How could you not know that if that’s your job?We didn’t know where the unit was located We did not know how to get into the unit. He did not give me a lock as he was supposed to do. He had my wrong address on my paperwork. He had a different deal when I went the store versus what I was able to get online, but I couldn’t get online because I couldn’t upload my ID Biggest complaint I got to the unit opened it up and someone else’s things were in the unit had never been cleaned out. You never checked it. After a long day of moving, this was not a great experience luckily there was someone else there I believe the manager, and he was very helpful, but he had three other people yelling at him and even though I think his supervisor of the phone trying to get him Not too good at this one

Jamal SMike and the team are absolutely incredible. I had the pleasure of being Brittany's first storage rental many months ago and checking out with her last night. Both times she was as pleasant and professional as you could hope for when dealing with a move. Mike made me feel welcome on day one, as well as thanking me for my time as a customer of U-Haul as I was moving out. It really felt like I was appreciated and not just another autopay. My experience was professional, with a neighborly charm I had not found elsewhere. My only reason for moving out is that I only needed the larger space for half the year, but whenever I need storage in the future I know where my choice will be. Until then I will recommend everyone I know to store with U-Haul in Wilton.

SUSAN NThe pick-up was scheduled for after store hours. Knowing this, I called a few hours ahead of pick-up while the store was still open to verify how I would get the furniture pads and dolly that was on my reservation. The staff assured me that the equipment would be in the back of the truck at pick-up. It was not, and I had no way to get it with the store being closed. I thought calling ahead would help make sure things went smoothly. I was wrong. When I arrived, the truck assigned to me was grid-locked between other vehicles with almost no way to get it out. I eventually managed to free the truck and exit, but it was extremely poor planning on the staff to leave a truck being picked up in between a number of other vehicles with no maneuverability.

MARK PVery poor, rude, unfriendly manager. Please note i moved out on 4/9 and they have me moved out 4/10. I have my receipt closed out on 4/9 not 4/10. The manger sent me an email that they were putting my stuff on auction for a few days late which prompted me to find another storage which was in my favor anyway it is bigger and cheaper. On more than one occasion Micheal manager was rude to me. The last time i spoke to customer service who corrected him that i was not 30 days late. Micheal is condescending and rude. I would not use that facility or maybe uhaul again because of is rudeness. I travel alot and faced a lot of rudeness from them because i would not give them my card and would pay when i get back. Even with that i was not a month late. It was bad so i moved as promised. Now they wont need to be rude. There was rat droppings in my stuff and some was chewed up by rats. They said the black thing they have was to keep rats out well that did not happen. There was a young man there called Jay. He was the only one with manners there. He was friendly, kind and helpful beyond that unfriendly staff. If you ask me should be manager. Always helpful, always friendly, always kind.

MARCDALENE CMichael, the manager, was friendly, courteous and fast. We have used this location on a number of occasions. There are a couple of locations closer to where we live, but we always use this location. In all honesty, the other locations make you feel as if you are interrupting their only coffee break of the day. Wilton Manors always makes us feel welcome and that they truly appreciate our business. We will be using them for all future needs.

BARBARA HThe check out after hours is kind of complicated, many steps in the app, when you think you are done, you have to get back in the truck to keep doing the job. In addition to that we get charge $20.00 for that, I cleaned the truck, left ready to be use in the morning for next customer and I get charge additional $20.00 - This is ridiculous, I can see if I did not follow the instructions, but get charge for doing the right thing, extremely wrong. Thank you - Other than that, the guys in the store are very nice, the ladies need to work in their attitude.

THOMAS ZThe check-in person couldn't get their phone to work to check me in so I had to just leave the truck and hope it got checked in properly, as I couldn't get a receipt without it being checked in, which I will now have to go back to U-Haul later to get for my tax records. U-Haul should have a back-up phone for checking trucks in or some other type of check-in system using only a U-Haul check in device instead of expecting their agents to check people in returning trucks using their own cell-phones.

