I like the location and ease for getting equipment to rent. The first time I rented from there, there were no issues. This time, I was thoroughly dismayed when I arrived to get my rental trailer and was given a 5x8 trailer vice the 6x12 trailer I had reserved and it was the only one available. There was no notification of the down sized trailer via email or text and when I showed my reservation to the clerk, I was informed there would not be a 6x12 trailer until Monday. Thankfully what I needed to move for into the smaller trailer; however, I was frustrated that I did not get what I reserved. I find it challenging that my reservation was changed without my knowledge and I got a smaller trailer. Again, it all worked out but I hope it doesn't happen in the future.

Conveniently located. Service was as expected, simple straightforward. Truck had damaged wiper that scrapped the windshield instead of clearing it. Truck also have a significant amount of oversteer while driving. Probably out of alignment as well since the truck tended to drift. Brakes were clearly worn requiring significant pressure to bring the vehicle under control. Basically, the driving experience was a little like riding in an old wooden roller coaster. A little bit scary. Not far from what I expected, so I would use the service again. Thanks.

Be sure to check the fuel level. I was given a vehicle that had 1/8 of a tank. The paperwork stated 1/4 tank. I did not go back in to complain so I ended us spending an extra $10 to get the gauge to the 1/4 level they were expecting.

Staff was great but the trailer shouldn't have been on the road. It had bald spots on the tires and door wouldn't stay open. I was really surprised no one was hurt.

I dropped my rentals off just as the office was closing. The two gentlemen working in the office could have gone home but instead remained to help me unload my auto from the auto dolly. It was very helpful and much appreciated.

Don't understand why I got charged an additional $15.00 I had the truck for about 4 hours and drove less than 20 miles and ended up getting charged $80+ Didn't even get a full tank of gas I probably shouldn't have got the insurance. Not impressed.

We had a HORRIFIC experience the day we were scheduled to pick up our truck. First, the day before, we were called and told our ORIGINAL pickup location didn't have the truck. So they moved the location 15 miles further away to the Hyattsville Uhaul (2421 Chillum Rd). We arrive the day of the pick up and the truck is not there. They call customer service and offer us a truck in Chantilly VA, FORTY MILES away. The representatives shrugged and stood there in silence until we left. Absolutely disgraceful service. I wouldn't touch that local again if it was the last rental place on earth. It was a shameful way to treat customers and then shrug us off and tell us to spend more of our day driving all over northern Virginia because your company did the wrong thing. Utter rubbish.

While the check-in process went easier online this time - with no issues. The vehicle I received had an oil-change indicator alert and a tire sensor failure. While it did not impact the operation of the vehicle it was annoying. On returning the vehicle I completed the steps per the website - as there is no dropbox for keys during the day - I locked the vehicle and took the keys inside. I guess this isn't okay for them - they asked me to return the keys to the vehicle. Standardize your process or place signage at the return area indicating what should be done. Especially since you charge for not doing an self return of the vehicle.

The UHAUL Application does not work well - I started my checkin process to rent my van and the application stopped working half-way through - it wouldn't continue to take a picture of my id. I switched to the website and completed the process to the point where it said go in and get the key. I went in and they were unable to find the key - because they had given it to another rental - double booking the vehicle. So I then had to wait for them to switch my rental to a new vehicle.

I selected a vehicle (cargo van) for 19.99 and the rate per mile was .60 and I paid the $10 coverage fee for up to $150 damages just to protect myself even though I knew it would be a short trip. When I picked up the vehicle it had a tire pressure light and oil change light on which I took a photo and sent to them immediately. The total cost being $80+ for a trip from fairfax to Woodbridge and back to pick up furniture seems high in my opinion honestly and returned near 4 PM. I was expecting maybe near $40-$50 charge, maybe $60. There are less expensive alternate routes but it was convenient and helpful and I was unaware it would cost this much for me. I don't use moving services often so it's definitely possible the industry is just more expensive now. The staff seem to perform their duties efficiently.

The lady at the desk who did my rental was kind, polite, and very efficient. She is an outstanding representative for U-Haul and deserves a raise. I've never met her before, nor have any connection with her - but as a business owner, these people are worth their weight in gold! She did great.

Not sure how to improve. Professional and courteous staff, well organized site, already had equipment ready upon arrival, assisted rapidly upon return... just an overall great experience. I would use this uhaul as a model location for other locations which may not be getting such great reviews.
