully covered! And I demand that store to get reprimanded! Either that store gets new management or the job I work for will notify their thousands of workers about that store, affecting their business with bad reviews.

DENISE WEVERY TIME I rent from this location I get charged for gas. I was given an empty gas tank, filled it half a tank and returned it only to be charged $70+ for the gas. The previous time, similar situation where they charged me $27 and I only traveled a few miles. The time before that was another tank of gas charged. I am tired of arguing about this with the manager. At this rate, I am owed more than just a reimbursement but a credit for the trouble.

The amount of droppings found was beyond the amount of "small" infestation. Lots of designer furniture ruined. Herman Miller Eams, Steel case, Knoll etc. also my furniture has a stink/funk to it now. The fabric furniture now smalls Like a old barn/ 'old persons house' that smoked. The unit next to mine was rank. If you have any furniture of value store it anywhere else! Super bummed considering I paid over $10k to store my furniture for the last four years.

I even asked about it when I called to reserve and was told it would be taken care of at the location. When I pull up I saw there was also an advertisement for a free month outside. I felt I was promised an offer and didn't receive it. I ended up renting for two months as the storage access hours did not line up well with my work schedule. If I'm ever in need of storage I wouldn't store with uhaul again.
Ashley F | Overall ExperienceIt would be extremely beneficial to have 24 hour access - especially considering the high pricing (and frequent increases), as well as due to the fact of being located in a major urban area with such a variety of working and sleeping hours. I actually did not even enter my unit for several years due to the hours not fitting with my schedule and/or those of someone with a vehicle (I do not have a vehicle, due to living in an urban area). Mechanical lifting equipment or lifts would be extremely helpful for those with units that are up flights of stairs or with upper level units. Especially for the units with permanent stairs, wheelchair platforms could be installed which do not require operation by a licensed equipment operator. And platforms which do require an operator could be requested or reserved by appointment so that a certified employee could be present to operate it. It would be nice to see more availability of larger units. It is not in everyone's budgets to maintain more than one unit, but the lack of larger units forces people to make downsizing decisions, where a larger unit would keep them in your property. The card access systems could use updating - it takes a while to get the hang of the correct speed and firmness of card swiping, leading to unnecessary trips to the office (if it is open), just to be told you are not swiping slowly enough. Perhaps tap cards would be better? Especially for those looking to reduce wallet bulk, a small keychain fob would be great. Otherwise, everything was generally great. Employees were always friendly and helpful - often even ready to go out of their way to assist with any concern or issue. The environment was always clean, with not a single rodent or pest to be found. The temperature/humidity always seemed in great control. Overall, I was mostly satisfied. I would be likely to maintain this location as my lifelong storage location if the above-mentioned issues were corrected - especially the ones regarding access hours, mechanical equipment/lifts, and more plentiful availability of larger units. Then problem was that they didn't have my new credit card number. But the problem was also that they were sending notices to 752 Lakeview instead of my address, which is, and was the whole time, 572 Lakeview. The worker who called me in the nick of time had my driver's license number, but had to ask me for my email address, though it has not changed for several decades. Also, U-Haul records showed my backup contact person at an address on Holloway. I have never even known anyone who lived on Holloway! I paid the bill via credit card, corrected the information U-Haul had wrong, and re-instituted auto-pay with my credit card, but I am upset and mystified as to where the wrong contact information could have come from and very upset that I nearly lost my stored goods.

When she saw me or my sister, she will talk really bad to her colleagues about us in front of us. And that is just disrespectful and she also will be rude. Another thing I also rated it 2, Was because the people who you have in front Will take about 10 minutes to get the next customer. When they don't have no customer serving. Ad if Debbie is there and she sees me they will take up to 20mins to attend to my needs. It's sad to see a supervisor who is just gossiping about others just because she doesn't like certain people. And my last reason for rating it a 2 is because Debbie and another staff member allowed someone else to go into my storage and my sons passport got stolen. (That is known as a federal law document) and she lied to the cooperation that she will never do something like that. When I went a few days my storage wasn't how I left it. So I don't understand why is this individual still working there. I want to thank those above Debbie position for their help. And I wish the best for Debbie and those under her. The man who robbed our unit used a very loud angle grinder in the facility and no one noticed. Not secure. He also robbed other units and when I asked the manager if she was going to contact the unit she said no it wasn’t her problem which makes this tenants very unlikely to recover their stolen items the longer it hasn’t been reported. I would never recommend this place in fact I’ve been actively telling people to not rent in this unit because it’s unsafe and management is useless