LLOYD HThe staff was less than helpful. Starting from when I got the keys to the truck and told “the truck is out front” with no other clue or direction. The mins later after wandering around, we found the truck. Followed by the use of an innovative application that requested I take pictures of all sides of the truck. When the phone app stopped working and I was not able to capture all 4 pictures, I attempted to get the staff’s attention, only to be blown off at first, yelled at because I was interrupting the employee who was on the phone, to eventually being told that didn’t need to take the pictures because “they already knew” the state of the vehicle. The return was not much better.

CARLOS MThe agents (2) were having private conversations about collecting vehicles from other renters instead of checking me out. It got so bad I asked for the manager. He jumped into action while the others were no help. Then there was not the reserved dolly that u had ordered a week before. The manager made it right but I had to return to pick it up later. It was so bad that I started calling Penske to see what they had available. I returned the vehicle in half full and they said I didn’t. I made sure it was the same amount and they said it wasn’t. So I was charged for additional gas. That was not good. Bad customer service.

STEVEN SThe truck was rented for a charity fundraiser to pick up the chairs and tables. I had originally scheduled 5pm on friday till 5pm on saturday. But knowing the volunteers needed to pick up earlier, when i checked in at the counter I changed pick up to 3pm on friday, and said it would be back on Saturday by 530.l. Again discussed with the counter agent that i may be an hour or so late depending how the charity fundraising event went. The initial fee with mileage was $31 and some change. Perfect. Event happens went great. Return table and chairs to the company that “DONATED” sto support the event. U-Haul couldn’t be bothered to respond to the request to donate the truck for 24 hours. Saturday afternoon i called the U-Haul in the morning before noon and spoke to a gentleman and said hey we are going to be returning prior to 6pm, is there any further fees, the guy that answered said - dont worry about it. So we didnt. Here is the problem. The original email confirmed 3pm to 3pm . On the printed paper it says rental is from 245 on friday to 250 on saturday…..that doesnt event make sense. 250 on Saturday? We already adjusted times to 3pm to 3pm, with the u nderstganding that as long as it was back by the estimated time there would be no additional charges. We returned the box truck at 453, as a call and text verifies. By the time the guy checked in our truck 24 minutes had passed. And he said, very politely, and i know he was just doing his job and hand to folllow your rules. So tells me now the new rate for rental which was for $31 and some change you were charging a nonprofit additional fees basically for another FULL 24 HOUR RENTAL. Granted its like another $20 bucks But do you realize that $20 could have gone towards medical fees for someone fighting cancer? The charge was put through on my bank card, as sponsor of the event, and company owner of Your Home INspector Guys, currently fighting an inoperable brain tumor, that with what energy i have after my chemo and radiation treatments, put my time in to supporting this event. So I hope that extra day rental you made you enjoy. Especially when we had an ok from the man who answered the phone, who did not communicate to the man checking the truck back in , that we had to wait on , that put us over whatever schedule you decided was acceptable. Enjoy your $20. I will make sure to my 4000 personal followers on facebook personal account, and my 1000 followers for my business, and the 22000 broward county consumers on my monthly “whats happening in south florida” newsletter sees a free add and link to those that supported the event, and then a special announcement telling them the situation, and that yes its only $20, but you do not deserve it over who that $20 could have helped. BRANDON BThe only problem. The workers are in there phone on a private call. They are ordering lunch, cussing at the people on the phone. This happened on my last rental picking up and going into the store to place the reservation. The second time it was when I picked up the trailer. The first time and making the 2nd reservation I got the larger gentleman. He was great both times and when I got my last rental. Also he was the only one after the trailer was hooked up checked the lights. The employees there need to realize we the customers are paying there salary. The customer in front of them shouldn’t have to hear their private phone calls. This made me feel that my business was not important to them.

