We had a wonderful experience , the front desk was very friendly and helpful to assist accordingly with our questions and needs. One improvement: On the application please describe clearly ( when the office is closed off hours ) the location of the drop off key. We had difficulty finding.

JEFFREY TUnfortunately understaffed one person handled check ins took over 40 mins. 2 people behind me one was there to return a vehicle the other just had a question about putting a pad lock on her rental unit they both waited at least 30 mins to be served unacceptable. No parking at the front for customers but lots of rentals for advertising. Gas in the van was as only 1/4 tank at pick up not full. Could have been busier due to it being end of the month and people were moving but there should have been more staff .
WILLIAM IThe truck and trailer we rented met are needs with no problems. The staff were great but I felt bad that the customer line was so long maybe have chairs and a number system. Ashley and her daughter (Snow White) are very accommodating also Sam was a big help in "truck yard". Lastly we rented a unit as well. Good location for us!
DIANNE RI did everything online. I arranged for an 8am pickup of my equipment. I even scanned my driver's licence online. The store opened at 7am, and, hoping to get a jump on my busy day, I arrived at 735am... I was already 5th in line, there was only 1 employee working, and the line was getting longer! A second employee came in around 8 (after, not before), and slowly proceeded to start her shift. After finally being processed, at 820, I was told where I could find my rental, and that an employee would be there to assist me shortly. I wasn't waiting any longer- they never showed up, I hooked the trailer myself, including chains and wiring, and followed the online prompts to confirm my rental, and left. It was now almost 840am. I was there for nearly 1 hour, and almost everything I did was ONLINE. Why did they not have adequate staffing at opening?? Why did they not have a "fast lane" for those who did due process and did everything online?? I'll be definitely rethinking any future rentals from this location if this is common practice!! I work in customer service- what UHaul provided at this location is far from that!!

I've dealt with U-Haul many times and this was definitely my worst location experience.

Gurwinder SIn the past I have had good experiences at this location but this time it took forever to get served and when the manager did serve me she spent the whole time on the phone so when I said I wanted to decline the insurance she was no help at all and I was charged the insurance. I was already running late so I wasn't going to ask her to remove it and she already seemed mad at me for not picking the proper option. Then I go into the yard and wait 10 minutes, walk all over the place but was unable to find someone who worked there. I found the trailer and hooked it to my vehicle myself and left. FYI same thing happened when I brought it back later that afternoon....no one to be found in the yard so I just unhooked it and left it hoping someone would notice it was back!

As well, as tbe efficiency and ease I experienced once I was at the location to pick up my rental. Everything went smoothly. I only wish that I had been reimbursed for the blankets that I did not use, and were still sealed in their bags.
ARMANDO PGood service, but the vehicle (10' Truck - TM4758R) seems to have very poor gas mileage. I had to fill almost 35 litres of gas just for a 114 KM drive, which is really way too much spend for me. I'm not sure if there is an issue with truck gas tank or fuel sensor, but highly recommend you to please investigate to avoid bad experiences in future for customers.

PAUL RGot the auto hauler for a car that I had bought, specifically because the trailer had front tie down straps to secure the car. I figured that these would be checked on-site before customers take the trailers to make sure they are in proper working order, and length. So I didn't check them before the trailer got hooked up, thinking U-HAUL would make sure these straps would be as advertised in the videos. Well, didn't I find out that was not the case after getting the car up on the trailer to find the strap for the rachet end happened to be about 4 ft short. Had the car hooked up with the safety chains only and had to start my very long and slow drive home. I now know to make sure the straps will be long enough if I should need to use a trailer again in the future. I guess it still is true that the rental locations still won't put money into making repairs to things as there is no money in it for them..
ANDREW HIt was the end of the month when everyone is moving and trying to rent things and only one person was working at the desk at the time which was about 9:00 a.m. in the morning. I also paid for insurance that I guess is now automatically included in vans and trucks but nobody informed me of this change otherwise I would have rented a bigger truck

This was our favourite location they did give us $20 compensation but still not worth the headache

NORMANW S | First ImpressionsWhat a nightmare, first off, the unit we reserved wasn't available. To comp the mistake, they gave us a month free in 2 smaller units. Second level vs a drive up which isn't great but w/e not the end of the world. Only they never put the paper work in correctly so we got locked out not once, not twice but 3 times. Phone support couldn't help either. Then after we had already moved out and closed the account they continued to harass me over email about missing payments on a 2 units we never even used. Not only did they ignore the responses to their emails, they persisted in sending collection emails. The elevator to the second floor is slow, closes aggressively, and the button doesn't always send you down. The alarms constantly go off and staff ask you to ignore them as it's normal. I also suspect people might live in one of the lockers as they parked their car in one of the loading stalls for several hours despite unloading only a few items.

