The young lady who was working the desk was amazing she had 4 of us all trying to pick up different things all at the same time and one drop off. She bounced back and forth getting us all taken care of at the same time. The customer service she displayed is so rear in today's world. Uhaul should promote her to a trainer. She is a true asset to your company. Well done

The rental was very smooth and exactly the equipment I needed. Here are some tiny issues that could be fixed. There is a sign at the drop-off at this location that tells customers to wait in the drop-off equipment for assistance during business hours. Standard protocol is to go in the office, so waiting with the vehicle is not useful. The app does not appear to negotiate access to the camera correctly for scanning the back of the license, at least in the case of iPhones.

Boone being a mountain town is much different than Center Two. in PA. Center Tep. Location is in a wide open shopping center with much space to maneuver; the Boone location is off a two lane road with an uphill entrance. Not many other locations to choose from in Boone, but since we are re-locating to Boone it was better than, say, having to return the truck, say, to Charlotte or Greensboro.After hours, so no attendant on duty. Called 24/7 number to report the truck return; Joshua was very thorough.

A couple of ways you could improve your customers' experience with your location is to make sure your employees are properly trained so that misinformation would not be passed onto the customer. Another way to improve is to find friendlier people to work for you. Also, a check engine light that is lit up is a sign of not properly maintaining your equipment.

One thing and most important is informing about the mileage. I was told to have the truck back by the next morning only. I paid $80 plus and had the truck back by 9AM next morning, by noon I noticed an additional charge of $320.00 due to traveling 248 miles. Man! It sure would've been nice to have been charged beforehand, $400.00 plus dollars for 248 miles and 18 hours:)

Always had U-Haul truck blocking my unit and I could not access it . Unit leaked water and ruined my things . Back gate left open and unsecured a lot of the time . One older woman that works in office is useless . Price went up a $100 a month in 24 month span with no added benefits

Our Unit G008 evidently had fire ants in it. My daughter had fire ants all in her tubs, one bit her in the bed when she set it up. The staff was extremely accommodating. Michelle went above and beyond assisting me. I had to keep changing our arrival time due to road and weather conditions on the way up.

I did experience some trouble with my access card and also my unit had a LOT of sand it, sand that was not mine and I had no idea where it came from. But other than those two things, the unit and staff was great and came in handy when I needed to store my items.

Well for the price I assumed I’d get something bigger? And it was dirty, filled with leaves, a rat trap. And covered in webs. Kinda felt like a bad joke. And the “free lock” was as covered in heavy dust. The latch is rusty and very hard to open and close. And that rope to open and close the door felt like a crusty sock. I also said I was going to move in the 8th and I arrived and had to call the office to move their parked trucks out of the way so I could access the unit. And if it wasn’t for the knife I was carrying I wouldn’t have been able to remove the latch. Definitely don’t recommend unless you wanna feel scammed.

I paid for an initial 24 hr rental, then I had to extend it a day and was charged another 2 times, even though I only had it an extra 8 hours. Also the truck was very dirty when I picked it up.

Service was always excellent! You have a great staff! Getting in and out with all the other trucks in the same space was challenging and frustrating at times. There needs to be a logistical overhaul for where to park the trucks when they're not in use so they are not be in the way of customers trying to park and and get into their units. Overall, the staff made it an excellent experience and they were great with their communication and quick to respond.

The facility has trucks blocking units because it lacks the space to house them. The staff is rude when you ask them to move the vehicles to get access to your units. Staff member even lied on me and my friend saying we harassed her when asking to have trucks moved. This facility needs new management and needs to resolve there issues with blocking people unitswith trucks. Burnt out units that haven't been fixed. Tow dolly sitting around without wheels in between the isles. Just a awful place and thats why I closed down my unit.

Staff was always friendly but there were truck rentals consistently parked in front of my unit and I could never get in to my unit or around the complex. And every time I tried to call to get some help, nobody answered.

My only recommendation is the email with access code needs a note stating, “tear off green tag, lock will be inside unit”. We didn’t know this and had to go in. Michelle was super friendly and helpful and got us upgraded to a larger unit.

