The employees at this location were very nice and tried to be helpful. The issue I had was with the check in process. The fact that I had to do it all online and had to change the settings on my phone to be able to finish the check in process and get going was beyond frustrating. The truck I rented was clean but warning lights advising service came on shortly after I started driving. I will not be renting from UHaul in the future and in fact I deleted the UHaul app from my phone.

RONALD JCustomer service is nonexistent. First Gentlemen barely wanted to help. Second gentleman that did assist, that I had to request him to do so, provided me with an already used unit with items in it. The unit where it was, the entire hallway was filled with dirty items on the floor. When I came back to have another unit, there was no one there to assist for over 10 minutes. I had to call customer service just to have someone come to the front desk. The new unit I was given, has a hole at the top, rat droppings are in my storage and I can barely close my lock because the door is old and worn. This is beyond unacceptable. This entire facility from staffing to storage is poorly managed and a health hazard. Public Storage would never have lazy staff or a lack of accommodations.

John WHonestly, I will never recommend U-Haul to anyone ever again. The drop off of my pod was over 4 hours late with 0 communication from u-haul staff. I felt like I was working at U-Haul instead of the other way around. Nobody was helpful, nobody provided pertinent information, and nobody could even assist with the timing of my pod when it was delayed over 4 hours. I will NEVER go through u-haul again to move my belongings. For the price you pay, service is trash and assistance is subpar. Put your money elsewhere.

CHANDA BWhen attempting to check in for our reservation it told us that we needed to go to the counter to complete it. When we went to the counter employee told us that he was unable to assist us as he needed a manager code to complete the reservation. He shared that he had contacted the manager but she was “around back”. We waited for an hour for her to arrive and she completed the process for us. This took time away from our loading time and because of that we were late throughout the day, costing time and money in other areas of our love. I would not recommend this location to anyone in the future. The employee at the counter was unable to help the many customers in the store and the manager was non-responsive and seemingly unaware of how her absence impacted customers. I am unsure of how much I recommend the online check in system because if it’s need to assistance that is not always accessible.

This didn’t make any sense to me because I had already given UHaul my credit card information when I made the reservation weeks prior online, and also there was absolutely no messaging received that said if I arrived late at all that my truck would not be reserved for me anymore. It took 25 minutes of arguing with staff until the manager finally said she had another smaller truck available - because my move had to happen right away that morning, we took the smaller truck and made it work. No discount offered, no apologies offered, just rude people. Won’t be going back in the future.

Jason DI paid for an extension and the manager Sharon was on the phone with my brother in law who had the reservation under his name and me on it to modify if necessary. Sharon was in the phone with him on 2/21/25 and put him on hold and reported the uhaul truck stolen because the card she tried for $199.00 declined. Mine you I’m on the phone too with another young lady too and she process the $152.01 for us ti extend until Monday 2/25/25 all for the same truck. I told my brother hang up I extended before you (forgot to the day before to extend). So 2 hours later I get a phone call from Sharon accusing me of speaking to her earlier and telling me how I need to bring the truck back because it’s been reported stolen by her. When I explained how it’s already extended and asked her why did she do that she told me that when the card declines after a missed extension they put out the vehicle as stolen. That is about the dumbest sugar honey ice tea I’ve ever heard. It is 2025 and the majority of everyone’s cards are locked or funds have to be transferred in order to stay safe from scammers etc. I’m glad my card was locked because how come she tried to charge me $199.00 Sharon I’m speaking of, but the young lady I spoke to only charged me $152.01 to extend. So that was janky anyways and needs to be reassessed I will never rent from uhaul again I will go elsewhere where the customer service is professional. Also Marlo the guy at uhaul in the store was nice and helpful. The 1st day we got the truck and on 2/21/25 when we brought it back. Meanwhile Sharon told me on that one call that if we get pulled over just call her at the store but for what she wasn’t there after that call and when we arrived she wasn’t there and she never told Marlo or anyone else what happened just in case we got pulled over and called there. We are African Americans and were put at risk to be pulled over by cops which was a very unsettling dealing more so because we didn’t do anything to make that our reality all she had to do was click over on the phone to my brother Inlaw and tell him try another card or how do he want to pay. My card declined in the phone with the lady I spoke to and she told me and allowed me to pay still. We had events work and school yesterday and had to put it all on hold to return the truck. Also I was told that I have to return that truck and rent another one but uhaul had already taken my money so I had no money to rent another truck so my project for this weekend was canceled and I lost so much money behind it. Never again uhaul will never get my money or my word to mouth business.

