I experienced a tire blowout on an express roadway with a 5 X 9 trailer. Not a good feeling to say the least. U-Haul should do a better job conducting a safety check, particularly on their tires. This could have caused injury & property damage. After U-Haul figured out which company was going to provide roadside assistance (which took about 40 minutes ). The wait was only 30 minutes (I was in Queens NY) & the gentleman who provided the service was quick and efficient.

LINDA WI rented a 15’ truck , the desk agent assured the ttruck was checked , I took his work and drove off to my location … we opened the back door It did not feel right it took extra force , it took 3 hours to load and when we tried to close the door it won’t close , it was Jamed ,,we called 10 times at the facility no one pick up the phone , had no choice we started unloading again After wasting 5 hours and paying the hired workers I took the truck back and explained the issue , I nasty women came said I’m the manager , she was rude and disrespectful and after explaining the issue , she said disrespectfully I will charge you for messing up with my door . I have just lost $600 and the day and now this what I have to deal with ? A faulty equipment and I am paying to fix it ? I call the police to complain and they said file a case against them in court , that’s the only choice I have … now I am suing haul for multi charges .

MARIA IMy main complaint is that the website is misleading regarding the drive-up storage. The ramp is difficult to backup on and you can only drive to the entrance. That should be made clear on the website. I was in a rush back in 2019 and would never have taken the rooftop had I known the details prior to scheduling the room. Finally, there was only one cart when I was moving out which I had to wait for to get the job done. The problems with the rooftop storage should be fixed; don’t call storage drive up when you can only drive to the storage entrance. Call it rooftop storage, plain and simple.

When I called customer service they and the main call center and Cheryl and another rep that that is not true. I did not need a smart phone to rent a vehicle. It was a huge inconvenience. Second, I misinterpreted the fuel amount with the uhaul app when I had to download the app and therefore overpaid in the amount of fuel: I used 3 gallons but had to buy 12 gallons. Ended up having to pay $40 additional. Lastly there was no available to explain the return of the truck. I had to figure it out.

When we arrived at 8:30am, I tried to finish my reservation through the app but it said I had to call customer service because the reservation was not put in the system. I proceeded to call but Darnell asked if he could help. I wanted to use the app because I was getting the van before hours. Darnell went inside and was able to finish the reservation for me. Then when i returned i couldn't get to my storage unit unless you back in on a curvy platform. When we checked in we had to go back in the office three times- first they didn’t explain the two door code system, then they gave us a code that didn’t work, then they forgot to take the lock off the unit. It took almost an hour to get access to the unit with waiting for him to help other customers for every question. Access to the larger loading doors closing at 7pm was way too early. The man closing up at 7 told us that the back entrance would be open until 11. We came back with a truck full of things at 10:20 and the door he told us would be open was actually closed. We had to turn around with the full truck and unload it again at home. The hours & miscommunication cost us a ton of time, we had to return the truck late due to this error, and we couldn’t finish moving out on our moving day. Now we have to finish the rest without a truck. It was a long awful costly day and a lot of that was due to the poor quality of your company.

We waited for over 40 minutes up the ridiculously engineered ramp which makes it impossible to drive your car up let alone a uhaul for the gate to be opened. Despite my gate button being on with a red light when the button was pushed the woman told me it was my fault because i “obviously didn’t change the battery and it died” which was not the case, and who speaks to a customer like that? When i told Her that this was getting to be ridiculous she hung up the phone on me. We did not wait for the uhaul truck as we did not want to give your location any more business due to the behavior of your staff . The behavior of your staff is deplorable, classless and inappropriate. I am Disgusted by the way customers were treated for simply trying to use your business. I am Lodging a formal complaint with corporate due to this situation.

