LISA MThis truck is DANGEROUS! The brakes need to be looked at as well as the steering alignment and suspension. It took a lot of effort to keep this truck straight, in the lane when driving. This vehicle needs to be removed from the line-up and repaired asap! Good thing I went less than 20miles with this thing.

Vincent BI have rented from u-haul may times and this is, without a doubt, the best, cleanest and most organized location that I have rented from. I literally drive out of my way to use this location.

JUAN MI answered "NO" the recommendation question largely because of equipment rental cost. I rented the same 5'X9' trailer with ramp trailer in Newport News, VA to Gaithersburg, MD for $82.00, yet the reverse rental cost was nearly DOUBLE! It wasn't explained to me as to why the rental cost was increased as I'm left to discern this was market pricing, is it?
JON RThis has been my best experience renting a vehicle or trailer ever. The equipment was clean and accessible and there was employee assistance both in the delivery and return. A very friendly staff. Kiddos to them and management of that location for a great experience.

LEE FRight front headlight was out on the TM I rented, but the vehicle served me well for my need. Jonathan runs a good store and maintains it well. Showroom is clean and orderly and all trucks are parked neatly throughout the lot.
BRIAN CReservation was easy to make and pick up. Our truck was clean and in good shape but did smell faintly of cigarette smoke. We rented an auto tow as well. After getting the car on and ready to leave for our trip we noticed that one of the rear tires was extremely low. Filled it up without issues (no leak) but frustrating that the tow was given to us in that state. Added more time to our journey and could have been a safety issue if we didn’t catch it.

Patrick MThis is the second time renting from U-Haul, the store and employees are excellent. BUT the trucks need good working windshield wipers. This is a safety issue especially with drivers unfamiliar with these rental trucks.
PAUL KThe vehicle’s cabin was dirty - spills in the cupholder, trash under seats. The gas tak was impossible to fill- the hose on three different gas stations kept shutting off so each time I had the patience to pump a gallon or two max.

MICHAEL SThe staff at this location are always courteous and efficient. They seem to work well together which makes for a great customer experience. However, my rental window was 5pm-9pm and the truck I rented did not have functioning headlights. I had to drive in the dark terrified about being pulled over or not being seen on the road. Luckily my move was local but I couldn’t imagine what would happen if I had a long distance to travel. Dropping the truck off after hours was also a breeze. The Uhaul app made returning the truck very easy. I had a completed transaction report within 1 hour of the next business day. Overall very pleasant experience.
Dionne FThe lady there I felt racially profiled me by taking ok tires of my license on her personal IPhone. In the past she would look at it. And now it seems she’s taking the liberty to take pictures. I can’t shake the feeling it’s because she’s an Asian older woman and I am a Hispanic grown male. I let her know it seemed odd. Because I’ve come here and talked to her several times(she was always rude). But I don’t recall her taking pictures of my license with her personal iPhone(I am sure she’ll say otherwise). It just seemed odd. I felt I was also over priced for 3 days. I really used the vehicle for 2 days since the van was parked most of the time. Tank was full. And I used the van for no more than 15-40 minutes for a couple of rides to pick up some personal items. The van is in great shape. 300$ just for that seems unreasonable.

EMISHA BThe only thing I can think of is to have a person assist with loading and unloading of equipment (trailer in my case). I didn't need assistance but that is the only thing I can think of that would have added value to the experience. I am pleased that by returning equipment early I was not charged for the days in the contract but charged for days actually using the equipment.

SOMAYEH MHave used this location for over a decade because it's close but have historically experienced POOR customer service. Workers are slow and do not care about long lines or making customers wait. They are low energy and not friendly at all. Came here the other day for a 9' van. Plenty of new vans outside yet the woman went out of her way to give us an old van. Probably the oldest on the lot because it was parked in the corner with a large advertisement sign for can share that covered the full windshield. When she went past all of the keys to select the ones hung in the very back...I wondered why. Not sure how they make selection for equipment but can't help to think she racially profiled us. When we came back in to ask for a newer truck, she then gave us a new truck that was literally parked in front of a barrier and right space that would be hard to get out of. Luckily my husband is an amazing driver and her ploy to get back at us for requesting a new truck failed. Each of these employees hate their jobs...low energy, slow and rude for taking their slow time with everything while there's a long line. Self checkout and self service rental does not work either so why is it advertised prominently? Awful service for over a decade is crazy! Each time I go back, I am hoping it will be different but perhaps they bank on customers like me that keep enduring this and giving them business.
TREVOR FThe trailer is dirty with mud inside and out, the attendant made me attach the trailer to my car, even though I have no experience in attaching trailers, the trailer lights were not working properly, I went to another state with the trailer turned off because there were no lights, horrible service.

