While the equipment was useful and clean, the staff was incredibly unhelpful. The manager was gossiping so loudly to his employees I couldn't hear my cashier. I was asking basic questions as this was a first uhaul experience and I was treated like I was extremely dumb. Questions about fueling were unanswered. Dollies I put in the reservation for were not available. I made plans around this availability I would have liked to have known this.

Cheri MThe location and service was great. The uhaul website was down and it took us 1hr to go in and get 1 vehicle. Only because several people left. If not we would have been there even longer. The service provided was great. The people behind the counter were very patient. The truck we rented NEEDED an alignment. I was so afraid of driving it on the freeway. The steering wheel was so loose. Pretty scary.
Esmeira LService was GREAT. however, you can tell the uhaul boxes are just quickly thrown together as mine had a huge nail sticking out of it (into the box itself) and caused damage to one of my favorite pieces of furniture. I would recommend Uhaul double checks the boxes for things like these before delivering them to the customer.

Clifford T | Overall ExperienceI have used the location in the past and have always found Andre' to be extremely helpful, I have found that his enthusiasm is contagious as his entire staff is friendly and customer focused, it is a pleasure doing business with Andre' and his team. I recently visited the store to rent a 6X12 trailer and was wondering out loud if I could rent a 26ft truck and then someone to drive it for me, Andre' recommended Bearded Brothers movers who offer just such a service. Those guys are phenomenal, they loaded 2 households on a 26ft U Haul and drove from Houston to Hot Springs Village in one day, off loaded the truck and set up all the furniture and then drove back to Houston that same night. My wife totally fell in love with the 3 guys who did the work and will recommend them to as many people as possible. Andre' is amazing and made our stressful move stress free!!!!! Thank you again U Haul and your amazing team!

RICARDO PI have never been so impressed with customer service than I have with Andre Leakey, the GM of this location. This team is amazing and so very customer focused that it's unreal, his entire team is all about the customer. It's is a pleasure to do business with this location. In a world of employee's appearing bothered by customers U Haul is an amazing customer focused company!!!!!!
BRUCE TTruck was clean however near the end of our moving the truck wouldn’t start. Roadside assistance arrived and he said the battery cable was not properly attached (screw too short) and came detached. We lost almost an hour and a half of moving time due to this delay.
Mary MMy fiancé is in the hospital having emergency surgery and I needed to move her belongings out of her apartment and into my house. So, I took an Uber to the West 18th location to pick up a truck that I had reserved online. Once there I used the Uhaul App to check in and was told there was no truck available for me. I called customer service, and was informed the closest truck was at the W 34th location. So, I had to take another Uber to that location. Once there I was told the same thing, that there was no truck available for me. After several minutes I was informed that they had a "One Way" truck available, but it would cost me more money!!!! So, not only did I spend $40 unnecessarily in Uber rides, but I also had to spend more money on a truck. Horrible customer service and horrible way to do business. Bryan DI would like the U-Haul company to improve their policy regarding vehicles in need of service. I rented a van, thinking that it was in good condition, and the right rear tire was almost flat. Since I already signed for the vehicle, they could not exchange it. This left me having to reach out to roadside assistance after driving on the damaged tire over 90 miles, to have the tire replaced. This was very dangerous, and I would think that U-Haul would take better care of their customers. The staff at the store is wonderful; however, the exchange policy is terrible.

Mark MI had the absolute worst experience ever because I was given a truck with a lock and not provided a code, 35 minutes trying to get help. The gas was a 1/4 tank less than what they listed. Then I drove to my home only to realize they didn’t provide me with the dolly’s so I had to drive back and then there was a line of 25+ ppl, mind you I am being charged by the hour, wasting gas, and charged for mileage to return to get the equipment they forgot. I tried to ask for a manager and they told me I would have to wait in line. (Moving costs escalating) I asked to please help me, I just need my equipment so I can drive back to start my move. I feel it is not fair I am charged gas, mileage not to mention it cost me an hour of moving. It was the worst experience. Not one person apologized.

