I reserved a 10x15 unit on line and when I arrived they said it wasn't available. Even though I payed for it on line. They gave me a smaller unit 10x10 outside instead of inside where I wanted it. When I went into look at my other unit. I saw 2 10x15 units with the tags on saying available.

Alysia C | Overall ExperienceWhen I got there I was handed the keys and told to walk to the top of the lot to get the truck which was approx 125 yards away and the guy would get the dolly and furniture blankets. i drove down to the building and he just had tossed everything on the curb and was already back inside by the time I got there. When I went to return the truck he just took the keys and walked outside without saying anything to me, I wasn't even sure if I was supposed to follow him or check out with the girl at the desk. No customer service here at all and if you want a truck that doesn't reek of cigarette smoke then this is not the location for you. It rained overnight and the truck also leaked and got some of my stuff wet. It didn't ruin anything but it still should not leak.

Jason RUsually 2/4 loading bay doors are broken. Lights in my unit keep going off requiring us to walk about 20 feet to walk around the corner to turn the lights on by that sensor. The discard area had a junky wooden giant gun safe there for over 90 days as well as other trashy items. There is no waste receptacles not even a trash can. People were leaving beds there and there is a sign that says dont leave beds. It was finally clean by January / February. The loading bay floor is always dirty and seems swept weekly at most and is always covered in gritty dirt. On Feb 18 the massive parking lot had a sheet of ice one inch thick. It is Ohio and the roads get salted why not the parking lot? Not enough employees and the store / rental desk were unattended at times and I had to go look for an employee. There is a 94dB screeching deafening alarm when units were opened inside the sales area that ring in storage. Same with bay doors, its warning buzzer is just too loud making you cover your ears. I like the large LED monitors watching and loghing people in and out. Climate control was good, it kept my belonhings between 66 degrees and 82 degrees, I left a monitor in the unit. APD were frequently outside by the bays, I think talking to each other as cars were side by side ftont to back but it us good to see police out there as a deterrent to crime. I never fely "unsafe" out there. Ashley and the other people working there were nice and that was your saving grace. I asked to have my final papereork to be emailed, I did not get that email. Price was reasonable for the 15 x 15 size storage.
Arthur C | Overall ExperienceI would recommend larger flat carts to transport items. There usually are only three available that are small. The point of the place is to move items in and out. If you want keep the small ones maybe bump that up to five. Three flat ones and two of the other kind. Last storage place I rented the carts were large which meant less trips. In turn gets you in and out of there quicker for people who need the space. Other than that the place is great.

I tried to call the store and someone picks up and says thank u for calling uhaul, please hold. Stayed on hold for 43 mins before i hung up.

Charles GI would never recommend the location to any friends. U-Hau and store have different rules and that doesn’t make any sense. Also store employee was were NOT FRIENDLY! Mobile pickup system was not worked at all!
Bilge EWhen we got there to pick up the truck there were several out front waiting for customers, but ours was as far away as possible and knee deep in snow. When we started it up and cleaned off snow, there was a low tire sensor light on. We were told it was just a bad sensor. Otherwise, the truck ran fine.

GERARDO TI was please with the service until I received my receipt and found out not only was i misquoted on the price of gas I would be paying if I returned the equipment without putting gas in it but I was also double charged for using the dolly.

ALAN V | Overall ExperienceThe counter staff was distracted by a giggling friend in the side room was not clear with her instructions seemed to apathetic and annoyed that I was there to ask to rent a vehicle. It should be noted on your webpage when someone reserves online that if you choose to do a van, you need to bring a major credit card. No one prepared the truck for me. Knorr brought it up. I had to walk across the entire parking lot take the sign out of the windshield to start my trip. Upon returning, no one came to take the vehicle after five minutes when I got out a gentleman without ever making eye contact said I’ll take those keys and he kept staring into His Machine. Seemed annoyed that the door was locked. Unlock the door check the mileage came out and told me I went over the average and it was what it was gonna cost me and that was it asked if I had any questions I said no never looked at me. Poor Customer Service. It’s sad actually because just down the road the other Mahone Avenue store is much more helpful. Much more customer oriented and they have excellent customer service.

Acceleration is very slow ac didn’t work and steering was a bit loose. I was gonna mention this upon return but the guy who took my keys seemed like he was still hung over and really didn’t care.
ERIC PWhether conversing on the phone or in person, the folks in Austintown were very polite and helpful. I had to extend my rental for one day which was done over the phone and I dropped off the trailer after hours. I called the next day and wrapped up the rental over the phone. Once again the gal was polite, efficient, and helpful. PS: The showroom was very clean and organized.

