GEORGE MThe process was smooth and seamless, however, I rented the motorcycle trailer on a Friday morning and needed it for only a few hours. I brought the trailer back and placed it back in their yard around 3pm. I was met by a uhaul yard person who assisted me to disconnect the trailer. When I asked if I still needed to go inside he stated no, I've already taken care of it. I then left and was a bit surprised by a call on Sunday afternoon from uhaul asking when I was going to return their trailer? I stated it's already back in your trailer lineup on Friday afternoon. I think the process of communication within their location could be greatly improved

LISE-LOTTE JI did not end up using thr 4x8 one-way to Owen Sound as the height of the trailer was terribly low for most of my items, Therfore had swapped to a 5x8 with a greater ceiling height than allowed me to load properly and safely. In the end. I was being charged for both trailers and wanted a full refund for the 4x8 enclosed trailer to which was not a full refund.
BRANDON SThis was my 1st time using the storage at this facility and I must say I was quite impressed on their set up. Accessibility was easy and the facility in it's entirety was very clean. I have used other U-Haul storage facilities and they were not as impressive as this one. I most definitely would recommend the U-Haul facility at 4622 MONTROSE RD, in NIAGARA FALLS, ON. Very happy client!!

J PNiagara Falls near Montrose rd location. excellent staff so helpful. I have allergies and staff was very understanding and accommodating. helped me find products that were hypoallergenic. My locker was clean as well. One complaint though,. it's too dark and the ceiling is too low. The light near my locker was on.a sensor and I had to walk down further down the hall to turn it on. Without it on I couldn't see anything. Overall very good security and logistics. I like that the dolly was available for use.

WARREN SThe only thing that would have made it better is if there are more staff at the desk during busy times. A fair bit of time gets taken up with picking up the vehicle on a busy weekend morning. But, I absolutely do not want to use an app to pick up the vehicle faster. In that case, I'd rather wait and have a person help me when picking up a vehicle.
Christopher SMy father recently passed away. I rented the trailer to take to Florida to bring back items from his and my now widowed mother's home, as she is now putting it up for sale. I was told it was cheaper to take an empty trailer from Niagara down and bring it back. As opposed to renting one in Florinda and taking it one way back here. I took the cheaper option. I towed an empty trailer 2,500 kms. The Trailer I was given had no running lights. The associate said it was a sensor in my truck a 2022 Ram Pick up, and that they would come on in the dark. I disagreed but hey, I'm not the "expert". I drove the trailer in the dark through the mountains of Virginia to Florida with no running lights. luckily your trailers have many reflectors on the rear. I was not willing to stop and ask for road side assistance in the middle of the mountains, wait for a mechanic in the middle of the night to tell me the trailer was no good. When I arrived in Florida I called road side assistance . The mechanic was very good, but said the trailer lights did not work. He advised to exchange it. I went to a U-Haul who could not help me because I was given an "in town" contract and there was no exchange policy on an in town contract. They advised I should have never been allowed to leave the lot in Canada with them knowing I was headed for Florida ( I did advise the Niagara location I was headed to Florida with the Trailer). I was sent to a corporate location who advised me the same. That I should have never been allowed to leave Niagara and that I was given the wrong contract. The Florida Corporate location on Federal Hwy was excellent, I dealt with the owner. She made a call to her supervisor. I was given another trailer that was 10 times the quality and shape as the original. Further, the original trailer's tie downs were seized with salt and corrosion. Not a good experience to an already very difficult situation. Thankfully I was charged the in town contract price I was originally quoted. NOT HAPPY...

GARY DThe staff are amazing and very helpful at this location. Although the truck provided for me was horrid. Mirrors are unable to be adjusted without an Allen key. There was absolutely no gas in the truck, I had to go straight to a gas station and fill the whole tank. Returned this truck just under half a tank. I was only credited $48, the cost of gas prices alone today that is no where close to enough. We had to spend $300 to fill this truck up. Back of truck was very dirty, just overall not impressed I feel I got the oldest truck on the lot nothing was checked before I was to pick up the truck. Overall I feel next time I will probably use another company just for the inconsideration of even prepping the truck before it is to be taken out, felt very unsafe like it hadn’t been serviced in years.

ANDREW MService and pick up took very long pick up was for 9:00 the desk check in took 15 mins then they couldn’t get the lock off of the truck to get the keys, didn’t get to leave until 9:45 and had to have the truck back by 3:00 so I lost that time, while driving and using the brakes at highway speed the whole truck shook with the brakes applied steering wheel moved side to side really bad, I couldn’t adjust the mirrors they were way too tight making back up the truck impossible to back up, the only positive part of the visit was dealing with crystal who took the time to handle the situation and at least made so good out of it, I was very shocked at how poorly the experience overall was

The website is designed to upsell and I had pages and pages of upsell on boxes, dollies, tape etc…. It doesn’t make me feel like a customer, more like a pigeon in a shakedown process. Enough already. There are too many marketing emails these days and if you want a suggestion, LESS is MORE. Thanks for the trailer rental though.