Matthew NWas very slow,and not knowledgeable about what they had to rent. I rented a tow dolly to go from your Houston location to go one way to be dropped off in Lufkin the next day. I dropped it off the next day like I was supposed to on Saturday. Monday morning Uhaul was calling me telling me that I hadn’t returned the dolly back to Houston and that there was going to be more charges added to me. She was very rude and unprofessional. She the then proceeded to inform me that the manager would be contacting me. A few days later latter the manager contacted me ant let me know that they screwed up on there end and he was going to fix it and he did. He went out of his way to make sure the issue was taken care of and refunded part of my payment.

First Tidwell @ I45, can't recall her name was approachable and knowledgeable of your services even though equipment was not available there, she was able to find one at another location. Also, staff at this location (34st) was very friendly and helpful, went out of their way to make sure equipment attached to my vehicle was properly secured. From the front desk both manager on duty and assistant manager were very pleasant to deal with to the gentleman at the yard. (Did not catch their names)

Domingo CUtilize employees more efficiently. There were at least 3 active employees and only one person was being helped at a time. Took close to 20 minutes before I could get my rental....I was the third person in line. I will likely drive further out of my way to rent from Home Depot before Uhaul. Sorry.
ANDREW JA little confused about the drop off process. The team member in the front stated that someone would be there to help once the truck was driven around to the canopy but no one was there. However, after dropping off through the app, everything else was pretty straight forward.

Therefore I could not move all my stuff into it and when I asked for a different unit that was on the ground floor they upsold me told me there was only a massive unit left which was an extra hundred dollars a month and I had no choice but to accept that because by this time I had already moved all my stuff from Austin here and had no else to put it so it felt a little predatorial how they treated me. And by renting a U-Haul truck I'm supposed to get a first month free for my unit but of course that doesn't apply to the new unit I had to get because I couldn't unload my stuff into a second floor walk up unit. This was the worst experience I've ever had and after I move my stuff out, I will never use U-Haul again for anything.

I was also under this property had an elevator, however it was stairs only. I would have rented at a different property knowing these things. Lastly, I have an email receipt saying I qualified for a free first month. When I checked in I was told that was only for 5x10 units. I asked since I had two if I could get one of them free and was told that was not possible. I arrived ready to pay $7 for my unit and left paying $124. I wish there would have been more communication so I could have discerned if this was the right property for my needs.

They called the closest other facility and they also did not have the right unit available so was going to be double what I reserved. Staff on location said "that has nothing to do with us it goes through corporate we can't help you." It took 20 mins of waiting before finally one offered 1 month free in the expensive one and now I have to go back to move all my stuff at my own cost when the correct unit becomes available.

Had to change units but the staff wasn’t very motivated to change it until I continually complained. This was a Sunday and a manger with the authority to do so was not on site. I was moved finally that same day. Since then, I have been contacted twice stating they didn’t know which unit was mine. First time, we corrected the issue then a week later I was asked again because they lost the paperwork that I drove up there to fill out. Their organization is terrible and very unprofessional!

I spent almost an hour (and $50 for hired Labor) waiting for my unit. When it was finally handed over, it was on the 2nd floor and there is no elevator in the facility. Large heavy items would have to be moved in the staircase which would be extremely difficult. I had to cancel the storage. Very disappointing and expensive.

My biggest concern there now is the fact that the lighting is not working at night so it’s very very dark and unsafe. I spoke with facility yesterday and they told me that it was a problem that stemmed from the ice storm but he’s working to get that fixed waiting on the electrician but I explain to him that is very dangerous and he said he would get on it right away again. The entire staff here is very helpful though so I know he’ll get it done.

He helped me get a better unit because I found out the original storage unit I booked online was upstairs and he had no elevator so Nigel Hilliard found me a ground unit outside to help because I did not have help unloading my truck. Nigel also tried to help me as much as he could with my truck dilemma but unfortunately the system would not allow him to help me more than what he wanted to but he has fantastic customer service skills and he definitely should be promoted to a better position if possible because you need more people like him in your establishment.

The staff did not seem informed of who was coming in/going out that day plus they were understaffed. Though my overall experience was not satisfactory, Victor, the manager, did a good job rectifying the situation.
