ERIC VI can't think of the young gentleman's name but he helped me move in this past Saturday on January 4th, 2024. He was very efficient and got me set up. Took me to my unit and showed me how to properly handle it as far as opening and closing to secure it. Overall, the experience was great and I told him that he should get a raise. He said he's been there for years now and the benefits are good. You have a really good team-member there and I hope he continues to do great work for them. Moving my things in this morning was a breeze because of his time and attention. Thanks again to you, sir!

GEORGE Psuper easy, once I figured out the app. I had done the 24/7 earlier pick up and I was struggling a little, and luckily someone was at work already and saw I was having a hard time and came out to help me! Keelan WI called bc I had questions and she ended up booking it over the phone. I got a confirmation email. Went to location and they canceled my reservation, apparently before I received a confirmation email according to u-haul. She said there weren't any trucks available. There was over 14 that I could easily count in one row and there was more than one row... So I had to go to another location that was out of my way- thus adding unnecessary mileage to my trip that I have to pay for. I was using the app for the CONVENIENCE. They had to call a reference and my boss? Mind you this is almost 8pm now when I had a reservation for 6:30. Try calling your boss that late? NO heads up was given about that. I'm self employed so that was a whole issue. They ended up calling another reference but they were sleeping. So yet another reference was needed. They legit just say- if she doesn't return the vehicle on time is that ok? What a stupid unnecessary reference call. Then I had to get the key out of a padlock that was old and not functioning properly for the individual letter dial turns AND being able to open it. So that took way too long, in the cold, holding something freezing and metal while the building dripped on me. By the time all this was sorted out the person I was buying something from said it's too late and stopped replying to me at all so thanks u-haul for taking so long I lost the couch I needed. I did go someplace else for a dresser and then I was charged a bunch of miles bc the location of this u-haul was out of the way. So I ended up paying $67 for a dresser that could have fit in my car. I was offered nothing for all this added inconvenience. As such I will NEVER use u-haul again. Home Depot and Lowes rent trucks for $20/hr flat. Would have been so much cheaper and more convenient bc they have staff working. This whole ordeal SUCKED.

APRILANN WWhen I recieved the truck it was 50 miles until empty and when I returned the truck it was 40 miles until empty, so I am not sure how I was forced to pay $70 is fuel charges when it was not fueled prior to me getting the truck. That makes no sense. I would have rated this location a lot better if this was not the case.

Khidmat A | Overall ExperienceI have rented a truck for many years at this place and others and decided for the first time not to put insurance on it. And out of nowhere they are charging me for some scratches on the truck.
MYRNA AWe stored boxes in them during a house cleaning which extended far longer than planned. When I asked for rental extensions, they were granted without foul ups in billing, etc. We had two problems (1) not needing the blankets we found them cumbersome to store for so long and (2) being tall I could seal the door at the top, but my wife could not without a step ladder. Overall, though, they were a big help and pricing seemed reasonable.

IVAN HI put in over 5 gallons and drove 66 miles, but you charged me for 3 more gallons. If these trucks get 8.25 mpg while moving minimally weighted loads, something doesn't seem right. The salesmen told me their trucks get horrible gas mileage; they just pass the inability to maintain trucks onto their customers.

APRIL ANot only did they over charge me but they took almost $300 for a 10ft U-Haul , made me drop it off an hour away from the original drop off location and then took $35+ from my deposit and told me they wouldn’t have to. The entire process was a pain from start to finish and I feel robbed. I have already hired a lawyer to deal with the issues at hand , let alone the stress and emotional damage this has caused. I would not recommend this company as a whole , let alone this location. They are liars , thieves and refuse to fix anything they do wrong. Enjoy the extra $100 you stole from us .

FRANKLIN SMy only issue is that I reserved an appliance dolly and when I arrived to pick up me truck, I was told that there were no appliance dollies available even though when I booked the reservation I was told that that were in stock and available. This caused a massive inconvenience with the extremely heavy and large furniture items that were being transported, moved and hauled. Please don't advertise having equipment at a location is in fact the equipment is not in stock.
ARIELLE KI worked with both Isaiah and Carolin at this location. They were both fantastic. I was there several times to set up a one way trailer from Philly to Buffalo. They found an issue with my reservation and resolved it prior to my trip. Saving me a huge headache on the road. Their troubleshooting connected me to UHaul traffic and resolved all issues with the scheduled pickup in Philly. Isaiah was at this location all 3 times I visited and did everything he could to address my concerns and resolve all problems. He assisted me with storage after the move as well. He is one of the best individuals I have ever come across in customer service. U-Haul is lucky to have him.

