I was charged 25 dollars for cleaning the truck when I cleaned it out before I returned it.

Staff was always friendly and incredibly helpful. But the facilities were awful. There is only one loading area to the building on the most narrow side of the property between the building and fence line, which is also where storage parking spaces are. To park and load/unload you have no choice but to block the entire roadway, along with other people’s external units. Other vehicles have nowhere to go and can’t get through. Floor surfaces to roll the carts over have bumps so huge that my wife couldn’t even push or pull them over. If you have a cart full of stuff it’s going to knock it all off, if you can get over the bump in front of the elevator and in each open doorway. I can’t make sense of why the doorways would have a gigantic bump on the floor. It’s hard enough to roll a cart full of your belongings through the narrow hallway. Elevators are ancient and clearly haven’t been mechanically maintained, along with the entry card reader that normally took 3-4 tries to get in. It’s clearly more important to U-Haul to make extra profit over continuing to invest in and maintain their facilities. The level of frustration when using this unit on top of the stress of moving was ridiculous and not worth even half the price I paid. I’m prior military and have used many storage units, this has been one of the worst. Let me reiterate that the staff on site couldn’t have been better, and had nothing to do with my dissatisfaction with the unit.

Access was difficult and the corner's were right. Several humps and bumps caused items to fall off the carts and hard to pass through doors.

The storage was adequate. The light in my storage unit was out so it was difficult to go through boxes etc. The unit was squeezed at the side back fence and made it impossible to enter and exit in my big van. The other patrons almost always blocked the entrance and monopolized the carts. When the rates increased, I decided that I had had enough. The girl who checked me out was very pleasant.

Clerk was confusing. Wanted the $99 unit. Invoiced 119 ? Unit. Never explained climate controlled difference. Wouldn’t explain what a “locker” was. Waved arms around. Got frustrated and tired. Finally settled on a 5 x 10 unit no climate controlled. Sold me lettered lock. Other lady said I could not use it (then why sell it on U-Haul rack?). Had to exchange. Billed both.

For the drive space, it's extremely tight turns for the big uhaul trucks. Other than that, my furniture and other stuff were not damaged by being in your facility. The temperature were maintained.

Check-in staff was courteous and professional. Truck was clean and on time. However, when we ran into problems NOBODY was available to help. I spoke to 3 different employees who were not knowledgeable or interested in helping us. We were told, upon returning the truck and expressing our troubles, that a manager would call us and investigate. No such luck. I called Customer Service when I received my bill 3 days later, and was promised ( again) a call back but you guessed it, nobody called. Once they have your money, they seem to not care. I would not recommend.

This is a great facility with easy access, close to the interstate and very secure. The gentleman that was on staff on site was very helpful and friendly. I rented this unit sight unseen from the Internet, and was very pleased.

My belongings showed signs of a rodent infestation. There was rat droppings in my stuff. This problem needs to be taken care of. I have to leave my stuff outside my new home and carefully move each piece in to insure I don't have any rats in them and bring them into my new home.

Nate was great, and the van was clean and extremely useful! However, I was told half-way through the trip that the left rear blinker and brake light didn't work. A small thing, but something that needs to be fixed. And I have allergies, so I could have done without the scent that was in the van, probably from whatever is used to wipe down and clean it.

The cargo trailer I rented literally came apart while I was driving. The frame snapped in half. Upon further inspection I found rust perforation in the frame. Had this happened while I was on the highway, I could have been seriously injured as well as others behind me.

The truck rental was fine, but...… I was misled on the phone prior to pickup. I reserved what I thought was a 10x30 climate controlled unit and thought it applied the discount for a free of storage because I rented a one way truck. But I soon found out that the said climate controlled unit I reserved was an office space and was only climate controlled max of 2 hours. That was not what I was going to pay 569 dollars for any ways. So I canceled and just rented the truck. All of this on the day I needed the storage unit an was planning on moving. Not a great way to start the moving day out. Then the lady in the office told me when I do return the truck to make sure the fuel was back where I started and that I can return the key in the drop box if its after hours. Great so I took a picture of the dash to make sure it was accurate and proceeded to the office around the corner and up the hill which was not a close walk by any means. I dropped the key in the door and went on the app to do the online return like the sign on the wall said to do. Well its starts asking me for all of this information and a ton of pictures that I didn't know I needed because this information was not relayed to me when I rented the truck. The was not a great experience at all and I am not sure I will do business with U-Haul again.

