BRIAN KI was forced to pay $101 dollars to get off the "E-Alert" system because a person named "Tyler Lee" from Napoleon FL evidently used my account to rent and didn't pay. (This information is from U-Haul's internal system). Even though it was obviously not under my name, I had to pay off the balance to rent. Never again will I use U-Haul.

HECTOR RI recently rented a box truck as I do nearly every week starting 1 month ago, as an option, to help run the business I just started. I planned to use the truck for the time period I needed it and needed things to go smoothly to get the jobs done. I had 2 stops to make to complete the job. On the first job, I went to leave and the truck battery was dead. I immediately checked to make sure that I didn’t leave a light on or to see if this was the result of my mistake or the result of a bad battery. When I noticed that I didn’t leave any lights on I realized it was most likely a bad battery. I phoned a friend who came over and gave me a jump start. (1 hour wasted). Once I realized that it would be risky to turn off the vehicle for my second stop, I abandoned plans and headed back to the storage unit that I rent, with my business partner Tony Shipley from U-Haul to make our delivery and return the truck. I was disappointed to learn that U-Haul wouldnt be doing anything for me, for the this inconvenience, other then exchange the truck and go back out to complete the second job. My time window was closing and I didn’t have the time to go back out. A discount on my current rental or a discount on a future rental would have been much more useful to me in the scenario I was in. As is, my response was a take it or leave it offer. I left it and I will have to consider my options when I choose a truck rental company next week.

KYLE RI'm going thru a difficult transition in my life and needed to secure storage and a moving truck. Caitlin and her colleague were extremely friendly and patient in regards to achieving my needs. They took the the time to answer all of my many questions and set up everything for me on site. I would 10/10 recommend this facility. My experience at this location left me feeling valued as a customer and a person, not just a number. Excellent, front facing customer service from top to bottom.

JOHN Zit was not explained to me that there is a rate per mile... so when i picked it up it was $50 and upon return i was asked to pay $200.... I am a 1st time U-haul customer.... extremely disappointed :(

RICHARD CThe 15 ft truck is the actual truck like the cab is included in the measurement, which you can't store anything in the cab so you are screwed out of a few feet of space you could use for shipping , the price always goes up no matter what

LOREY GMove out procedure was a bit of a problem. I was under the influence using app that you request a move out. Then you move out prior to your payed to date. Was called and told lock would cut off because I already moved out. App needs to have better information. I could have just moved out then just not paid my bill and would have been easier. Not sure why have to request a move out then you’re just out. Had to rush there last night and clear out. Was going to go Saturday way before my paid till date. Feel like I should be reimbursed for a week of storage.

RUSSELL MThe only thing that I was disappointed with was that when I rented the storage unit, earlier that day I rented a tandem enclosed trailer. I had seen an ad about if you got a rental and storage unit together the first month on the storage unit would be free. I wasn't sure what size unit I was actually going to need at the time I picked up the trailer. I returned the same business day to and returned the trailer as well as rented a unit but wasn't given the offer cuz it wasn't at the same time. They did help on the back side of the rented unit when I became ill, had no income worrying on how to pay my home rent, they did make a deal with me to get my stuff out by signing a contract agreement to empty the unit for a much lower cost so I didn't lose any belongings

The Ford cargo vans are much better because they ride better and are easier to maneuver. This location only has one Ford. Was not happy to find that out for a big company. The location should at least have 2 or 3 more
ALLEN TMy initial call to schedule pickup was filled with confusion & frustration because I was not notified of the pic up location change. Additionally, purchase vehicles with automatic windows. It's time consuming & frustrating having to manually put the window down at toll booth. Especially since the window handle is not in an accessible location.
ALEXA OSo I ordered a cargo van, and when I got there they gave me a large truck instead with a much higher height. When I asked, they told me that for one way trips they do not offer cargo vans. Due to the height I couldn't pull into our shared garage. At the end of the day, this was 0% the location's fault but Uhaul's for not making sure I was aware when reserving the vehicle that I couldn't get a cargo van. My order confirmation email shows a cargo van.

Still i refuel the ride with three times just to match what they said as per document before i went to return. The ride Air condition ventilation was all not placed properly so it was hard to put the mobile holder to check the GPS. it was so hard to drive the ride with keeping the phone in lap all the time. So also while i went to dropped i had to pay still i refuel i have the receipts still i had to pay almost $9 extra while returning just to match the fuel they wrote on my document. not ethical.
Imran QRental was clean and ready to go. In and out in less than 10 minutes. Very nice people in service dept. and Lucy is the best. I rent every year and will continue to do so. Thank you.

But I will have to say that since filing for divorce several years ago and moving out of my home and to multiple dwellings U-Haul has been there for my needs from trucks to storage and even providing me with moving help for more than 1 move. I had storage and used trucks intermittently throughout 3 years. I would highly reccomend the facilities to anyone and the only changes they have made that I didn’t like was that the main doors ( bigger entrances) are now locked up at 7 pm so if you need to move things during after hours you have to use the smaller side doors. This is for safety reasons so I understand but it Makes it a little more difficult but still is possible..

