Vehicles were always parked in front of the gate access pad so you couldn’t get to it you had to park your vehicle punch in your code and then you get it through the gate 90% of the time the gate was left wide-open anybody could go in it’s a huge mess, construction stuff, and garbage everywhere for the last three years

MICHAEL MThe customer service was terrible. They just pointed in a general direction as to where the vehicle was, they did not come out and show us where it was located. It turns out it was behind two rows of storage lockers and could not be seen from the general parking lot area. You would think they would bring it out front for you not make you go on a hunt for it and walk half a kilometer to find your rented vehicle.

Douglas JI wouldn’t recommend U-Haul to an enemy. You’ve lost the plot. Dealing with U-Haul is a soul crushing experience. You have absolutely zero care about customer happiness. I’d love to speak to your CEO and share some wisdom but this survey will likely be ignored. I’d expect nothing less.
DOUGLAS Wrecommend simple trailer maintenance. I lubricated all moving parts. All bone dry. -tongue jack -Front wheel ratchet straps. -drivers tilting fender -pull out ramp rollers. -repaired bent passenger fender result from significant downward force impact.... -adjusted bent trailer plate for better visibility. All done in care and concern to avoid DOT scrutiny..... over all, I wish I owned a U-haul car trailer.
TIMOTHY DThe truck’s deck and ramp were extremely greasy and very slippery, which made the move slower and more dangerous. No other complaints, employee interactions were good and pickup and drop off were easy.

AMANDA SSaturday morning 9am line up was long but the staff processed customers quickly. I originally requested a 9am pick up at another location for a 9ft Cargo Van which was confirmed by the person I spoke with at ATM, and arranged my move around that. Then I got an email saying my 9ft Cargo Van will be available at noon at another location...I was irritated by this, maybe enough that I will find equipment elsewhere next time. The staff on site were great, they did nothing wrong.

HUSSEIN YI reserved the uhaul for 24/7 truckshare early morning. When i went to pickup cargo van. I found out truck hasn’t been assigned. My whole schedule was messed up. I got van 2.5 hours late when store was opened . Very bad experience. No one even cared to inform me that van is not assigned.

More staff at location needed , we are now doing all the work including photos of all angles of the truck and the odometer reading .. Paying even more than before with no customer service .. Very disappointing will not use U haul again ..

DANIEL CWhile in the process today of renting a vehicle, the U-Haul sales rep asked me for an estimated kilometer for my trip. I specifically said to the rep that it was 44 km. However, that is not what the rep logged in the computer. The rep logged in 22 km and gave me an estimate for that instead and didn't clarify that with me. So in my mind I thought I was going to pay very close to what the the original estimate was. When I returned the truck within a couple of hours, I'm told that my total is roughly about $26 more than what I had originally been told. This whole situation could have been avoided had the rep given me the estimate for the kilometers I had provided initially.

James TThe equipment was maintained enough, though it didn’t seem to be wired to let me set the bake assist on the trailer. Lights all worked but kept getting an error message that the trailer “wasn’t hooked up” when I tried to set the brakes. Also, it hadn’t been swept out from the last travellers who had it. So that was annoying. Otherwise, staff were helpful and efficient.

I had to start the verify equipment process about 6 times - I would take one of the required pictures and then I kept getting bumped back to the start of the process Twice the whole app screen went black and wouldn’t respond and I had to close the app and start again The manager was great today He took the time and listened to my concerns about the app And Simar is always great! She works very hard and is professional, competent and helpful
Tracy VI never had a problem with the location customer service. The problem I have is the odometer reading was different than what was on my pku receipt and now I'm being billed for a gas fee when I have a dispute in pricess and haven't heard back.
CHADWICK DThe advertised price was $29.95 per day for my rental and I agreed to the insurance. This however turned into an $86 rental plus insurance? I didn't want a one-way rental and assumed what I signed up for online would be honored in store. Moving is a stressful time, when you make arrangements in advance it's poor customer experience to change the rental agreement when on site. I used the truck for less than 24 hours and for 20.1 Miles. At $1.09 per KM the rental should have been $65.21. I know it's $18.79 difference but it's the poor practice to change agreements on customers. The store was well organized and I did purchase boxes to make the move easier, if the agreement I entered online stuck I would have been satisfied with the service. Changing the agreement to make more money or assuming I would use more mileage is poor practice.

