Someone cut the locks off my storage .. they were apologetic .. and was compensated nothing was taken .. but not sure when alarm went off no one was notified not even myself .. so I guess you should figure out that need to call someone right away I happen to show up next day .. they were very nice and I hope this don’t happen in future .. thank you for all your hep ..

The store was neat, clean and organized and the management and staff worked efficiently. We were surprised there wasn't a folding foot on the tongue of the trailer. It would've been most helpful to the petite staff in hooking it up.

They made me feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. The truck had blue tape on both sides of the windshield. Traveling in tornado weather, I found out it leaked. Picking up the u box in Springfield, Missouri was just as bad. Not only did the pins not hold the leg up(passenger side didn't have a leg)and i'm shooting sparks down the road, but the people inside there did not want to help me and gave me the raggediest trailer to pull the u box on. Pictures were taken and submitted . This was the worst experience i've ever had with uhaul and my very first experience pulling a load share.

The fact that I didn’t drive but two miles and was charged for 11 miles, is crazy. The same thing happened last time I used a U-Haul from this place. Joplin MO isn’t even 11 miles wide. Idk if this place is trying to meet a quota or something, and it’s not like it cost me a fortune for the extra miles the tacked on. But it’s still wrong to charge customers for miles they didn’t use. Thanks!

When I returned the trailer they said they checked it in but the next day I get an email saying I haven’t returned the trailer. I call the local store I got it from she said oh yes it was checked in. So we called corporate and they never checked it in til the next day when I had called at 8:45 am… so no I would not recommend.

My reservation was to b returned at 7:30 pm and the store closes at 7pm which I was unaware of. I showed up to return the trailer to find out store was closed. Employee was still in the parking lot when I pulled in and rushed to get in his car when he seen us. It would have been nice for the employee who checked us out the night before to mention that since we were to return trailer after hours I needed to do it through the app. At least I would have been more prepared. Customer service definitely lacking at this location.

Honestly you needa figure out this miles thing. They have me 89 miles to get to my new house. From where I got U-Haul and back to my place in spring 8 miles to Joplin was 78 that’s 86 miles. The storage unit wasn’t even where I drop off U-Haul. Makes no sense idk don’t think you should’ve these third party companies. But U-Haul had broken mirror which is. Cool and all but really a simple cheap fix kinda tacky having a nice U-Haul with broken mirror.

Better maintain the equipment The driver side turn signal/brake light did not work. The door was super super hard to get up and down that U-Haul definitely needs to be serviced was not pleased at all with the equipment I was rented for $42 bucks have rented from this location several times and normally am pleased, but this time was a disappointment for sure

I went in to rent a truck that advertises for $19.95 after everything was done it was over $100.00 for a few hours . All the extra fees are not included with the advertising.if I didn’t need it that day I most definitely would not have rented it

The actual location experience was as expected. No issues. It is run down and the lot itself seems a bit disorganized. The lady who helped me was absolutely top notch, however. As for doing the truck and moving supply reservation online....that was a whole 'nother issue. Very bad experience. It took several calls and several days to get everything straightened out where I could pick up the truck and the moving supplies at the same place. Glad I was not in a rush and had 2 weeks to plan.

I was given a U-Haul with a hazard light on. I was told that it was the tire pressure air sensor and that there was no issue with the tire itself. I was assured by “Kat V” that if any issue happened to call them and she highlighted their number and she said even if one of them had to come to me locally or close by they would if I had any issues. When I went to return it the next day the tire was low and the error message was flashing. I called and they put her on the phone and she said they can’t help me and they don’t come out as if she had not said what she said the day before. Never again!!!!!

Alarm rarely works right. People look like they are strung out on some narcotic. Door never worked right and had to be propped open. Don't use this place.

The experience was great. Check in and return. The only complaint I have is that I was not told at check-in that I would receive a link via text prompting me to take and submit photos of the exterior of the truck. As a result I did not notice the text until much later and the link had already expired. It did have some previous damage and it made me nervous about returning it and not having taken photos prior to driving it off the parking lot.

Sherry is the reason I come to this Uhaul location. I've rented a couple of trucks from her in the last couple of weeks and she totally gets it. When she's in control, things move fast and I get taken care of. I had a couple of small issues with my last rental and she didn't try and fight the situation. She took control and made things happen to take care of me. I spend money with Uhaul because of Sherry.

The entire facility is filthy and smells strongly of mold. In fact, we could smell the mold as we approached the loading doors outside. The unit we were assigned had stains, a rodent trap, and a very odd odor throughout. We checked in, and promptly checked out because there is no way to safely store anything there.

They charged me almost double what they agreed to charge me due to them originally assigning me a unit that was already taken. Almost $150 a month when they assured me it would only be $65 a month. They continued to be unhelpful when I tried to work with them on fixing it, and then they consistently did not answer the phone when I attempted to arrange a time to collect my belongings before they were auctioned.

