The guy who oversaw my pick up did not ask me to inspect the truck for damages or cleanliness. The truck was dirty when I picked it up and when I saw the truck I was on a tight schedule and did not go back inside to talk to him because he had two other people waiting for rentals. He did not go over the contract and seemed to rush me through the process as if I were inconveniencing him.

Every thing was handled well on the hookup. The only snag was that the facility operator forgot to put my requested pads in resulting in me having to return to pick them up.

On truck drop off. Drop of truck next to another at location listed on contract. Do the on-line return truck process. Once completed told to drop key in drop box. I saw no drop box, as this was another place which was just a couple trucks in a gas station parking lot. I asked gas attendant where drop box is located, as was told they no longer do business with U-haul, and I cannot leave my key there. Called U-haul to explain the situation, first rep hangs up on me, and the next 4 are unable to help, . Last one states I can drop key off at next closest location. This was after over an hour of calling u-haul over and over to get an answer. Find other location, and drop off key. Return to key drop off location next day to ensure all is well. Attendant informs me they have the key but need the truck, or I will continue to get charged. I explained the situation, and they stated it was not their problem they need the truck, and do not care what rep on phone told me the night before. I called number, again, and they now stated that I need to deliver the truck to this new location. I had to drive back to where the truck was, and drive it back to the key drop off location, and then find a ride back to my vehicle. TLDR. Do not use U-Haul. The service is horrible, they lie, and their reps. are incompetent

Original drop off location was a different business/location than were we ultimately returned our truck, and when we arrived they informed us they had been declining UHaul drop offs for several weeks. Their location was printed on our reservation, as well as on our online registration. The location and service at 849 NC Hwy 105 Bypass was great, but this miscommunication to us was inconvenient and a turnoff. Also had to contact UHaul twice after initial phone call due to incorrect information on our reservation. Probably would not recommend UHaul in the future.

I broke a side view mirror during my rental. I adjusted the mirror once and I think that may have loosened the arm. Anyway, when I checked the mirror I saw that it had gotten pushed in against the door and the bottom mirror broken. My bad, and I certainly regret that it happened, but I have no recollection of hitting anything. Wish I had gotten the insurance.

My original drop-off location was in Newland, NC but that location was closed at 10:30 am. I was told to leave the trailer there by someone at customer service but couldn't because they have their lot locked. My rating of this location will be reflected on Yelp.

I think from my positive experience that this location may get a bad rap from spoiled and impatient college students renting & turning in trailers at beginning and ending of semesters. JMHO

box truck had no floor tie downs so I had to rent a motorcycle trailer as well. did not realize that when I picked it up because I needed it to get my wife to the hospital first , then go back and empty our motel room then back to the dealer to load the bike

Fill the trucks up. I don't like guessing how much fuel to put in...the guide is not very accurate. Otherwise everything was good.

The guy on site told me that I had a mileage overage charge (due to UHaul assigning me a dropoff location WAY further than I had requested) but he did NOT tell me that I needed to give him a card to charge against. Then I got a nasty email from UHaul threatening that I needed to pay up or a collection agency would be involved. I have rented from you a lot over the past few months and aside from this it has gone well. You need to work on your systems, and give the idiot at the dropoff some remedial training.

Furniture pads we received were wet and they damaged a bookcase. The guy whodidn't checked us in didn't let us know about not having a utility dolly even though it was reserved weeks in advance. Gave us furniture dolly that wasn't on our contract and when we finally noticed it he stated it was all they had. He had to call a manager to get the utility dolly removed from the contract! So his lack of attention to detail could have been very costly to us. The manager was very helpful in helping us to get our car attached to the tow dolly later that afternoon.

I was actually supposed to pick up at another location but at the last minute they called me saying the equipment that i had reserved was no longer available so I had to scramble to find another location. Not a happy experience overall.

When I picked up the 20ft truck from this location the gas needle as at the end of the gray marks and the Uhaul associate informed me that indicated a full tank of gas. The needle only went to the end of the gray and not to the "F". I only traveled 79 miles during my move and when I filled up to return the truck I was concerned with how much gas it needed to fill up (15 gals). I got into the truck and saw the gas needle was well past the gray marks and sitting on the "F". I returned the truck and showed my gas receipt to the General Manager of this location. He told me he wasn't there in the morning during pick up so he couldn't help me. I asked him what the normal MPG of the trucks and he said between 12-18 MPG and I explained based on the distance traveled and the amount of gas I put in the vehicle it showed how there was less than full gas in the truck upon pick up. Based on the amount of gas put into the vehicle and distance traveled it averaged less than 6 miles per gallon....The General Manager was very unprofessional in handling this situation, didn't want to help in any way.
