I paid more for a 6x12 trailer than what I did for a 26 foot truck tental. That's ridiculous. $600 to he exact. Ive rented many times but this has been the worst on value and the fact I got whip lash every time I slowed down with the trailer because of its breaks catching so hard. They should refund me part of my money for all 9f this. Not sure if ill rent fro. Them again

Information given to customers isnt accurate. You get threatened with additional charge even though the policy doesnt list them. I would recommend booking through the call centre where you will actually receive correct booking details. Also the app is dysfunctional causing delays, removing Information and not allowing you resubmit information it erased. (Which will result in additional charges if you use self serve returns) 5/10

For the first time I booked my UHAL truck online and choose to pick it up through the app. But while I was not familiar with the service I was expecting some sort of assistance which was not very good. It was like you choose to do it with your phone so go for it.

Make it easier for online pick up. I couldn't find a way to get the keys and had to go to the office to seek help. Apparently the office doesn't get paid to help me if I chose using the App to pick up. The gentlemen was kind enough to assist me.

Pick up was flawless. Excellent staff both inside and out who made the experience move along nicely. A quick upgrade to a larger trailer was greatly appreciated and handled seamlessly. Well done to the entire team at this location.

Everything was great with this rental. Only issue I had was that the U-Haul system/app didn’t work well. When it was time to take photos of the vehicle, I couldn’t get it to work and had to get an employee to take photos. Otherwise, the process and service was great!

The sign out process was so incredibly slow. The line was long resulting in quite a wait, and there seemed to be only one confident, competent customer service person at the desk to help rent equipment. Maybe the person that was helping me was in training, but overall, I was at U-Haul for 45 minutes for one dolly. Tlme is essential on moving days.

There are signs for drop-off which I followed. I went through the instructions on the U-Haul app to drop off the trailer. Just as I was about to leave an attendant came running over and asked which spot on the lot I picked up the trailer as he wanted me to return it there. I informed him that I picked up the trailer in another province. He seemed slightly annoyed that I had left the trailer where I had (right at the equipment drop-off sign). Perhaps there needs to be better signage at this location if the drop-off spot was incorrect?

The manager informed us someone could cut a lock for us. Then the day of our move, the assistant manager said this wasn't possible. The manager gave us a price of $75.00 to remove lock. The assistant manager ignored multiple calls from us, from the central u haul agents. No one would communicate this. We had to reschedule a move, our parents drove 1hr to and from because we are in another province. The facility out a secondary lock, knew we had a move out and did not inform us. We called made arrangements to pay balance, not once did the manager mention this to us. I also prior to this visit booked a car hauler from this location, it was literally broken, u hauls solution was to drive over an hour to get one. This caused me to suffer financially due to being unable to transport my car with my suv to Alberta. Recommend your store, I will use every ounce of extra energy to warn people of this location and its blatant inability to be honest and easy to deal with, with broken equipment and horrible workers. I have never in my life dealt with any such business in such disarray. I have a business diploma and well, this location needs a change in management, or at the very least honesty training and proper customer relations course. Despicable.

My check-in experience was a little confusing. The employee that helped was extremely polite and professional, but unfortunately he didn’t know answers to many of my questions. I didn’t know where my vehicle was and I was walking around the lot a little aimlessly when it was stressful day with tight timelines. Again, super polite and professional but just required some more training I believe. Overall great experience!

Due to the stress that comes from moving, the fact that I would have had to go get my U-Haul truck 80km out of Ottawa and 2 days before my move. Next time, I need a truck I will go with the competition. I didn't like the lack of customer service and the way I was treated over the phone by 2 associates. Frank location was ok but then I was sent to go look around by myself in the parking to find the truck. That took me 10minutes therefore missed the take pictures of mileage and condition messages. I wanted a appliances dolly which I didn't get. I will not recommend your company. I had good experiences with uhaul before which is why I had reserved a truck. Something needs to change about the reservation. If people reserve at a location that they can pickup at that location.

While the location itself was a 5/5, and the self-serve process to access the truck was easy, the hidden fees and unclear receipt is a letdown. I will caution anyone to rent with U-Haul to be wary of these setbacks.