The next day, Angel from U-Haul called to ask me when I was going to return the van!! I called the Pulaski office, the person at the store acknowledged that they had not yet completed the return paperwork! !!! Regarding well maintained: The same lack of reliability occurred with storage units. I have three (3) units at the Pulaski store. I have been happy for at least 10 years. NEVERTHELESS, on 2/3/2025 when I tried to access my units, I was not able to open my storage units. My Unit B269 had a lock that was NOT mine. Because I have 3 units, I have 6 keys which I keep on my daily lanyard at all times. None of the 6 keys fit into the lock on B 269. I even requested that the U-Haul staff try to open the door for me. The U-Haul staff could not open the door because because the lock on my unit was not mine. What happened? The belongings in unit A356 are not as I left them. It looks like I am missin 2 matresses. Everything in B 356 is topsy-turvy: I left the storage in a condition where I could hace aacessed something id necessary: this condition is no longer true. Something bad has happened.!!! For the first 4 to 5 years, I was extremely pleased. I liked and respected the staff.

ACHILLES CWhile driving I discovered the windshield wiper fluid wasn't working. Since there was salt being kicked up from the road, we had to stop a couple extra times to manually clean the front window. Please note that when I returned the truck the guy that received the truck tested the windshield wiper fluid and it worked. The truck was on a slightly nose down angle so maybe it relieved the cord, but for the entire day the day before, I kept pushing the button throughout the day and it didn't work. There was also a light in the cab that would not turn off. It was fine while I was driving during the day but when night set, it was too bright in the cab for a comfortable ride - so we used a napkin to cover the light so I could see clearly out the window. As far as the driving and engine -those worked just fine. :)

As of today i still have not received my refund due from my cancellation of the insurance I added after someone tried to break my lock to get into my storage room. I emailed the manager Ms. Sharon L on June 8th 2023 to tell her that my renters insurance with GEICO does cover my storage room at Uhaul also. My email explicitly asked for a cancellation of the insurance from uhaul I was paying and I also attached a copy of my proof of insurance/ declaration page from GEICO. On October 30th i came by to move out but my storage unit was illegally locked by Uhaul even though my account was paid in advance. The white male i dealt with promised walked with me my helper to my unit. However he was unable to unlock the uhaul lock on top of my own lock but he promised to come back to cut out the illegal lock but he didn’t. I had to reschedule my move for the 31st instead because of the lock Uhaul put illegal my on top of my own lock, causing me to pay extra for bringing movers. On October 31st i met with Ms Sharon the manager to let her know of my dissatisfaction and also ask for a refund for the month of November and the refund for the insurance from June to October 2023. I still have not received the refund of the insurance. Ms Sharon asked me to resend the original email from and I did however still no refund yet. Please refund my money. Fatima

I was then offered a bigger unit, with no price adjustment due to THEIR mistake, and proceeded to give me a unit that was ALREADY rented out to someone else. At that point they told me that they had no units for me. How is that possible? I drove from Philadelphia with a full 26’ truck and was left scrambling because of complete incompetencey. This facility should be absolutely ashamed of itself. I was also charged for gas even though i filled the tank to the levels i received the truck at. When i spoke over the phone with customer service that agreed with me based on the pictures i took of the fuel levels. Just greed, incompetence and flat out stupidity. I will never use uhaul again and am in the process of asking for a refund. I will also tell everyone I know to stay away from this facility and have called the better business bureau about this issue.

It is not the nicest uhaul location as far as the space but the service is unmatched. I think there may have been a mouse that got into my belongings and there was no food stored there so that's not great but the staff was incredibly helpful with every part of my move and storage needs. The theft came multiple time and empty the unit. When I notice the staff they were indifferent and unwilling to corporate. One of the worker even say it’s my problem for getting it stolen and she had worked here for 9 years and this never happened before. After I notice the lock was replaced by theft they told me I can’t cut the lock myself and have to wait 48 hours for them to cut it. After I called the police and insist that I need to open the storage today since it is no longer safe. They cut the lock for me after 7 hours. Even worse, when I got there they left the storage unit unlock even after they know there was theft. And when I talked to the manager, he said he cut the lock but he wasn’t aware of theft, cause the staff didn’t notice him. Before the theft, I was trying to get in the storage in access hour which is 5am to 10pm. The front door was broken. I called the staff they said it was broken and the alarm was off. And say the hour should be to 9pm, which is a lie. This place also doesn’t have security camera everywhere. When the theft happen, they told me there isn’t security camera at my storage.

