KURZ MI’ve had excellent service with location. Thank you for your professionalism. We only recall one challenge, that is a windshield visit was missing in the van we rented, the sun was shining brightly, I could not see, had I not had my sunglasses it could have been detrimental as the vans windshields are large, other than everything has been great.

MONTASER MTerrible experience! The original equipment was not kept up mechanically. The complete wheel and wheel hub assembly flew off one of the axles on I70 due to the brake pads being completely worn out (metal on metal). Trailer kept wanting to fishtail. The first flatbed tow truck was undersized and underpowered to get the trailer hauled to a U-Haul and had to wait for a second tow who had no issues, but we had to wait about 3-1/2 hours on the side of I70. Had to transfer all the items to another trailer. Was promised $40 for food and drinks upon sending a receipt for the inconvenience, but we never received that. Then I was accused of overloading the dual axle trailer which was not true. We lost almost an entire day of travel. We rented a 26' Van, a car trailer, and this 6x12 enclosed trailer. This caused a massive delay as well as the movers who was contracted through U-Haul at our final destination who no showed and wouldn't communicate. Had to hire another company that charged more, and U-Haul would not take any responsibility so i had to pay more for different movers, and U-Haul tried to charge me for additional time for the equipment which I disputed. Completely unacceptable! I won't used U-Haul again!

ERIC KI rented a vehicle trailer over a month ahead of rental day. My reservation was in the Manassas Sudley location. Two days before, my location was changed to the Herdon location. When I arrive the representative told me that the vehicle trailer was not available and if I wanted I could explore west of the state to see if there was one available. My only option was a vehicle dolly which I had to go and get it at another location, Chantilly. I had a move to Orlando schedule and came to find out the morning I was leaving that the item that I had reserved was not available. This is unacceptable and won’t rent again with U-Haul nor I will recommend. You need to do a better job with customers.

It does not mean that is who ARRIVED first. Everything else great. An customer service agent named BERNICE at the Chantilly, Rt 50 location has been awesome and helpful every time I have come in, which is a lot. Her customer service is exemplary! Great group of young folks at that location!!!!

LUIS DCharged me for 6 gallons of gas, I drove 50ish miles, I put 5 gallons in and got charged for 6 extra gallons, spend your money elsewhere.
JORDAN PI ran into a problem renting the equipment because the other driver I wanted to be able to help was flagged in your system. Now because of this I’m not able to rent anymore until she pays her past due amount. Very frustrating and unfair. Not a good business practice. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

TASHA SSelf check-in is very clumsy and doesn’t work smoothly. I had to submit my driver license 3 times before it was approved. Also business location bar code is not available easily on the location
SATYAVEER SOn Saturday, we were told by the customer service man cleaning out returned trucks to leave the pull behind trailer in the return lane and he would check it in. He also said they would Email us a receipt. It never happened. We received a call Sunday from the Uhaul office asking when we were returning the Uhaul and when we said that we already returned the pull behind trailer, they said that the customer service agent from Saturday must have brought it to the lot without checking it back into the system. The second agent took care of checking the trailer in and sending us paperwork that said that the return was completed.
BENJAMIN CI rented a 5x9’ trailer from Chantilly U-haul and picked it up at 4:06pm with a return time at around 9pm. At that time I was charged the normal day rent, which I had no problem with. The issue I have is that the rep came, hooked the trailer to my Jeep, but did no walk around to ensure the tires and lug nuts are good to go. I trusted him and almost found out the hard way. When I got to my first stop I checked the lug nuts and found 1 was half off so I checked all of them and found every lug nut was at least half a turn loose with a lug wrench. Totally unacceptable. I also called to let the office know that I was going to return the trailer after 9pm and was told no issues. I returned the trailer at 11:24pm that day. To my surprise I was charged for 2 days! I called and tried to find out why I was being charged for 2 days when I only had the trailer for just over 7 hours. The U-Haul rep corrected the charges. Lesson learnt- don’t trust anyone, do your own hands on inspection and check your bill for mistakes.

MARLINE PI was billed close to $40 dlls for a reservation of a small 14.95 trailer. I don’t know how a reservation of a trailer quoted at 14.95 can go to $40 Dlls. Unfortunately I was in a rush when I returned the equipment and did not have time to go to the office and argue the charges.

ALISON BIt would’ve been nice to have the unit lit, but other than that had a great experience. Only negative was the way you handled my first month free. You went ahead and charge me in Advanced for the second month which I hadn’t budgeted for, but I was assured I wouldn’t be charged the second month. Then, at the beginning of the second month, I got charged anyway. The staff at the facility promptly credited me, but the only way they could do it was to close down my rental and start a new rental. You should really get that fixed. Cause I left a bad taste in my mouth as it caused me to have an overdraft charge on my bank account.

Walter M | Overall ExperienceUpon handling the closing of a unit from end of June, while trying to figure out if we were charged or not and if it was closed in their system because we were getting late fee notices, the woman who was supposed to close us out was the one that answered the phone. When I escalated the issue with her manager and I went in to describe the employee as an Asian female (which the employee did tell me she was Asian), the manager blew up at me and accused me of using gender and cultural identification in a derogatory manner. I explained that the person on the phone told me she was Asian and the manager continued to yell at me about being racist (considering my husband and my daughters are Asian, I don’t understand how I was being disrespectful, I was just trying to describe the person who made the mistake). I am still shaken by the accusations of being racist and using derogatory remarks by calling the employee an Asian female. I found the blow up from the manager to be highly disrespectful and shocking to say the least. Absolutely AWFUL customer service over the phone. I never had issues in-person. In fact, that same manager was super helpful with me and my husband the day we did the move out, offering advice on how much weight our truck is capable of hauling. I was absolutely appalled she said I used derogatory language using the words Asian female. In today’s world, THAT description is acceptable.

Brienne K | Overall ExperienceI moved out of units 2130 and 2149 on May 12. When the movers were packing me out I went to the office to inform the staff member of my move out. I was told to return later that day when the movers were done and someone would do a walk thru with me. I returned a few hours later and was greeted by a different staff member who did not do a walk thru and told me they would take care of closing out my contracts. Turns out 2130 was closed. 2149 remained open despite the fact I checked the following the day and was told both units were closed. I was charged $143 on May 13 and charged $143 on June 12th. I’ve been trying over a week now to get refunds and spoke to the General Manager, Richard who said he’d take care of it. He closed 2149 on or around June 14 but only processed a refund for the June charge. The May charge has still not been refunded. I’m very dissatisfied with this situation. Why the first person I spoke to (when I wanted to check out) told me a walk thru was necessary but the second person who was supposed to but did not tells me the staff at the Chantilly location do not follow their own procedures and the result is the situation I’m in. I was satisfied with UHaul until I tried to closed my accts.

Michael B | Overall ExperienceWe rented a "drive-up" unit because we have some large and heavy items to store and wanted to drop them out of the truck and directly into the storage unit. We arrived late in the evening only to find that your version of "drive-up is a loading dock. The unit you gave us was at the furthest point away from the loading dock which made it extremely difficult and time consuming to move our items from the truck to the unit. We also found out that the large sliding doors at the dock are locked at 7:00 P.M. which will make moving items after 7:00 P.M. very difficult. Luckily we ran into "Ryan" who stayed after his shift to allow us access to the sliding doors. Major kudo's to Ryan, he was very courteous and understands customer service. Otherwise, the unit was clean and ready to use,
