Steven P | First ImpressionsThe car dolly was completely unsafe and unable to use as I had intended to. 30 mins after I hooked it up to my truck and just left the city, the driver side fender completely fell off. Inspected and noted it had previously been broken and someone horribly welded it back together in a manner that it would never hold. Then I noted the ratchets from the straps being loose and would never lock in place to hold a vehicle. Called the location back immediately and they offered no help other than “call the roadside line”. I didn’t have time for this because I needed to pick up a vehicle ASAP. Dropped it off back at their location after I found other means of towing said truck I needed the dolly for. Told the employee I refuse all charges for this unit and I refuse any damages to be repaired. I then stated to have my credit card not charged and he told me a manager would contact me the next day, it’s now been a week, no one has contacted me and there’s still a pending hold on my card. Maybe DOT/ VIU should begin inspecting UHaul locations for unsafe equipment. This fender breaking off and tearing itself free of the electrical cable could’ve ended much worse and I’d be directing the injured to U-Haul for reimbursement.

VETON SThe rental van smelled of cigarette smoke and was not cleaned from the previous use which is almost to be expected. When I got to my storage unit there was clearly some homeless people who got in there and spent the night. I found a used condom wrapper and small amounts of garbage all around the storage unit, pretty disgusting for a place where you are storing valuables and furniture. The personnel was helpful but the overall cleanliness of equipment was lacking. Overall I would not recommend u haul services for this reason and am considering a different option for longer term storage.

KRISTINA DDeliver the truck to the location and date on the contract. The extra trip to the city meant 5 extra hours of driving plus at 8 MPG the truck used an extra $100 in gas, plus the gas I used to drive into the city, plus a driver to drive my car back to Morden. which no one seemed concerned about. Wash it inside and out. Check for safety items like mirrors, and sun visors. Be much more organized and give some training to new and inexperienced staff. Make sure the customer gets the right truck and damage already on the truck be noted on the contract so your customer is not accused of possible damage. The check in and check out should be done efficiently and politely.

GIBB BOur vehicle wouldn’t start after leaving gas station, had to wait for road side assistance during our move, very frustrating. No compensation was offered.
Debbie RThe equipment was not ready despite the early reservation of the U-Haul. They gave us a different one and then it turned out the other one was for a different customer who had just arrived. In the end, they had to have someone else locate our truck for us.
RICHARD APlease maintain your vehicles better. The transmission in our truck was slipping very badly and it was hard to get it to shift gears. The starter was very weak and was acting up and wouldn't always engage. We were concerned about getting stranded during our move.

Thomas LPick up was great. Smooth & quick. Drop off was not great. The location was understaffed, causing for a long wait. Not the fault of your employee- he was great once he was able to serve us. You need to have more than one employee working at a time to ensure decently timed service.

MICHAEL VAs to customer service...all the equipment that is rented I.e. blankets, trolly, should be in the truck ready to go. Customers should not be expected to gather their gear. At the very least we should be told to gather the gear. I was not told and didn't realize I didn't have my gear until I reached my destination. Our job took much longer as a result.

remy a | Overall ExperienceThe guy wasn’t cheerful at all when my clients came in which was who I rented the storage for. They had to ask for the lock. They were told the lock was in the unit. It wasn’t. They had to walk back to the store and ask again. Then they have them a lock but they couldn’t open it. So they asked if they could cut the plastic to get the lock out. The service could have been better. My clients were t impressed.

ELIZABETH TWe have a national account (99103220). booking was for 5 days. Truck broke down. poorly trained person, rather that just switching out truck, closed contract. then said because it's a national account I would have to rebook through call center. The locations general manager was of no support at all. This caused hardship to our business. No truck for deliveries. We have on occasion had issues with other trucks from other locations and they simply switched them out. In my opinion more training and a better general manager is required.

CHRISTOPHER DU-Haul had zero winter tires and was horrid to drive. Nothing was explained well. Tried to get mobile pickup as it is an option on the site but was called 10 Hours before pickup that it was changed to later. Storage was the only positive. Overall experience was horrific especially driving as vehicle was horribly maintained and have heard horror stories regarding U-Haul but chose to ignore.