The only thing I would ask for next time is to walk through with the employees before pick up and not to just had keys to the customer to pick up the box vans on there own. Other than that all employees were very professional and polite thank you. I will be using this location in the future

CROMWELL CI do not recommend using uhual. This place was dirty I had to trash about 90% of my items due to being infested with mice and received poor service from the staff. They provided the bare minimum as far as help. They were rude and gave attitude while trying to find a solution.

There was tons of mice droppings everywhere and 1/2 of my shoes were chewed through as well as some of my sons belongings. I get it, mice come and go especially with the weather changes. However, it’s annoying as my items were destroyed being stored in it.

In addition, there was water damage to some of my belongings in the unit- the worst part is these are family photos so not something that can be monetarily replaced. Horribly overpriced! I was paying $100 a month for basically a closet. The SAME unit in Ohio I reserved for my daughter’s belongings only cost me $35/month. I know it depends on where you are, but triple the cost is absurd. I will not recommend and in fact will tell people to go anywhere else. The whole set up is a disaster.
Joanne G | Overall ExperienceI checked off 'No' for 'Was the facility clean and well maintained?'; however, I answered this thinking of the facility, itself. The store area was well-kept up and clean, the storage unit area was emptied out upon arrival and there was no trash lying around, in or outside. BUT, the film from the pest control spray was sticky and lined out several inches from the edge of the storage units doors. Also when moving things in and out of the storage units, people have to be very careful NOT to put items down in the area where the film of pest control spray is- as it not only sticks on the items but is also toxic to us. This film of sticky somewhat dried-up liquid was not easy to avoid. Also, when 'checking in' to the unit, I specifically asked if mice were in the units (after reading some of the reviews online). The U-Haul employee told me "NO, No, we don't have any mice here. We keep up on everything and don't have any." This employee tried to assure me further, by stating that the mouse traps are in each unit just because by law they have to be and then stated AGAIN that "We don't have any mice here." After just a few days of putting things in the unit, not only did we see a mouse droppings in the unit, but also we saw mouse droppings on the floor in the storage unit main area. Seems like it'd be best to tell the truth and be more professional by stating that all storage facilities probably have mice and it's just the area we are in (as an employee at ANOTHER storage facility later told me).

The facility was clean on the outside and in the halls/alley, it was convenient coz it had an elevator and the facility was air conditioned. The only downside we experienced was that there were lots of rat droppings in the storage unit assigned to us . Good thing we brought our broom, so we were able to sweep the droppings and clear the unit before we utilized it However, in less than a month that we had the storage, we found mice droppings again in our unit.luckily , we didn’t have any consumables among our stuff in the storage.

anne B | First ImpressionsOn move in day, there was only one cart available. It was a mattress cart. I needed something to put boxes on. The floor at the entrance wasn’t smooth. The floor seemed like it was missing a door jamb. There was an approximate 1 inch ledge I had to push the cart over to get inside. I was by myself and I wasn’t able to push the cart over the lip so I had to leave the cart inside and carry my stuff inside to the cart. I was not expecting it to be so difficult to unload the cargo van. It was full. I hope there is another loading dock for the building in the front. I can’t recommend this storage place after the nightmare experience I had on an over 90 degree day. The staff is very friendly and the showroom is impressive, so I was extremely disappointed about the hurdles I had to overcome justo get my stuff into the unit. It was very clean and I really appreciated the air conditioning.
BEVERLY B | First ImpressionsI thought it would be convenient being an outside storage but unfortunately that whole area is where vans are stored and near equipment returns so once I moved items in and it was always a task and time consuming to get trucks or vans out of the way in order to access my unit. There were times I had to park on the side and walk up because of overnight returns and even times where I just left because it would take about 30 min for them to clear my storage. Most of the staff were very helpful and pleasant especially Ms. Lee but i just think it’s a waste of time and bad business to have that area blocked 90% of the time but offer it to people.