ROBERT FRented from U-Haul to move household furniture to and from storage rental. This was my second rental from the Montrose Road location. The rental was so easy I was out the door in 10 minutes. 3 hours later truck returned and I was on my way. Cost $75 with insurance. I will continue to be a customer as it’s stress free rental.

penny f | Overall ExperienceI have spoken with U-Haul Customer Service staff ALREADY regarding my experience with this facility. At the BEGINNING, the staff bent over backwards to accommodate my needs, which was terrific, and very much appreciated! I had spent 16 days at a local motel due to flooding at my residence in Toronto. The motel made the decision to make everyone leave that was no longer paying full price for their rooms. That included me. I had a tremendous amount of stuff there due to my personal circumstances including plants I had purchased as gifts for friends of mine, food that was in the mini fridge, as well as pet food for my small dog and cat. What started off great turned disastrous for me and I was EVICTED. I believe the reasons were largely blown WAY out of proportion! The General Manager began acting as though I was a terrible person and even bad mouthed me to OTHER U-Haul locations! It wasn't fair at all. Some of the mistakes on the contract I signed were mistakes made by the staff members, not by me, yet I was held accountable as though I MADE THEM all! I was told the President of Marketing was going to get involved and would call me within 3 days. I was in the hospital when he made one call to try and reach me. He has never attempted to call me to the best of my knowledge after that, even though I have followed up THREE more times with the Customer Service Department. I was ALSO told I wouldn't have to deal with the nasty General Manager again. At the time, that eased my mind, because she had been quite rude and condescending to me. I felt like she was chastising a 5 YEAR OLD! I am 61... I was in breach of their contract from the MOMENT I stepped foot on their property and moved the first load of stuff from the motel. Why? Because it included the food which isn't allowed, and also live plants which aren't allowed either. In my defense, I had the owner's permission to bring the plants there. She was going to put them in the office area, but since it was closing time when they set the contract up and she had no idea WHERE exactly she could put them, I just put them inside the U-Box they gave me outside, and I put others out in their garden display area until I could deliver them. They also claimed I used THEIR business address as MY address which is ridiculous! My drivers license wasn't scanned because we were rushing and the office was closed by then. It was supposed to have been corrected later but wasn't. Is that MY fault? No it isn't... I had been extremely sick the day that the General Manager was sending text after text to my cell phone number. In fact I was at a Bed and Breakfast facility more than 1.5 hours away and had stayed in the ROOM the whole day I was that sick, with my phone on Do Not Disturb! As soon as I woke up the next morning and turned on my phone, I saw the messages escalating that had been sent, and her telling me in the final one that she was disgusted and was kicking me out IMMEDIATELY! I called her as soon as I read them and tried to work out a solution. However, she kept interrupting me as I tried to explain my side of the story. I'll never forget her words! She said "I've heard it all BEFORE Catherine!". Well how can THAT be when it had literally JUST HAPPENED?? I offered to correct everything and asked for a second chance. I was DENIED. And to make matters WORSE, she would not even rent me a cargo van that I needed to move the stuff to another facility! She said she was worried I wouldn't return it! Seriously?? I have rented multiple times from U-Haul and never returned a truck damaged or late or not full of fuel!! So again I felt it a FURTHER dig to my character and totally unfair. To make it worse than that, she had a discussion about me with the St. Catharines location and she told THEM not to rent to me EITHER! I had to book through a different CITY which was very inconvenient and involved more costs. The General Manager put EXTRA restrictions on me even though I had moved the food and plants out immediately after I got told I was being evicted. I made amends and apologies -- to no avail. The icing on the cake came when I had just ONE more load to empty the 10 x 15 foot unit with a cargo van I had ALREADY rented elsewhere, and done 3 complete trips with. Word had now been spread about me maliciously. I was denied renting a $19.98 cargo van ANYWHERE in the REGION and couldn't enter their building! Come on U-Haul, was a I criminal now? It sure is how you have treated me! And I never heard from John Fisher their President either, even though I was promised he would smooth things over for me. I wouldn't send ANYONE to the Niagara Falls location in Ontario as a result, because even though MOST of the staff are customer centered, and EXTREMELY helpful, Nicole Stewart the General Manager definitely isn't. Not at all... At least I definitely don't think so! I'm very disappointed. The facility had EVERYTHING I required! But I was given NO OPTION to stay