My complaints: When I arrived after 2 day trip with all my belongings, I was assigned a storage near an exit for bringing things inside. I am 68 yrs & was helping, so being close to trailer was necessary. When attendant walked us to our unit #1008, it was empty but someone had left lock on & you could only open it half way. So attendant walked back to office to find another unit. However, this unit was VERY far from an exit! He said he could go back through the long maze of units & return to the office to find us a closer one but he was working alone & that would be a problem. So we took the unit. But then my chosen code would not let us access either the facility or the unit. So back & forth we went from back of building to office trying to get help to get in. Sadly, they were unable to fix the problem. So we had to prop open outside door with my box of belongings. The sliding door continually tried to close over & over the hours we were there. It was very hot & humid outside. The attendant informed us this had never happened before. But I would be unable to enter the unit bldg or my storage unit until it was fixed by the boxes mounted on outside of bldg. So until fixed I must go during office hours & get attendant to let me in. Although the young man(attendant) was very kind & truly sorry, I think he felt overwhelmed by the situation & I think UHAUL was understaffed at this facility to attend to the customers needs. This definitely needs to be corrected so things run far more smoothly for your paying customers. I even started crying because I was emotionally and physically exhausted & just needed to get the work done. Other than that, my experience with UHAUL was fairly uneventful & hopefully the boxes mounted outside for me to gain entry will be fixed. I have a ton of things to address here because I moved here from NE Iowa, including finding a place to live as I am currently staying with family. Thankyou for your time in letting me explain the situation.

Moving can be very chaotic and this move definitely was, former roommate was not reliable and kept changing time to meet, when truck was rented at time she said to come, well it wasn’t convenient for her and delayed pick up 4 hours on us. Ran into a bad storm and the truck leak a little. Nothing ruined but things a little wet. Had to replace the driver windshield wiper as it fell off just before I ran into the big rain. Joplin store refunded the cost of the wiper. Would still recommend U haul to family and friends. Over all a good trip for 1300 miles

I reserved my storage space online. Three days later, I went to Uhaul @Joplin to check in and from desk representative helped me with the process. They assigned me a storage space inside and key to the facility. When went back and checked, to my surprise, I recognized that the space assigned to me was already occupied. I came back and informed the front desk representative. Then they went back and checked, and told me that this space is occupied and they cannot help. Also, they told they don’t have any storage spaces available. After spending 1.5 h in this office, l left handed and staff’s are do not even bothered to find me an alternate space. After coming back home, I wrote an email to the manager explaining the situation and no response yet (after three days I am writing this). This describes how good/bad this business is for you.

I’m actually on the fence as what to put for number 6. There was 3 homeless people that were in the process of getting asked to leave the premise bc of living in a unit. They knew a certain passcode that allowed them access in and out as they pleased. Made my wife and I very uncomfortable having 3 people practically standing around, watching us for an hour get items from our rental truck to inside the storage unit. We called the front desk, they came back and checked on us but that was about it. We rented 2-26’ trucks and 2 climate controlled units in a 2 week span- probably spent close to $2,500. On the 2nd truck (which I had to go to 3 locations to get everything), the rental truck was returned technically later than they expected. Even though we were unloading the truck on site, we didn’t turn it in about 3 hours late. Because of that, they charged me another whole day of rental. I called both the store and the 800 number and both ‘passed the buck’, saying there was nothing that could be done. I’m in customer service and know that is not how you deal with a customer who just spent a few thousand dollars from your brand or establishment.

When I arrived yesterday the girl behind the counter was not helpful, very short in time with me and rude. I went to start unloading my car and the police where there, fire department, and EMT to assist a no responsive man. As I headed to my unit there was a woman who looked like she had been beaten. I heard a dog in a unit somewhere in the facility. It was scary to be back there alone. I was never offered an upgrade when I said the 5 by 10' was too small. Needless to say I'm not happy.

Reserved unit was not available upon arriving at location. Staff stated there were no units available and unsure why I was able to reserve a unit on line or over the phone the day before. A staff member walked the entire facility and stated if I was willing to wait a couple hours one may be available as there was a previous tenant moving out. I received a call a few hours later stating there was an open unit and I would have first priority to it. Staff handled the situation very well. My next issues deals with pricing of moving items at location. Prices on labels do not match what they ring up as. I’ve questioned this multiple times and even taken pictures showing that there is inaccurate pricing on the labels and shelves. I have never been offered an adjustment even when I have directly asked for it. I am just told that prices vary which is very, this is extremely frustrating expecting to pay one thing when it’s really 3-6$ more per item.