You attempted to charge me 3X’s for a unit I had vacated and after repeated attempts of mine to correct YOUR mistake you THEN attempted to not only charge me for a rental I vacated but ADD a late charge. That could be construed as harassment and is illegal. It took me calling National HQ after a 1AM (1252 SUNDAY) email from you to correct the situation. I am still unsure of the status but have blocked you from my VISA acct. I will not be seeking anything but neither will I be recommending your particular facility to anyone. After this issue, I immediately removed everything and checked out to not deal with the hassle.

I cannot say whether or not the locker was clean since I have not been able to see it as explained above. Forcing me to answer these questions with a yea or no is making me provide a negative answer when it might not be correct so I can finish this survey.

It was VERY clean, always, with easy access, parking, and available carts for toting belongings from the unit to the loading dock. We moved, and that's the only reason I closed out my rental here.

Regena W | First ImpressionsMy only concern is that I went to the facility after reserving a non-air conditioned unit. When she asked me what did I want I said a non-air conditioned unit. The lady behind the counter then proceeded to give me what I now realize is an air conditioning unit. The items that I'm storing do not require air conditioning. She has therefore double the price of what I have to pay monthly which increases the chance that I might not be able to pay. I was trying to get a unit that I'm sure that I could afford every month. Why she decided to give me whatever unit she wanted confuses me. The reason I went to that facility is because I went to my U-Haul account first and checked locations where I can find a non-air conditioning unit on the first floor. I don't want to ride elevators so I wanted the first floor and I don't need air conditioning. The ad also said something about a month free which she first confirmed then later told me oh my manager says that only applies if you had a one-way U-Haul rental.

Had to leave the van overnight and came by the next morning at 9AM and had to wait for an hour because there was only one person helping the couple in front of me who was having some problems with the storage unit who eventually left to go to another storage facility. So I could finally unload the van into the storage unit and I missed a job that I had to be at on Monday morning because of this. I would like to get the 2nd month free because of the inconvenience.

BALMORY M | First ImpressionsThe U Haul staff was always friendly and helpful. Sometimes the lines were long but I believe they were trying to provide the best service to the customers. The storage facility was clean and spotless and carts were readily available. The area where people would leave their no-longer wanted items was promptly cleared out whether by U Haul staff or folks' new treasure. This U Haul facility is a pleasant place to store your items. Just be sure to swipe your card before opening your storage space to prevent the alarm from going off.

I followed up with him 3 or 4 times without a response. He still hasn’t responded to me. I had to email service@uhaul.com to get it credited to my account. Lastly, I was told by an employee staffing the office front desk that we had to access our storage units during office hours even though the posted access hours are outside office hours! Had they posted that information somewhere, that would have saved me a late night trip to the facility when I couldn’t access my unit!

ROBERT J | First ImpressionsWhile I’m happy with the service , I’m very disappointed that on my move in a employee car was blocking my unit , I went inside and wait 20 minutes to let someone know about it , later that day in the afternoon I came back and again a different car was there , and today Sunday 06/28 at 11:30 am I came back again and it’s blocked , I can’t be going to ask someone to move their car all the time I visit my unit , and I see plenty of parking space available , why ? Next time I won’t notify and if I damage a car I won’t take responsibility , please respect that no everyone has the time to wait until move their cars . Very bad if this is continue I will have to find another place to store my stuff .
Ever R | First ImpressionsWe had used UHAUL to store some items from our home temporarily while we had our house on the market. The 1st storage unit we had was at the back of the building and had a water leak. Thankfully, I had stuff in rubber tubs and nothing was damaged. However, UHAUL did not seem to care. I asked for a different unit and there were none available, so I suggested a larger unit for the same rate. The check in process and dealing with people working there is extremely SLOW. If you plan to go into the office, be prepared to wait or be in there for at least 30 minutes until you speak to someone. I would not use this facility again or recommend that anyone else does.
