Facility workers were always helpful. Facility amenities always worked well. Only con the elevator doors close extremely quickly. Closed on me and my kids and our things numerous times.

RICHELL SWhen we picked-up the moving truck in Knoxville, TN we prearranged to drop off at this location due to proximity to our delivery point. However, someone changed our drop off location while we were on the road and when we had arrived at this location on Fesslers Ln they refused the equipment. We were dealing with the GM, Teresa Young. She informed us that our truck was needed at another location because a customer was waiting on it, even though we were dropping off the truck 2 days before its due date. We informed her that this was the location on our signed contract and she stated that U-haul has the right to change it based on their needs and we would be charged an additional $250 to drop off at her location. We called the main office in AZ and spoke to Cricket from 938 traffic. Cricket was very kind to deal with, and she changed the drop off location back to Fesslers Ln. However, the GM Teresa Young continued to refuse to accept the truck at this location and insisted it was needed somewhere else even though Cricket could not see this particular truck assigned to go back out. The truck was finally begrudgingly accepted at the Fesslers Ln location. The GM Ms. Young was not at all pleasant to deal with and wasted our time with her lack of customer service.

Waynetta P | First ImpressionsWe reserved an appliance dolly with our uhaul and when we arrived they said that they had just given away their last appliance dolly. What is the point in reserving if it can just be given to someone else? It took 20 minutes to find another location with an appliance dolly and then we had to go there and wait another 10 minutes for them to figure out their paperwork. Overall a 5-10 minute pickup turned into 45 minutes and put our entire schedule behind because they didn't have the equipment we needed. If we had been notified ahead of time that was an issue we would've changed our reservation to another location so we didn't have to go to 2 locations. Also, we had to drop the dolly off at the 2nd location so that added mileage both ways that wasn't comped, even though it was an error of uhaul for giving away the dolly we reserved.

DOMINIQUE TI accidentally moved in online and thought I had canceled my reservation, but had not… I never ended up needing the storage space and they were very helpful and correcting the problem with me who is technologically not very savvy. They were very friendly and very helpful I would highly recommend the staff.

Told the staff I didn’t want or need them, so I never received them but somehow I still got charged for them. Also, I told the staff I probably would use 20 miles. The 20 miles fee was deducted out of my account during my rental, that’s fine, but when I returned the truck I used 25 miles and that was deducted out of my account after my rental, so I was charged TWICE for mileage. I have yet to see any money reimbursed in my account for these obvious errors on U-Haul’s end.

Steven STeresa Young was the manager at my location. She was great! Super helpful in getting me set up with a storage room and returning my dollies before I began my one-way trip from Nashville to Baltimore. I also liked the option to haul additional items on behalf of U-Haul for compensation towards the cost of my truck rental, particularly after we negotiated up to $500 from the initial offer of $350. However, realizing the day before my scheduled rental that my preferred truck size was not available was a major blow financially. I ended up having to rent a smaller truck, driving it from Nashville to Baltimore, then flying back to Nashville and renting a second truck to move all of my things. This happened despite the fact that I booked my reservation about a month in advance. In the future, I hope U-Haul ensures that truck reservations can be fulfilled as requested, particularly given such long trips and advance notice.

santillan fThe issue wasn't with the pickup location, the lady there was extremely helpful. The reservation was made for a location in Lake City. The day before picking up we were told it was moved to another location in lake city. We drove an hour to pick the truck up and there wasn't one there, so we had to drive an additional 35 mins farther from home to pick the truck up. This added more miles to the truck than we had planned as well as over 2 hours of travel time not including the time it took to find out where a truck was. On top of that the blankets and dolly that were reserved weren't available at either of those locations, so we had to drive to Gainesville to get those. I'm not sure why a reservation would be made & accepted by UHAUL for weeks if it can't be accommodated. Now we've been billed, refunded, billed, refunded and billed again. Honestly not sure how a company can be run in such chaos.

However, when we rented our unit the young man helping us could not get the access card to work properly. He couldn't get a passcode for us to work properly. So he gave us a temporary code which allowed us into the building. But when we opened our unit it set off the alarm. I called and no one answered. We set off the alarm three times and it's extremely loud. We had to unload our truck to get it back, so we had to keep listening to this horrific alarm. There was no way to contact the site manager and every time I called the main U-Haul number there was no one to help me with a storage unit.