servando gOn the 27th of February there was one person working behind the till trying to service people. The end of the month is your busy time. You need to employ more staff. And, no I do not need your app on my phone for a simple rental. There were 6 people in the queue. It took me 40 minutes to get my pick-up. The van had a quarter tank of gas to start with and I asked if it was enough to get me to Vancouver and back to Langley. They didn't know. Why give someone a quarter of a tank of gas when they are going out of the city, this was wrong. They also had no clue how much $10 worth of gas would give me. Then they started talking in miles. When I asked them to use kilometres, I was told it was an "American" company. Fine, if you want to operate in Canada, use metric, I was not the only customer who said this. I was told to go outside and someone would help me. That person who was there to "help" me was on his phone, playing video games, watching tick-tok or whatever. He was no help, so I found my truck stumbled around confused trying to take pictures on my phone for 10 minutes to send to your website and then left. I guess tick-tok is more important than your customers. I had a better experience dropping it off, there was an employee who was just leaving, and he was able to help me as I did not know how to do a proper drop off. So hats off to him. I'm sure you'll fire him for doing a good job above and beyond what was asked of him. This is the second time this year I've used this location to rent a vehicle. I don't mind giving a second chance, but the service was rotten both times for pick up, there is no third chance. I will never use U-haul again and will be sure to tell people about my rotten experiences using U-haul.

CHRISTOPHER HOur unit, TM 2294G, needs loads or work or take it off the road! It needed to be jump started twice! The battery needs to be replaced NOW. We had to jump start at our point of departure. We were lucky it started at the ferry terminal but there was hesitation during that start. The same with getting off the ferry. After that we did not turn the vehicle off during the day as there would be no one else around to help jump start it. After driving all day (with the idea that this could keep the battery charged), we came home, off loaded our stuff and the engine was off for 15 mins. It almost did not start AGAIN, in order to get it back to y9ur facility. The defrost / defog settings do not work. The cab was continually getting fogged up and we had to wipe the glass or open the windows. It's minus degrees outside but we had to open the windows to clear the condensation. Also, the drivers side window handles round piece kept coming off, making it difficult to roll either way. Whatever cleaning product is used to clean the inside of the glass left a film scum that was difficult to wipe away (along with the build up of condensation). I appreciate these vehicles are work horses and used hard all the time. But this is an unsafe vehicle. Someone else may get stranded due to the vehicle not starting. It is unsafe to NOT be able to see due to the defog system not working. Please fix these issues. The liability is not worth leaving the vehicle as is.

Where the low rating applies is for the arguing we had to do and the phone call we needed to make to head office to file a complaint for the issue of our free month's storage. We were told in August that if we let them know of a truck or trailer rental that we would receive a month's storage. When we tried numerous times, we were redirected and redirected so that eventually we ended up paying for our extra month. It was only AFTER we called head office and filed a complaint (Melissa was very understanding and helpful), that the manager got involved and issued us a full refund of our month. We were very disappointed with the whole experience, as the people at your Langley location were not willing to work with us, nor contact a manager to help resolve the situation.

There have been multiple times that have entered into the area with no staff around to see me or anyone else while using storage units. My lock I puchased at U-Haul now has a drilled hole at the bottom of it. I checked a few locks around me and they also have drilled holes. Who and why was this done?? I went inside office to look at packaged locks and there is no drilled holes at the bottom. This is unacceptable and shady! I would like an explanation and and a new lock. Thank you.

Many customers are leaving because of that. The remote for the gate that they give you is useless. It has gone down the drain after Tina left. I have spent over $40,000 with them since I started storing in 2011. That’s the straw that broke the camels back. Their greed caused me to leave. You guys will find out from other customers because a lot of customers are leaving. Nothing more to say.

