The guy helped me hook the trailer behind my truck, but it got lost as soon as I passed a rough road on my way home. How dangerous is that?!! I can't imagine if it got lost on the road and maybe hit other cars. It's not professional at all!!!

It was a bad experience i will never recommend this uhaul to anybody I reserve a storage with my name and number i get there they said they gave my storage to someone else instead of accommodating me they tried to make me pay for a different unit and it was more money

While the facility was clean and the front staff were kind and helpful, they did not honor my reservation. I made a reservation months ago, and when I arrived they said my unit was given to another customer and there was nothing they could do. They gave me a larger, more expensive unit with a month “free” , but informed me I’d then pay double price for the new unit. They should have honored my reservation and charged me exactly what I was quoted. For this reason I rated them below average. There was no attempt to rectify, rather blamed corporate for the error. We will not rent again there or recommend it to other's.

The staff was clearly VERY frazzled. we made a reservation for a 5x5 unit unaware that it's first come first served. It was not clear on the reservation that we really weren't reserving anything just adding our name to a list. We will go elsewhere next year.

I had reserved a storage unit a while ago. I had even called and gave my reservation number and confirmed that it is all running smoothly. I show up and all of the storage units that was the size I reserved was occupied. I had to get the next size, double the price of what I originally needed and what was confirmed with the call. I’m disappointed with the lack of coordination and notification despite calling and confirming the reservation.

I was asked to estimate my mileage which was 25. I took a picture of the beginning mileage and the ending mileage. I drove 11 miles. When I returned the truck, the women said she would check gas and miles. She either didn't check miles or cants count. Other issue was told 3/4 tank of gas. When I got into truck it was clearly under 3/4's

Had a horrible experience with several employees very rude. I’ve rented almost 200 times in the last three years from Uhaul Raymond Andrew Eissfeldt 217-377-8064 came in to rent a vehicle on Sunday and I was told that “Corporate would not rent to me” I have to say that your lines are recorded. People could listen to the phone calls. I’m going to actually be calling Corporate tomorrow I used to live in Arizona and know the Uhaul organization well .

Process renting cargo van was duplicative using website. I input my drivers license on website but still had to have it scanned at facility. I also input alternative contact on website but had to supply an additional alternative contact at facility. Experience would be better if I can upload license and been asked for second alternative contact on website.

We're picking up gas gauge was at half tank when dropping off gas was at half a tank but they said it was slightly off half a tank and charged $7.12 for what would have amounted to maybe a gallon of gas. Had believe that rental price at time of rental included mileage but was surprised to find that mileage was added when dropping off. Not a big deal necessarily but would have been nice to know that this was going to be a cost that was incurred

I was notified that the storage is closing and I have to remove all my items out of my storage unit just a week before the closing date!!!!!!!!!! I just have a baby and have been out of state and could not be physically there to move my items in such short notice. This is totally unacceptable and unreal!!!!!!! The manager, Victor, on the other hand, was super helpful to make my move to another nearby U-Haul storage in Urbana smooth coordinating with Jessica the GM there, although I do not know yet if the move has happened and have not received any information on that regard.

This location was a nightmare from start to finish. The contactless pickup didn’t work. I had to stand in line for 30 minutes. They didn’t have the truck I’d reserved so I had to get a smaller one. Finally went out to get it, and it was blocked in by a trailer. Finally got THAT moved and the truck was almost on dead empty for gas. Couldn’t even make it to my destination (in town) without filling up. Then return was a nightmare as well. Nowhere to park the truck and no one would answer the phone. I ended up leaving it parked on the side street because it was such a mess in their lot.

Very poor experience returning the truck. There weren't nearly enough employees, or they didn't care, to tend to the piling up of trucks that were being returned. I sat in my truck for a half hour waiting for direction on how to get off the street and return my equipment. One gentleman made it seem like he saw me and realized I needed help, and then he just walked off to never return. I ended up having to go inside on my own and returning my key to an employee that was freely walking around. There was a line of other customers waiting along the entire length of the store. Very poor service and organization all around.

It is in a convenient location, though we needed to be there at a busy move-in day, when the lot was very crowded. Staff were very helpful & patient. The man wrangling trucks that morning have us good advice on mirror adjustment. We really felt for one woman who'd been there at 7:30am and was _still_ working the desk at 6:30pm when we returned.

I have rented from U Haul on many occasions. I was unable to get the vehicle that I filled out an order form. I had to accept one that was a size smaller and this will force us to complete the move using pickup trucks. The truck I got was the most defective piece of equipment I have ever been given in the many years I have been using your service. Weatherstripping was falling from the drivers door getting tangeled with the seat belt. In addition the cargo door could not be secured without a hammer.

I was charged twice for the same u-box that I was moved out of March 27,2023.. first representative had a attitude and was of no help the manager wanted to insult me because I was upset and implied I was not speaking like a human because my tone was slightly elevated anyone would be upset if we just had the issue the previous day the lack of respect showed is baffling

Units we rented were fine. Only complaint is I couldn't get the size unit I really needed so had to pay the same price for 60% less room. We made it work. Thank you Champaign U-Haul.

There was a flood in the facility. It affected many more units than the staff/owners knew; mine being one. My unit received water and ruined a mattress & fabric headboard. Mattress is completely useless and headboard might be used with stains. Staff was alert and helpful at checkout but any promised follow up phone calls have not been received. Others renters may be surprised as well when the open their units

Not enough storage units. Had to settle for 50 Sq ft instead of 180 Sq ft. One way haul worked well but not enough storage for all that we have. The trailer rental went smooth but the storage rental size didn't work out for us. The originating U-Haul did not inform me until the day before we moved 😕

Everytime my card wouldn't work when I paid the extra storage free, when I would go in to purchase boxes or bubble wrap it was always feeling like I was a incontinence when I was spending my money there, and on overpriced boxes at that. I would get questioned as too why I wanted after hour entrance? Just over all they were all around rude and lazy.

The young man that I had phone conversation on Friday/Saturday was EXCELLENT. He was respectful, polite, informative, suggested insurance, told about access code or purchasing lock, whereas another man that I spoke to was ABSOLUTELY , 💯 % HORRIBLE. He didn’t know anything and did not suggest or attempt to explain how services were working due changes because of COVID. I’m actually in another state moving back to Illinois and because of his lack of knowledge, I started to look elsewhere. Thank goodness I had sense to call back and was thankful for the young man that I did have the pleasure of speaking with.
