Great customer service from the woman whose name I did not catch who assisted me several times with the reservation to the young man who quickly attached the trailer securely to the vehicle. Once the trailer was attached he worked with us to verify all lights worked. This team is exceptional. They were working from a makeshift location in the vehicle bays while construction was going on in their office space. Great attitudes and superb helpfulness. Thank you for a efficient and great experience.

Daniel KI have rented their covered trailers several times for one-way moving 200 mi. The trailers are always in great condition and pull well. The drop-off site was close by, open on Sundays, and highly recommended. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I reserve the day before to make sure there is a trailer available, but they have several on hand. It is also very affordable.

MARK MUhaul was picked up with just below a half a tank of gas. It was marked to return with half a tank. We returned with slightly more than half a tank and was still charged almost $35 for gas. This is not the first issue with this location, but this will be the last. I will only use the Stonybrook location - they are honest and respect people.

However, the next day when i went in to leave i questioned the state of one of the trailer wheels and the set up. The drop hitch was not dropped far enough. It caused issues on the road and it detained us a half a day. Sat on a curve for three hours. The tire on the trailer had to be repaired and the other tires were each 15 pounds over inflated per the two truck driver. A bad experience. He also commented on the poor set up. Some kind of credit would be nice. A long drive .

However, the truck was extremely dirty inside and out and smelled like cigarettes completely. I have asthma this was a last minute thing for me so I had to ride with the windows down and it was cold outside.

The outside unit leak too much air and dirt and debris will make its way into the unit. Not a complaint, it’s simple advice for the end user.

Not only that you advertise climate controlled storage and that’s BS. Every time I went into my interior storage in the summer it was 96° inside that is hot enough to ruin your items and melt your candles that’s inappropriate for what you’re charging

I would not say the same thing about the mom and pop store in Fairbury, NE. I think it was a mower sales and mechanic shop, perhaps an auto sales place. The man that helped me there was very rude to me. However, I had a blow out less than 50 miles from loading the truck in the blazing heat on the tow dolly. Very courteous lady that helped me over the phone with corporate U-Haul. The gentleman that came to change the tire was very courteous and got us on the road quickly. While I was waiting for the mechanic to show up to change the tire I decided to call about my storage unit because I had made a reservation for a storage unit. I couldn’t get through to the store so I talked to corporate rep and he helped me out and also gave me the phone number for the storage facility manager, Edward. I ended up needing to call Edward and he politely helped me out getting everything taken care of on the business side of things concerning the storage unit. Edward was was very kind and extremely courteous to me, and I explained to him the goings on ebecause it just finally felt like a person cared. We laughed a little about it and we finally got the stuff out in storage after a 14 hour day. Thanks again Edward.

Patricia N | Overall ExperienceI moved out of the unit in February and they refused to document it and kept me in the system as a current renter. They did this for almost 6 months before I found out. This fraudulent behavior has resulted in my account going negative to the tune of almost $800 and U-Haul will not acknowledge the fact that one or more of their employees has either made a huge mistake or is running some kind of scam where he/she is benefiting from such fraudulent activity. Upon discovering that this fraudulent activity was occurring I then started investigating and found out that the unit was set for public auction on the 25th of May, 2023. By U-Haul’s own terms and policies the contract for the unit is automatically and immediately null and void after public auction occurs. Again I was billed again for another 2 months. When I discovered that someone working as a U-Haul employee was using U-Haul's brand, system, facilities and customers in a scheme for personal financial gains I was bewildered, shocked and exponentially angered to the point of ending the lives of everyone in the facility, but upon further thought and consideration I chose to keep the peace. Even though I am a highly trained and decorated killer, I try to keep those talents and abilities away from the civilian world and only use them on missions and deployments. I would highly recommend that someone at U-Haul figure out a way to shut this employee ring of bandits down and I mean yesterday.

And now I know it's normal with them. They are the only storage place I would spread the word not to use. Further, your policy that storage and truck reservations are NOT REALLY RESERVATIONS.. is absurd. I was told "if anyone walks to the counter before you we will give away your reserved unit". Which is exactly what happened when I drove into town and showed up with my truck and movers being paid by the hour. The facility I reserved had NO space. So I was forced to go 5 miles away and then carry all of my furniture up stairs to my unit. A truly awful experience. Your trucks are great. That is ALL U-Haul does well.

The entire process took an hour and a half, from the time I arrived with my truck to the point where we actually had the unit and could begin unloading. The staff were completely incompetent, I was passed around like a hot potato until I finally got to someone who seemed to know what they were doing. Once we -finally- got the unit and opened the garage door, we saw at least 15 roaches scatter into the walls. When I brought this up originally to the staff they told me that pest control would be out within the week. Fast forward to Thursday, August 18th - I arrive at the unit to pick up some of my things. There are roaches absolutely everywhere - on my things, on the floor. I'm not thrilled, but I take my things and go as I was in a rush. I called on Friday the 19th to report the roaches and to pay my bill for the unit and then discover that not only can they not find me in the system, but they've rented my unit out to someone else! Eventually, after two hour long phone calls on 8/19 and 8/22, they found "my" unit (wrong unit number, my stuff is not there), and it was listed as being rented by my Dad, who lives in Chicago, and had nothing to do with the rental whatsoever. I had to physically walk to the storage building, open my unit, and show them that I was in the unit that I said I was. I told them about the roaches again, and was told -again- that pest control would be out within the week, which I can only assume at this point is a bald-faced lie. I was given a month of "free rent," but I plan to leave a very public review unless the bug situation is resolved permanently. I have spent a total of 3 hours out of my life trying to deal with U-Haul's incompetence, and now will have to spend countless more cleaning and re-packing my things because they are probably infested with roaches. I am disappointed and upset, to say the least. I rented this unit in the first place because I'm disabled and needed a place to put my things after escaping an abusive ex. Moving and a legal separation are already difficult enough, this storage unit fiasco is absolutely the last thing that I need to deal with. Shame on you, U-Haul.

I chose this location due to the fact it had an additional security fence around the perimeter. For over a month the gate to this fence was left wide open due to construction. I was never notified of this or that we wouldn’t have access due to construction/pouring concrete. I tried to reach the store by phone on multiple occasions, which is not possible due to the fact that I’m routed to a call center. After you wait on hold for 45 minutes the call center informs you that they know nothing about these units due to the fact that they are managed on the local level. Which it is impossible to reach them due to the fact all the calls are forwarded to a call center. In an effort to find answers I sent an email to the store with my questions about the security gate and not having access. My email was never responded to (over a 2 month period). I then receive an email and text notification from the store saying “there is an emergency with your storage unit, please contact us right away at 402-932-0440.” The number was incorrect. It’s is not the store number or any number for U-haul. Due to the message, I was concerned about the state of my items, especially since the number I called only ever ringed without answer. I took off work and drove to Omaha to find out what was wrong. Turns out nothing was wrong and my payment was just late. Upon arriving at the store and finding out that the store is apparently using emergency messages to trick people into coming into the store, I went over my issues. The response I received was that I must have not been doing it right because that was impossible for me to not have access. Even though the movers that I payed to move my items (for no reason since I couldn’t access to my unit) also tried multiple times. I closed my account and moved my items to another location. It is a shame to see U-haul having such poor business practices, especially when they used to have such high standards.

The staff let me in, but I did have to drive up to the store and then back down to the storage area before I could get into my unit. But otherwise, the process went smoothly and we got a unit with a really convenient location.