That lack of communication should’ve been communicated in the beginning! My rent was increased way too often! It was probably increased 3 times! 2) if you’re going to increase my rent, learn how to answer your d@mn phone! There should be no d@mn reason why whenever I call it goes to the customer service line and not the d@mn store! You people are never that busy! Each time I’m there the store is dead quiet ! So what is the reason no one is picking up the phone??? The last time you greedy mfs try to increase my rent, I called each day multiple times to get an explanation! You telling me you couldn’t pick up not once??? Seems like you were purposely ignoring me cause you knew I was calling to ask why my d@mn rent is being increased again! I know the customer service agents told you multiple times why I called, and yet I never got a call back! Poor service, poor communication, poor everything!

I proceeded to scavenge the premises for my storage space that I paid $134 for for a month how dare he have rude customer service to a well paying customer. I also rented the u-haul truck and was told off to the left of the box as my instructions to the vehicle, after buying 2 large boxes and 1medium trying to carry paperwork. I’m not saying he had to do anything extra other than show me to my vehicle and storage.

Then gave us a unit that literally was the opposite side of the building about a quarter mile walk from the loading dock. It took several hours to unload a truck and walk everything all the way over. I will never ever rent another uhaul or go use a uhaul storage facility again.

But the employees were polite. Should be open longer then 10 pm I also seen a cockroach in the loading and docking area taking my belongs into storage. For all this my price should be a lot lower.

One improvement note would be to make sure your toilet paper is stocked regularly, seeing that you have a high volume of customers. It was mentioned paper towels were being flushed, and I believe it is because toilet paper was missing from the bathroom I used. Upgrading to larger commercial use toilet paper spools may be helpful! All in all I am very pleased. Thank you!

Scott c | Overall ExperienceHi, I was charged for a whole extra day - $40.00 for out of town because I handed in the keys of the truck 2 hours late. However, I was already in town with the truck. Even though the truck was already on the property from the day the before. It took me longer than expected to unload the truck. I had had 3 surgeries on my dominant hand and surgeries on both shoulders. It was just very hard for me. I just could not unload it faster. When the truck was due to be turned in at 3:00pm, I went in the office and begged for more time. The young lady gave me until 4:00pm, but I just could not completed it by 4pm. When I finally returned it at 5:00pm, she said that I inconvenienced another customer from renting the truck because I turned it in late. I don't necessarily believe that. The next nightmare was the storage room facility. Both Saturday and Sunday - The place was STINK!! Not my actual unit. But, when you enter the building there was a horrible stench from a toilet that needed fixing. I can understand for the first day because things happen, but I cannot understand why it was not fixed the following day. The next issue is with my actual unit. There is a 2 feet by 2 feet post from the building that takes up part of my 10 feet by 10 feet floor space. This is unfair!! I am not getting what I am paying for. There should be some consideration for this; I think that there should be a discount for this. Thank you,

They provided superb customer service and should be recognized for their efforts. The manager, Carolin leads her team by example. She was always accommodating when I needed help or had questions. U-Haul at Larkin District gets 5 stars!

You should not give out truck rentals based upon expected return dates but instead of when the trucks are actually returned. I based my moving for my employment based on these dates, however, those are not accurate in your database. Not to mention the super small storage units uhaul offers for a free month. This should be based off of the truck size that is rented not what you have available. I had an extremely hard time fitting a 26 foot truck rental into a space that is meant for a 2 bedroom apartment. Im sure guys can do better and since I manage 200 ppl on a daily basis I do not understand the barrier here. Thank you.

Carrie C | Overall ExperienceThe current Perry St location manager (Carolin Doyle) was EXTREMELY patient & helpful in resolving my most recent problem. My storage room was "presumed" to have been "vacated" - without making any attempt to contact me for verification - based on my failure to place a lock on the door, even tho it was simply because I hadn't yet moved anything into the unit. I was never prev advised that the lock was required, even on an empty unit & even tho the rent was fully paid to date. I was very impressed with her customer service efforts. I do wish, however, that there was 24 hour access to my indoor unit (or perhaps at least extended hours thru midnight or 1am) - similar to that of our outside storage units. It would simply make it more accessible when I can find help with moving my items. I am in my late 70s, & my potential helpers work til late evening.

The Larkin location is closer to our new place, and I love how large the loading doc is, and that we are able to bring in both of our cars at one time to unpack.
