U Haul truck reservation number 90331125 Michele Weiss I first called on 3/15/21 to reserve a 15 ft. truck one way to Salem, Oregon. I waited on line for 9 minutes and was disconnected. Called back and wait 16 minutes before speaking to a person. The service then was good, I asked the person if I had to call and confirm before the pickup date on 3/25, he said no he guaranteed the truck would be at the Sunnyvale local (approx. 7 miles from my home). I called back on 3/18 and changed the pickup time to an earlier time. Also made arrangements for moving help, that service was good, but I have nothing but trouble getting into the program to leave a review for the 5.95 fee handling. On 3/24, I received a call 24 hours before my pick up time telling me there wasn't a 15 ft. truck available, would a 10 ft. work. No a 10 ft. wouldn't work and even though they have 12 ft. trucks showing on the website, there were no 12 ft. truck either. I was given the choice of cubes or driving to pickup truck at San Francisco, approx. 44 miles away from my home. I took the truck in San Francisco option. I called the number for San Francisco location., waited on hold for 41 minutes, and was disconnected. Called back and waited on hold for 31 minutes. I talked to Orry and explained my situation and asked him to have the location call me at or around 5pm to verify the truck would be available for pickup Thursday morning at 8am. They did not call me to verify the truck would be available. When I picked up the truck, no change was made to the mileage on the rentalâ€¦even though U Haul added 44 miles to my actual mileage. First, there is a pattern of issues with your on hold function and being disconnected. Second, your customer service is very poor with the promises of trucks, last minute changes, call backs after a serious change to the reservation, and the information on your website. I realize there can be changes to last minute reservation but I made reservations for a truck 10 days in advance and was told it would be available 7 miles away, not 44 miles away. Third, your app with check out has issuesâ€”the estimate on the fuel level was off on the truck and when we tried to change it errored out. Check out record said 3/8 level and it was closer to 1/8, another customer service issue. I respectfully request a refund of $200. (15%). The experience with your company was not up to any kind of good customer service. Please credit my credit card on file with the refund of $200.MICHELE W.

Upon picking up the equipment, I noticed that the fuel gauge did not reflect the one through the link. Based on the link, it was supposed to be at half full but in reality, it was completely empty. I asked for another equipment but agent refused, advised me to mark the correct fuel level. So I used to link and marked that the fuel gauge was on empty, added a note and included an image. I fueled the equipment at the nearest gas station so I could complete my task. I added $20 worth of gas. A short time later, I returned the equipment and was faced with a significant fuel charge. The agent could not see in the system that I marked it empty but could see the image. She continued to argue with me even though it was the same agent I had reported the empty fuel gauge upon pick up. Very unprofessional and lazy. I had to argue for a while and she finally agreed to process a refund, which I'm not sure she did correctly because it did not reflect on my receipt. The system should have an image of the empty fuel gauge, and that should be the end of the discussion. I will be disputing this charge with my CC.EVANGELOS M.

There was no clear instructions as to how to sign in or sign out the rental. I was billed $107 for gasoline when I returned the rented van with more fuel that it had when I picked it up. I used the van for 26 miles only. Good luck trying to get this mess straightened out - it took hours of on hold time.ZIYAD H.

I was overcharged on the gas charges for the vehicle and the agent refused to listen to me or compromise in any way. I was also give a truck that had a "low air" tire warning light on the dashboard. So I had to deal with that before I even left the lot. Absolutely horrible experience.Robert C.
Check in was pretty mediocre. The first person helping me was not up to scratch (younger woman; disinterested, unknowledgeable and unhelpful), when I had an issue and came back the second was a lot better (older woman). At the counter near the exit there where two guys in u-haul gear chilling but not really doing anything. Which was weird as there was a line. Check out was good enough.Stefan Anton G.
I rent a cargo van twice a month to do food pickup for our local church... today I had the pleasure of driving a brand new vehicle with only 24 miles on it... way to go U haul... funny thing ~ though no matter the mileage new or older ~ all the vehicles are clean and professionally ready to go!!! We had a 15 foot truck reserved for over a week and the day before they told us they didn't have our truck and switch to a 20 footer and made us go all the way across town to pick up at other location.