When I phoned into the main switchboard and reserved a unit for a move in date 7 days later I was not told that I had to go to the uHaul location right away to complete the paperwork. I was contacted the next day by the location and was asked to confirm if I wanted the unit and to come in and complete the paperwork and if don’t they will give my unit away to anyone who walks in as it’s first come first serve. To me that does not make sense the whole point of reserving is that it’s yours until the day of move in. What if I was coming in from out of town and was not able to complete the paperwork right away I would have lost the unit. That needs to be clarified by the main switchboard that even though you reserved the unit you still need to go in and complete the paperwork in order to secure it.

The manager is the same way with no compassion or anything. It took over a week and me getting mad to deal with my issue. I had to go to head office for the langley staff to even do anything. No one wanted to hear about my issue and kept putting me on hold or hanging up on me. Just seems like no over there cares and just shrugs it off, even the manager.

Due to my medical condition I was not able to move my belongings. A friend drop the key off at the office for my mover to access my locker. When the mover got to the office they couldn’t find the key but happily let him cut the lock.They even supplied the tool I would’ve been happy to give my permission If they had called me, after all how did they know who he was. To add insult to injury they charged me a $50 lock removal fee

The front desk person acknowledged my comments and said they would send a employee to check it. Subsequently I wrote an email advising the manager, Tina Pender that the storage was no longer required. Yesterday I got a call from U-Haul advising that my rent was 3 days late. That is poor service.
richard m | Overall ExperienceMy only suggestion would be to implement a company rate to promote repeat or long term usage of the storage facilities. As a Senior Move Management company, I rent lockers on a regular basis for my clients. If we were given a reduced rate I would be more inclined to rent one or two long term for my clients usage.

I asked where was the unit located and got the answer "I think building 1". When I finally found the unit there was a lock already on the door. I went back to the office and asked about it to the same employee he just looked at me. I said it looks like one of u-hauls locks maybe. He then said well yes I put it there. I had to then ask how do we get it removed, he said well I guess I could go out there in a bit. I left the office and saw he left by another door and was ahead of me. The unit was clean but to have a light bulb in there would be nice. :(

I had rented 30 foot Rv spot for my trailer with the idea of fitting a second trailer there at some point 17 months later i realized upon buying a second trailer that my actual spot was 17 feet when i brought this to the managers attention she did not seem to take action after two weeks i spoke with her again only to be told that she can evict me at anytime and that if i am unsatisfied i should take my business elsewhere which i did the new manager was very helpful and i was refunded the difference that i over paid for the last 17 months i should also point out the front desk staff are kind and helpful the only bad apple there was tina but thankful now she is gone no future clients have to deal with her bad attitude.

That there were 2 units available right now and I could only have it if I took it RIGHT NOW. I explained that I needed it for 1 month from May 1st as we had rented a 15ft truck with 2 bedrooms of furniture and were moving from the States to Canada.. We needed it for 1 mth while we were quarantined for 2 weeks on arrival, as per the new Covid Health laws. The staff insisted we had to book the truck from yesterday and if we we late moving our furniture out after May 13th that they would give us a couple of days grace. This is a HORRIBLE situation and we don't know what to do about it. We need storage from May 1st to May31st!!!

Came back a few days later and I didn’t realize what time it was and phone was in car outside and my girlfriend and I were just organizing our storage locker and we lost track of time. It was around 11pm(10pm is closing time)when we finished and I didn’t think anything of it. So we locked it up and closed the door. Got in my car to drive out and tried my code numerous times and it wouldn’t work then we called uhaul phone number provided on google maps and it took an hr to get the gate opened. Finally the staff got it opened and we went home to bed. Next time we went was a few days later and my code didn’t work and it was locked I got punished with a only during store hrs access. That sucked for us cause we both work long hrs and have kids. I tried to talk to manager and she was rude, short and unprofessional with very poor customer service and she wouldn’t bug on the rules. A few more days go by and there was another lock on my locker provided by the manager for apparently smoking and leaving garbage. I called she was rude, short and unprofessional. But also kicked me out with 48hrs notice. Before the end of the month. So now we have to find another place to store stuff for 7 days till we move not very helpful to our already busy schedule. It has really put us in a bind financially and a waste of our time. 1 mistake and 1 cigarette but in the hallway near the door to exit the building and we get evicted. In my opinion this was all due to horrible customer service and a grumpy manager.