FATUMA M26 ft rental I booked was cancelled the day before my move day. I had to book two 15 ft trucks as they didn’t have a replacement 26 ft or 20 ft trucks. I was asked to pay extra for renting the second 15 ft truck. Their moving helpers scratched our furnitures badly. They were extremely slow and careless with our home and furniture. I am so disappointed with the truck and moving service we received from U-Haul. I don’t think I will use your services anymore and I won’t be recommending others to use it.

MICHAEL BI had originally booked 26 ft truck. I received a call from the store manager who told me that 26 ft is damaged. They downgraded me to a 15 ft. I asked her to give me another 15 ft so I can move my house. She told me that I need to pay extra for that. She wouldn’t offer the second 15 ft truck at the cost of 26ft truck. I think this is wrong, you shouldn’t be asking customers to pay more when you can not make the reserved truck available. The other issue is that I asked for two helpers. I chose the most expensive and recommended crew. They were extremely slow and careless. They damaged walls of the house we moved out, they scratched most of our furnitures. My wife is extremely upset, so am I. I don’t know how workers like this can be hired by your organization. I certainly won’t use your services again and can not recommend others to use.
BARISCAN YBrakes were very bad on our rental. When we dropped it off we already charged for the rental before we entered the store and we specifically said we wanted a different card to get charged. This was VERY inconvenient.

KENNETH GYour website said the INTERIOR dimensions of the trailer were 12’3’ x 6’4” x 5’5” (LxWxH), yet a boat measuring 11’8” long was too long to allow the door to close. We travelled almost 600km only to find out that the listed dimensions were wrong and the boat was too long to fit. I did not realize that 11’8” was greater than 12’3”.
G SI put gas in a 26 foot truck and went to load up the truck and smelled gas look at it and the return line is off and pouring gas out well driving then phoned the place where rented from it was busy so got directed to another line in haul they told me to fix it my self they couldn't have anyone come out

Separately: I slipped and fell outside the office door when I came to do my move out, and the whole parking lot was pretty icy. Maybe throw some gravel or sand down. On the plus side, all the admin stuff was easy and the staff were good in person and on the phone.

We go back to tell her, she “fixes” it so we walk all the way over to try to enter our storage unit with our code... doesnt work. we walk all the way back again to tell her its still not working, she says she will meet us over there. Okay so now she tells us its not working cause she assigned the wrong unit so thats why the door wasnt unlocking. now i receive an email saying our rent is past due and im being charged a late fee... we dealt with her only two days ago.. paid for the storage unit that same day. So im confused as to why im being charged double rent for one month? I guess she must have messed up again.

The manager was excellent to deal with, she went above and beyond to meet needs and staff were friendly. The only thing that I was concerned with was when I moved out the lights in the storage facility were out, and it was hard to see in my storage locker, also when I went in to sign papers for my move out the facility was left unattended and staff were all outside with customers waiting inside for service. I don't think the store should have been left unattended as someone could have stolen something and customers were wondering where staff were, it was very unprofessional on their part. Otherwise, everything else was great!

Bernard C | Overall ExperienceIf I could rate this as 0 stars I definitely would. We put our sectional up for sale as the storage fees are ridiculous. The buyer could not pick up the sectional up until 4 days into a new month I told there was no refund for the remaining days of the month that we weren't using the unit. Therefore, they can rent out that unit and make almost double on it in 1 month. There was no light in that unit plus the ceiling looked like it was starting to fall in guess that's why there no light in it. I will never rent a storage unit from uhaul again and I will also not refer anyone to use uhaul. I was not shown how to check in or check out so I had no clue how to even get into the uni someone else had to show me.
larry j | Overall ExperienceThe lot was a little crowded with u-haul vehicles, as I tried to pull away with my truck and trailer after emptying my locker, I had to get out and physically move a small u-haul utility trailer from blocking my exit. No big deal, but leaving room to enter and exit is a good idea! Otherwise very good service.