My experience with them had many more touch points than would normally be the case, and with every interaction, my opinion of them continued to rise. I moved from Mississippi to NYC, and as they offered storage (which I needed for only a little less than a month) I randomly picked them as the Uhaul truck drop off location. I am so lucky I did. After a miserable cross country drive, I pulled into their location to unload and drop off the truck, just as a torrential rain storm hit. Rebecca, who I believe is the assistant manager checked me in quickly, and even moved my storage locker to one indoors so I wouldn’t have to be stuck in the rain unloading, making what would have been a torturous experience tolerable. Fast forward 3 weeks…. My NYC apartment fell through requiring me to push back my move in (and move out of storage) by a few days, which meant another month of storage rent as my move in day was one day past my storage rent due date. Jasmine, who is the general manager and the person I spoke to on the phone (I was in NH) offered to wave the monthly charge which was so above and beyond gracious. And she didn’t even make me have to fight for it which is what I expected to have to do. A week later I show up at the site first thing in the morning to collect another truck and move out of storage and the opportunity was ripe for catastrophe. This time, Cori (not sure what Cori’s position is) greeted me under what was certainly a super stressful situation. There were tons of trucks from the night before blocking pretty much everything (including my would be truck) but Cori efficiently and quickly played what looked like a game of Tetris with the blocking ones, got my truck out and made a space for me to back up to my storage. What a superstar! Catastrophe averted! I very rarely write reviews but this whole experience with this location and their staff was so exemplary that I had to as to not give them credit for their hard work would have been a travesty. Thank you for all you do and the clear dedication you have to your job and your customers. It is something rarely seen.

MARJOBERTHT S | First ImpressionsFirstly, I looked online and chose this location because of its “drive-up units”. Then once I’m checked in, and ready to store my items, I come to find out that I can only drive my car until the gate, then I must unload onto a dolly, and walk my things to the storage unit. While the storage unit itself was clean, it was not what I expected. Secondly, the ramp (which is the only way to get your things up to the storage) is ridiculously skinny and is nearly impossible to make a u-turn to get back down the ramp. Thirdly, I was moving during December, the ramp and the walk-way around the storage facility was all snowy and icy.

BRIAN M | First ImpressionsThe day of my move, the corridor light was broken and the movers had to work in darkness to move me out of 2 units. Kaitlynne was extremely helpful and attempted to fix the light but the problem appeared to be more extensive than just changing a few light bulbs. Kaitlynne informed me of the move out process, was always available, and made the process much less stressful. My stored items were free of bugs, moisture, all intact, and the customer service at this location has always been excellent.
Jeanne J | Overall ExperienceAccess to storage units on the roof is very unsafe, you have to back your vehicle up a steep trail to get to the unit. Good luck if your driving a truck. Uhaul definitely needs to change this

Rochelle W | First ImpressionsI got no help from the service. My Service person did not gave a tour of storage only stated it’s on the other side of the building. Pick up your vehicle in row D and inspect it for damages before you leave. The entire right side top portion of truck broken and open from the front to the back ;with the upper signal light broken. I went back to the service person who was outside at the return vehicle station. I informed her that the truck was damaged and I need another truck. She replied, “ I need to go home.” “I closed out the register.” It’s 7:20 pm You closed” and I didn’t have a truck to move .”we know the truck was damage ;you will not be charged for the damages.” She refused to go to the office to give me another truck. why would you give me a damaged truck? I gave her the truck key and ask her to cancelled out the truck. I didn’t pay to rent a broken truck. I lost money because of your company poor service of not proving me with a working truck. I had to pay the moving people who’s was to load and unload the truck. I had the worst experience with your company’s service personals. They both had attitudes and was not helpful in proving information or service. I used your company before and I have never had this poor service experience. The service person stated ,”she will cancelled out the truck rental and insurance for 8/18/20. “I will return the money to your card and send you a text message.” I didn’t get a text for the cancellation/ truck insurance from Uhall as she stated on 8/18/20. 7:27 pm.Thanks for your resolution of this poor service provided by your service staff on the afternoon of 8/18/20.
MARCIA B | Overall ExperienceThe actual unit itself is good. The way to access the unit is horrible. Any unit that is on the roof, must be accessed by BACKING your vehicle UP a curved road. This is very dangerous. Also if one vehicle is backed up the road, you must wait until they are done, and then you can access your unit with your vehicle. UHAUL must reconstruct this area. And if the gate sensor doesn't have anything in its view, the gate will close, and even if it hits an object it doesn't stop, it continues to close. DANGEROUS.....SOMEONE COULD BE SERIOUSLY HURT

Only negative would be the lighting in the storage area.... the timer should be adjusted because they keep going off while trying to move things. It made things hard ...we were often left in the dark and we needed to keep going out of the unit every 3-4 minutes to wave and see if the lights turned back on.