There was signage to stop and wait, but Noone came out to help. It was pouring rain and I was unable to take pictures. After talking with the guy inside he said don't worry about the picture. The app lied and said I filled it with less fuel than it started with, but I have photo evidence that is not true so I will be rejecting any other fees.

The young woman who checked me in was fantastic. She is so quick and easy to deal with. You have a fantastic employee in her, as I am quite certain you already know. Also, the Congolese man who helped me out in the parking lot was also excellent.

We originally booked at 15 Campbell Reid Ct, Kanata, ON K2K 1X7 And no one was there. I called the number on the gate and the manager said she would be back in an hour. No good enough. The people in the same building who run a garage rolled their eyes in a way where it was obvious that the Uhaul there has been an issue in the past. Why are these people allowed to operate a Uhaul if there are serious issues, and ongoing ones? I called Uhaul and they rebooked us at another location. It was very well run. Picking it up was flawless and the return was a breeze- AS IT SHOULD BE. The Uhaul regional guy shot us a refund for our trouble, so assuming it goes through, that was the decent thing for them to do… they made a genuine effort to make it right and it is appreciated. I will still use Uhaul in the future and book directly with the guys at 30 Frank Nighbor Pl, Ottawa, ON K2V 1B9 (Kanata)

Have the fuel tank full. It is less hassle to return the rental with a full tank rather than guessing if I put enough fuel in the tank.

I had originally rented just a trailer and I was using my own vehicle to tow it. Unfortunately the lighting hook up for the trailer was not functioning correctly. I understood that it could be replaced, but that the u-Haul location did not have a replacement did not have a replacement unit on site and that I would have to wait a day or two for one. Unfortunately, I did not have the extra time and ended up needing to rent something else. I was required to transport some material from Ottawa to Cornwall for an estate that I am taking care of. My original thought was that by using my own vehicle and small trailer. I could get everything done for approximately $200 but that did not work out. I was required to rent a trailer and a truck to tow it. The final cost was $590.00, certainly a substantial difference.

My car takes 7 pin and you trailer requires 4 pin connector. The customer service employee let me use theirs and I did not have to buy something which I did not need for long term. I appreciate their help and they being courteous towards their customer. I had a problem and they came up with a solution. Great service!!

The app can be misleading indicating equipment is available at a specific location only to be followed up with a phone call stating it is not. It would also be helpful to have trailers available at some more rural locations.

The move in was actually good. But there were many units open and available yet I was put allllll the way into a corner. Customer service have me a smaller unit that what I really needed. The front desk gave me a better suited unit, but again. It was in the corner. Neither convenient for what was actually available

This is the best U-Haul I have ever worked with, they rate excellent in all areas. I attribute the efficiency, helpfulness, cleanliness and overall great experience to the skills of the Manager Mir. He runs a great shop! I tell everyone how great it is here! Job well done with this team. The staff are so friendly and work hard, and are committed to customer service. Even the cleaning lady Kiffany is great.

The Manager Mir and his staff are working exceptional. I use a lot of storage facilities and have used U-Haul for years but this place it a ten in every area. Cleanliness including the bathrooms in 10/10. Friendliness so helpful. It really is the best U-Haul I have ever worked with and I think that comes from the Manager Mir, and shows in his staff, Sijo, William, Kyle and a few others whose names I don’t know are all individuals I would hire in a second. I tell everyone how great it is there. Great team, when Mir was away Sijo did a good job keeping things going. I can always trust what Mir tells me he knows the fine details of his business inside and out!

The staff, especially the GM Mirwais, were outstanding in terms of service & support. We were moving all of our possessions from Toronto, storing them in the U-Haul Kanata facility which had just opened until we were able to buy a new home up the Ottawa Valley in the Arnprior area. As it turned out it took us almost 4 months before we were in a position to finally move everything to the new home. Given the distance, coordinating the moves in & out, insurance etc. Mirwais and his staff were always there to help. Our only negative, was on the corporate side of things - as it turned out we moved out on the 8th of the month with our monthly renewal day at the end of the month, so we ending up having to pay for 3/4 of a month that we didn't need. Unfortunately, U-Haul doesn't pro-rate the last month. And considering we were paying a significant amount of money per month for rental of two 10x20 units plus insurance, it was a big hit. All that said, were couldn't have been more happy with the local staff that looked after us!

