The people were friendly and helpful. I had never pulled a trailer before. However the person who installed the hitch disconnected the electric plug for my right rear lights. I had no right brake,backing or turn signal working on the car. I mentioned that the right turn signal was blinking very fast to the people at the counter. Right after the install. I was told I must had a light bulb out. I realized it later. I had to pay to fix their mistake. The plug was just hanging there. He showed me and just plugged it back in. It snaps so I know someone unsnapped it. You need to train your installers better. This created a huge safety issue for me.

I also rented a u haul truck and when I went to pick up the truck the attendant told me I would have rented the storage unit in person instead of online I could have had the first month free, but there was nothing that could have been done to refund the first month now that I paid for it on line. That should be changed in the future.

I specifically inquired about there being a wiring harness for my vehicle when I booked my hitch installation, only to show up and when I wanted to be sure they had the correct harness to be told no they did not and were just going to use a generic and stub into the existing wiring.

Probably just a bad day/location for U-Haul. It happens. Checked in online. Arrived super early to unload a trailer so I could return it in time. A little perturbed by the trailers and trucks stored inside the driveways of the storage area. Made navigating the narrow aisles fun at 0600. I don’t drive a F250 with a long tongue 12 foot trailer often enough to feel comfortable in narrow spaces. Bad lighting in my aisle. Storage unit numbered but numbers painted over in orange paint. Difficult/impossible to read in the dark. Go try it. Storage unit had a lock on it already. No key inside. Locked open. Waited until the store opened an hour later. Not a friendly customer service experience that early. Felt ignored. Only “customer” there. Decided I did not want to store my things in that location. I’ve learned to trust my first impression. These are things I moved 1000 miles. At great time and effort. Why leave them where it appears they are not considered important or secure. I won’t go back to that location. I’m spoiled by the location in Phoenix/Glendale. Clean, well lit, and super friendly and helpful. Anyway, couldn’t check out online. Did not want the facility to blame me for the lock already in place on my unit and get charged to cut it off. So had to call the customer service line to cancel my storage reservation. Exhausted and tired. That agent was incredibly kind and understanding. I then found a place (not U-Haul) close to my home to store my things. I’ll use U-Haul again but never at that location.

I had a wonderful experience up until the unload. You put my boxes on a trailer, which elevates them feet higher off the ground. The ramp is metal grate so the compressor I wheeled in there was damn near impossible to safely remove. The other container had a locker set the weighs hundreds of pounds. Getting it in, simple since the box was on the ground. Getting it out? I welcome anyone reading this to try. I bled, hurt my back, and damaged my lockers. You guys f’d me. I will not recommend your boxes without telling people how stupid this experience was.

The free lock with the 1 month of free self storage was a definite bonus to the trailer rental we needed to move a family members items from storage in Florida to San Antonio, Texas. When I booked online I booked a 10x20. I was given a reservation number and chose my move in date. When I arrived at the facility I was told there were no 10x20 available. When I booked online it doesn’t actually reserve a unit for me. As a customer, that is dumb. I was led to believe that I had reserved a 10x20 at the location that I wanted to use. Either reserve the unit for me, or tell me I can’t until I arrive. Don’t send me email confirmations that I have reserved a unit and then leave it to the local store to tell me that I don’t. The handle was all bent from someone who tried to break in prior to my renting it. Couldn’t get my lock on or off very easily. They said they would move me, but I had already moved everything in.

I had this storage unit for Almost 2 years, never had access to it. Called every other month trying to set an appointment for a lock smith & never got a single call back about setting an appointment. Was told I’d be changed $50 for said locksmith after the U-HAUL lock that was provided, wouldn’t open with U-Haul key. Was always left feeling uncomfortable by disrespectful staff and the constant smell of cigarette smoke. I’ve been with you U-Haul for years so I could definitely tell it had everything to do with this exact location. Everyone needs training, especially the handy man that helps with trailers… he needs training on how to speak to people Correctly. Also maintaining hygiene & washing hands after smoking before touching customers belongings.

I was not allowed to move my stuff into storage yesterday, due to the property having a "broken gate". Therefore, access was not allowed after 7PM, which I was not aware of and really upset me considering I just got finished driving 6 hours from Dallas to San Antonio. So now I had to find somewhere to park the truck and trailer for the night because I did not feel comfortable parking it at the hotel we were staying at. So now I can't move my stuff in till today which now I will be charged another day of rental for the truck. So like i said...NOT HAPPY !!!!

