LAWRENCE GNothing, I've used this location 3 times over the last 10 years and have always had a great experience.
JOHN DThere was a man yelling at me that I parked in the wrong spot when I ASKED HIM to help me know where to park. And I was following every single direction in the app to a TEE and was waiting for the photos of the uhaul to upload to I could go to the next step “confirm your parking location” and then he came up to me yelling and being so aggressive!! I explained I hadnt gotten to the part when I know where to park bc the app was still loading and he got WAY more aggressive and so I walked away. I will never be able to rent from uhaul again after this even it’s not uhaul it’s that man!! I dropped it off at 12:45 on Wednesday May 14th at the military highway Norfolk location if you need to know who it was. African American older man. Very scary and definitely not someone I’d want working for me if I were uhaul! Terrible representation even when unprovoked

James GIt's not that there's no parking for customers and the old man who was assisting was typing a bit wrong, even my email was entered incorrectly, so I didn't receive an email for the confirmation receipt that I was cleared for the vehicle. Of course, it's hard because I want all the transactions to be smooth so I don't have to think about it anymore, so I called to receive an email, but it turned out that the email I entered was wrong.

ROBERT JU-Haul needs to create a "frequent user" program to streamline rentals for people who regularly rent from U-Haul. I can also return the equipment when I'm told the first time, I don't need to be talked to like a child, and beyond that, I don't need to be called and reminded, and even asked to return early just to make sure its back in time for the next customer, or asked to call in to verify I'll return on time.

STEVEN AWhile yes I did mark my experience as poor it has nothing to do with the staff. Recently with all the snow in our area not much of it has melted. With a pretty thick layer of snow on top of the vehicle it was just a ticking time bomb to melt, which it did. However, I rivet from the roof portion of the vehicle was missing. This allowed for a direct path for the melted snow (now a lot of water) to drain into the “mom’s attic”. Unfortunately this all happened while the truck was loaded leading to my cardboard boxes getting destroyed.

Rebecca DI'm trying to figure out why do y'all have $19.95 on the trucks and y'all charge $89 a day plus taxes so when I first made my reservation it said that I was only paying $35.95 due at pick up and upon arrival when I had to come out of pocket with $142 .45 so that's false advertising when you're going to put $19.95 on the rental trucks saying that's how much you charge to rent a van

CHARLES JI rented a tow dolly. They should have to me no assistance would have been given to load and secure vehicle properly. I would have had someone else come with me as I am disabled. The destination location was farmington MO. They mistakenly put farmington MI. I had to make a lot f phone calls trying to get the destination changed. I kept getting told to call another number.

Specially the crew working on the 20th of August 2024. Thank you all!! On the side of the facilities, I lost a lounge chair, and a big Asian rug to rats. It was several months since the last time I went in the unit, but don't understand if it is a closed facility, how they got in. Anyway, those are valuables that we lost that are irreplaceable. With that exception everything was good.

SHANNONEUGENIA H | Overall ExperienceI was treated nasty and unprofessional by the manager my debit card was charged several times fraudulently without my consent and I don’t have auto pay set up I was lied on by one of the employees that said I cussed them Never did I say one cuss word to this lady she called about the bill I said okay let’s take care of it she say hold on and when she came back to the phone she say your card was declined I say I never gave you my card number so what did u run and she said the one on file I say that’s a problem right there you just running people cards without permission and she started telling me how I should have told her from the beginning then I hung up on her I was at work and didn’t have time to go back and forth so then I get a message on my phone from this manager named D and she said all my stuff had to be out of her storage unit by Sunday this was Thursday she left this message and said no other uhaul would be allowed to do business with me now I’ve been a customer for at least 3 years paying no less than $180 a month and was treated like this terrible experience

Keandra E | Online Move InMy access code was not initially working. It was denied 6 times, before it finally worked on the side door. My husband and i made sure to put it in slowly and accurately. Still not clear why it took us so long to gain access. Once getting into the facility. There is no number guide to direct you to the units. And it is a huge maize. We found my unit. The unit was padlocked . I had to go back outside to the front door and call the after hours helpline and wait for the general manager to come and unlock it. There was no lock provided, as promised. But the general manager came quickly 15 minutes or less, and she was extremely helpful…especially considering it was the holiday weekend.

This added 2 hours onto our long moving day. The employee who helped us at the Roanoke was very rude and short with us. When I showed up to the Chesapeake location, they at first told me I did not have a reservation (which I had reserved a month earlier) but were much more helpful afterwards. The online check out was not very descriptive and we had a hard time doing that online check out.

Sadly on one too many occasions, including when i was moving out, the older lady working who smoked right out front of the building, often gave short remarks, and customer service with her was poor. She accused my movers of making a mess, when infact there was a leak in the storage building hallway, that I asked to be cleaned up for safety reasons. And after I showed photo proof of the leak she cleaned it up but was rude about it. All and all for the space provided and the costs it was not worth it and they often had way too many rentals on the lot limiting the access to the storage, if someone was already parked in the space.

They told me they didn’t have that size available and wouldn’t for a while, but they had another size available. I was confused why I could make a reservation for that size starting tomorrow since it wouldn’t have been available anyway, and asked about the issue. They gave me a free month in the other, available storage unit which I really appreciated. To my own fault, I lost my keys to the locker and (incorrectly) assumed a storage locker company would have the capability to get the lock off. My mom asked about it while I was moving in to my new place and was told that it was no problem and they would get it off. When I showed up to open my locker, they said they couldn’t do it anymore (after they said they could) and that I would have to hire a locksmith. $65 and three days later I finally got the lock off. I relied on their word, and it wasn’t followed through. Other than those issues the facility was okay.

In he 4 months we have had the unit, each time we have gone by, the auto doors were open and we never needed any access codes. On 4/27 1 day after paying our rent early, I took my movers by just to see the unit contents. I could not access. Asked an attendant to help me, I had the key, but no access info. He was very disrespectful, and unhelpful. I dis not want to go into the office ro wait, to be around others dyeing this virus. But I did. Was given mycodes. When I asked another rep about a possible refund for the month because I paid early and now movers can empty it, she suggested asking at the price So tuesday 4/28 the unit was emptied. I waited inside amongst others, with several not wearing masks. And was told I could not get a refund. Irritating, waste of money. The unit was empty and clean. My fault for being responsible and paying the bill early, I guess.
