The whole process of renting a vehicle was ridiculous i called in a reservation and when I got to location it took 45min before I got into a vehicle. The woman who was helping me walked away after we couldn't get the thing to scan, then the other girl was rude with a short temperament the whole process was RIDICULOUS and I should have been told when making reservation about all the things that had to be done. Time costs money and that took way to long.

Carmen B | Online Move InU-Haul Disaster – Corrupt, Incompetent, and Completely Unprofessional** As a former U-Haul General Manager, I never thought I’d say this — but this location is an embarrassment to the brand. From the moment I walked in, the staff was rude and dismissive. Carmen, the employee who "helped" me, ignored what I told her and set up my rental contract on **her own terms**. I told her clearly that I needed the truck for 24 hours. She put it down for 12 — with zero explanation. That screw-up caused them to start calling me **mid-move** accusing me of being late. Imagine trying to move while being harassed over a mistake THEY made. I spoke to a manager and was told it would be handled — but guess what? It wasn’t. That error kept haunting me. Then, the real nightmare began: after returning the truck **on time**, they left my contract open. Not only did they try to charge me for days I didn’t have the truck, but they also attempted to dump toll charges on me from dates I wasn’t even in the same **state**. This happened not once, but FOUR more times. I had to fight these charges **over and over again**. The worst part? No accountability. The local GM acted like *I* was in the wrong. I had to settle things through them after countless calls to corporate, but even then, no apology — just more deflection and attitude. Funny how when a **storage payment** is late, they’ll blow up your phone with 15+ calls and emails in a single day. But when *they’re* in the wrong? Good luck getting someone to fix it. This was a moving-day disaster made worse by completely negligent staff and shady business practices. U-Haul corporate needs to seriously investigate this location. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. PS: I didn’t move out the 24th it was the 22nd and my Stuff came back really dirty and filthy.

ROBERT LGREAT front desk staff. Everything was set up perfectly, right on time. My containers arrived early and not one thing was broken. I had packed dehumidifiers expecting them to be full on arrival, but the containers were dry inside. I will use U-Haul again if I move back across country.

MARIANNE Simprove your idiotic check-in process. I was unaware that a smartphone is required to rent, I had to return home to get it, and your policy of two additional phone numbers for ID that you call at 7 AM is insane. I'll definitely look into renting similar equipment from Ryder or Penske next time. The pickup truck was nice, except the tie-down bed cleats that others have are far easier to work with with ropes than the flimsy rings on the Chevy.

Manolis MWhile the location wasn't the issue I would not rent from UHaul again. I did not sign up to be an employee at UHaul. There's no reason to pay for a service when you have to do most of the work yourself. I don't want your app on my phone, I don't want to do my own check out and check in and I don't want to wait in line only to be told that I have to do things myself. If you want to serve the public with your business then SERVE the public.

They were very professional and provided great guidance and tips on how to drive with a trailer. The renting process in the office and online app can use some work. What is the point of doing an online check-in if you repeat every single question and step in person. It seems like uhual does not retain information about existing customers and treated everyone like a first time renter. Please delete online line check-in feature if it is not relevant for trailer rentals.

BUT UNFORTUNATELY, yesterday I was very disappointed with the service provided by a woman who works at the cashier. Uhall charged me 3 different amounts on my account, even though the amount I have to pay is $77.00. When I called to complain about what was happening, the woman who answered me explained about the deposit. I then insisted to her that nothing like this had ever happened to me, and she hung up on me.

Furthermore, when I went to move into the storage unit, I learned the large doors close when the office closes which does not make any sense. They are accessed via a code, it shouldn't matter which hours those doors are open or closed. We had to move all of our belongings through a side door which was very inconvenient.

I echoed the conversstion and booking with the manager (rang up my transaction). He agreed to everything i stated. He "mmm, hmmmed" the entire time and when he asked me to look at the bigger model for approval. I asked why he was assigning that car after discussing the arrangements i had made with Ashley. Point is this location is dishonest, not direct and they throw changes on the customer, last minute. They did it with the mileage too. The website and agent said $1.53, but the location charged me $1.99. Super sneaky. Dishonest and rude "mmm,hmmm"

I even had a pleasant time booking what I needed. This was not the case this time. I experienced high levels of confusion using the app for vehicle purposes. I did not receive all email notifications/confirmations with the information discussed as I was told. I received a lack of detail for my storage unit. I noticed many changes in the overall booking process many that I did not note as improvements. At this current time I would not recommend U-Haul to my family, friends, network. I am still at a loss if I will be charged due to the imcomplete state of my duties as a costumer via contract as a result of lack of proper information towards preparation.

