This place has a staffing problem. My rep was very knowledgeable and helpful when I went to the location, but they never answer the phone. I think they need more people at this bust location.

David BI came in for the purpose of storing some household items while I prepare for a future move. And intended to utilize the U-Box option. I will say that the U-Box system both Online and In-Person is not user friendly. There were issues that had to be worked out and that took quite a bit of time. But everyone that I encountered at the Niagara Falls store was very helpful and willing to do what was needed to make it happen. Ultimately, I rented two U-Boxes and a truck and got it all taken care of as planned and it went smoothly. The store is always clean, orderly, and well stocked. I have nothing but positive things to say about the employees. They took away some of the stigma that might be associated with storage places and how they operate. This place is above the rest and would absolutely recommend. The only thing is we missed seeing Clark the dog.

MONIQUE RI arrived and was picking up off hours. It doesn't easily walk you thru the process, then it kept telling me I was in the wrong location for pick up. This is 6:15 a and so I reached out for 24 hr customer svc via chat. They took 10 mins to get online, and then after I'd already given a photo ID, taken a personal facial screenshot, I was told they needed a reference. Someone to call to verify me or whatever. I was then told the very real gf whose info I gave was valid. Claimed they called and it wasn't verified. Actually they'd only sent her a text msg. So end of the day I didn't leave there until after 7a for a 6a pick up. Which messed up my entire plan. Thankfully I check truck compartment because they didn't leave my dolly. That would've been a true disaster. End of the day I could've/should've simply waited til opening at 7a. Very disorganized. Upon my visit day prior to p/u other supplies they couldn't even find in system. All showing on my phone, yet not their systems 🤕

Deborah HWhen we arrived there were 3 people in front of us. 2 with reservations and one walk in. All 3 were given trucks that were running, warned up and fully cleared of snow. When we got to the counter, not only was the dolly we had reserved (and desperately needed) was unavailable, but our truck was still parked in the lot, covered in ice and snow. I'm 5'3" tall and we had rented a 20 ft truck. I had to grab my personal snow brush, which broke in the process, to try and scrape the ice and snow off the windshield. It took me 20 minutes and I was covered in snow. When I got to my location, the cargo door was completely frozen shut and it took almost an hour to chip away at the ice. I ended up having to pour hot water on the base of the door to melt the ice but it was 18⁰ outside so the water pooled and froze on the ground around the back of the truck. While carrying boxes I slipped on that ice, which wouldn't have been there if the door hadn't been frozen, and severely twisted my knee. I had only rented the truck for 8 hours and because of the terrible condition of the truck I lost over 2 hours.

PETER EOverall it was a quick easy service for in and out. I would like to mention If appliance dolly is not available, it should be marked as such online when reserving. I didn't know until I arrived. Previous time I rented the truck was out and ready to pull away, this time the truck was parked in a space I was given the number for. Numbers are faded and it was windy out....maybe a better guide to finding the slot would be nice. The truck was parked in a spot between 2 other trucks, on the left so close that I had to enter in the passenger side and crawl across the seat to get in. I couldn't use the rear mirror for guide because it was so close I couldn't push it out.

The below average is for the online check in which failed to provide information I needed to properly enter the building and use my storage space. I had to go inside the store & get help from employees. Again the employees were super cool and helpful. Once we figured out where my space was it was easy.

DAVID GHad another amazing experience with Uhaul on Military Rd. By far my favorite uhaul location of any. Clean store. Friendly and accomadating staff. The only thing missing was the store's best asset, Clark the dog! He brought me so much joy whenever I came in, and I was very disappointed to hear he wasn't at the store any longer. I will definitely return and recommend this Uhaul location, but I would really like to see Clark come back.

BETH JThe gentleman who we received the vehicle from came out to inspect it when we returned it. Upon inspection he claimed we didn’t fill the gas all the way to full which we DID. We stated we would not be paying the extra fee and he ended up saying don’t worry about it. 5 minutes later as we are driving home we received a call from the location stating we had an outstanding balance of $7 and some change for the gas we “didn’t put in it”. I will never be returning to this location again nor will I be paying the $7.

Came back with my truck the car didn’t work and the coffee didn’t work, called customer service and the number for the manager nothing worked had to leave my truck there with all my belongings including my refrigerated and frozen foods and had to leave because I didn’t get access to my unit. It was the worst experience ever, I do not recommend your facility AT ALL. Now my refrigerated/frozen food is definitely spoiled and I still had no access. This was a terrible choice of storage I do not recommend. I expect my good m good to be replaced due to this while ordeal being the facilities fault and I expect no extra charges for having to keep the truck an extra day because my unit was not accessed. Terrible terrible experience. Manager never picked up nobody could help over the phone either.

alex p | Overall ExperienceEvery single time we visited an alarm went off at some point during our visit (not trigger by us) and no one did a thing about it, which didn’t make us feel that our stuff was super safe if anyone wanted to break in, since no one responded to the alarms. There was often trash on the ground and the place didn’t look well cared for, sadly. When we came to move out from our second floor unit, the elevator was broken! I am disabled and can’t use stairs so my wife had to unload the entire unit using the stairs! We had let people know we were coming down that day from Ontario and someone should have let us know about the elevator before we drove down all that way and rented a truck. I would like a partial refund of our last month’s rent or something to make up for the hassle we had to deal with. The fact that we were able to have things shipped to the location a few times was a huge advantage and a big reason we kept our unit there as long as we did.

