I had to call the 1-800 number provided and wait on the line for a while to be told that they didn't prepare any trucks. They then told me they would give me a truck but i had to pay extra for a bigger truck that i didn't need or want. The truck wasn't even loaded with the proper equipment i needed and had reserved. But i was still charged for it
Haïm AThe connector to one of the chains was missing, so I brought a heavy duty pad lock to connect the chain to the car. I have to drive from NY to VA, so very hour we stopped and checked the chain. The pad lock could not hold the chain securely. So I purchase a additional lock to help to secure the first lock. When I stopped to check the chain both locks were gone so we took a bungee cord around the chain and connected it to the car and that worked the rest of the way, however, I was extremely nervous driving home.

Don't ask me for all the information that i entered into the app ( scanning back of license doesn't even work) when I get to the location or over the phone!! What a waste of time! 3. The kid atthe counter was high as kite , reeked like weed and didn't give a !@#$ about what I was saying. Staring at me glazed over and blank. 4. When I finally got my wife to rent a second truck the wheel on one truck was flat. So needed to have them switch it out for me. Yes. I know. HOW ANNOYING!?! HAVE A GOOD DAY!!
Yaakov BMy U-Haul helper was phenomenal Celeste from 20a Sheridan Blvd I reserved one room online and showed up maybe 10 minutes before closing and on top of that I was having issues completing the process wouldn’t accept my cards. Celeste was so patient so helpful and knowledgeable and comforting that I would recommend them to anyone. at this point in the day, there was no other options. Stores were closed, and I was in a diet situation that she patiently helped me out with.

Victor A | Overall ExperienceI arrived on the date of my scheduled rental 11/12/2024 at approximately 1 in the afternoon. No one greeted me but I put the vehicle under the equipment return canopy. I went inside to let whomever was working there know that I was returning the vehicle to that location and the employee working there confirmed with my key / TM number. She asked if the vehicle was under the canopy, was refueled at the required level, and was clean and I said yes to all. She said im all set and I’m good to go ; overall pleasant experience I THOUGHT. The following day I received a charge for returning the vehicle allegedly on “11/13/2024 at 9:45am” costing me an additional $40. $15 was for coverage which was fine; total $55. I didn’t go return the vehicle through the app because I figured with the business being open, confirming with a worker would be more efficient. I won’t be coming back or recommending to anyone. Such a shame. You should see some other reviews/videos of the business in this Inwood location

I reserved a 26FT truck out of Cumberland, RI going to Inwood, NY where I then rented two storage lockers. The gut in Cumberland was super nice and helpful but he was all alone & multi-tasking like crazy. The check in took 40 min! Why have a reservation is the check in would take so long?! That and the 4 people in line ahead of me. Then I get to Inwood and I kid you not the check in on two reservations took over 1hr!!! There too the staff was multitasking doing 3-4 other things. Returning the truck took 20min. The 1st of the month and end of the month you need more bodies at counter! I am not in your line of work and even I can see this! Such a complete waste of valuable time!

Issues 1)there is a thermometer on the wall indicating temperature and claiming place was temperature controlled- but it was consistently hotter than should've been in the summer and colder in the winter. 2) Also the continual increasing of price for same storage unit Ithink is unfair- people have storage units bc nowhere else to put things, so getting the mailings of an increase in price doesn't leave the customer with many realistic options. The frequent price increases were a significant factor in my emptying out the storage unit as soon as I possibly could.

That unit was all the way in the back, I got lost trying to find it, the directions to units are not clear enough. I eventually came upon a gentleman who was working in an enclosed area who helped me out. The general manager is very professional and pleasant, though. But she might want to see how to make it easier for customers to get to their units easier and quicker.

Access hours are extremely limited compared to other places (unless you pay extra). I called the office and I just heard the phone ring. I called the store manager Ms. Cleopatra Jones-Brown at 516.239.6374 and no answer. Her business card has her cell phone so I called it at 347.832.7237 and she still did not answer. I texted her and she still did not answer. By the time someone came the store had approximately 8 people waiting for service. This final day was horrible and unacceptable. You cannot leave you door open and then when customers come in there is no one to take care of them. Also don't put you cell phone on your business card if you are not going to answer the calls. If you open your doors THEN STAFF YOUR FACILTIY ACCORDINGLY.

Negative vibes and I still proceeded w purchase. Yonkers rep took time to take me to actual storage space,she didn't care. Im aware of uhaul cards sometimes not working properly gave me a used card w back stripe very worn, told me it was brand new,could not activate it. So i suggested to try another card she said no.yonkers rep tried 2 cards before giving me one thats works. felt uncomfortable taking card that didn't work. Once we got to the back we needed guidance she refused. At this point my wife said cancel but I still proceeded to the back. Once I got there, the stairs and narrow walkway was not gonna work for me which I for warned her if pillar or anything inconvenient would make me not proceed w me paying i would refund. I WAS A LAYDOWN EASY PURCHASE.! If she took the time be professional, courteous, friendly i would still have took it. But the disappointment, anger n frustration w her push me to cancel and give my business in another storage in valley stream. I didnt ask for free storage i paid for mine. didnt deserve this treatment. There's more but I'm done. Asked to speak to manager she said no. When I came back in to give her me receipt for refund. She didn't want to, ask her coworker to do HER the favor . Rep name Tameka proceeded w my refund. She was friendly and helped HER out to help me out. Appreciated that!. Money hasn't hit my card yet . Ms. Cleo please call me 7184338069 to follow up about refund sorry it did not work out..

Devon S | Overall ExperienceThe quality and maintenance of the units on the upper level that we rented is very different from that on the lower level (we have friends who rent ground floor units). The upper level is unprotected (no ceiling other than a type of chicken wire) and exposed to vermin (many traps and poison packets in view). There was also difficulty with the key card as well accessing the building after hours. The lobby/sales area is very clean and well maintained. The staff is also stellar. They’re professional, friendly, polite and helpful. They make all the difference.