I use my own gate code to get into the facility and tried to leave and the code didn’t work and get told well we’re closed. That’s why! You’ll send someone out 45 minutes later no one‘s here my code works from the outside. My truck is late. The other people who have the reservation are mad because they don’t have the truck because I’m not finished with it because I can’t unload it because I put the wrong lock on my own Unit and got told I have to wait for Monday for the contractor to come out and cut it or hire a locksmith. So recommend U-Haul ever again absolutely not.

First off 70$ is steep, then another 8$ for insurance(why am I paying Insurance when you'll should be covered) and finally 12$ for a lock I thought was included that I will probably never use again. I got the feeling that I was bothering the staff. There was a issue with my payment, I paid online and it was processed by my bank and I showed the attendant and I had to transfer $ from my savings to pay again. So, not a good experience!

Everything was great but I had to come in on a day off to catch the right people during business hours that could resolve my situation. The situation was resolved quickly and easily once I made it in though. I have to say, though, the situation shouldn’t have occurred in the first place and was the result of a busy, confusing Saturday afternoon when I was handed off between employees during some kind of shift change. Again, kudos for the final resolution. That’s what I based my rating on, one star off for the earlier experience.

Huge rat infestation. A lot of my belongings were ruined by rat urine and feces. They even ate through sheets and speakers. This location should be condemned. Also the manager did not apply any of the previously promised discounts or promised free month and raised the price at the last minute. The facility was staffed by an autistic worker who was left unsupervised to manage the entire facility by himself. This was very unfair to both the worker and the customers he had to deal with. If was clear that this worker was handicapped and unable to perform the job even with reasonable accommodations. He should not have been left alone to manage the store by himself.

Great staff, top to bottom. The teamwork is evident. The only thing I can give constructive criticism on is a couple facility items: 1-My two units were in the back corner. Debris and trash always seemed to be there, but not really anywhere else. 2-The locking holes didn’t line up, particularly on 141, making it difficult to lock/unlock. A little maintenance is needed to straighten metal.

The facility did not adhere to the agreed-upon monthly rate in the reservation. It appears that the general manager can change these on a whim which I think is unfair and deceptive. Also I was promised a free month because I’m also renting a U-Haul truck. Again I was told that the general manager will not allow this even though it was promised to me by corporate. Because of this I couldn’t recommend this facility to another person as the general manager does not fulfill commitments that are pre-agreed-upon.

The handle on my door was poorly mounted. Screws and nuts were not properly secured. I asked to fix it and they asked me to do it on my own. Said I don’t have tools, they said they would take care of it and never did.

I’m a little disappointed with my unit Because the dimensions of the door Do not match the dimensions of the unit listed online. It would’ve been useful to know that the door is only the size of a regular house door, not what you expect from a Storage facility. I do recognize that it did j say “swing door” when I was making the reservation, but it was unclear what that meant and I honestly don’t know if I want to keep my unit if it’s gonna be such a pain to fit stuff through a little door, which at best it will be slightly inconvenient and at worst I could be moving a heavy appliance trying to fit through the door and get quite angry. I would Suggest notating That the door dimensions Are significantly smaller Than unit dimensions.

I had never moved from city to city and Stephanie made the madness of moving very helpful. Even though I wasn't quite sure what size unit I needed she was more than helpful getting me 2 unit. In the End I only needed one and she still helped me even though I was that lost crazy customer from a different city. The Staff made me feel a whole lot better they even recommended a good place to eat and places to look for housing they definitely went above and beyond for Me and My Family. Would definitely recommend this location for Friends and Family in the Future!!!

My unit was #3009, when I got it it hadn’t rained and moved out n. Couple of days later I returned to unit and it had rained and there was mud and water at the entrance door of unit. It was messy trying to step over the mud and water and I also slipped on the mud. I noticed that the gutter above unit door had been damaged and water was coming thru the damaged parts. This was in April when Irented the unit. I expressed my concerns with the front office numerous times and was told it was going to get fixed and mud swept away but it never was swept or gutter repaired. I had the unit fir almost 3 months and had to put up with the mud and water during the rainy days which you know have been plenty of rainy days.

The reason I picked 2 stars is because I was duped into this facility. I rented a UHaul to move across the country. With the rental, 30 free days came with it. I reserved a 7x20 for $129 a month after the first 30 days. I showed up and there were none this size available in a 30 mile radius. I was given a 10x10 for $134 a month. I ended up just going to a different company to store my stuff cause UHaul did the old “bate and switch” and the facility didn’t meet my needs at all. I don’t blame the workers at the site, this was not their fault. It should have been taken care of by the person who set it all up for me.