There were also metal objects that were rusted along with the mold. When I came to remove my items, the codes to get in weren't working, so the alarms went off twice. I asked for 24 / 7 access and was provided an access card that did not work from the time it was issued to me. I was told that I could call the day before and that the building would be left open if I needed after hours access. WTF?? How is that secure. I ended up not needing a second month and had nothing in my locker when it was time for renewal. I attempted to contact U-Haul the day before the renewal and was promised a call back from the 'Manager' before 4 pm. It took multiple calls and several hours to get a call back saying I would get another call back after 4 pm. I never received the promised call back and was billed an additional month - including a late payment fee - in error. Kaylee rectified this issue and was a complete professional. I nevertheless did not appreciate being sent notice that I was in arrears for an empty locker. In 2014 - 2016, I rented a 5 x 5 locker from this same location and had a much more positive experience. I'm not sure what happened since than but I was not impressed this time with the exception of Kaylee. She was very professional and is an asset to the company! Hire more people like Kaylee.

Overall the staff were friendly and I like the convenience of the storage unit and being able to access at all times, renting a van over the phone with fast service, being able to park my car at the facility while I unload my stuff so I don't have to take an uber back and forth, equipment provided to help with loading/unloading, moving supplies to buy in the store and being able to drop key off after hours. Agent is not responding to my emails because I did not accept the initial offer and refused to sign off before the unit was completely empty. Once unit was empty more damage was found. Once I filed a claim, staff at local U-Haul facility refused to speak with me. Most staff members at local facility we're not knowledgeable of the procedure to file claim. One person, I believe his name was William Wilson, who has left the position, was as helpful as he could be and seem to be knowledgeable. Alicia was knowledgeable and provided minimum information and access to insurance company all other people didn't have a clue.

The mice also tore up the newpaper i used to wrap my objects up with. Also mouse urine contaminating everything !! Outrageous storage fees for unhygienic umits!!! For instance, I only realized after that I am paying for a high unit rather than a lower (6 foot) one. The staff member just assigned me the unit without asking which height I would need. I would recommend this storage facility with the caveat of asking tons of questions. I wish I know now what I didn't know then!
Amy A | First ImpressionsI reserved and paid for an Outdoor, Pull up storage unit months before my move-in day. When I arrived on my move-in day, I was informed that there were no outdoor units available. I even showed the printed paperwork. They said there would only be one inside of the building, but it was on the first floor. This was a struggle for the people who helped me move in, as we all thought (as we should), that I was going to drive up to my outdoor unit that I reserved. I didn’t give them a hard time, they said they were sorry, etc. Anyways, it all worked out. (Mind you, I still thought that the replacement unit they gave me would still be climate controlled, as this is what I reserved to have.) When I arrived 3 months later to move out, I was astounded to see my entire mattress as well as my box spring were completely molded. All different colors. After checking the website and storage map, I found that the room I was given, 1271, was indeed NOT climate controlled. I also was billed $148 monthly, whereas I thought it was going to be $114 a month. Besides the moldy mattress and moldy box spring and the room replacement, the young male employees were always very helpful and super kind.

Tina M | Overall ExperienceThe loading door is located opposite the entry door, which is not intuitive. There is a 2-3in lip at loading door that you must pull carts over, making it impractical to use them. The door into storage was too narrow, creating a challenge getting a couch inside, which was quite unexpected. Overall I would not recommend this unit

Theodore S | First ImpressionsNow, at first I was very pleased with everyone there, then I moved out of my storage there, told everyone I moved out, and told them I left, a large, empty storage box for anyone, and a empty Landry basket, to which the employees said, ok, and I wouldn't be charged anymore because I moved out, then I get a bill for a storage I moved out of on March 28th, yeah, your welcome, for the large pepperoni pizza, that's the thanks I get for buying you a pizza, you send me a bill for a storage I told you I moved out of, and you made no mention of anything else.
Tina M | Overall ExperienceWhen I got the storage unit, I was told that I had to purchase a lock from Uhaul, even though I had my own lock. So I purchased one, then found later that I didn’t need to...also why does Uhaul need 3 phone numbers to rent. This is the only time I had to come up with three numbers...also the employee that helped me was a bit rude. I was told from another employee that he was new. Maybe I should have said something when I first got the storage. It was a month ago...every time I went to the unit after I never saw him again. Maybe he got fired because of it...don’t know.

When they set up my storage they did not even have my correct address phone number or credit card information. It never got resolved so I moved my stuff with a budget truck and save money and aggravation. I feel bad that this lady does not value people and Ian more bottom line that came generated.
