Personal was above and beyond helpful, generous and friendly.
DOUGLAS BI reserved at a location near my house. When they called to confirm I was told there was not one available at that location, and it was switched to a location further from my house, but I was told it would be the same cost. However, when I turned it in I was charged for extra mileage.

I asked if he was going to inspect it first but said we will take care of everything inside. I feel like it should have been inspected and miles and fuel level verified in my presence. I seriously doubt that they realized there is a dolly in the back. All that being said he was very nice and did not charge me for anything extra.

And then there are all kind of fees that are ridiculous. Will be my last time ever considering U-Haul for anything.
DUSTIN SI am not happy with the customer service nor pertinent information that was not give to me when renting! No one told me I would have to gas the vehicle up so I get a $30 charge for gas plus the expense of the gas! The place smelt of weed when I came in to drop the van off! I am NOT happy!

SAM T1. When the online reservation states "due upon pick-up" that should be the total amount to be paid including taxes and fees, no surprises. 2. The customer should not have to do an online reservation, wait for an attendant to do more computer work during the pick up phase. 3. The customer should not have to upload pictures of your equipment, odometer readings and fuel levels. I realize u haul is a discount rental company, but like Walmart you've turned it into a self serve company while still charging a premium.

MICHAEL MI was not acknowledged in any way for five minutes, as receptionist did something on her phone. I was expected to do all the work on my phone. Your app was not working and I was not offered any assistance. It took so long that the attendant waited on the person behind me and still never offered assistance. The person behind me apologized numerous times for going in front of me. Your attendant was not bothered by the jump in line.
CYNTHIA MI was honestly scared since this was my first time being the one to drive the uhaul and I had a long narrow driveway to maneuver at the new place I was moving to. The had the mirrors perfectly aligned which made backing up and turning around a breeze. Had great experience from booking til dropping it back off.
JACQUELINE STerrible customer service. Male employee was not helpful when picking up unit. I wanted to rent regular truck but only a van was available. As I was about to leave in van a truck was returned. I went back in ofc to inquire about renting the truck. The male employee looked at the computer and said "there is a repair ticket on it to go in the shop". It was obvious he was lying and didn't want to re-do my reservation. Upon returning the van, I walked in office and waited on service. I looked out in parking lot and female employee was standing out there with her hand out, like Bring me the keys. Walked out and gave her the keys and she never said One Word. I've never dealt with an employee that completing ignored you. Would not go back to this location in the future.

JULIE HI called yesterday for them to hold a garage remote I had left behind. Tried calling at 7:10pm but location was closed. Spoke to customer service and the gentleman there had been really nice and helpful. Told me the remote would be there in the morning the next day. Called them all morning during work hours and nobody was answering. When my partner went into the store the female attendent told us she decided to throw away the remote because nobody had picked it up. She then proceeded to lock herself in the back of the store so she wouldn’t have to answer questions. Tried calling the store to speak to a supervisor and she refused to give her name or her supervisors. Told us she didn’t have to speak with us and kept hanging up the phone. Eventually she just unhooked it so no calls could come in. I have never in my life been treated so poorly by a company representative. I will be taking legal action and will never ever use U-Haul again.
SALVADOR GThe pick up location messed up my paperwork. Fortunately, Trish, who we dropped the trailer off with was able to sort it out. She was extremely professional and courteous. She had very good customer service.

JOHN LThese employees NOR MANAGER follow rules of uhauls having at least 1/4 tank of gas. I was charged wrongfully and management never reached back out to me! I will NEVER use this location or probably just U-Haul period again. U-Haul has gone down drastically and I refuse to support a company who fraudulently charge you and their smallest box truck don’t even have ramps. I was not given that extremely important detail when I rented. It was pointless to have the truck because there was absolutely no way I could get my washer and dryer on the ramp less truck!!! I HATE U-Haul and I will NEVER EVER use them again! Penske and budget are better and they have much better customer service.

DAROLD BThe lady was very helpful, when I told her that I want to rent a pick-up truck but no driving experience and I want to try driving to see how I feel. She immediately brought a pick-up truck for me to drive and she sat on the right front seat to guide me. Excellent service. Later when I came to rent the truck, I saw a van and I think it would be easier for me to drive. The staff agreed that I can rent a van. Both the lady and the man are very nice to cater to the customer’s request. No much comments for improvement. Thanks

RICHARD TInclude some free mileage in the price...at least 20 miles free with daily rental. The young man who checked me in and checked me out was very helpful. (The link to upload my Driver's License at check-in kept expiring (within seconds). So, he took care of it. And we accidentally left a "needed" piece of hardware on the truck, he checked the truck at check-in, showed us the part, and inquired if it was ours. That saved us some misery for looking for it and having to replace it. We were pleased about that. Thank you.
LAFRANCINE EVehicle was clean but had a strong marijuana smell. Person checking us out stated vehicles aren’t available until next day but online reservations showed 2 vehicles available. Booked online and it was an easy process to then get the vehicle immediately. Pickup and drop off were very fast and easy once we booked online.
JENNIFER EThe Staff members lied! THE WORST EXPERIENCE!!!The charged me for safe move insurance that I declined. After I caught the charge the staff would not remove the charge unless I decided to cancel my reservation. I was in a tight pinch and needed the vehicle… I called customer service they confirmed that safe move insurance was not required to rent from u haul… After I returned the vehicle… I received a call from the store manager and was told that they would not remove the charges… and said “Fuck You with your bid head ass and said that I was banned for making a complaint call to customer service … I immediately called customer service again to report the conversation after whichthey did remove charge and gave me a $50 gift certificate on my next rental… I have not gotten an apology from at this point…
GREGORY MYou could have included taxes along with the rental amount on the app/website. When it's not included, it is an added expense that I didn't need since I was moving to another town. Now, because I thought the tax was included, I am running low on money and praying I can make it the rest of the week. Not exactly a great way to get your life in order, huh?

charles rI had Reservation for a 645 pm pick on 12-7. I got there ay 640 pm and was advised they canceled my uhaul at 615. The lady stated Uhaul has a 6 pm cutoff for rentals. They stated they call at 615 but did not leave a message. This was.the worst customer.service I have ever recieved when renting a truck.