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, which was very appreciated after a long road trip to move our belongings! In particular, the manager, Mir, made us feel very welcome and was very helpful with all our questions. The facilities are very clean and brightly lit. Small things made a difference during our unloading, like the availability of water fountains when we got thirsty. We also loved the fact that there was a spot to donate your good condition empty boxes for reuse by others at the facility, and designated areas to dispose of garbage or recycle cardboard (from boxes that were beyond reuse). We also liked that we could return our U-Haul truck at the same facility as where we unloaded our belongings.

The general manger, Mir Wardak at this Kanata location should be replaced by a more professional and competent individual. I would give 0 stars and a F for customer service and satisfaction!! My wife and I were greeted with disrespect and disgrace whilst speaking to one of the other employees about possibly renting a storage unit at this location. We initially came in a week prior to find out about the units and noticed that the sign in the example units within the store had different prices for the same unit. Upon asking why there were two different prices, none of the staff were able to answer. The manager overhearing our conversation even seemed to be alarmed to why I was asking a question and proceeded to belittle me. I then proceeded to tell my wife to leave the premises and we would book online so we wouldn’t have to deal with that person. We thanked them for their time and left calmly. We then booked online a unit that was listed as the last unit. Fast forward to this weekend of the scheduled move in. We were met by Josh again, the same employee we dealt with the week before. My wife and I were the only customers in the store and Josh was happy to assist us. I proceeded to produce my reservation on the U-Haul app but for some reason Josh was unable to find it but apparently he did not realize that it was for a storage unit. There were a handful of customers behind us now at this point, and the manager kept hovering over Josh to move him along hastily to attend to other customers. We found this extremely disturbing and disgusting especially the way he spoke to his own employee in front of us. Josh ended up making so many mistakes as he also seemed to be deeply disturbed by this man. On the final contract he printed and assigned the wrong unit number. The email address was incorrect on the contract. Then their Point of Sale machine was not capturing the transaction properly and looking back at my transaction history I saw that I was charged three times but the on the customer said of the POS it was saying payment not captured. This is another issue all by itself and I will follow up with the banking institution that correct charges were placed in the coming week. We were finally able to get a storage unit one that I didn’t even book because in the U-haul app it says one is pending for move in and one is active. We also rented a 10’ truck for the day and left the premises. We proceeded to load up the truck at our residence and came back to the U-Haul location in Kanata. On the drive back I noticed the parking brake light kept flashing intermittently but was fully disengaged, which is very unusual and dangerous. I drove into the parking and went over to customer service to verify the storage location and to verify where we should unload etc. I was met by a different employee at this time and I was the only customer in the store. He happily escorted me to his Point of Sale machine and then upon overhearing our conversation the manager quickly made his way over to us and told the other employee that he will handle it. I greeted him again and I told him that I wanted to verify our unit before we began moving stuff in and to verify where we should be unloading. Upon realizing the mistake Josh made in assigning the unit he made a comment saying ”This is what happens when you take too long with a customer.”Of course this a nonsensical statement especially to a customer and his unprofessionalism showed through and through and after he rushed his own employee through the transaction. He then warned me that if I put my stuff in the wrong unit the lock would be cut and my things would be removed. I verified the unit again and proceeded to go back to the truck to enter the bay for unloading. My wife and I were the only ones in this section unloading and after I made a few trips. I saw another truck enter the other bay. An older gentleman proceeded to ask me if I worked there because he doesn’t know where his unit was. I said no but I will still help you find your unit. Which I did and then went back to my truck to finish unloading. After I took out the last few boxes I ensured the truck was locked and went back to take the boxes to the unit. The manager then came up to us whilst we were packing the last few things into the storage unit from the dolly to tell us that our truck has nothing in it?and to move it and that there were other customers waiting to use the bay. I proceeded to put the last few boxes quickly into my unit and go back to the truck only to realize that all the other bays were empty and no one was waiting. I returned the truck back into its location and cleaned it and left it better than when we had initially rented it. I proceeded to give the keys to a different employee at customer service and he asked if had any issues and if I put gas. I mentioned the intermittent flashing parking break light and that I did in fact fill up gas to which he said he did not need a receipt as proof and I left.