I declined the insurance twice when checking out because my car insurance covers me in any vehicle I drive. I kept the van for under 90 minutes and drove less than 8 miles, moving only two small items of furniture. UHAUL failed to adequately disclose the extra charge and falsely advertised the van was available for $19.95 plus mileage. Even though my storage experience at the UHAUL facility on Fesslers Lane in Nashville TN is above expectations, going forward I will be renting the vans from the Home Depot next door to the antique mall where I am a dealer because their charge really is $19.95 for the first 75 minutes. I have six storage units at the Fesslers Lane facility and need a van approximately every 6 months or so. Teresa and her team are wonderful. The van insurance requirement of your company is not.

Alan MUhaul's system to no prorate rent in order to adjust the due dates is absolute trash. I wanted to prorate my unit for a few days and change my due date to the 1st and I was told to pay a full month in advance. Also, the facilities sliding doors are not in use after office hours which makes it hard to enter and exit with items needed to be stored.

When I first arrived to the storage unit the women immediately told me she has no units available, although I had reserved a unit and just arrived to TN from AL. After much back and forth she finally "found a unit." Then, the movers that U Haul assigned to me showed up and were completely awful. They reeked of weed and fought the entire time about who was in charge. After everything was moved into the unit, the storage unit manager then proceeded to tell me I had to drop the truck off at a DIFFERENT location. It was nearly 5pm at this point and she said I could call the scheduling department to see if I could get it switched to the 506 Fesslers lane. Thankfully that was able to be arranged. The whole experience was a nightmare and like I said, I will never be using U haul moving, storage or movers ever again and will share my experience with others.

Non smokers don’t enjoy smelling that, and it makes the facility feel “lesser than.” Second - this same employee closed the doors on us at 6:59pm on a close time of 7pm. We exited the elevator prolly around 7:02? She stood there, looked at us, I knocked, she ignored us. Then waved us off to go to a small hallway door. Then she walked outside and argued with my fiancé about. Eventually speeding off in her car. Problem is - she spent more time telling us why she wasn’t going to open than doors then it would have taken for her to briefly open and close the doors again. It’s poor service. Frankly, unacceptable in regard to common sense communication and actions taken by the employee. Maybe she isn’t paid enough to care, or she simply doesn’t care about client experience in general. Joe S | First ImpressionsVery conflicted on this rating. I had reservations for a truck and a storage unit. Everything with the truck went super smoothly, not really any issues at all. It was very convenient all the way through. The storage unit however is where things got rocky. Initially everything went well. We were even able to switch to a bigger unit after realizing the one we reserved was too small. The employee available during office hours was very friendly and helpful. After office hours however, things are kind of ridiculous. They shut the main loading doors (double wide sliding doors) and you only have the ability to load through a standard sized door on either side, so hopefully everything you need to store fits through a standard sized door. Then, when it came around time for access to end there was absolutely no warning for it whatsoever. Suddenly the elevator just stopped. We and several other folks trying to unload were not able to even go up and lock our units. Two of the groups including us had the door left wide open with the general instructions to “come back as close to 5 as you can”. There was no heads up. No conversation. And everything we owned that we just spend 12 hours moving across the country was now open and available in a unit for anyone who can access the building before we got there. We live an hour away now. So after driving all day and unloading all evening into the night, we had to get up at 4am to drive another hour and get there at 5 to close the unit. If we had just had a heads up, or a last call type thing. Something. Anything. They tell you the access hours of course but when you’re unloading, you’re not checking your phone every 5 or 10 minutes. You just try to get it done. It was honestly ridiculous. Hopefully there is some sort of remedy in the future for that kind of issue.