STEPHEN UThis is a very busy truck rental location and the U-Haul corporation needs to start replacing some of the 10 foot trucks I rent at this location regularly. One had a crack in the roof and my things inside the back got wet from rain. Then I was given this truck again after it was caulked in the roof but the crack was open again because caulk won't hold metal together on a moving vehicle. I was then given another 10-foot truck to move my things out of the roof leaking truck and the truck I moved into had the headlights control switch shoved into the dashboard so the headlights it couldn't be manually controlled.

SEBASTIAN AI loved my experience with the Wilton Manors U-Haul location and will not hesitate to use them again and recommend to a friend. I wish U-Haul could work with the City of Wilton Manors to make entry and exit safer for everyone. The blindspot can prove challenging for exit due to the bridge blocking the view of the traffic.
JEFFREY STerrible client experience. I scheduled my hitch install at the Pompano Beach location for 7AM. When I arrived, the manager informed me that the install was moved to Wilton Manners for 9AM. The manager told me this relocation was done a week prior, however, the confirmation text was sent to my phone while I was standing in the lobby. They had not transferred the required parts to the Wilton location so there was never an actual transfer even if I had showed up to the correct location. It wasted about 2 hours of my time with moving locations and then I needed to leave the car and come back. All of the staff was professional but the entire process was disorganized. Unhappy with the client experience.

LEDWIN AInitial rental went smoothly and staff was friendly. On the return the check out was slow with quite a delay from when we arrived to when someone came out. He was a little unclear about when we were finished but we got a clue when he started mopping the back of the truck. After we asked, he said we were good to go. On reviewing the bill I was surprised that we were charged $1.99/mile (that wasn’t clear in their advertised daily price. Their insurance wasn’t mentioned either. I checked online and found this is routine though the mileage charge, it said, generally runs between $.50 and $.99/mile. Anyway, it all worked out in the end.

I can understand trying to save electricity at night but there should at least be sensor lights or a dial where one can turn on outside lights so a person doesn't have to try to load or unload their storage unit outside in the dark. There are homeless people living in this area and a group of them lives under the bridge next to the parking lot at U-Haul. They wander the property at night and it's not safe to be there with no lights on.

I got a truck 24⁵for hours later. This cost me hundreds of dollars as a result and., and I did not even get an apology. They said 'we are very busy'

I found my storage really dirty with lots black mulch debris and no AC climate room as I asked! So I didn’t have choice, because there wasn’t other storage available! I swept all the storage and left my things there . Hope I won’t get mold on my things!

To be short, a problem in the system resulted in about 18 taps, insertions, and swipes of two separate pay cards along with some failed manual input attempts. I was left emotional after 45 mins of that torture, a trip to the atm, and a friendly 10-min grace window to pay after normal store hours. I’m glad I didn’t have to change locations. Also glad I didn’t blow up. Jareth, please be a bit more sensitive to customers feelings and stop putting so much emphasis on the possibility of FRAUUUDULENT suspicions at my bank. Thanks team!

Our unit has stair-only access, which wouldn’t have deterred me, but I could see that being an issue for others. I don’t remember that being stated in the description. We did have difficulty finding our unit. I did not see the link for the facility map that was in an email until after we went to the facility. We were driving around and couldn’t find the right building, a directional sign, or map. We eventually went into the office, where the only associate was working with another customer. We waited for a few minutes, but eventually a small paper map on an empty associates desk, from which we were able to find our unit. I would recommend some signage to at least direct cars toward the right access doors for the different alphabetic regions. The “air conditioned” unit was very hot. After loading our unit we went back the the office and told the associate who said they knew and that it was going to be fixed soon. We went back today (two weeks later) and the AC unit was running, but it was still above 85° On the wall mounted thermometer. Not the end of the world, but worth noting, the door stop on the access door to our section is broken. One final note, our unit had a rat trap in the corner. On one hand, I appreciate pest control, but on the other, it was concerning.