The gentleman I dealt with did help me find a solution but someone on your staff gave away my unit and should be held accountable. The facility is clean and beautiful. and I might recommend it but right now I feel like I would not.

The temperature information does not state celsius or fahrenheit. 2.There should be an email and a better signage before you enter the garage and at the keypad to remind customers to key in their password to their unit. The alarm sounds are very loud and when it is sounds unexpectedly it's scares the customer. 3. Also information regarding when this alarm, what should a customer do and what it means. 4. More CARTS!, there are not enough carts. I'm not sure if the second level has carts, it not, with the amount of units, the number of carts are insufficient. Perhaps having carts for second level could resolve this issue.
maria d | Overall ExperienceBest facility by a mile. Lots of indoor loading areas for both big moving trucks and smaller vehicles. Lots of dollies which is rare for a storage facility. I think the donation area is probably the best thing that this location has going for it, compared to any other storage facility I know. And bathrooms are conveniently located right by the loading areas. The only negative is the horrible alarm that sounds when loading bay doors are opening and closing. I can see the purpose when closing, but don't know why it has to happen upon opening too. What is the danger when a door is going up? It is such a loud, grating alarm. And the loud alarm that goes off regularly inside the building when someone forgets to check in at the keypad and opens their locker door. It sounds like nuclear war just broke out. Otherwise, love this place.

Always clean and in the promised temperature range. This may sound trivial but when you are digging to the back of a locker for a box the temperature is an important thing. Access 24/7 with your access code made the experience of retrieving or storing seasonal items or anything else for that matter very easy. Great location. I loved the drive in bays. And finally when I needed to rent a Uhaul van or truck the staff were not only friendly and polite but also easy to deal with. Very pleasant folks. I put my locker on a monthly billed to credit card and got an email every time it billed from Uhaul confirming the payment. No hassles of remembering to pay each month or getting locked out for forgetting to pay. The move out process was very easy, a nice change. Every try to cancel a phone or cable service. This was a breeze in comparison. What I needed all in one place with great staff.

Kimberly H | Overall ExperienceEvery time I had to interact with this business it turned into a frustrating, unsatisfactory experience. This began from the moment I rented my storage unit, when I didn't realize I needed ID, so I was refused the unit (even though I had just rented a U-Haul truck that I drove to the location). Being from out if town, I had no way to go home, get my ID,and be back before closing so I was forced to go home and rent the truck in the morning. Unfortunately the location I rented it from required the truck back in the morning, which I was unable to fulfill, and I was charged for an additional day. When I returned the next morning to rent my unit, I purchased a lock and provided a credit card for pre-authorized payments. A month later, a few days after the rent was due, I received an email advising that I had been charged an additional $15 because of my rent being late, I had no idea that there were any issues, yet I was suddenly charged for this? I promptly responded to the email advising that my rent couldn't be late as I was set up on pre-authorized credit card payments. I received an email back from manager Vanessa advising that my card was declined so that's why I was charged. I knew that there were no issues with the card so I asked Vanessa if we could confirm the expiry date to begin with. I didn't receive a response so about a week later I sent a follow-up email urging that I would like to get this resolved before the next payment was due, which also was unanswered. I then paid the overdue amount, including the $15 and emailed Vanessa yet again, to confirm my payment (through the card they were supposed to have on file) and asked her again to confirm the expiry date. She did not respond to this either. I then emailed U-Haul's general billing department, who I also never received a response from. As expected, a couple of days after the next payment was due, I received another message advising that once again, my rent was late and a $15 charge had been added to my account. I furiously responded once again, to please confirm the card information with me and expressed my displeasure that I was still dealing with this issue. Once again I received no response. A week to two weeks later I sent another email asking to resolve the issue or escalate it and once again, received no response. After a month, I was charged another $50 and had to escalate the situation myself to be resolved. This was dealt with to my satisfaction and I moved on, with no payment issues. It is unbelievable to me that a customer can be charged extra for no wrong doing (I gave the representative the card to enter for pre-authorized payments), and that they should have to waste so much time and effort to have the matter resolved. Unfortunately I wish that was also the last of my issues. In October I had to get some items from my unit. I arrived and discovered a chain on it, preventing me from opening it, with no notice or communication of why. I went all the way up to the office and was informed that my lock wasn't sufficient (that would be the same lock I purchased, for the unit, from U-Haul the day I rented the unit). I was provided a new lock and told someone would be out to remove the chain shortly. We waited 10 minutes and my husband finally went into the building and found someone who could do it. I was extremely bothered that I hadn't received any communication of this lock issue. I live in another city so it takes me a while to get there. What would I have done if I had shown up outside of business hours! Just be stuck without access? Why couldn't I have been notified of this issue through email so it could have been resolved? Why did I have to go through all this trouble, and why was the lock suddenly an issue when it wasn't when I bought it for the unit? Overall, any staff member I have dealt with has been fairly pleasant, with the exception of the manager Vanessa but I am so glad to have this entire experience behind me and never ever deal with them again.