Kelondra S | Overall ExperienceAlthough I had zero issues with your storage facility, was super pleased, and was well priced and accommodated my late hours too, I have a completely different feeling towards your truck rental department. About a month prior to getting this unit I had rented a few trucks. Mostly had good experiences until I was told to take a truck to maintenance (different location) which was much further from my home than the one I intended to return it to on 1st avenue (which was demolished by a tornado about a week after I rented the 26' truck from there). I had called roadside assistance and they told me, the mechanic would look at it and if it was okay they would arrange for me to keep it another night to finish my loading since I was afraid to drive it that day. Said if it needed to stay they would supply me with another. When I got there, I explained to them (2 guys) the situation and they didn't listen. Said the mechanic doesn't do things like that and continued checking me out. When I asked about another truck, they basically laughed at me and said they don't do that either. The office personnel were leaving as I walked up to call customer service and road side assistance, who also told me (different lady) that they didn't do that. Had I known that, I would've finished using the truck before they checked me out, to load my things and drop them off, cuz I still had the rest of the day to finish. I was then stranded, with my dolly, in the rain, 25 minutes from home. I could've dropped the truck off at the place I got it from on my way back home, at least, had I known I'd be charged like $300 for taking it to the maintence department, which I was asked to do. So in addition to spending $300 on the truck originally to take things to a sale to make hopefully more than $300, which I was 2 days late setting up for. The next day, I returned to the original place, hoping they would be able to help and they called maintence who said they couldn't help... again and arranged for me to rent another truck for another $100 to finish. A few days later when I checked my bank account, I was surprised by another charge, as a penalty, for like another couple hundred dollars. A $300 day rental for 3 days turned into $700 for 5 and I was already broke and that's not including the gas I put in the truck with intentions on using it, that I didn't use or get refunded for when they checked me out before understanding my situation. So I had to buy it again the next day with the next truck. And I got charged the extra miles for taking it to the shop instead of waiting for roadside assistance to come to my home which the lady said could take many hours. I was just wanting to finish and thought I was helping and ended up costing me 100s of dollars and I lost money from my sale for 2 days which is the reason I needed the truck to begin with. I contacted customer service multiple times, sometimes on the phone for hours. They contacted the maintenance department who lied and said they offered me a truck. If that were the case I wouldn't have been walking down Gallatin road crying with a dollie, having to call an Uber to pick me up for an additional $25. Once they realized I rented another the next day, they believed me and told me to call back if I didn't hear anything. Every time I didn't hear back and I called back I did it all over again. I know this has nothing to do with the storage unit, but I complained to the lady that signed me up and it may have been the same week if not a couple of weeks later and she told me the man I was told to contact would work it out with me and said he was the best customers relations guy. I was given the name by 2 customer service reps to contact if not resolved. I left him at least 5 messages with no reply! I'm assuming he believes his crappy helpers at maintenance who were ready to go home while I was stranded in the rain. His name was Jeffrey Porter. Anyways, that was 1.5 years ago and obviously I'm still upset and angry about it and will never recommend uhauls service for a truck rental, ever! But the storage unit and it's employees were sorry friendly

There was a tall Caucasian man with a white mask on,that worked there who was extremely racist & angry towards me and my family . He even made my pregnant daughter stand outside for 10 minutes and when he finally came outside to address her he had a attitude and asked her what did she want . That was extremely unprofessional and she was hurt ; I don’t know if he was giving us attitude due to everything going on with Trump and Black Lives Matter but I did not appreciate it. He even tried to close the building at 6:50 instead of 7:00 and when we tried to talk to him he kept checking his watch and giving us attitude. This experience was horrible and we were racially profiled. There was one good worker who sensed our uncomfortable dispositions and helped us his name was David H on night shift and he was the best although he was injured he still went out of his way to help us and insure everything was okay . He reassured us that his coworker was always this way, which is unfortunate in a customer service position!On Morning shift , Mr.John was a extremely helpful and gave us candy and the lock to the storage unit. He was kind & overly helpful ! All of this is on your camera system & I hope it can be used to show future employees how not to treat paying, respectable, on time repeat or first time customers. That evening shift guy was horrible & unfit for this position.

When we originally came to the property with true friends, she said we were fine where we were. After the first hour, she was rude to my movers and me. She kept making them move the truck after my time had started. I understand the stresses of being a GM is being one myself, but that doesn't give the manager the right to yell and be rude to a customer that respectfully asks a question. Then she hangs up on me and refuses to give me a way to speak to her supervisor and continued to hang up on me for about 5-10 min. I mean she was incredibly rude. I will never use this location ever again. I don't understand why she was making my truck move all morning because she wasn't doing that on the night we moved in. I had to wait almost 2hrs to move in. That manager Tiffany needs some in depth customer service and anger management training. One of her associates even stated to me yesterday that Tiffany was going through a lot but it doesn't excuse the way she's been acting. I can't refer anyone I know to this location. If I do, they would act out after dealing with her.

This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had with U-Haul and would not recommend any Nashville TN U-Haul Storage to anyone. I have spoken to customer service about my experience with everything including the fact that the original facility in Nashville did not have a unit available for me even though I had a reservation and she saw it in the computer. I was there with a 26 foot truck and hired movers to empty it. She said there was nothing she could do and told me to try to get one at UHaul on Fesslers. I moved from 580 miles away and had to scramble to find a place to store my things. Costumer service offered a $30 gift certificate to use for any UHaul product or service.