Karl D | Overall ExperienceThe ONLY thing I would say that I prefer at the Toronto U-Haul location that I had been using before for storage, is that THERE you can drive your vehicle right into to an indoor 4 bay facility, so you are protected from any vandalism that might otherwise be a possibility. You are also protected from the WEATHER! They ALSO offer 24 hour access to their indoor climate controlled units. The Niagara Falls location allows very EARLY access to the inner climate controlled units (5am), but they close access at 10pm, which to me is quite early. I do NOT know many people that would be up 5am moving things to a storage facility. I think it would be an excellent idea to change the hours to 7am (or even 6am) and EXTEND the evening hours to midnight or 11pm! I had to get a U-Box for an emergency I was involved in. And then I got an indoor unit which will help me consolidate my storage needs to ONE city from THREE... But 10pm does NOT offer nearly enough flexibility for someone in an emergency situation. And although I DO wake up early, at around 6:30am, I'm not jumping out of bed to rush to a storage facility at that hour. I have business to attend to during normal business hours, so that only leaves approximately 3 or 4 HOURS to sort through my possessions, organize them onsite, and utilize the indoor access hours of operation. It's just a suggestion, but I do think that if you surveyed your customers, many would agree that LATER hours would be much more useful than access availability at 5am. The staff have been excellent and extremely helpful, especially Crystal and James!! Thanks to BOTH of them for understanding the urgency of my situation, and for helping me so much. I truly appreciate that! Keep up the great work U-Haul and I hope you share my comments with the powers that be, and with Crystal and James!

When I returned with the car, they told me that they only had a 10*13 As storage... I asked them to call another uhault in the area, but the lady said I should call them. I saw with my own eyes that a couple of storage were empty, yet the manager did not give me more. So that's all about Uhaul in Niagara on Vine Street, when they couldn't give you such a storage unit, they were so nice that they gave you two medium-sized storage units.. so that's it for Niagara uhaul cooperation and helpfulness I'm sorry that there is only this one uhaul in Niagara, because I would have gone somewhere else

I was initially told no because it would take someone away from their job to open the door. I dug in my heels because it meant having to through 2 corridors to get to the next overhead door and my 8' x 12' unit was packed. Someone came and opened the door. They were way from their desk for 5 minutes and it probably saved me 2 hours. Hard to figure. Everything else was excellent.

The storage facility was always spotless, a job very well done by Lena who clearly takes pride in her work. Anytime I had to deal with the office staff it was most pleasant (and I was often addressed by my first name) with all my questions or concerns answered with the utmost professionalism but with a good sense of humor as well. I rented at this location for over a year, rented trucks for my move and even had a hitch installed on my car. No matter how busy the office was I never got a "stressed out" or rushed feeling from the staff or manager. Every experience a good one. I would say that the overall feel of this location felt like family, I actually experienced some sadness as I cleaned out my unit to take to my new location as I felt like I was leaving "friends" behind. I think that manager Nicole deserves kudo's for the great inviting environment she has created within her staff at this location...most welcoming!! Thank you to all!!

In both situations, they were very simple questions, they always seemed disgruntled and dismissive, as if I was wasting their time. When I was done, not once did staff wish me good day and thank me for using uHaul's services, they just looked beyond me to the next person in creating them with a "ya" or "what's up?"; bery unprofessional. -the cost of a 5X5 has become very high, so much so, it became financial better for me to just purchase another storage locker in my condo building.

The units are very very small , the doors for accessing the front are horribly inconvenient, I was told on the phone when I placed my reservation my 1 unit would be free , the desk made me pay for the full amount , only when I disputed it they listened to the tapes and found I wasn’t lying and offered the one unit free they wouldn’t refund me for the one and I could place my items in a more cheaper bigger facility I only needed it for 2 weeks , and I had to pay for the e full month - unlike other facilities, and you estimated my km /miles to be way less and I ended having to pay an outrageous amount plus put gas to even use the truck upon departure, all in all I paid wayyy too much money in that horrible stressful move and I will never rent storage or trucks from this company again based off my experience I’ve used uhaul trucks for lives many times and never experienced this kind of sneaky amounts paying a deposit and then you taking it afterwards and charging more for mile use it’s insane ! Also the hours for office are terrible and storage access hours are not 24 hours so when we moved and loaded had to hurry up because only had till 10?!? Crazy ! Storage should be 24/7 especially if so locked up and secure like you do , which I will give you credit for .