On a 93 degrees Baltimore day when their air conditioning unit was out and also the elevator in the storage building the kindness and clear-headedness with which they handled my move in was amazing. The weather situation nearly did me in, but these troopers, professionals all the way, adjusted and adapted and kept a positive spirit and upbeat attitude every step of the way. I couldn't have done any of what they did, even when I was younger and more inclined to deal with adverse circumstances. Not only were they helpful to me, but also to the Moving Helpers moving my stuff in from the Uhaul van to the storage unit. I'm sorry I didn't take time to learn their names because I want to remember them not only as super pros, but also as people who care about their customers as human beings. Moving back to Baltimore to begin my retirement journey I will be eager to recommend this site to everybody I know needing storage space. I will learn the names of the two professionals stuck in a hellish situation themselves who went the distance to keep my experience from being unpleasant and find a way to express my appreciation. I hope Uhaul admin around here recognizes how valuable these folks are to the company!

I paid for 24 hour access and found that I was the wrong storage facility I was told Canton during the reservation however I emailed a different location. Highland town . The facility didn't have the spaced that reserved for. I was running out of time. Was not able to put all my pieces in storage. I was not able to drive up to the dock, due to the places is locked after 8 pm. I left the office like 7:39 to go home to to get my things to come back to the facility. I'm was very frustrated and mad after looking into a smaller storage than I originally reserved. I had to move my things in the storage leaving on have to stiggle to get through a small door! Iaftet seeing the strlirwhe I had no time or money to reserve another place . After looking inside the storage facility I had cried . It was so upsetting to see that my things were in an old room with a big Rat Trap and very thin walls and the floor was cracked to the point it had easy access for rats to run over things. You told the office man to change out my storage due to the access to the building. And gave me a smaller one. The one assistant at the office knows how I feel about the whole situation. The manager was not there . The assistance at the office had to handle the office by himself . He had it under control. It was really busy.

I could barely see what was in my storage locker during the day and couldn't see anything at night. The ceiling broke apart over my locker a month into my storage and ruined half of the items in my storage locker. I was partially replaced a couple months later but it was a patch job. Rat's got into my locker and defecated everywhere (There was nothing edible in my locker but I believe the locker next to me had something in it). The solution to all of this was somebody throwing a tarp, bucket and ladder over the top of my locker. I am absolutely disgusted with my experience at this facility. I paid for a locker that was not serviceable and the result was half of my property getting covered in rat poop, dust and ceiling debris. I emailed the manager about this (And got no response). I also confronted employees and him in person but nothing was immediately done to help me. None of the employees/the manager were rude but nothing was done to help me. Am I a customer or is uhaul just collecting my money every month for a service that I am no be rendered!!!!

That may just be the way it is everywhere, but I'll never want to put my belongings in storage again. The first time I went to retrieve my things, there was a glue trap right in front of the door with a wriggling mouse stuck in the glue, which I then had to dispose of myself, and I couldn't even locate a garbage can, so I had to carry it downstairs in the elevator to the bathroom where I knew there was a garbage can. Maybe that's just the way it has to be, and I'll just never use self-storage again. But I do want you to relate to your employees that I am grateful for their assistance.

Although, they advertise 24-hour access to your things, but in my experience even the after-hours access door locks up at 10pm; therefore, making your access code useless. Another big issue my wife and I experienced was mice/rats. It is advertised that your stuff is safe from chemical treatments that the facility has done to "maintain" their pest problem. Out of one week of going to my unit to move our belongings to our new home, three of those days in a row I saw multiple mice run from unit to unit on the third floor. Now, I’m in the United States Army, I’ve dealt with much worse conditions before, but if you’re going to advertise you are managing your pest problems, I expect them to be managed better than what I experienced. Because of this facility, my wife and I had to disinfect every single item in our unit and throw many things away. This facility also almost ruined our $2000 bed. Again, some staff were very friendly and helpful, but the facility itself needs to be better maintained. It was a nice secure place for our belongings for the two and a half weeks it was there, but never again will I come to this place, or recommend it to anyone else. I prefer not to have more of my belongings ruined by mice/rats.