When renting the truck we were told we have 48 hours to return the vehicle. During on 500 mile drive we got a call that the vehicle needs to be dropped off within 24 hours otherwise we will be charged for an extra day. Both pick up and drop off locations were hard to reach afterwards to work out details. This casued a lot of extra stress while driving the truck. Both locations blamed the other location for not knowing the rules properly.

Explain to customer Et that if equipment is not picked up at the exact time on the lease that after an hour the truck can be leased to someone else even though the original lease has a credit card on file. We had heavy traffic and ended up being one hour and 20 minutes late picking up the truck that truck had been leased to someone else, but luckily there was still a truck to get. This caused a lot of anxiety.

There was a small delay in receiving the keys for the truck due to the computer switching to a new system. Myself and another customer had to wait for a while. I think that there needs to be a paperwork contract to fill out in case the system goes down, or there are technical issues to prevent this from happening in the future

This time I rented 2 vans and returned them both at the same time. When trying to return the vans on line, there was no way to distinguish which rental was which. Of course, I guessed wrong and chose the wrong rental. The system would not process (I assume because the milage didn't make sense.) This is not really a complaint, but just feedback. The location personnel took care of the issue.

I rented a 20 foot truck and only drove it 8 miles. When I went to fill the gas up at the end, it took 6 gallons to fill the tank. I kept the receipt for the gas along with my documentation and tried to explain to the customer service rep that I’d only gone 8 miles, which should’ve been less than 1 gallon. She said that she would look into it but that the 20 foot trucks used a lot of gas. I tried to explain that it just was not full when I rented it and there must be a mistake. This is very frustrating because , I will have to rent a truck in just a couple of months to move cross country. I’m going to have to look for another provider because this is not acceptable.

I was charged an extra $46. I picked up the truck, drove it to my home then to the drop off location. I did not set any mileage limit to begin with and if I was told I'd be charged $1 a mile over some made up limit I would never have gone with uhual. I I wanted to return the truck in Camden, SC but was told it would be cheaper to return it to Columbia only to then be charged $1 per mile to get to Columbia. Complete garbage - I will never do business with uhual again.

Bear with me as this will be thorough. I am the treasurer of a nonprofit. All of our board members are volunteers, including me. Our nonprofit has held an account with this facility for many years. When I took over as treasurer, I found that in the transition from one treasurer to the next our account had become past due. I squared it away, giving a check to the office, in person, to ensure that all was brought up-to-date. The check was cashed by U-Haul. Within a few days, we began receiving notices that our account was in a lien status due to nonpayment. After speaking with the branch manager Tarsha Lawrence no less than a dozen times via email, we could not figure out what had happened with our payment. I provided a check for 4+ months at that point to not only bring us current but to pay us ahead as I did not want anyone thinking our foundation was unable to pay its bills. After speaking with Tarsha numerous times, and tickets sent to customer service to try and figure out the issue, Tarsha opted to give us a courtesy credit for the amount of the check. However, because I had paid so far in advance, she was unable to apply the credit to the account. She asked me to call when we have a balance due and she would manually apply it. First off, after 17+ years in Verizon Wireless customer service, as a representative, if our company has made a booboo, you as the rep are supposed to own it and fix it. We set follow ups to attend to the customer's issue rather than making them call in again. Clearly, Uhaul could learn a thing or two from Verizon. About two months later, I physically went in to the storage facility to do some spring cleaning of our unit. While I was there, I asked the current employee on duty to apply the credit to our balance. He advised he would. It was never applied. We began receiving lien notices, with charges. I physically went in again and spoke to Tarsha who applied the credit that her employee failed to apply. When I asked her to remove the two $15 lien notice charges, she advised that she would need to speak to her employee to inquire on what actually happened before she could consider doing that. I advised her that if that was the case than we would be leaving. I kindly reminded her that as a nonprofit, our board members are volunteers and that the amount of time I had spent on these very small issues (made bigger by the incompetency of the employees who run that location) was entirely excessive and too much to continue. Since then, we have also spoken to corporate, on an unrelated matter, it came up in conversation and the representative advised that she would have a supervisor call... which of course never happened. Since then, we have moved to Life Storage, we obtained a unit of the same size in climate controlled spacing for $81 a month versus the $126 U-haul was charging us. We are all the happier because that means less money goes towards that bill and more money stays with the foundation. U-Haul's location was good but their service was not. No one was ever rude. But the customer service just wasn't very good.