SO WHEN MY ACCOUNT was at zero, I was told because I had TWO STORAGE SPACES, even though I told the individual my husband opened the ONE IN HIS NAME, I was told they were the same account and TOLD because the other one had a balance on it, they were charging me two x the late fees, even though one was at zero. WHEN I ASKED THE MANAGER TO MAKE AN EXCEPTION SO I COULD PAY $300 NOW AND $300 AT THE END OF THE MONTH. HE SAID NO! HE SAID THAT WAS NOT AN OPTION AND THAT HE HAS BEEN TELLING ME FOR MONTHS THAT I COULD NOT MAKE PARTIAL PAYMENTS. I am a loyal customer of uhaul and I was keeping my unit for that month so instead of the 117.00 I was charged 299.00 and I had my stuff out this month 2 days before my due date and Matthew Tubman is trying to charge me fees. I was not leaving my storage unlocked with my lock when theirs people who are living out of their storage unit on the same hall as I was in when I was cleaning mine out. Last month Matthew had an additional lock on my unit by the morning of the 31st and pay is the 29th and I was threatened my stuff would be going for auction so they have the option of removing the lock themselves this man just wants to charge me more and more money

SHERRY N | Overall Experience1) upon booking I was told I had a unit that was only a couple stairs up from ground level. It was a full flight of stairs 2) the billing process is Completely ridiculous. For starters when my first bill was due I never received any notification nor was my credit card charged. Upon receiving a letter at my house weeks later I was told I was being charged a non-payment fee. I explained that this was unacceptable as I have not been notified via mail, email or telephone that there was an issue with payment. I checked my credit card history and an attempt was never even made. I didn’t had to argue to have them removed delete payment fee. Which they eventually did. 3) for whatever reason it was impossible for them to correspond with me via email. I was then told that it must be my email address that was the problem. This is not a problem I use this for personal and business email every single day and I’ve never had an issue outside of the issue with U-Haul. 4) It wasn’t until the final two months that I used the unit did I receive any sort of email or paper invoice from uhaul. Two invoice forms. 5) while helping a friend move some items into a different storage unit at the same U-Haul facility, I checked on my unit. I found that some of my furniture was wet and also stained with water damage. I spoke to the front desk and also to the manager of the store. He told me there was nothing that could be done as he didn’t have any notice of a leak in that area. I explained that this was his notice that he must have a leak somewhere in that area as my items which were moved in in November somehow got wet and mouldy between then and April. I was told that because I did not buy insurance I was out of luck. This is completely unacceptable I should not have to buy insurance to protect my goods from a facility that is supposed to me be maintained. As far as I’m concerned this is a stain on the U-Haul name. It seems that U-Haul sells itself on its customer service, quality of facility and ease of use. My experience does not reflect that. I am now out $400 of which the furniture cost, the $40 in dump loads because I had to throw it all out, and the close to $100 a month and I paid between December and June. My phone number is 289-228-4869. I will never recommend U-Haul to absolutely anyone as of time.

hope p | Overall ExperienceI rented a 5' x 5' x 6' storage locker for May 3. I arrived May 4 to discover the space contains a low hanging sprinkler pipe and warning tape on all three walls prohibiting users from filling it above the marker line.. . which is located just 56” inches from the floor. Effectively, there is just 4'8" of usable space, NOT six feet as advertised. This represents a loss of 41.5 square feet of storage. As a result I was unable to fit all my possessions in this clearly much smaller space and had to find an alternative storage solution for the remaining items. To represent this locker as a 5' x 5' x 6' storage given the interior stacking limitations is completely misleading. One might say it could be considered false advertising. I did not have this problem at the Milton UHaul facility and am now in a position where I have to keep two separate rental spaces in different locations at more cost until this problem is resolved.

First, he talked very condescending, this was my first time in the facility and when I asked him where to go, his comment was, ''obviously, its this way down the hall.''. Who talks to customers like that? The word obviously should not be in someone's vocabulary who is in customer service. And then I wanted to add my spouse to the storage and he gave me a hard time about doing that, because my spouse was in another country. Once my spouse called on the phone and requested a manager, then all of a sudden, it wasn't a problem. I'm not going to rent here long term because I refuse to pay and give a business money who have employees with that kind of attitude.

Tom B | Overall ExperienceThe only issue was a big one at the beginning when I set up automatic payment but for some reason it didn't start and I received very strongly worded notices of non-payment and my contact person was called at work, which was upsetting and alarming for all involved. From what I understand this happens fairly often because of long delays in processing payment information since head office is in another country (USA). That was very disappointing. However the service and staff in Canada were excellent.

There were no lockers that large so I rented the largest locker that location had. It wasn't large enough do I had to rent a second locker at full price. I think a discount should have applied as I did not get a 10 x 10 locker that was not available as per the first month free deal. In addition I I possibly could gave gif all my things into a 10 x 10 locker and not needed a second locker, that I will be paying for 2 lockers per month until I am able to bring my positions out storage