milagros s | Overall ExperienceLMy experience with this Uhaul shop was like something out of a clickbait horror story article on social media. On short notice, I needed to move and store my stuff in December '23. I drive OTR and need to park my car as part of the storage. Shopping around, I found this Uhaul facility, which looked like it had an enormous parking lot due to its previous use as a Kmart. When I called U-Haul about renting a unit, I was abundantly, EMPHATICALLY clear about the need to park my car as well. I asked three different ways to make sure there was no confusion, and was told that would be fine. I also made sure they understood that my truck would be there for a couple of days while I was moving, since they did not have an appropriate towing trailer, and I would have to make an additional trip to go get my car, my truck would be there while I was bussing back to retrieve my car. Moving day came. When I arrived to pick up the moving truck, I again confirmed that parking my car would be no problem, and specifically asked about video surveillance so I would not have to worry about my car being vandalized. I parked my truck where the staff directed me to, got in the moving truck, and went to go get my stuff. I pushed myself physically and got things moved a day ahead of schedule, finishing late at night. I still needed to go get my car, and spent the night in the truck on the lot. Early the next morning, management woke me up by beating on my door and reprimanded me about having the truck there. I explained that it was only temporary as per the original agreement and I would move it after I got back with my car. It took 2 days nonstop by bus to get my car thanks to Greyhound's lovely route schedules. It should have been a red flag that they tried to throw me out in the middle of the move-in process. Couple months went by, everything seemed fine. Then, coming home after a trip on Tuesday, March 5 and found a parking ticket on my car, but it was not filled out. So I took the ticket to the police station to ask about it. I was told they would not have put that on the car unless someone had called it in, and that was just a warning that gave me 72 hours to move (Friday.) So I thought maybe one of the other businesses on the lot called it in, and I should park closer to the Uhaul entrance to avoid confusion. When I got back to the U-Haul to ask them if they knew anything about it, I was told I needed to talk to Ashley, who was out of the office that day. So I came back to talk to Ashley the next day. She confirmed that she had called it in and if I didn't move my car it would be towed. She said it was an insurance matter, but Ohio requires car registrants to carry insurance, and Uhaul insists that storage tenants record their car info in the lease, so that's a lie. I explained that I thought I was allowed to park there, and asked if she could work with me and give me some time to find another location. Her answer was a no, phrased as a yes. She said she would give me until Friday. The police had already told me that Friday was the earliest she could have it towed. So her idea of "working with" someone means she won't have your car illegally towed, commonly known as grand theft auto. How considerate. This may have been the result of miscommunication between staff and management. No matter. Speaking as a businessman myself, this was a complete botch by Ashley. If I had a customer who was interested in a long-term arrangement with one of my more expensive products and paid automatically, I would happily make a concession of otherwise unused parking space. So I found storage with your competitor, Life Storage/Extra Space. They have leased parking available. It costs more, but at least I won't have to worry about my car being towed on a whim. The general staff at this Uhaul facility was good to work with and the facility itself is very nice, but Ashley's management methods and style are best described as "crazy ex-girlfriend."

When we were in the storage area we had to keep walking down the hallway and waving our arms to get the lights to turn back on so that we could see what we were doing.

Also, maybe extend the time the light stays on as when in the unit, I needed to go out repeatedly to walk the hallway to get the sensor to turn the light back on. Other than that, I found the staff and facility both wonderful. Will gladly recommend to others.

Ashley did not honor this at her location even though the website allowed me to choose this location with the promotion. It cornered me into having to borrow money from a family member as my funding availability was too low to afford it myself. If a certain location is not honoring certain promotions the website should reflect that. Was the worst experience I’ve ever had with storage units. She thought she was doing me a favor my giving me the rental for U-Haul an extra day but I had already spoken to customer service about that because the system went down and I wasn’t able to access my truck return nor my storage unit online. It was a system wide outage. Had I not needed to be at this location due to the size of storage I needed I’d have taken a storage unit at a different location.

When I returned the truck I mentioned that point to the receptionist, she exclaimed "air conditioning is a luxury and nothing you would have serviced." Also she charged me $33 for gas which I felt was excessive, I was not that much below the initial little over a half a tank that was in the truck when I picked it up!

Only reason not rated excellent was upon arrival to the storage facility to pick up a truck we reserved we were told we had to go to another facility, I never received a text message that the facility for pick up was changed, Luckily the pick up facility was only 3 miles away. There was possibly a phone call but with all the spam calls received I don't answer calls that are not identified and no voice mail message was left. The truck was very clean and we were offered a discount to return it to another facility a few miles from our new home.

Walk with the girl to check every truck to get a second one. Could not find the second one. Tried to return the first one because it was no help with out the second one. Girl would not refund the money on the first one but did the second. That is crazy! I needed two not one. So I paid for something I never used because you didn't have two.
Joan A | Overall ExperienceThe made my experience much better. When I picked up my u-haul they gave me the wrong truck and the truck they gave me had a homeless man sitting in it smoking. I had to sterilize the truck and it smelled really bad. There were ashes on the floor.

Also some moving devices (rectangles with wheels) for longer big items would be helpful. Large items are to heavy to carry through the building that don't fit on your small carts.

The units I rent are on the temperature controlled side and it's warm in the winter and cool in the summer. I can sit in my unit and go through my items for hours without freezing/sweating to death...brilliant! The temperature control also keeps my fragile electronics from breaking. Win win. Did I mention they also have furniture dollies of varying sizes to help carry your things in the heated parking garage at no charge? Love it! Everyone I've had the pleasure of dealing with has been really kind and helpful.
