The guy receptionist could use some customer service experience. He was short and abrupt. He would not allow us to park our car on the premises! So that added extra mileage and inconvenience to drive our car to another location while the U-Haul followed, twice. The owner, however, seemed really nice.

I had a problem were the bridge to our property that we were moving from collapsed and we had to get the Uhaul towed off the bridge, but had to wait to get bridge repaired, and dealt with 9inch snow storm so it took many days to get the bridge safe to exit the property, I spoke with customer service and they were aware of what was going on, since they are the one that sent the tow truck to get the truck off of the bridge. The customer service lady indicated she would help me with the daily charges due to this issue we were having, but when I got my bill they billed me for the full amount. I called customer service and they gave me an area manager to speak with, when he called I missed his call, I tried calling him back dozens of times and no response. I then called customer service and they got me to his office, he was unavailable but she said he had decided that he would do nothing as they had helped me before on another move and felt they shouldn't have to help anymore. I have used Uhaul alot and don't like being told one thing and then doing another, and not caring to call and explain why they were changing there mind. That is not good customer service. I realize that it was not Uhaul fault that the bridge collapsed, and they were trying to help me while everything was on hold for repairs to the bridge, but to say one thing, then do another and refuse to call you back is not how you treat customers and grow a business. I was told to call Doug Westin at 828-358-1212, but first wanted to know how to proceed. Please let me know how to get this resolved.Mike Newman

Upon return of the equipment the employee who checked it in was very condescending, brash, and impatient. His ID badge said “owner”. I was very upset with the service received from him and felt it was very unnecessary. From the reviews I read this is typical of employees at this location. If you’re like me, and you have no other option than to have to use this location, just be prepared. If you are a large male with a short temper, better let your wife, or someone else deal with this guy, so you can avoid problems! Wow, I wouldn’t have expected that from the owner.

Patrick at this location is to be commended. He stayed late one night to make sure I received the truck so we could load in the evening and pick up tow dolly in the morning to start our Trek. Patrick is a keeper!!

Brandon was very helpful and efficient I really liked the layout of the showroom for a small space it really packs a great deal of moving supplies to help the customer. The manager is a great guy and it shows with his team!

The truck cargo area leaked like crazy and a lot of my stuff got very wet. I understand you have the cargo area marked as weather resistant not weather proof but the leakage was excessive especially for the small amount of rain I encountered. Also the rental contract did not have near enough mileage to even get from the rental town to my destination much less the additional mileage to get to the closest town U-Haul designated as the drop off point. I ending up having to pay for extra mileage that should have been included in the original contract. A very unpleasant surprise. Make sure you check the mileage for your travels on a good GPS program and make sure there is adequate mileage on your contract to avoid the extra charges.

There is no parking for your vehicle at this site. I received a text one hour before I was supposed to pick up the truck. I'm 2 hours from home and don't know anyone local... how the hell am I supposed to arrange somewhere to park my car on the outskirts of a small college town with an hour's notice? Also, when I arrived to get my contract and truck, the attendant offered me a discount if I dropped the truck off in Asheville, NC instead of Mars Hill. I asked him which Asheville location, as there are about 10 and the distance from one to the next is as much as 40+ miles. The system didn't say which location until you accepted the discount... no thanks. Side note, the guy working there was the most proficient and knowledgeable Uhaul employee I've ever dealt with. He's a good one.. pay him.