My last comment is the large amount of Day Workers congregated at the front of the facility. They stand in sqaular all day and wave at customers as they drive in and out. There are also plenty of unhoused people roaming at the gate. The overall feeling of the environment was dismal and downtrodden. The inside of the storage facility was clean, however the outside environment made me anxious when I was on the property. I made it a point to never go to my locker after hours because I was intimidated by the circumstances of the vagrants at the gate.

Also their trailer technician I’ll bet was Never been Trained properly But I was told this was my Responsibility! I’m sure their will Be no Fallow through! So as a “favor” they “allowed” me to park my open trailer with all my stuff in the hitch bay. I do not understand why you say you’re open until 7. When I came the next day I was told that no one knew how to open the hitch bay and that I had to come back at 3. They also told me that they don’t understand why the people on Saturday didn’t let me move in then. This was extremely inconvenient. Then, even though I reserved a ground floor unit, it turned out to be a 5th floor unit with steps that had to be climbed to get my stuff in. This wasn’t mentioned anywhere and was not what I reserved. So I had to upgrade to an 8x8x8 on the third floor to avoid the steps which is costing me considerably more money. It also has a column in the corner so it’s not really an 8x8x8. The column is easily 1x1x8 so why am I paying for an 8x8x8? Doesn’t seem fair. Lastly, zero of your male employees were masked berating a mask around your neck or mouth doesn’t count. Suffice to say, I’m looking for another place to store my stuff and judging by my experience on Saturday evening, I’m guessing no one really cares so. I also need to say that while there was some effort to remedy my situation on Saturday there is no reason I couldn’t have been given my card and allowed to move my stuff in. My “staff friendliness rating” was based on the Saturday crew. The Sunday crew was much more helpful and I’d give them a “yes” for this question.

Please do what you were supposed to do in the first place and request payment of $129.00 from my bank and refund the late fees. Never had any issues in getting to and from my storage unit. Staff were always helpful they get a 10/10. If carts weren’t easily available, a hand truck was provided as an alternative.

After being told my the van company that we could only have the van till 5 even tho we rented it for the day because "other people needed it" our movers were then 2 hours late (booked by UHaul) and when we got to your "facility" we are told the unit size we reserved not only isn't available but doesn't exist. at which point the dude who was "helping us" called over Wendy who obviously couldn't care less about what was happening even though I had 2 movers waiting that had already completely unloaded our van and STILL she wanted to make us go to the Bryant location to get a Ubox from them instead. The most mismanaged badly run facility i've ever seen. While i was there i heard 2 other people have meltdowns because you guys ruined their reservations and took payment for services you could not provide. whoever the GM is, expect to be hearing from me. I had to pay my movers an extra $120 to stay another hour since this dumpster fire of a situation took up an hour of the time they were supposed to be moving my stuff into the unit. On top of this nightmare the one locker available was at the top of a pully ladder stacked ontop of another unit. AND IT'S $40+ MORE THAN WHAT I RESERVED ONLINE. I expect this price match to be met after this hellfire saga. I have to say the mismanagement of this location is a joke. Your employees are working class people that don't deserve the abuse they get from their customers because of how badly your management runs this location. FIRE HIM.

Another time, a customer took every single cart and the staff would do nothing about it. One of my cards never worked, and one of the latches was so warped it took 15 minutes to be locked.

She had to unlock the storage first, yet she chose to take care of the next client. After waiting for an additional 10 min, we proceeded to my storage unit. I discovered that a quarter of the unit was occupied by a very large column (2.5 x 3). She mentioned she knew about it and almost insinuated that I should have known; she insisted that it was an 8x8x8. The unit was useless to me as I needed to place 2 large items (a couch and an erg machine). She refused to upgrade me. She refused to help out finding an alternate facility. I eventually had to drive close to 30 miles away to be able to store my items. A terrible experience unlike the one at the Oakland Coliseum's. I will never rent from the Bayshore location ever again.