The space in front of my unit was dark and there was no light inside the unit. We moved units once to have a bigger space and during the moving, the employee gave false information and the unit was occupied. So, we moved to another one and the employee had to move a mini fridge that was being stored. After we were in, the next visit the access card did not work and had to get them reassigned to the right unit. These are all issues that were solved and not a huge deal, but the biggest problem was the dimly lit storage unit and hallway. I had to go to this unit often by myself, a woman, and I never felt comfortable or safe. We moved to a new location that works better for us, but I would suggest making sure everything is well lit in the future.

We really had a bad time at this place. First of all, the homeless and weird people in and around the units always had us a little on edge. Then we just had issues with the lock being put on when we were paid up, them not having a unit on auto-pay.. one time we went in and someone cut the power and we were stuck in the bay.. umm, i had a card that was about to expire so they cut it off and charged me a late fee... umm there's more... it was non-stop at this storage facility. We have never been more happy to be out of a unit. It was worth taking a day to move it to another.

When I made my uhaul reservations, I chose this location because of availability for a 10x10 climate controlled storage space but upon arrival there were none available and so our belongings are in an outdoor storage unit instead and it’s very frustrating. I p did not find the billing system to be above very poor. Originally set up as auto pay. Didn't accept payment. Got call late and charged $20. Paid that bill on line 1 week later collection called again and charged another $30 and raised my rate from 75 to 129/month. PAIID AGAIN!!!! Called to dispute, Manage was suppose to call me. No call 4 days later. NExt step dispute charges. Wait don't forget the UHAUL 250 charge for >?????????

Not only did you make me believe my belongings were safe and secure, you lead me to believe I had piece of mind. Both the afore mentioned comments are false. My whole family stored our belongings in a u-haul facility, and because we made this mistake we are left with nothing. Every single item was stolen in broad daylight, while your employees watched. I have the only key card, part of your top notch security, yet somehow it was bypassed and intruders gained entry to my unit. I purchased my keys from you, yet other people had the same keys. The video recording obviously was not functioning because if it had been, this would have been resolved already. So, in conclusion, my experience with u-haul was the nightmare i wake up to daily. Precious belongings that can never be replaced have vanished and your doing nothing. I have waited for over three weeks for a response and so far, other than the general manager of the joplin 7th Street location next to wal mart, accusing me of stealing my own things and being anything but helpful I have not heard or seen anything to facilitate or remedy this horrendous tragedy. I give this company a negative rating. Less than zero.

I rented a climate controlled storage unit and when I showed up I was told it wasn't a guarantee and wasn't available. I had even called after reserving the unit and was told it would be available. Having a reservation number and email telling me I have a unit, but showing up and it not being available is a horrible way to do business. We will never reserve storage space with Uhaul again if this is how you operate.

When I was moving my stuff in. There was a couple hanging out in or in front of their unit in the hallway. I was on my way back out to get another load when I came around the corner, I startled the couple & the smell of paint about knocked me out. I couldn't get outside to the fresh air quick enough before I thought I would choke to death. Since this facility is supposed to be monitored 24 hours a day 7 days a week that behaviour was very upsetting cause they are not only putting their life endanger they also put mine as well. And they werent the only people I saw or definately could smell what they were doing either. Not sure if I will keep my belongings in this facility very long. But it helped in my time of need at the moment.

For over three weeks one of the two bay doors to pull in and unload has been broken did talk to front desk with no results. Asked for a specific locker number because it was close to the loading area and was moving big heavy furniture without much help and was told it was rented and for a month no one ever moved into the locker you can tell by the tag on the door. Went to rent a truck and was told none are available when the lot was literally full of trucks. It seems like staff is honestly just lazy. Will never rent a storage unit here again.

There were no carts or dollies to help with moving my tubs and boxes. This made to process quite difficult as I had to make many many trips to place my things in storage. I received no instruction on how to use the entry card. Luckily another renter was coming out and gave me a lesson.

Storage unit had many bugs inside and mice droppings/urine. We did not have any food items stored in the unit. When asked, management said it was our problem. Recently, we were notified that during an inspection they found that our unit no longer had a lock on it. They said they would place a lock on it and that we needed to visit the office the next time we were in to get it unlocked. When we visited the office they did not have a key. No one had actually secured the unit. The worker also informed me that there was no way anyone could actually cut my lock off without ruining their door (it was a special storage unit lock, circular, and a combination lock). It is a mystery how it disappeared, but did not make me feel very safe. Fortunately, we did not see any missing items.

I was forced to pay for the whole month of a storage unit when I used only 14 days of the month. When I originally paid for the month(because they don't offer weekly rates) they said i wold be prorated and refunded the excess since I wouldn't be using the whole month. I moved out. Didnt get any money back then was told it was too bad. My loss. When they can rent the unit for the remainder of the 2 weeks and still have the money I paid for those 2 weeks. Its really crappy and ridiculous that Uhaul can double rent basically.

The experience was very nice and professional, the facility is new and nice. The extra charge for the 24hr access is the only thing that through me in a loop for inside storage.