A past due notice was sent to my daughter in Burlington not me in Milton. Then a "pre-lien" notice was sent to my daughter. Something obviously went wrong. The staff corrected the situation but said that these notices originate in the USA.

When I had spoken to a staff, which turned out to be the manager and she was very rude and brushed me off. I later came to visit my unit and found my lock was removed and told I wasn't paying for and couldn't access my unit. The staff made my transition to move my stuff a very stressful experience when it didn't need to be. My experience with U-Haul at the beginning was not well received, but at the end it was agreeable.

There was only one small hiccup, where the lock that was supposed to be in my unit was missing, and had to wait for another one to be brought to me, as I could not leave my items unattended.

Staff understood my needs due to a small disability and put me as close to the front doors as possible. SO much better than the current storage facility I'm at. Unfortunately I moved over 130k away otherwise I would have kept the Milton location.

Adam M | Overall ExperienceBecause of our need to relocate both our home & business, we have experienced a number of storage companies; Public Storage, U-Haul, Apple/Access & SmartStop. The last 3 had indoor climate controlled units. Apple/Access were just not clean. U-Haul was far better, but did not have the size required (10x30) when we need to rent. SmartStop was the best. Your bay doors are the best. The lights really aid to the safety and provide excellent information regarding when to enter or leave. The facilities at Lawson & those of SmartStop are superior because they were built for that specific need. Apple/Access have adapted warehouses to meet their needs; which in my opinion, just did not work as well as yours. Miss Vanessa, the manager, was very helpful and was always smiling.

Naturally I was angry but what got me really upset was the guy at the front desk. He could not even apologize, instead he told me to go call 1800 Uhaul and register my displeasure with them or not take the size 10 at all. I was shocked at his response, he was very rude. Another lady came out and appears to be the manager, she said she didn't like my tone and decided to cancel the size 10 truck too anyway. She said she Uhaul does not rent to my type anyway. I was left with no truck that day and my whole day was ruined. I am a black man, and I genuinely believe I had my first direct racial abuse that day. Otherwise, what does she mean by "Uhaul does not rent to my type anyway". It was disgraceful. If my size 20 truck wasn't available, I understand these things happens and I expect the customer service person to apologize, atleast show a bit of empathy. His words were "dude we only have a size 10, take it or contact uhaul" . I could go on, it was disgraceful.

I do notice that most units this size are empty as I walk to my unit. And the unit was not locked with a tag that could be broken as per the email. Rather it was locked. So I had to go all the way back to loading area, drive to the front office and then do it all over again. The unit and facility is pretty clean and the next visits were smooth. Still not so happy with the ‘faraway’ unit with so many empty units in between.

Ayokunle A | First ImpressionsOne issue we have had to do with the service elevator. The door closes way too fast, and the floor of the elevator, when stopped at a floor, rarely lines up with the floor of the level. This results in (1) difficulty in even getting into the elevator, and (2) a challenge getting the dollies/carts up and over the lip of the elevator. Also, the carts would be better if they had brakes on them, so as to not roll away when loading or unloading. Finally, the loading dock does not line up with the back hatch of the trucks (we were using one of your trucks), resulting in either a hazard getting in and out of the truck, or having to leave the truck well away from the dock, in order to have to fully extend the ramp. I reserved a 20 foot truck five weeks prior to my move, and was told 40 hours prior to the move, that there was only a 17 foot available, and I was not allowed to get a trailer (apparently they are not to leave the GTA.) Nothing like finding out two days before your move you will not be able to fit all of your personal effects. Storage unit was great.( after calling the destination Uhaul drop off - who could not understand why I wasn’t given what I’d booked- they called the Milton location and then a 20 footer showed up just in time. Huzzah. Overall the Truck rental at this location was a disaster.)