Perhaps it was my dead mother's ghost who passed away 3 years ago from COVID...after all it was all of her stuff!! I'll never know how that lock just disappeared...filed a claim for insurance but was told since I did not pay an extra $30 per month for " Secure Store" I get nothing if anything was missing. That pisses me off. Not happy, this should be included in the over priced cost of the bin. Thankfully nothing was taken. I love and miss you mom!!

They made me feel like my things were in safe hands and indeed they were. I didn’t run across any issues. I was able to access my unit at my leisure as well as utilize carts. The facility was exceptionally clean including any walk ways, entryways, parking lots or service areas. One of the things I really enjoyed was having an alarm on my unit. This is a phenomenal storage company in the area!

When i called the store they sent me back to customer service. I even emailed the store manager and never got a response. Very unprofessional and you need to find a better way to assist with the change of ownership for people that have moved out of state.

I couldn’t get my stuff and they made every attempt to allow us to get it. They are the greatest people there. They watch me struggle with it and helped as much as they could. Right to the very end. There were several suspicious looking men hanging around the storage building who obviously did not belong there. YOU REALLY NEED TO HIRE ARMED SECURITY GAURDS. The police responded to your staff’s call and asked them to leave but when we dropped off the truck, there were more people sleeping(?) in cars in the back area and homeless people wandering thoughout the lot. This is not a safe place and we will be moving our stuff ad soon as we possibly can.

Customer service is very difficult to get through. On hold very lengthy times until I got a prompt to leave my # for a call back which was very helpful. I called Saturday early evening. I spoke with a customer service representative to extend my rental truck another evening. When I was talking to the representative, she was having a conversation with someone in her background. Obviously, she was working at home. She never updated the records to change the rental to the Bristol Durham Rd location or to extend the rental another day? Never taken care of.. Very sad customer service!! Mark at the Bristol Durham Rd. Was very exceptional and caring regarding my rental needs on Friday evening, I was in a last minute dismay.. When returning the recently truck to the Bristol Durham location, I was able to meet Mark in person. I wished to personally thank him for his professionalism and helping me.. Amazing works there. Kenneth A | Overall ExperienceI had reserved 2 furniture dollies. They had none. I had also reserved a 15 ft truck. They called me the day before my reservation to inform me that they might not have a 15 ft truck available, and asked me if I would take a 10 ft truck instead. I told them no, because I needed a 15 ft truck. Thankfully they had a 15 ft available when I went to pick it up. Otherwise I would not have been able to move all my mom's stuff who had just passed away from Covid. The 15 ft truck was packed to the door. That really upset me. They indicated in a text that I had made a "Last minute reservation," which was untrue. I had made my reservation a week before. While I was at the same location later that evening putting my mother's stuff in the storage bin I had also rented from them, I stepped on a long yellow metal horizontal pole they had that is intended to keep the dollies from going into the parking lot. It had been raining and it was wet. I stepped on it not thinking about it with items in my hands, and fell face first onto the concrete a step below. It shook me up. I couldn't get up for a few minutes. It hurt really bad. I bled from my face. I now have a black eye with scrapes all over my face. I also have two severely bruised knees that also bled. The yellow metal beam should have rough grips on them. They should not be so slippery. There was also orange cones blocking off part of the entrance to the storage bins with tape on them blocking part of the entrance, which was why I took the route I did, and ended up falling and really severely injured. I did not go to the hospital however because I was on a time limit. I had to have all of my mom's belongings out of her apt before the next day, or I definitely would have. The fall I took is on their security cameras I'm sure.

Gregory T | Overall ExperienceNo clear direction on moving in. Where to go or what to do. Was given locker #, code (not needed apparently) and told lock was in unit. That was it. Went to locker and saw a small tag on it that it was ready for user. Thought okay, cut it off and an alarm went off like we did something wrong. Nobody around to help or explain so just went about business. Alarm did go off so hoping everything was fine. Also directions on where to park are nonexistent on premises. I found my locker # on map easily but when you pull into complex there is a wrong way sign where you think you are to go to get behind building. So I keep driving to the end where I think it is going to dead end but realize I can actually get behind the building that way. Then when leaving I attempt to go out the way I thought I couldn’t get in at (assuming 1 way, but again no signage) and then I see the do not enter sign is also facing the other way. Are you not supposed to enter or exit at the top of the complex? Only go in and out at the end of the complex? Very confusing. Need signage, need directions on what to do on day 1 to get into unit.

Michael I | Overall ExperienceMy unit was broken into by a homeless person living in the unit next to mine. Almost all of my belongings were stolen. There were many things if sentimental value in the unit along with about $4000. Of items. A police was filed . The told us that they were called on other occasions to evict the women. U-Haul has pretty much told me that they are not liable or willing to help and I need to deal with the police. This is unacceptable for a company as large as U-Haul. Which is why I chose them in the first place. Obviously that decision was of no value. I can not replace the sentimental items ever but I should compensated for my other valuables which I don’t have the funds to replace. U-Haul should be accountable for who has access to the storage buildings. Especially since they knew that a homeless individual was living in there!

There were mice droppings and countless other damages to my items. Even staff members stated how they don't know clean this facility properly which is why there's bugs and mice inside of the units. DISGUSTING! The managers were absolutely NO HELP what so ever. I would rate this place a zero stars if I could. I'm never renting here again and I'll be sure to NEVER recommend this location to anyone.