I've rented trucks and trailers before, and I will continue to, but I will not store anything in the future. The staff was helpful when we moved stuff in, but at the end, they were not helpful at all, and were extremely shady with the closeout process. We were trying to get out by March 14th, but did not get it done in time, so my stepson paid for another month on March15th. The staff at the location was in such a hurry to get us out, that they closed the account and deleted the information just after my stepson made the payment for March 15th to April 14th. I could access my U-Haul account online, but the storage unit history was gone. Fortunately, I keep copies of my online receipts and corrected the staff when they stated that we were only paid through March 14th. Once I pointed out their error, they said we had until April 14th to get the lock off and turn in the access card. I guess they forgot that, and since we had been deleted from the system, they messed up. I found out later that my stepson took off from work to go over and close out the storage unit well before April 14th, but when he got there, the card had been deactivated, and his lock had been cut off of the unit. I have no idea when they did that. I guess getting our rent money, plus possibly getting a partial month from a new customer during the same month for the same unit is a good way to make money, but it is a horrible way to treat your customers, it's shady, and it's wrong. My stepson had paid for the last month, and he didn't tell me until now because he didn't want to make an issue of the situation, but I'm taking the time during this review to make the statement. Hopefully your company will use this opportunity to teach your staff how NOT to end a storage experience.

Twice was locked out of my unit even after paying and final straw was when went to get stuff out and put things in and couldn't even get in the gate

I came from California and didn't know the area I was moving to. I asked UHaul to find me a Storage facility as close tothe town of Boerne, TX as possible. Instead they put me an hour and a half away - in San Antonio and heavy traffic. I ended up not being able to access my storage unit for a year and a half. Now that I emptied the unit and returned the truck in my new town of Fredericksburg, I find out that there was a UHaul Rep 2 miles from my house!!!! I am so angry with UHaul Headquarters! I paid a LOT more to be a LOT more inconvenienced! WHY?! Because UHaul wanted to keep my account instead of allowing me to use an affiliate location!!!!! That was WRONG! I am the President of a Relief Org and they KNEW IT and still took advantage of me! I believe I deserve some. kind of refund or consolation for all the trouble I went through! I will NEVER recommend UHaul to anyone and will never use it again! I'm so upset at what was done to me! ~ Theresa Griffith, Fredericksburg, Texas P.S. I see you want me to contact UHaul first to resolve any disputes... well I already tried that and no one would admit what happened! They re-affirmed it was the closest location! Now I know the truth!

On the storage unit that we were given the holes on the door didn't align and I was told I had to buy a particular lock even though I already had my own UHaul heavy duty lock. When I went to the back to put my items in the unit we waited for over 30 minutes for someone to come and open the unit. Then after loading my things in when we tried to use the lock that I was forced to buy I had to use my own lock anyway because of the lock holes did not align. Then the person that sold me the lock didn't want to take it back and refund my money and she finally admitted she couldn't do a refund. I had to wait 2 hours to see the person who was able to do the refund, and she suggested that she could give me another unit. Really like I would go back take everything out get the truck again and move to another unit. I hope that it will be better when I remove my things.

Everyone at the Nacogdoches location was absolutely wonderful! From the rental process to purchasing moving supplies, I had an easy time with my move. Kudos to your staff!

It was next to impossible to access my unit for the first 6 months the gate card they gave me never worked so i could only access my unit if the office was open and they let me in other than that it was great

I really appreciated all the help from the EE's at this location - twice that I have been in the office - your company for some reason feels the need to do computer updates while the employees are checking people in and trying to get them set up for rentals both trucks and storage - I would hope the company would do those things at night when no one is in a hurry or panicking that there are too many people standing in line trying to social distance standing out the door in 100 degree temperatures waiting to get waited on because your company shuts the computers down - that's just nuts!!!

This location was great! The staff there was very helpful and went above and beyond to take care of customer needs. With this pandemic going on I had some challenges with my storage unit and the manager of this location really helped me out. Her name was star. I’ve been a uhaul customer for over 10 years. When you have excellent service from a good company you keep coming back as I will surely continue using uhaul for many more years to come. Thank you

Was very disappointed with our experience. The one clerk had great customer service but was very slow. One unit was too small, the second unit was the same size, 3rd unit had a water leake.
