DUNG NWe reserved a cargo van and when we arrived at the West Oaks pick up location, there was no van. We were told the people who rented the van had not returned it. And that another van was in the shop. We ended up having to go to another location (S. Dairy Ashford) to pick up a 10' truck. We did get a small refund, and U-Haul charged us the cargo van price, but there has to be a way for U-Haul to know when reservations cannot be accommodated. This is unacceptable. The S. Diary Ashford location was great. Easy check in and out. I would NOT rate the West Oaks location as excellent. I would rate that location as Below Average. Again, there has to be a way to know when reservations cannot be accommodated BEFORE people arrive for pick up.

That dis organized and displaced my move. I lost hours of work and paid movers twice because by the time they find me another truck, 4-5 hours has passed. I’ll say yes to the recommendation because the rest of the staff rallied around quick and started calling for a truck for me. And find me a truck. They sincerely apologize. But the manager cared less. The front restart were good. Therefore I’ll stil recommend people.

The manager couldn’t be found one Saturday morning while several of us waited around at 8am. A full hour after opening. Turns out he was inside his apartment on site but wouldn’t respond to staff knocking and calling several times. I got trapped in the elevator when it malfunctioned. An inoperable elevator caused me to have to carry/drag furniture down stairs. The elevator has not worked for 4 months and not a single word to paying customers apologizing for the inconvenience. Not a note saying it’s out, NOTHING!! U-HAUL should be ashamed that someone who is paying $400 for storage is being told that they aren’t willing to pay to fix the elevator. Disgusting.

I noticed a major hike in price when that part of the facility became temperature controlled. It was not my desire to pay that much (approximately $202 monthly); but I was never offered the option to move to another location on site that was not temperature controlled. There have been and currently are instances of the elevator not working which were very inconvenient because my unit is on the 2nd floor. My payment is auto drafted monthly on the 1st. The unit was cleared on the 2nd, one day after the payment was taken. Upon my termination of the contract, it was told to me that there would be no refund. I am upset by this because if a person moves INTO a unit, and the date is NOT the 1st of the month, the person is NOT charged for a full month. There is a prorated amount applied for the move in month, with the full amount being applied moving forward. Why am I not being given a prorated amount for moving out? This is a problem.

BEATRICE AAC didn’t work very well in the climate controlled unit and the light inside my unit did not work consistently - more often it did not work at all so I had to bring a battery lantern to be able to see. I had been in that unit for over 2 years. When I inquired about it I was told that section had some known issues. Elevators didn’t always work either so that made it inconvenient at times. Aside from those issues, the staff was always nice, professional, and helpful.

But the agent at the location offered to us the next size up (REG price $39.99) I said NO but he offered a discounted rate of $29.99, (saving me $10) and I was working with a budget mind you. He said that I should make sure to take note of the GAS & MILEAGE of the truck because he had not had the time to check it in from the last customer who left it on the curve on the road, not even on the property. I took a PICTURE as I turned on the rental and the mileage was 112843 with 3/8 of GAS. Not halfway or a full tank of gas. I said that we might drive about 5 miles when actually we only drove 2 MILES(112845 have pic as well). When I returned it using that app and BTW it was such a hassle. I went through the gate and found that the garage for the golf cart was wide open, and a client of theirs mentioned that somebody is inside, so I walked and opened the door to the office. I called for help and nobody replied back...So I gave up and finally after 20 minutes trying to check the truck in. I receive the ORDER RECEIPT by email...with a FUEL CHARGE OF 3 GALLONS totalling $11.70...(WHY) I returned the truck with the same or a little bit more than 3/8 of gas in it. (ALSO HAVE A PIC) Ive been waiting for a customer service rep to call me about my experience and nothing yet. Its not right for the employees not to be doing their duties by checking the trucks in, adding the CORRECT amount of gas and thinking that most customers dont read the receipts...Well I do!

The the gentleman working the counter at 7:00 that morning could have wanted to be anywhere else than he was there helping me or lack thereof. He made it very apparent that I was nothing more than an inconvenience. Hey did not ask me if I wanted insurance on it I didn't need it I have full coverage on the vehicle that I drive but I was charged for that too. He was rude condescending and just kind of an ass. So all the places in the U-Hauls I've ever gone to known people done anything the one at the corner of Dairy Ashford just to the north of Westheimer I would not tell them to go there I would say go anywhere else but there I'm in the customer service field this is my job I deal with people every single day 10 12 hours a day. And so I know when someone needs props and I will always say this person is an amazing job get their name make sure they're super divisor knows that they have done their best to make everything to the best of durability to make me happy. This was not that
KIM PMy only observation is that the driver's side rear tire had low air pressure when I picked it up. I had to fill it before I could leave town. I appreciate the team working to find me another pick-up when they originally thought they would not have one available.

I've never had a positive experience at this location until now. Even the house keep was nice there was water outside my unit, and he came with mops and was ready to clean and help make my move out go smoothly. After moving out I let Daniel know I was done, by the time I had made it to my home he had called to let me know my movers had forgotten some boxes (they were empty) but he wouldn't move/touch them until I had given them the ok. The amount of respect he had for me was amazing, unlike anyone I've ever dealt with at this location. Thank you again.

However, some customer feedback for you that may help you because it probably means I won’t be using this location again. The door to my unit did not fully open from when I first rented it and I was told by two members of staff that a work order would be in place to fix it. This made moving challenging because we kept having to prop the door up. I came back twice to ask for this to be resolved and it never was. Needless to say I was able to work around it but for the inconvenience it didn’t leave me feeling positive. If it takes two months for a work order to be put it and it doesn't get fixed, it doesn't make me feel I'll be recommending it to another person.
