Although the gentleman that helped me pick up the vehicle was extremely helpful and kind, the person who claimed to be the manager when returning the vehicle was completely horrible. He approached me without any greeting and was just shaking his head when looking at the van. Then he began to expect it and tells me that it's going to be an additional $30. No explanation, so I asked him for what? And he told me that the van was dirty inside and there is a cleaning fee. This is absurd because I spent 2 hours vacuuming, brushing and washing the van due to some debris from concrete that I was hauling. I had to leave, re-clean the van and when I returned an hour later, he said I didn't do anything and that he was still charging me. Please improve your managerial staff and teach them some manors! Also, this cleaning fee needs to go. It is impossible to return a van in spotless condition, it's a cargo van! I demand a refund and will seek further action.

You can start by REPLACING THE OLD, OUTDATED, POORLY MAINTAINED TRUCKS......OMG, THE TRANSMISSION IS GOING, THE NOISE WAS UNFATHOMABLE, THE DRIVE WAS UNBEARABLE, THE WINDOWS MAKE NOISE, THE TRUCK DRIVES ALL OVER THE ROAD, AND THEN YOU HAVE THE NERVE TO CHARGE ME ADDITIONAL PRICES AFTER I RETURNED THE TRUCK FOR AN AGREED UPON RENTAL. OMG, SHAME ON U-HAUL

Calling the centralized phone reservation system is a total waste of time. For a company that deals in logistics, the people UHaul employs to answer the phones have no idea what's going on. The specific locations (Bellerose & Warwick) were great, but I give the online/phone UHaul experience a zero. We "reserved" a pick-up location one mile from our starting point, but then were give a location 15 miles from there. Then, that location stopped renting UHaul trucks! UHaul didn't even know that this particular location stopped doing business with them when we called to find another location. I think we spent about three hours on the phone trying to sort all of this out. UHaul breached the "reservation guarantee," but we're still trying to get $50 that they "promise" when this sort of thing happens. Again, don't bother calling the central reservation number, just call the location directly.

The passenger side mirror flew off while driving on the New Jersey Turnpike!! Then I went to 3 different U-Hauls to try to get a new truck. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!!! SUPER DANGEROUS!!

Understaffed. Only 2 workers for several customers. Waited a long time at check-in. Check was even worse. Website was a disaster to navigate.

The representative who assisted me was not friendly and didnt show much customer service. The truck i received had a broken mirror on the passenger side and the fuel and mileage reported on the paper did not match what was shown on the speedometer.

I tried on two separate accounts to rent in one week and was misinformed both times.. first I tried to rent a truck and was scheduled the pick up in Hempstead and was called back and told I had to go to a completely different location that wasn't anywhere near me .. I already had someone taking time out of there day to drive me to get truck it was supposed to be a one way.. a few min from time of pickup I had a voice mail saying that that wasn't even a option that the trucks don't go one way... a few days later I rented a trailer, I called Hempstead location both times this time I asked if they had trailer at there location to be picked up the next day the woman told me yes confirmed with me and then I get a call or email saying I have to drive to another location that was an hour away in the opposite direction from me to pick up the trailer and then drive an hour back to load the trailer before my three hour trip back in the opposite direction... if I could give negative stars I would..I call the exact location that I want to pick up my trailer just so I wouldn't have any misunderstandings and they still seem to mess up my orders

Had a question concerning my bill. Received a phone call from a woman supervisor at 6:42pm not sure of her name. She was very rude and continuously spoke over me cutting me off the entire time. She became irate when I said “I’m the paying customer allow me to speak “ She said Good bye I’m hanging up now. Sarcastically!!!