The company is behind in terms of how businesses is done. Communication is terrible but make sure you know there’s added fees. Lady at front desk is not very helpful and takes sweet time getting back from break knowing we just talked and I need assistance. I wouldn’t recommend anyone use uhal because there’s lot of miss communication that could lead to people losing valuable things. Need to work on being more connected so if I call one customer service line they should be able to redirect me to another without me reiterating my whole issue like it’s 2 different storage companies. I give you 2 stars because least storage unit was clean never had a light added

I went to do a move out and couldn’t due to the one elevator being broken. It was “no big deal” to them . They didn’t send out any notice and about it being out nor did they send out anything once it was repaired instead I had constantly call. They also tried to wrongly charge me $20 for gas with a Uhaul I rented …good thing I took a picture with where the gas hand was before I pulled out so I had a time stamped picture. This place is slack and unorganized . Use another storage facility and rent your Uhaul elsewhere. You’ve been warned

I rented the 7.5 x 10 ft. unit for almost two years! Always felt safe when accessing the facility. Having carts available to customers is a great service! This facility is always clean and safe. I rented my space for a long time, over 10 years I believe, with zero problems. The one thing that I wish had been considered when this facility was constructed is the access at the rear for my building (C). Vehicle access for my unit is limited to one lane because the additional space has rental spaces for vehicles. I wasn’t accessing my unit frequently but it felt like every time I needed to get to it there was always a truck or car parked in the road blocking the access to the elevator. Not only was the elevator access blocked but there was no way around the parked vehicle. This was a very minor inconvenience which would not cause me to refrain from recommending this facility or from re-renting the same unit that I used for 10+ years.

My belongings was in the storage since 2013. That is a long time to have a storage unit. I originally had two 10x10 units and downsized to one. During those times I was going thru a lot and almost lost the units but God didn’t allow it to happen. The prior management team under ASHLEY were a good group until they decided to break in 80 units on the back side C building. I was one of the units hit. I was very angry and wanted to move my stuff out of storage but I did not have any money to do so at the time. I was very hurt and I felt betrayed. The company got rid of Ashley and the whole group of workers that worked at the U-Haul under her leader ship. I was very happy to know that they did this. I was always afraid that they were going to try to do the same thing again. I like the new management now. The only complaint I have with them is knowing when they were in the office because often times they left a note on the door saying they were out on the premises and sometimes it was hard to reach someone. I received a 5 by 10 storage unit, 1 month free, with a 6 by 12 one way trailer. I couldn't fit everything from the trailer in the storage unit, because it was too small. The representative stated that the free unit was for the same size equipment, but how does 5 by 10 equal to 6 by 12?

The manager at this facility, Ms. Tarsha Lawrence has been very helpful and responsive the entire time I rented my storage unit. Indeed, I found the entire staff to be very willing and able to help, I was totally happy with my storage experience!

Our unit was temperature controlled and the facility was clean. However, it was always a tight fit to drive our car near to the building containing our unit. In addition, we emptied our unit and cancelled our unit but we still had 2 weeks of paid rent left on our unit. We were told we could not get a rebate for those two unused weeks of storage.

It would be nice if there were more moving carts available. We had to move something out of the storage unit and the carts were being used by others and we had to carry something heavy and awkward and had to use the stairs because others were loading the elevator and it was not acessible.