She recommended a 10”15. I agreed to the terms and signed the contract. She took me to the location and I began to unload. I told her there was a lock on the door. Confused, she checked the system again and it showed available. After speaking with the manager he indicated it was not. He told her to instruct me to unload in a 10”10 that was available and when a larger one was available I could move and he may help. I had driven all the way from Maryland and not in the mood for stupidity. She located a 10”10 near a second smaller unit. Because we dropped the trailer, my nephew had to pull it to the second location. It had a baby grand piano in it. Say no more. I approached the manager and asked is there any consideration for my inconvenience and could we negotiate the price for the two. He stated, you originally booked 10”10 and that’s what you got. We tried to “help” you and get you into a larger, but our mistake, it ain’t available. We are not about to give you a free storage unit.” I told him I never expected or asked for free but a free apology would be nice and a discount would be better. Needless to say, I would rather pack all items up and move than to deal with this level of customer service. Again, Tish was amazing. And when you make her manager, I will share a better recommendation.

The unit came with a free lock as stated online I was denied the lock at first after asking to speak with manager i over heard him say he was busy. After 15 mins they gave me the lock. After allowing them to. Check in my truck I received an email of my receipt saying I was charged for fuel so I went back the truck was still at the location had them double check the fuel and Jasmine confirms that I was correct and would let her manager know about the mistake. I still haven’t heard from the manager nor have I been returned my 17$

He said he couldn’t provide mile info about our Truck because we didn’t book it through him and he couldn’t help us with a Storage location at our destination because… some system mom bought jumbo reason. He definitely had a different demeanor from when we checked in a storage unit. UHAUL’s first month free with a Truck Rental has really helped us and we are pleased overall with the service.

We had to go back to the facility and once again get the staff to close the account. Uhaul has a very poor records system and the communication system is far below par.

The units behind the office entry and exit are not easy to load or unload when others are entering or exiting. Truck rental was the worst experience at the location on Summer Ave Memphis we've - We were ask for a third person phone number NOT associated with the truck rental-that person unknown to us had a balance due..Your corporate office approved the rental.The Summers location did not. We went to Penske with our money, excellent service. Penske only needed my husband and I info and credit card not our random friends phone number. Absolutely the worst service on Summer Ave,Memphis

tyrone d | First ImpressionsI would like to state the truth and the whole truth. Upon arriving, my wife met Dantonio, the manager of the facility, who was EXTREMELY HELPFUL! His service was quite pleasant and beyond exceptional. He went above and beyond to take care of my wife's concern's regarding hours which would accommodate our move, etc. -Just overall a great guy. Therefore, Dantonio should be exempt from this rating. The grounds were clean but the facility itself is really very old and honestly, out of 43 times of having to move, relocate, store items due to being a commander in the military, we have never seen an older facility. The positive side is, however, we have never visited a storage facility that had a unit so large. Maybe the unit size is normal but it surely works well for our needs. Now, I will proceed in telling you what our issues have been. Upon returning the truck, my wife received a telephone call from a young lady at the facility who, upon my wife answering, jumped down her throat (verbally), and alleged that we had smoked in the rental truck. My wife tried and tried to explain to the employee that she doesn't smoke, nor do I. Even more, my wive's father, who drove the truck, has medical conditions that would never allow smoke. We aren't sure if the cigarette butts were from the previous driver and city, but we are certain that neither of the three of us left cigarette butts in the vehicle. We cleaned the truck and refueled the truck. We were also under the mileage allowed to us, by approximately 45 miles. The employee informed my wife that she had been attempting to run our card (before speaking with us and ever allowing us an opportunity to hear her concerns or express our rebuttal). Luckily for us, Bank of America was quick to identify the duplicate attempts and block all charges. The employee stated that we had gone over our miles, but upon calling customer service, the agent clearly stated on U-Hauls recorded line that we were under our miles allowed, as I had informed the employee at the location. The employee also falsified information on our account that we had not refueled the truck. We hold fuels cards with two different well known gas stations and their both active with available credit. We fueled the truck up and returned the vehicle. Here's the thing: While the truck was being returned, the "same employee" never mentioned we were below the fuel. She walked around the truck with our person. She never found cigarette butts while in our presence, so honestly, I feel as if we are being manipulated. This isn't how you treat your customers, especially ones who have always used your services and who have..., might I add, never had problems with any other U-Hual location in the past. It surely isn't how you treat an active duty military family who has been pulled here and there, around the world, to fight for the good people of this country. My wife called customer service but still, we are receiving text messages that we have an outstanding balance at the location. We turned the truck in early and after we heard from the location, we called both the location and customer service and requested to go back to the location and clean these alleged butts. However, we never received a call back. A few days later, we received notification, via email, that we now have an outstanding balance at the location. This incident might end decades of us renting with U-Haul. We will consider Budget during our next move. Employees sometimes fail to realize the financial risk in which they sometimes subject their company or brand to. Thank you for your time.