Michelle! The woman who helped us yesterday was very professional, helpful and polite. It literally only took Michelle no longer than fifteen minutes for us to complete our two rental units. We also added U-Haul's insurance for both units because of Michelle mentioning it us. We had no clue until yesterday about the insurance your company provides when renting one of your unit. I've rented y U-Haul's units for years and your company's insurance has never been mentioned to us before until yesterday. We do have home owners insurance but for the quote Michelle gave us for both units to be insured by U-Haul we couldn't resist. Michelle is definitely a keeper. Thanks, Karl Smith Boone, N.C.

I lost about $15,000 of belongings due to a warehouse fire caused by a person who was living in one of the units. Not secure. No way. Not happy. No way. Will never use this facility again. Will not recommend it to others. Compensate me for my loss due to your negligence and I might be happier.

The storage unit was overrun with mice. Presumably neighboring tenants were storing food in their units. I had to routinely stock a lot of poison bait in mine to prevent damage to my stuff.

Mike and Zach, employees at U-Haul in Boone were professional and helpful but unfortunately, a new employee Jennifer did not answer the phone, nor return messages nor try to help us in any way. We spent about $1000K on 3 moving trucks over a 3 week period. 2 of the rentals entitled us to 2 months of free storage. I was told that I could use those consecutively but when I tried to call and verify at the end of the first month, I could never get through to Jennifer who needed to make the decision. Her ineptitude caused me to go over the first free month and since they did not honor their word and let me have the 2nd free month, I had to pay a whole month's rent for storage of a simple antique desk. I was entitled to 2 free months. The greed and unfriendliness makes me want to never recommend UHaul in Boone on hwy 105.

The facility was great. The online billing was not so good. I could not pay my bill until the day it was due. Until then, it showed a Zero balance due. With the first month free, it was misleading that my bill on month 2 was zero dollars as well. I received a late notice and paid the $15 late fee. If I had been notified that it was due, even the day of, I would have paid on time. Please considering allowing people to prepay and not have to wait until the day off to pay. I am aware there is an automatic payment option, but my rental was so short I did not want to use this feature. Thank you.

Our confirmed reservation for a 20' truck was 'bumped' therefore we had no truck for moving. This was college move out/in weekend. The staff showed no concern at all and offered no solutions. We decided to rent a storage unit for 24 hours to be able to store and protect the large amount of home items we needed to move. The staff made no efforts to help or support us. Actually acting quite aloof about the whole issue. Not their problem, they didn't care. We rented a 10x10. As we were moving in to the unit, one staff member repeatedly was very aggressively driving past us, on a corner, and loudly telling us we had to move out of the way. It was unnecessary to be so aggressive. We were trying to stay out of the way with very little room to park our vehicles to unload/load. Other clients managed to get around us fine. I would never use this site again, nor Uhaul and I will be SURE to inform my friends/family of this nightmare situation. The biggest issue I have is the absolute lack of care or concern by the staff that Uhaul had caused this problem for us. We had our reservation and Uhaul didn't follow through with the vehicle.

It was frustrating doing frequent trips to the unit with our cars and seeing several trucks etc lined up in the facility. moving took a lot longer than it should have done , a van or tow would have meant we could have done it in one go.

The place seemed in disrepair (the gate to the facility was actually broken and remained open all the time) the monthly cost of a unit isn’t prorated (we only used about half of the month at the time of our departure) and the unit we were originally set up with looked like it had a homeless person living in it (sleeping bag, microwave, yellow rice packet...) The only reason I’m not indicating “poor” for overall experience is because Olivia, the college student who seemed to be running the show both times I went into the office, was getting it done. She provided good customer service and seems like she’s got a bright future ahead. But ultimately the facility’s condition caused my wife and I to find storage elsewhere.

Disappointed to find that storage rates are not pro-rated upon moving out. I moved out a week after paying my storage fee, but I’m sure uhaul has already moved someone into the space I just gave up. Getting in and out was often a pain. The back gate has been broken, so you had to use the front gate (which was never closed) only to find it was often blocked by trucks getting checked in/out.

I was disabled and on 60% of my pay. U-Haul would not take partial payments and added late fees. Shameful disregard ending in auction and further charges which I will not be paying.

I rented a 5×5 unit for 2 months. When I removed my stuff, a lot of it was filled with mouse poo. There was a mouse detergent in the unit when I moved in but it obviously did little to get rid of them

As first time storage renters we were not told a lot up front. We didn’t know that rats could get into the units and rip stuff apart. It was inconvenient to go there and have to refill the rat poison.