The U-Haul self storage folks in Bergen were fantastic and resolved the problem immediately with no further contact with the hateful manager in bensonhurst brooklyn. I will absolutely never do business with U-Haul again if I have to deal with that manager. His franchise should be revoked before the U-Haul name is besmirched all over the internet.

The walkways are pitch dark until you walk through your area. When entering your storage unit, it has no light (i brought a flash light) but as you are inside the fear that the hallway light will cut off soon is concerning. Also roaches in the facility made me feel that I should have taped up boxes better. I saw 3 roaches on my boxes prior to removing items. A few large dead ones on the floor.

It was really far from the access door and was on the upper level. So i went to the check in location and requested the uhaul storage staff to change the storage location ( if available) . To which they told me that a better location is available at a slight higher price but in a different building ( at the lower level). I happily paid the difference for the sake of convenience even though i had already unloaded most of the stuff from the truck, i reloaded and went to the lower level location. To my surprise the updated location was also on the upper level( similar to the one i asked to upgrade). I thought it might be a human error and used the intercom located near the storage to get it rectified. The agent entirely denied that she had given me a ground level storage and when I asked why did she ask me to pay the different, she mentioned that its because the new storage doesn’t have a structural pillar. I never asked for a storage without a pillar, i only asked for the one at ground level to make it easy for me to access . The agent said this is what’s available and hung up on me. I had a terrible experience at uhaul north bergen. I paid more , loaded my truck twice and still didn’t get what i asked for.

Customer service couldn't even assist, she wanted me to make a new reservation which is pathetic. When I got home I called the 800 U-Haul number and they said the manager would be calling me soon to attempt and rectify the issue. Haven't heard anything.. I would just go elsewhere and pay a bit more if your treated with dignity and respect

The line was very long and it took an hour between the time I came in, got the truck, then had one of the employees, Javier, show us the units we wanted. I was in a time crunch for my move, so Javier told me that he could reserve the two 5x10 units on the first floor by calling on the phone in a moment to make sure we could finish the reservation process. He never called. When I called later, we had lost the units we were promised and had to settle for a 10x10 unit on the 2nd level, which the move-in twice as hard than if we had gotten the units we were promised. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. On a positive note, the truck was in good condition and the return of the vehicle was smooth and easy.

No point of standing in the same line as those who are not there to get a truck and just taking 20 minutes to ask generic questions. Utter chaos in the facility! - Checkin process is very outdated and slow. - Customer service at Uhaul online is beyond terrible, they don’t have attention to detail, had to rearrange my order a few times because they always end up missing crucial details. - The movers (although a separate entity) did not communicate or show up at all. - “24/7 truck share” option is the biggest joke. You still need to go to the office and wait for an hour in line for your turn to check in for a truck as they need to still verify your license and do 2 phone calls. They always lie on the phone! The list goes on. Sorry, someone needs to bring these things into attention!

The only suggestion would be to fix the area in the doorways because the large chunks in the concrete make it very difficult to push or pull the carts to the door without loosing your stuff and if the edges were feathered down better the carts would roll much better. I cleared my storage unit out on Christmas as a gift to myself and they helped me avoid any additional charges which allowed me to provide a few good last minute Christmas Gifts for my 3 week old Firstborn son. I am pleased overall and will be returning for business with this facility.

The people were helpful, but some parts of your set-up and process are pretty bad: - Access code on card incorrect (and not corrected yet) - Used intercom to call for assistance, intercom is directly below loudspeaker playing repeating message ...hard to hear person on intercom...someone did show up and help me though. - 2 hrs after moving in, my unit had your lock on it with message "come to office".....had to load stuff back into car and drive upstairs to be told my lock not allowed... have to use specific lock....why don't you just include the lock in the price and stop the nonsense. !!!!! - at 5:15 PM on Sunday 8/9 automatic sliding door to storage had yellow chain across it .... had to use single door to get cart in/out ...awkward - MAIN THING: The holes in latch on the door to my unit do not line up ...VERY difficult to get you lock into both holes....it is impossible without using force to get them to line up.
