The employee forgot to come unlock my unit and after waiting 20 minutes for him, I had to walk back to the office to ask him again to come remove the luck from the unit. When he opened the rollup door, he saw that it wasn't staying up properly, but just walked away without trying to fix it or suggest a solution. When I asked about it as I was leaving, he said he could look at it, but I'd need to go back to the unit. I didn't have time to do that since I had already been there for so long.

The individual that I worked with checking out the equipment went above and beyond to make sure it was an easy and pleasant experience. It's the second time renting from him, and he certainly knows how to build customer loyalty! Very professional, extremely helpful, and overall just a great guy to work with.

The trailer itself was rusty on the inside. Not a big deal as I was only hauling some lumber, but it would have bothered me had I been moving furniture or something nicer. Anyway, everything else was great. We had a bit of a wait due to a customer in front of us in line having some kind of issue, but the girl working was great. She was multitasking while on the phone for the first customer and helping 3 other customers at once. I give her an A+ for trying to get customers helped as quickly as possible and she was nice and friendly the entire time.

First, maybe make sure that your agents verify the equipment that the customer is wanting. For example, I asked to rent a 5x8 utility trailer, instead, the agent gave me a 5x9 utility trailer. A difference in price of about 10 dollars. If I wasn't in a hurry, I would have caught the error. But I didn't notice until the trailer was already hooked up. When I returned the trailer, I mentioned it to the female agent that was on duty, and she offered to try and get me a refund. I told her that I was in a hurry, doctors appointment, and that since I used it, I might as well pay for it. She was awesome. Another thing, on all of your open utility trailers, you have links for strapping things down, but they are all along the bottom of the trailers. You might consider putting a few near the top, because that way, people wouldn't have to squeeze between their items to finish strapping them down. Just a little thought.

You could not adjust the mirrors to your needs to use the mirrors can’t adjust the mirrors from the inside and u can’t adjust the mirrors by pushing on the mirror itself you can move the bracket to the mirror but not where you want it at it’s either your looking at the side of the unit or it’s too far out they u have to lean over to look out the mirror

Give the ramp size on the description in big font. It is a 6ft wide trailer, with a ramp at least 12inches narrower than the trailer. There are 2 walls on the back of the trailer, that prohibit loading anything that is the width of trailer interior. I drove 30 minutes to get the trailer in the opposite direction of my destination, then drove an hour to pick up a lawnmower, only to find out that there was no way to load it. I then had to pay someone else a premium to have them deliver the lawnmower. When I returned the trailer, I shared this with the manager and he basically said "oh well"

It was easy checking in and getting a truck. The storage unit was very clean and easy to access and returning the vehicle was super quick. All of the staff members were friendly and very helpful. I'll definitely be coming back if the need arises

The pick up at the alton location was fine. The guy was helpful and friendly. When i dropped the trailer off at the decatur location the service was horrible, they refused to help me get the trailer off my truck, I have pins in my shoulders I’m not suppose to be lifting anything heavy. I even called them letting them know I will be there about 10minutes to closing time and I needed help getting the trailer off my truck. they locked the door before closing time so I couldn’t get inside to ask if I needed to sign anything stating that I dropped off the trailer, laughed at me thru the glass when I was knocking on the door. I didn’t know where to drop the trailer off at, they yelled at me and told me to put it where I picked it up at, I said I picked it up 150miles from here in St. Louis this is my drop of location. The service was absolutely horrible at the Decatur location and I feel as though I deserve a refund because of it.

Both locations was fine, but I took the car trailer back early so I could better unload the truck at a storage facility...plus they told me that they would give me an extra day to return the truck by 10:30 am which I did, but they still charged me more money? Plus they need to take into account that the area I came from when on central time and the place I moved to was on Mountain time.... Plus there was a pretty bad snow storm the day I was suppose to leave, but choose not to leave until the following day to make sure the equipment wouldn't be damaged or get stuck in the snow storm on that day! I have spent a lot of money with u-haul on my trip from Illinois to Colorado...and I also paid for a tow hitch and installation as well. I truly beleive that u-haul should refund me of the last charge because I was told they would give me an extra day, and I took the truck back on time and 3/4 tank full of gas. I've rented from East Alton U Haul for many years and it has always been good. The employees working there are the best, and totally took care of me. Even when the vehicle I was supposed to get came back with issues, they moved me to a new one without any hang up and it was actually better than the one I wanted. Thanks again for all their help.

The representative at your facility yesterday (Receipt says Steven J) was truly one of the most personable and pleasant customer service people that we have run across in quite some time. He was efficient and patient (a customer in front of us was a bit extra) with customers. He did everything he could to get us out in record time and was so friendly! We wouldn't hesitate to sit down to dinner with him ... he was that type of guy. I sincerely hope you pay him a decent wage because he really deserves it - he didn't dawdle and was busting moves the entire time to get the job done. Efficient and a credit to your organization! There were three workers there and it took two of them to get me a storage unit, neither one of them had ANY idea of what they were doing! Both of them were “winging it”! My only problem was access at night. Some people work and only have the night time for business. It would have been nice if I could do things say 8ish-9ish at night. You did good for your security, just having access after 7pm. I would suggest having cameras on all storage facilities that way if anything does happen you have them on film. The people there were great, they have such wonderful personalities and they're really good to people. I would highly recommend their storage facility. Putting uhaul lock on unit along with my lock is extremely inconvenient.....as we have to wait every time for someone to come out to the unit to unlock uhaul lock, and that wait could be up to 10 minutes, especially if there is only one person on duty.....extremely inconvenient.

I really hated not being able to get to my stuff anytime I wanted. I also didn’t like having to stop in the office to ask someone to unlock my unit before I could get into it especially when they were busy inside. I understand they had to help the customers who where there first, but if it didn’t have the other lock I wouldn’t have had to wait. I strongly believe you shouldn’t have that lock on the unit, because the contents of the unit belonged to me, and I was paying you to rent the space. I should have had access to it anytime I wanted. That is equivalent to if I had rented a house from you, before I could get in I had to have you unlock it. I also didn’t like how quickly UHaul calls the second person on the list when your payment is late. That shouldn’t happen unless someone is at the very least 2 months behind. Everything was well lit, clean, and the staff was extremely friendly, and helpful when needed, but I’m on the fence about recommending or reusing for storage again because of the things I didn’t like. If this things could be addressed I would reconsider reusing in the future.
